We regularly visit this lovely eatery for lunch, dinner and drinks (amazing cocktails!) Food is tasty and inventive with an Asian twist. Staff are welcoming and friendly and this place is well worth a visit. Don’t expect fine dining, but enjoy good food with friendly service.

Small boutique restaurant with unique menu. Staff friendly and good service. Food was nice but I wasn’t blown away by it like some reviewers seem to have been.

We stumbled across this place on a Sunday afternoon about 3pm whilst looking for a spot of lunch, when a lot of the other pubs and eateries were closing until the evening. We sat in the lovely garden area across a couple of tables. Four of us opted for the Crab sandwich, and one picked the Cornish Rarebit with bacon. The absolute blissful, euphoric silence that descended upon our group as we all tucked in was deafening. I shall have dreams about that crab sandwich - it didn't skimp on the filling, and the bread wasn't too thick. My friends rarebit also smelled fantastic and he vouched that it tasted as such. Delightful, friendly, and accommodating staff. A beautiful little space. If you're in the area, its worth searching this place out.

Small place, ran by only a few people. We managed to get a table due to someone else not showing up. Menu is not what you would expect from a sea side location but the food really is excellent and very well priced. Service is unique and charming. All food is cooked in a double electric AGA style oven. Really worth giving this place a try if you can get it.

Visited here with our 5 year old, amazing little place! Exceptional service and lovely food. Definitely different to most of the other places in Fowey! We shared the small plates, all great- I’d recommend the Indonesian meatballs & halloumi dish. This place is a hidden gem! Thank you for a fab meal.

An amazing experience. Absolutely delicious food and great service. Do give it a try - quite unexpected. Served 16 of us and each plate of food was superb.

We didn’t have a reservation but they squeezed us in for an early dinner. The food was delicious, in particular the beef rendang and the chef even offered me the recipe. Really nice service would recommend eating here

Amazing food, very tasty, freshly prepared. We had the soup of the day and one of the frittatas and as a dessert the homemade Clementine and almond cake with blueberries with added ice cream. Highly recommend

Outstanding supper. So many different offerings and flavours. This is perfect home cooking and you can see the chefs in the home kitchen cooking. It’s so cosy and It felt like being at someone’s house rather than a stark, non atmospheric modern restaurant. Exceptional service - just perfect.

This is a wonderfully quirky restaurant. What it isn't: it's not cheap and it's not boujee. What it is, is a welcome break from chain and 'trendy' restaurants. It really feels like eating in someone's living room. A nice cosy upper middle class living room, with great food. I'm not sure if the staff were family but that is the feeling you get. I had the Thai fish curry and it was delicious and filling. It was packed with salmon, white fish, scallops and prawns, in a wonderfully rich and creamy sauce. I had tap water with my meal and a coffee afterwards. I came on a very wet Monday lunchtime, and I think that might be the best time to visit. It was just me and two other tables. It felt very peaceful and relaxed. Criticisms: I could have done with a tiny bit more sauce (because it was so good!).

It’s easy to walk by and not notice this place but you MUST go in if you love tasty food. We loved every mouthful. Had a few of the small plates. Indonesian meatballs, sticky pork, pak choi and beans. And dog friendly!

We had a great dinner here. The food is local, fresh and delicious. Service was very good too. You'll definitely need to book even in winter.

Eating at the Dwelling House is truly an experience not to be missed in Fowey. A hidden gem with the most incredible and varied menu. Fancy little plates? Tick. Fancy a bigger plate? Tick? Got eyes bigger than your stomach? Tick. The crab crostini are incredible, then there’s the Vietnamese style scallops, the whipped feta, the beef rendang, incredible fish curries... I couldn’t love this place more. Fabulous people, fabulous food.

Brilliant place to go for evening dinner. Delicious Indonesian flavours, superbly cooked. Chef is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Staff are lovely. Our best meal anywhere for a long time. Delicate flavours, cooked to perfection, presented beautifully. Highly recommend.

