We have just had an order for 3 families. Lovely freshly cooked and very fresh fish. The curry sauce was simply the best ever! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Staff were super friendly. As South Africans from the Cape, we are used to good fish and this fish more than met our expectations. Food was lovely and hot and super tasty. Quick and easy pre-ordering system on the website. Highly recommend.

The best fish and chip shop I’ve ever been to. We’ve been coming here for years when we are visiting the local area and can not recommend it highly enough. Delicious food freshly prepared very clean premises welcoming staff good menu and great variety of ways to order too!

The only word to describe the fish and chips is: excellent. We had the OAP lunch time meal, both of us are in our mid 70's, nice portion plus a tub of mushy peas. Beautifully cooked both fish (cod) and chips. There is a car park opposite the shop, with 2 hours free parking. If you are in the area, visit this shop, you will not be disappointed. 200 mile drive for fish and chips is a bit excessive, but it is tempting.

I find that a queue of people cannot be wrong , freshly prepared and top-quality , well-worth a visit from surrounding villages.

Not from the area but was a recommendation. When you drive there and see the massive queue they must be doing something right? The fish is amazing!! So fresh. All of the food was freshly cooked to order. Very good tradition fish and chips!

Fantastic food and service Curry sauce is the best 👌

Scampi was well stingy. And they didn't put any salt or vinegar on the chips. However, my girlfriend crushed up a bag of twiglets and sprinkled them on the chips which made them taste nice, hence, giving you two stars instead of one.

Fab chips although a tad expensive for a chippy but it's the old adage "you get what you pay for". This shop tells you the verity of potatoes the chips are made from and the names of the trawlers that provide the fish as well as if they were line or net caught! Amazing.

Found this little gem here on Trip Advisor and it was incredible! My husband said it was the best fish & chips he’d ever had! Mine was delicious too. Ordering system very easy and was lovely to see so many people waiting for a local business to feed them beautiful food.

First night of our holiday …. 4 hours setting up a caravan, awning and dog proof awning…. Decided to have fish and chips and am so glad we picked Peckish… I had Haddock and chips, hubby had S amount and chips and we had mushy peas and curry sauce… literally 10/10 cannot fault these they are up there with the best we’ve had… utterly delicious

Found this place while looking for a picnic location and it ended up being our meal. Had the hake and the portion was well worth the cost. The fries were above average and the mushy peas made us fans and now are ordering marrowfat peas to be shipped to us. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I wish I could say I would return but unfortunately Camelford a little too far to travel from the U.S. but Peckish would give me a reason to think about doing so.

Best fish and chips in Cornwall

We were staying nearby for our holiday this year and fancied a takeaway so thought we’d give Peckish a try. Fantastic fish and chips! Curry sauce was fab too. Highly recommend.

I wouldn't normally review a fish and chip shop but this is an exception. What a slick operation and what great food. I was away with my OH for a few nights in Cornwall and taking a break from eateries we decided to have some fish and chips for tea. We were staying nearby and noticed Peck 'ish when we drove past so on the back of the good reviews and it being near to our house, we gave it a whirl. Although they took online orders, being unsure of arrangements at the shop I decided to order f2f. The ordering system is impressive and really efficient with one guy collating and checking orders as they are ready and calling out for diners to collect whether they'd ordered online or in the shop. I only ordered an extra large hake, chips, peas and curry sauce. The fish was a generous size, super fresh and the batter really crispy and dry; just how I like it. The chips were also dry and crispy. The curry sauce was really good; an unusual spicy taste. Probably some of the best fish and chips I've tasted and I would highly recommend the place to anyone.

Having just moved to the village, we had to try this place and give them our support. We weren’t at all disappointed, it was a very busy evening as the music in the park was on so it was very busy. Other than that we were impressed and happy to have a great local chippy.

I’m not from the area (but now wish I was) .. so no bias on this review , but quite honestly the best chip takeaway shop I’ve been to 100% . We went for chip tapas :- - Cod bits - Scampi - Chicken Bites - Chips - Cheesy Chips - Jumbo Sausage - Fish Cake - Pineapple Fritter - Mushy Peas - Curry Sauce And it was all fantastic. Classic fluffy and crispy chips (not many small ends) nice big chunks The chicken bits are unreal 👌🏼 The curry sauce over the cheesy chips is something quite special. Scampi good size. Nice and juicy Fast service booked online. Nice and hot. Friendly staff. Really really fantastic 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼

Really good value fish and chips

Visited today with my wife. 2x cod and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Simply one of the best fish and chips we have ever had!

