Great breakfast, friendly staff, the pub also has a relaxing atmosphere. We have also had lunch and an evening meal, all had the same service. We will be back for more, thank you once again.

Had a quick burger here. The patty was decent , couple of thin smash burgers. Plain burger sauce and gerkin on top. Bacon was meh, kinda transparent. But over all it would have been ok….if light on the effort front. BUT if you can’t pick it up to eat it, is it even a burger hey?!. brioche bun was toasted so fingers went through it when trying to pick it up. Has the chef tried it I wondered. Next time I guess try steaming that bun. Oh yeah and the coleslaw was measly portion but that was OK cause it was terrible. So room for improvement for £18! Young staff absent when trying get served. Loads on, just all avoiding doing any work 😂 Edit…. Love the response. Maybe they aren’t the pub for me…opposed to sorry we realise we could do better ! Incidentally word is they don’t allow their staff a meal if working long shifts (as they promise to staff). Just ‘chips’ so no wonder staff aren’t motivated if that’s how the owners treat young workers. Agreed you arent the pub for me.

We attended the wresth making class today, and it was amazing. The food at the pub was top notch, and the atmosphere was unmatched! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend this pub more!

Smashing Sunday lunch, very friendly and attentive staff, very cosy and a happy family atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Came in yesterday with my partners family after his parents recommended. Beautiful inside. The food is absolutely to die for. A really lovely choice on the menu too which I’ve never really seen before. We had such a lovely time, staff are amazing. Really looki if forward to coming back next year!

Lots missing from menu, strange for a busy Saturday night. Pudding very expensive for £12. For a pizza style, hardly any topping of marshmallows,brownie & sauce, hard and difficult to eat.

Heard so much about this restaurant and read so many good reviews that me and my wife decided to pay a visit on Sunday.we booked for 4.45 not too late I thought.however we were greeted by the waitress advising us that some of the menu had run out!!!this included the steak.which I thought was unforgivable as its such a popular meat and given the popularity of the restaurant they would have if anything over ordered steak rather than run out.especially as beef keeps so well and can be frozen...No excuse sorry!!!..All the ideas..sadly No gear!!

This was the 2nd time we visited the Polgooth Inn, possibly in 5 weeks or so. From being greeted upon arrival, to departure. You are treated to first class service. Attentive staff, with a go the extra mile attitude. The food is divine, and plentiful. And a vast amount of quality drinks to choose from, you are certainly well catered for. We look forward to our next trip down to the Polgooth Inn, we are planning a pre-christmas trip. With a round trip of 90 miles to get there and back. This pub certainly has made a fantastic impression on us. Keep up the truly wonderful work.

We enjoyed this pub very much. The atmosphere is perfect and we could not fault the service. Made to feel very welcome. The food is amazing, portions are very generous. My partner was taken back by how good the Guinness was. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic find - went here for breakfast enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner. Lovely friendly staff and fabulous food, spotlessly clean toilets and these guys have thought of everything to make your visit perfect

Fish pie was great, good selection of ales, healthy food options, ambiance, character, friendly staff and a great location. We’re regular travellers to Cornwall from NZ and place our new discovery up there!

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. We phoned ahead at the last minute after a change in plans and were told it was no problem and a table would be available for us. We both had roast beef and all the trimmings served on hot plates by polite friendly staff. The food was lovely and tasty and so were the gorgeous profiteroles we shared for pudding. All this is set in a lovely relaxed country inn atmosphere. We shall be returning.

This is a proper pub, very welcoming very comfortable. Superb food,had a fantastic meal here, can't recommend highly enough.

Great menu with a really amazing selection of vegan options, definitely recommend. Had a coconut, sweet potato and courgette pie from the specials menu and it was fab. Went back again the day after and had moussaka (photographed)

Great food that has rotating specials. You get a lot of Bang for your Buck, so much so that eating a three course meal is nearly impossible. Service is great and accommodating to dog owners.

Big pub in a small village. Breakfast was great and very reasonable.

Love the pub, food has always been good for me, last night I had the Garlic & Herb chicken schnitzel which was superb washed down with a couple of top notch pints of Tribute! Looking forward to next time.