Lovely restaurant with absolutely beautiful food and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu is mostly South East-Asian inspired dishes with plenty of seafood options, and a couple of more Mediterranean style items. I had a Sri Lankan Hake curry, which was light, fresh, and perfectly spiced. I also got to taste the salmon with dal and the lamb giouvetsi which were both very tasty (I would choose the lamb if I visited again). For dessert, I chose a warm plum cake which was light, sweet but not too decadent. It was a great finish to the meal. Prices were around 18-20 for a main, which I thought was reasonable given the area and the quality of food. The staff were very pleasant and we enjoyed a couple of laughs with them. I'd recommend booking as it seemed busy.

A special “hidden” gem with a secret courtyard garden dining area. Great home made food, lovely atmosphere with helpful, friendly staff. It’s very easy to miss it from the roadside. Look out for the little blackboards, else you would think it’s just a B&B.

A delicious meal following a trip up the river. The food is a fusion of Thai, Vietnamese, Italian and Indonesia. The Lady owner is the cook and she is a super talent.

Delicious food (we had crab sandwich, crab frittata and crab rarebit!), really kind staff, and a lovely atmosphere inside. My dog was welcomed and the staff kindly sat us in a quieter room for her benefit. Highly recommended, would visit again!

We were unexpectedly blown-away by the food at this delightful, unassuming restaurant. The menu is 'world fusion' and everything we had was creatively conceived and expertly executed. The Thai chicken curry was one of the finest I've enjoyed. Great cocktails too especially my frozen margarita. The small courtyard garden is a pretty haven, and everyone was super friendly and welcoming, including to our dog. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the South West.

We did the walk from Polperro and were late getting back. Looking for food at 9pm most places had stopped serving. At the Dwelling House some people in the front room called out to us through the open window and said how good the food was. They were right, we had an excellent Thai seafood curry, Italian meatballs and salad. It was excellent and the people there were very friendly. It felt like going to a good friend’s house for dinner.

The four of us only had main meals, desert and afogatos. The Greek style slow cooked lamb was fantastic and provided a real “comfort food” experience. The Thai Yellow fish/seafood curry was also a hit. Service was very friendly. I’d not hesitate to go here again. We had the “study” room which provided a quiet and intimate dining experience.

What a fabulous quirky evening we had with private dining in the old sitting room. The eclectic menu didn’t disappoint and coffee and cocktails in the walled garden was perfect. Definitely coming back .

Remarkably good. Was uncertain if one kitchen could deliver on such a diverse menu but they did - excellent dishes all round and even the Italian in our group was happy with the pasta. Chef was very reassuring when I was unsure if my dish was vegan (to the point of showing me the vegan fish sauce brand they use!) Cocktails also great. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic meal here, lovely and homely venue with attentive and friendly staff. The food was incredible, everything from our starters to dessert were prepared to perfection, with every bite a treat to the senses. I highly recommend this place - it was such a good find, if you’re ever in Fowey and looking for a real treat, this is it.

The food here was wonderful, like a proper hearty home-cooked meal. The only improvement is the toilet - a little odd set up. Overall, would highly recommend purely based on the food & service.

We only went out for dinner, but got so much more! Wonderful atmosphere, fabulous service, the best cocktails and totally amazing food!! Already cannot wait to return. Would not hesitate in recommending. The best fish curry I have ever tasted. Thank you for making the last night of our holiday so memorable xx

Delicious Cornish rarebit with a lovely large pot of tea. Very much recommended on a chilly December Saturday. We will be back.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere serving light snacks and drinks

Used to often go the the Dwelling House about 3 years ago. Really enjoyed going. They had a brilliant selection of Homemade cakes, scones, breads. Great choice of food on offer on their menu. The pictures are of how it used to be back then. Also had two rooms available for tables so plenty of seating and space I would have recommended it back then to everyone. Big 10 out if 10 for service and choice and cost. Visited again on the 12/11/22 to find it completely changed. Now very few tables available but luckily had one free. Hardly any choice of cake , basically 3 to choose from Wanted a bacon sandwich but had no bacon. Opted for tea for two, and two toasted sandwiches one cheese and one cheese and ham. £17.00 for the two toasties !! Served on plates that were way to small to be practical with almost more garnish than toasties. Service freindly but slow. Shame as it used to be such as nice place to go before. Sometimes I feel that changes are not always for the best.