Having read that Peckish Fish and Chips was an Award Winner, we thought we'd give it a try, even though it is an hour away from where we live. It was well worth the journey and they clearly deserve their Award. This was was one of the best Fish and Chips Suppers we have ever had, and, having tried Fish and Chips on our many travels around the country, this comment is made with considerable objectivity. The fact that they are so busy is always a good indicator, but the result spoke for itself. The Fish and the Chips were freshly cooked and served up piping hot. The Batter on the Fish was light and cooked right though, so important to avoid soggy batter on the inside. The Chips were light and fluffy on the inside and nicely crisp on the outside. This is as close as you can get to 'Perfect' Fish and Chips and we will be making the hour long journey again with pleasure, it will be worth it !!!!

I've stopped off here for fish and chips many times over the years. It has always been so very good. The homemade tartare sauce, curry sauce etc all spot on. Price is good for the quality. Looking forward to my next visit

Deservedly highlighted as one of the best rated Fish and Chip shops in the country. Our favourite chippy and the staff are very pleasant and quality of the food is excellent. Has a two hour free parking opposite which is a added bonus.

Driving back to our holiday rented cottage in Bude we were looking out for a fish and chip shop, we spotted the sign outside and turned into the car park dead opposite. Parking free for the first 2 hours so it was easy to stop. About a quarter of a mile towards Bude there is a large lay by with 2 lots of picnic tables. We stopped there as they were free and tucked into our delicious meal. I had sausage in batter with chips and some curry sauce with a real kick to it. My wife had fish and chips with the home made tartar sauce. Absolutely loved it . Would definitely stop here again if passing.

Called in to Peckish Fish'n'chips 6.15pm'ish, ordered straight away on walking through the door. Order completed in less than 5 minutes and eaten in the car outside immediately. Excellent fish'n'chips, one small fish'n'chips & one 'normal' £19, and thoroughly enjoyed 👍 Thank you.

Blink and you may miss it. But you definitely don't want to! A small shop on a little strip with a limited amount of parking outside. There were people queued outside 10 mins before opening. The shop uses a clever system that allows for pre-ordered food, a couple of touch screens with card payments and the traditional order at the counter. The front counter is organised into sections for efficiency, and they are a well oiled machine. The bit you are probably waiting for.... The food. We ordered chicken pieces (x8), chips and a homemade curry sauce. Steak pie, chips and curry sauce. The chicken was excellent, the pie was exactly what you would want, and the chips were as good as I have ever had. They say you can judge a chip shop by their fish and chips. Although I didn't try the fish this time, I would be confident it was very good and will no doubt try that next time. The curry sauce was fantastic. Easily one of the best I have had. You can tell it's homemade. Although this chip shop is at least 20 mins from my home, it has now become the only place I would buy from. In short, wonderful food, fast turnaround, and pleasant staff who are extremely efficient. Oh, almost forgot. Reasonably priced too! 5 stars. Edit. I've been 5 or 6 times now and the consistency of the quality remains. The food is delicious every time. And the fish and chips is some of the very best I have ever had. If you are even remotely close to the shop you should go and enjoy their food.

We came here twice during our holiday to Tintagel and on each occasion the food was amazing! The chips are some of the best we have had. Even the homemade curry sauce and mushy peas are amazing. Highly recommended this place - option to place order on a screen which helps when they are busy, prices are cheap, good customer service and most importantly the food is very tasty. Best chippy around Tintagel.

Really good food, the only reason for 4* is because the order was incorrect. This was discovered when I got home as due to the how busy it was inside, I didn't check it when it was handed to me. Their policy on the wall states that once the order leaves the premises they can't change it. Make sure to check your order is correct before you leave!

Our fish and chips were the best we have had for a very long time with thick, white flakes of cod perfectly cooked in a thin and crispy batter. The chips were cooked just right for us and the overall portion size was large and good value for money. We certainly didn’t want anything else to eat for the rest of the day. The home made tartare sauce knocked spots off the usual sachets and the packaging was of a high quality and all recyclable, another plus point for me. The greeting was warm and friendly, the shop was spotlessly clean and the number of people queuing inside and out was testament to what a popular shop this is. Everything about Peckish Fish and Chips shouts quality and care. Highly recommended.