This ranks in the top 3 pubs that I've had the pleasure of visiting over the last 40+years. The Sunday Roast ranks in the top 2 of Sunday dinners I've ever eaten. Everything about it was spot on and makes the start of this visit to Cornwall even better.👏👏👏

Good atmosphere, friendly barman with excellent beer. The food was not so good. My wife chose a lamb 'curry' dish but left most of it because it was totally dry with no spicy sauce. My fish pie had heaps of fish in it - top marks! - but the sauce failed to excite my palette.

Fantastic pub, relaxed atmosphere, staff are really friendly, lots of parking, outside seating areas and lots of private areas to sit and have a meal. The fish and chips were lovely, the beef Brisket bites were very tender. Reasonable prices and dog friendly. Hopefully be back soon.

If you want a real old school country pub, then this is the place. The choice of food was outstanding, the fish pie was next level. The staff are so helpful and it's super dog friendly, so much so they have their own menu.

A lovely pub on off one of the country lanes. Well kept interior with a warmth about it. Service is professional and able to answer all questions. Food is fresh, hot, and well above the standard for a pub. There is adequate onsite free parking.

Great menu choice and cooked to perfection. Good service but unfortunately our 2nd waitress lacked a smile. Busy pub environment, the car park was full when we arrived.

Visited due to recommendations from vegan friends of mine. Ordered a mushroom burger served with chips and coleslaw. The "burger" was literally a portobello mushroom in a bun (along with sweet chilli sauce and rocket), coleslaw had no dressing so simply grated cabbage & carrot, the chips were fantastic so I'll give kudos for that. In reality, I can put this dish together for less than £2 per person at home. I regrettably paid up £16.50, absolutely shocking. The least you would expect is a decently made mushroom burger patty but alas, a mediocre portobello instead. I expressed my disappointment to the server who kindly offered a free dessert but even so. I can understand a mark up for dining out, I've worked in hospitality for almost 10 years. An 800% mark up is sickening. Hope the servers get a quality wage to match these astonishing prices.

Came here as a party of nine. Service was brilliant, food was amazing. Staff were really attentive and always smiling (very rare these days). Could not recommend more highly.

Absolutely lovely country pub with perfect Cornish vibes. Food is slightly pricey, but completely worth the money. We had 4 mains, multiple drinks and 3 desserts for £125 which is good value for Cornwall. The food is absolutely delicious. Extremely dog friendly, our pooches were made to feel welcome with no issues at all. There is a separate dog menu with treats for them, but we didn't partake due to our labs dodgy tum! The bar man who served us (sorry we didn't get his name, grey hair, checkered shirt and glasses) was so friendly, amiable and approachable. He just radiated happiness when serving all customers and seemed to be genuinely lovely. The best part about this place is the desserts, the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate factory desserts were to die for. if we are in the area again I'd most definitely visit again. 100% recommended for couples, families, and dogs too.

Superb rustic pub with fabulous food and welcoming staff.

Great little pub serving a superb range of decent food. Staff are incredibly friendly. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is we were seated with several families with young children, which was less than ideal for us, otherwise it's definitely one we'll return to.

Nice pub in a great location, we were served quickly with drinks at the bar but we had no food there so I can't comment on that but I would definitely go again.

Lovely place. I went 6 years previously and I was so pleased the beef burnt ends are still on the menu..sad they came drowned in overly strong sauce now, which wiped out the lovely beef flavour

We find this place because the street we need to drive was closed for more than one hour and thats the only way. So we did find this delicious 🤤 restaurant. The people are friendly the meals are delicious 😋 Perfect 👍🏼 If we will come back again to Cornwall we will definitely come back to this restaurant again. A beautiful beer garden is also there. If I can give more than 5 stars I would give more than 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lovely pub for a meal. Just slightly pricey for the quality. The chips were cut in a way I've never seen before, leaving hardly any potatoes. They were like crisps.

Went for a meal this evening after hearing good reviews. Was very shocked to find the food was below average, may I add the summer greens risotto was like eating a boil in the bag rice. Fresh out of the packet into the plate. It is a shame as the venue is lovely; great spot but the food does let it down after this occasion. We did mention it to the staff and they seamed very uninterested

Recommended to us and didn't disappoint. As pubs go, this is as good as it gets. Lots of character and great outside space. Fantastic food and always a deal breaker, a top class pint of Guinness.

