Nice pub in a great location, we were served quickly with drinks at the bar but we had no food there so I can't comment on that but I would definitely go again.

Lovely place. I went 6 years previously and I was so pleased the beef burnt ends are still on the menu..sad they came drowned in overly strong sauce now, which wiped out the lovely beef flavour

Beautiful pub in a great setting.

We find this place because the street we need to drive was closed for more than one hour and thats the only way. So we did find this delicious 🤤 restaurant. The people are friendly the meals are delicious 😋 Perfect 👍🏼 If we will come back again to Cornwall we will definitely come back to this restaurant again. A beautiful beer garden is also there. If I can give more than 5 stars I would give more than 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lovely pub for a meal. Just slightly pricey for the quality. The chips were cut in a way I've never seen before, leaving hardly any potatoes. They were like crisps.

Went for a meal this evening after hearing good reviews. Was very shocked to find the food was below average, may I add the summer greens risotto was like eating a boil in the bag rice. Fresh out of the packet into the plate. It is a shame as the venue is lovely; great spot but the food does let it down after this occasion. We did mention it to the staff and they seamed very uninterested

Recommended to us and didn't disappoint. As pubs go, this is as good as it gets. Lots of character and great outside space. Fantastic food and always a deal breaker, a top class pint of Guinness.

Great place - nice beer garden - parking can be busy but you’ll get a space eventually. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Recommend the sweet slice pizza dessert - kids loved it! My dog loved the brisket !

We went on a Sunday and enjoyed the Sunday lunch - very good value for money and excellent vegetarian options too. Dessert selection was also delicious - would recommend the sticky toffee pudding as this was a massive portion and 10/10. We also tried the chocolate factory dessert - weren’t too keen on the creme brûlé as it didn’t really have the consistency you’d expect - but otherwise, all was amazing. There was also live music when we visited which was great - perfect Sunday afternoon!

A varied menu of good quality food, all at a reasonable price. Location excellent, with plenty of outside tables.

Overall, we enjoyed our food which was clearly homemade and appreciated for that; the menu was quite creative. The fish pie wasn't mixed fish which I would have expected but was quite generous with the one fish in it, and tasty. The mains were better than the desserts. I'm not sure how my custard tart was cooked, possibly an "impossible pie" so a little heavy on the pastry layer at the bottom and served in a terracotta dish which wasn't the easiest to negotiate!

Enjoyed a late breakfast good. Dog had a great meal too.

Good pub food at reasonable prices. Small selection of ales. Nice outdoor seating with plenty of space just right for warm weather. Tucked away so no noise to disturb you. Many locals use it.

Best burger 🍔 great views only 1 thing women was smoking outside when we were eating didn't see any none smoking signs so perhaps they allow it but it's annoying they eat their food then start smoking when others are eating theirs so for that reason probably won't be back

Really lovely pub set in beautiful countryside, good parking (you’ll probably need to drive as some of the lanes are a bit iffy walking with young children) Food was great and there is plenty of seating in and outside. The dirty fries with brisket bits are amazing, as is the cheese burger.

Stumbled across the Polgoorth Inn while trying to find somewhere to eat with my wife. Absolutely loved the food, very good size potions. Excellent friendly staff. I highly recommend coming here to eat, or just for a drink if you find yourself in the area!

The Polgooth Inn is a lovely pub, with a very good ambience. Tuesday night was Paella night, and it was either a Chicken and Chorizo paella,or a Mushroom and Vegetable one. It was extremely tasty.

Every time we stay in Mevagissey for a week, we always book the Polgooth Inn for 2 evening meals ,the food is amazing, we have never had a bad meal, the beer is excellent, and the staff can't do enough for you, a massive 👍👍 up to the cooks and staff there. See y next time we are down in Mevagissey. 🍺🍺🍺

The BEST food I've ever eaten, honestly! I will be talking about that mushroom risotto for the rest of my life. The staff were sooo lovely, the interior was absolutely gorgeous and we felt very welcome there. Honestly, the food is just unreal. Thank you Polgooth Inn, that was a very special dinner!

The food was awesome. I would have had dessert but got forgotten, so I gave up waiting and paid. However, we will definitely revisit as it's a super pub, and we want to try more of the menu.

We decided to go to the polgooth Inn for breakfast and have to say it was delicious I had a normal breakfast and my husband had a large,it was hot and was more than enough,will go again

We went the the Polgooth Inn for dinner around 5pm, this is our 3rd visit to the pub, the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, drinks and food order take quickly. My other half has a pizza, but doesn't eat cheese, they made it perfectly, I had the burnt ends, really tasty and the portion was huge. Nice mixture of locals and visitors in the pub which made a lovely atmosphere. Lovely place to eat and relax with a drink.

we found & booked online 8:15pm on easter monday eve having been driving round looking for somewhere to eat. managed to get 8:45pm booking & arrived at 8:30pm to a lovely welcome by barman and waitress. Such a warm friendly atmosphere, very cosy, spacious and clean. Myself & my partner enjoyed such a tasty generous fish pie & salad, and desserts sticky toffee pudding and bread & butter pudding. staff were friendly and attentive, food was lovely and hot and served quickly. Top quality place. 15 mins from where we were staying but had no idea. Highly recommend & will visit again when next in the area. Great guiness. Thank you for a lovely relaxing evening & saving our empty bellies! 👍😃

Four people in our party . Nothing was to much trouble. The food was absolutely amazing the waitress was very very good and attended to all our needs. I cannot recommend the place enough. We will definitely be going back.