Fish and chips was good, I didn't find nothing special then other places in Cornwall, takeaway, restaurant or pubs.

Their fish and chips are excellent. Freshly cooked by polite and friendly team of staff. My only reservation is a comment on the national economic situation at present! I never imagined paying £11.05 for fish and chips.

Popped in as we fancied fish and chips when we noticed their sign. So glad we did. Service was simple and quick (touchscreen). The food was cooked to perfection without so much salt that you would have to drink lots afterwards. The portions were large and well worth the money and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Would give it a 3.5, maybe. We went here based on reviews and being on a list of one of the best in the area. I've got to say it was nothing special. For the price, we expected better. The fish was a little dry, not the worst but just a bit. It was nice batter though. The chips were dry and average. We've tried a lot of fish and chips in Cornwall, but this isn't up there at the top for us unfortunately. Definitely not the worst but not the best.

This place is exceptional. Click & Collect, Self Service Ordering and counter service. The food is all cooked fresh and when you get it it’s the best fish and chip food you will have. Prices don’t reflect the quality in my opinion as it’s really well priced

High quality fish and chip shop, I can highly recommend the Haddock. They offer kids meals in a box which all the children liked and was justvthe right portion size (children were between 3 and 7 years old). You can order ahead or order on a screen when you get there. It is very popular so be prepared for a little wait but the food was very fresh.

First class fish and chips, I really enjoyed them. Girls taking the order were welcoming and friendly too. What let the chippy down was the younger of the three men at the back, cooking the orders. He was loudly telling a story to another staff member about a TV program, which included a lot of foul language. It is not appropriate when your customers are hearing this. It's a shame, as I would have given a definite 5 stars else.

This is a good fish and chip shop. It's a shame they don't do gravy but their mushy peas were amazing! Unfortunately they forgot to put vinegar on our order but they were very busy, otherwise it was exactly what we wanted.

Absolutely delicious. The fish was a decent portion and nice and crispy and flavourful and my daughter loved the chicken chunks. Good chips and the homemade tartare sauce was divine. Staff are super friendly and online ordering and pick up slots keep the queues down. Free parking across the road makes pick up stress free. Well worth a 45 min round trip from Port Isaac. So much better than the chippy there.

This is a local fish and chip shop to me and I have used them many times with no issue, the food is good and although there is normally a wait that is never an issue for me. However yesterday evening I went in to order and was treated so rudely by a staff member that I feel compelled to write my first ever review. I arrived at the counter and was asked by a female staff member if I had come to collect an order or wanted to place an order. I said I wanted to order and was asked if I was paying by card. When I said I wanted to pay cash she rolled her eyes and tutted at me! She then begrudgingly came over to the counter, her entire body language and facial expression was angry. I was so taken aback and upset that I asked her if she would like to me to leave and go elsewhere but she said they were just busy and behind on orders. If it had not been the end of a long day for me I would have just gone to another local shop but I was tired, had been working all day and just wanted some food. She took my order and I paid but she made no apology for her rude and unkind behaviour. I completely appreciate that they are busy with holiday traffic and the preference is that majority of customers either order online or pay by card when they order but that does mean anyone should be treated with such rudeness. I understood that it was likely to be busy and was more than happy to wait to order and to then wait for my food, not an issue for me at all but I was not happy to be treated in this way. I simply wanted to order some dinner with my hard earned cash, not to be treated like something on the bottom of this staff members shoe. It really upset me. The food was good as always and a different staff member who handed me my order was smiley and nice but this experience has sadly left a bitter taste.

The setup was clear with all the boards, choice of how you order - through staff or on machine. The staff were great, especially the woman who took our order. All foods cooked to order. Fish was lovely. The chips were OK, but I guess that's more of a preference thing. People then wait outside for your order to be called. Ask for cutlery/wooden forks as they are not given or out for you to grab. A little on the pricey side, but I suppose they capture the tourists.

Very popular. You can book your order online and get a collection slot. Fish still good, chips not. Had recently and chips were dry and not very tasty. Not first time this has happened.Disappointed