We only popped in for a drink on the way back from vault beach. Nice inn. A good choice of food n drinks. Good beer garden and even a dog menu too

Great place - nice beer garden - parking can be busy but you’ll get a space eventually. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Recommend the sweet slice pizza dessert - kids loved it! My dog loved the brisket !

We went on a Sunday and enjoyed the Sunday lunch - very good value for money and excellent vegetarian options too. Dessert selection was also delicious - would recommend the sticky toffee pudding as this was a massive portion and 10/10. We also tried the chocolate factory dessert - weren’t too keen on the creme brûlé as it didn’t really have the consistency you’d expect - but otherwise, all was amazing. There was also live music when we visited which was great - perfect Sunday afternoon!

A varied menu of good quality food, all at a reasonable price. Location excellent, with plenty of outside tables.

Overall, we enjoyed our food which was clearly homemade and appreciated for that; the menu was quite creative. The fish pie wasn't mixed fish which I would have expected but was quite generous with the one fish in it, and tasty. The mains were better than the desserts. I'm not sure how my custard tart was cooked, possibly an "impossible pie" so a little heavy on the pastry layer at the bottom and served in a terracotta dish which wasn't the easiest to negotiate!

Enjoyed a late breakfast good. Dog had a great meal too.

Good pub food at reasonable prices. Small selection of ales. Nice outdoor seating with plenty of space just right for warm weather. Tucked away so no noise to disturb you. Many locals use it.

Best burger 🍔 great views only 1 thing women was smoking outside when we were eating didn't see any none smoking signs so perhaps they allow it but it's annoying they eat their food then start smoking when others are eating theirs so for that reason probably won't be back

Really lovely pub set in beautiful countryside, good parking (you’ll probably need to drive as some of the lanes are a bit iffy walking with young children) Food was great and there is plenty of seating in and outside. The dirty fries with brisket bits are amazing, as is the cheese burger.

Stumbled across the Polgoorth Inn while trying to find somewhere to eat with my wife. Absolutely loved the food, very good size potions. Excellent friendly staff. I highly recommend coming here to eat, or just for a drink if you find yourself in the area!

The Polgooth Inn is a lovely pub, with a very good ambience. Tuesday night was Paella night, and it was either a Chicken and Chorizo paella,or a Mushroom and Vegetable one. It was extremely tasty.

Every time we stay in Mevagissey for a week, we always book the Polgooth Inn for 2 evening meals ,the food is amazing, we have never had a bad meal, the beer is excellent, and the staff can't do enough for you, a massive 👍👍 up to the cooks and staff there. See y next time we are down in Mevagissey. 🍺🍺🍺

The BEST food I've ever eaten, honestly! I will be talking about that mushroom risotto for the rest of my life. The staff were sooo lovely, the interior was absolutely gorgeous and we felt very welcome there. Honestly, the food is just unreal. Thank you Polgooth Inn, that was a very special dinner!

The food was awesome. I would have had dessert but got forgotten, so I gave up waiting and paid. However, we will definitely revisit as it's a super pub, and we want to try more of the menu.

We decided to go to the polgooth Inn for breakfast and have to say it was delicious I had a normal breakfast and my husband had a large,it was hot and was more than enough,will go again

We went the the Polgooth Inn for dinner around 5pm, this is our 3rd visit to the pub, the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, drinks and food order take quickly. My other half has a pizza, but doesn't eat cheese, they made it perfectly, I had the burnt ends, really tasty and the portion was huge. Nice mixture of locals and visitors in the pub which made a lovely atmosphere. Lovely place to eat and relax with a drink.

we found & booked online 8:15pm on easter monday eve having been driving round looking for somewhere to eat. managed to get 8:45pm booking & arrived at 8:30pm to a lovely welcome by barman and waitress. Such a warm friendly atmosphere, very cosy, spacious and clean. Myself & my partner enjoyed such a tasty generous fish pie & salad, and desserts sticky toffee pudding and bread & butter pudding. staff were friendly and attentive, food was lovely and hot and served quickly. Top quality place. 15 mins from where we were staying but had no idea. Highly recommend & will visit again when next in the area. Great guiness. Thank you for a lovely relaxing evening & saving our empty bellies! 👍😃