We asked for a quiet corner , it was so noisy we could not hear each other talk. My burnt steak ends was beautiful but my husbands coconut curry was hot on the outside and cold in the middle , as if it was previously frozen . Neither meals were piping hot . It took thirty minutes for a drink to arrive after asking twice and being told the bar was busy . Took twenty minutes for out desserts to arrive , with just spoons no dessert forks.

Booked for Mother’s Day and it was good. You definitely get your moneys worth. Big portions which everyone loves. I had the nachos to start, then the fish and chips for mains. The fish tasted so fresh!! With a light and crispy batter. It was a tad bit to oily but you would expect that. Dessert was good but it wasn’t what was listed. My chocolate fondant was lovely and gooey whilst my partners wasn’t. Also the crème brûlée wasn’t a crème brûlée. It was more like a chocolate ganache. A crème brûlée is suppose to be a cold custard base with Demerara sugar blow torched to become a crispy film on top. Maybe they just need to change it in the menu so people don’t get confused. But other than that it was good. Cocktails were also amazing!! The service was amazing had a lovely, very attentive girl serve us!! Would come back again.

The staff were so very friendly and accommodating. I had dietary requirements and they gave several options. I went for plain pan fried seabass with a medley of green veg virgin olive oil and lemon. It was superb 10/10 - can’t recommend highly enough

Absolutely lovely place. We went for Sunday lunch and the food and service was great, we'll be back again when we're next in Cornwall. They cater for children as well as those with allergies.

Beautiful pub and great service. The menu promises some great food the result however, without being bad, is not equally impressive. The portions are big and nicely presented. We tried the pork belly (failed the crunchy part of it), the chicken burger (ok but nothing more) and the pulled lamb pie (the only one I can recommend, nicely executed and tasty). Kid's menu was ok as the portions were big but the cooking result a bit more disappointing. The margarita base was overcooked and the beef burger so dry it was hard to chew. Overall I would give this place another chance for the ambience and service (good beer as well), but only if I am in the area.

Amazing service and delicious food

We went with our two newfoundland dogs and were made very welcome. The food was as good as promised by other friends. Dont forget to visit the little stall by the car park for lovely fresh eggs and a chance to talk to a saddleback sow. We had the catch of the day and the shepherds pie. The starters of stuffed mushrooms and crispy pigs cheek were sublime

Booked a dog-friendly table for dinner, love that there is an actual dog menu!! We had: (hubby) burnt ends of brisket; (me) fish & chips and for our dog, beef brisket. We all had a wonderful, tasty dinner. The batter on my fish was light with beautifully flaky cod. All staff we met were lovely & friendly. We will definitely have to visit again, thank you all.

Visited for a birthday celebration as a large group and had a brilliant time. The staff were friendly throughout and the service was good.

A great place, good quality food, warm and inviting with caring staff but wholly let down being so very very few choices for plainer British food. We used to go very often but we won’t be going back for a long time. Remember you are a British pub!!

The service was great. The food in general is usually very good, however I found the chicken burger was disappointing. The bun was small and the chicken only half filled it. Would have preferred the chicken butterflied and a better floury bap. Did taste nice but definitely won't order it again ..

Birthday Lunch for the Hubby - Pork Belly & The Pulled Lamb Shepherds pie both very nice & presented well, followed by the factory chocolate & sticky toffee pudding. again very nice but maybe just a little too much toffee sauce.

Been here many times and the food has always been excellent. Food was excellent plus 1, it was superb. Wife had Shepherds Pie and I had Pork Belly, will be back again that's a definite.

Visited venue over Christmas with friends, had a vegetarian strudel which was disappointing but vegetables and potatoes nice. The steak dinner was lovely. Some desserts good others no so but it was a busy service. Great atmosphere and would still recommend.

We had booked earlier for a birthday which the waiting staff knew, also a banner had been placed at our table. We were in a dog friendly area, so it lacked the ambience of the main area, I know this as we were led through this area with dogs, to the disapproval of at least one diner. On a positive note, they have a dog menu, and the bottom snoffing beer for dogs sounds worth a try! Unfortunately, after this, things did not go so well. One meal was returned as it did not contain fish, only potato, and the replacement did not arrive until after others had finished eating. A pizza contained large (1") cubes of dry lamb, which could not be eaten. Service was slow, with more than one drink order taking 15 minutes or longer (one beer ordered during the main course arrived during the desert). Though we were not charged for the fish meal, it was not the best overall experience, unfortunately. However, we made the best of it but are unlikely to return.

5 stars! Genuinely THE BEST fry up we've had in Kernow- so affordable, fresh and tasty! Choice of scrambled, fried or poached eggs. Gluten free options available. Yummy hogs pudding. Only £6.95!! Also, Jan the waitress is lovely! We'll definitely be going back soon.