What a wonderful little restaurant in the heart of Fowey. The food and service is fabulous. Nothing too much trouble for the wonderful staff. A must try place to visit, their secret garden is a lovely place to enjoy an afternoon drink too.

Delicious food and freshly cooked with a menu that's refreshingly different from the norm. Recommended by host we were staying with and I would second their recommendation.

You will not regret trying the global menu, our Thai yellow fish was wonderful, and the Greek lamb salad was just as complex and rich. Be patient with the hosts, this is a small operation run by family but it is worth it. The rooms are small, so you can enjoy the company of others if you want. An understated but really good experience, probably best enjoyed by adults due to the bijou size. Go and be surprised...

Not your average restaurant! Take a break from Fowey’s pub restaurants and try this place. We did and didn’t regret it. Fusion of Asian cuisine, individually cooked for you. Excellent cocktails and the utmost friendliness of the staff and owners. We’ll be back!

Just brilliant! So unique and authentic ! Wonderful eclectic menu well executed and a lovely team working the room.

Ate here tonight as a party of four with a very short notice booking. Staff were absolutely fantastic and very, very welcoming. I can state that I have never eaten in a more relaxed and laid back restaurant which was balanced with a nothing is too much trouble attitude from staff - wonderful. Food is absolutely stunning and cooked to order with no pressure or rush. It's easy to see why it is so popular - because it is so good. We tried a mix of Asian inspired / Mediterranean inspired meals and were not disappointed. Simply superb restaurant with superb food. Highly recommend and WILL return.

We have enjoyed very much our visit. Attentive service, good atmosphere, food was finely prepared and served slowly, with care. Prices were also moderate for a very popular touristic spot. Totally recommend.

Brilliant, no more needs to be said.

We found this quirky little place for lunch. We had focaccia toastie with courgette, sun dried tomato and mozzarella, and a fresh crab sandwich on granary bread. Good wholesome food,washed down with a beer and pot of tea. All very enjoyable. Reasonably priced. One comment would be that the toilet facilities could do with a bit of a makeover,quite an odd setup.

What a find! Holidaying in Fowey for a few days, out of season; we passed this quaint restaurant, offering a different and a delicious sounding menu. We were lucky enough to be able to book a table. We were not disappointed, the dishes tasted as delicious as they sounded. The staff were very attentive and polite. The service was excellent! Would definitely recommend this place! Keep up the good work!

Four of us ate dinner here yesterday evening. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. A varied menu with excellent wine. The small dining room has an intimate atmosphere which was ideal for for conversation, unlike so many noisy venues. We will certainly return.

Two friends and I are in Fowey to celebrate being 65 and I booked a table at The Dwelling House as the reviews were so good, we just had to visit. Not disappointed at all! Adam served the most delicious cocktails, the table service was excellent and Teresa’s food was divine! A must if you are in Fowey. This team have pulled together in what has been a challenging and difficult time and diversified… and boy, has it paid off! Just wonderful… thank you Dwelling House for a memorable evening.. Lovely fresh food and friendly atmosphere.

Been here quite a few times in the past years always found it to be very welcoming, staff and owners, food always fresh and tasty, pretty good prices, doing more in the way of meals, we had tea and cakes this time, but going back to check out the meals next time, think it may be best to book.

What a find! A lovely secret garden at the back provides a secluded escape form the crowds on Fore Street. The menu has a range on delicious sharing plates and great wines and cocktails. The staff of friendly and welcoming.

Had the most amazing lunch here today. Sat in the sunny courtyard and ordered from a varied menu of reasonably priced anti-pasti and light bites. Really lovely food and excellent service and a great wine menu too. Highly recommended.

Probably one of the best breakfasts we had in a long time! Perfectly poached eggs on yummy buttery toast. Delicious coffee too! We visited on sunny day and sat outside, in the beautiful courtyard. Yet to try the sweet menu but I am sure it is as great as savoury selection.

Annual Mecca! A trip to Polruan, Boddinick or Fowey is not complete without a visit here. Comfortable, friendly environment and good cakes and fab tea selection

Traditional tea shop selling q wide range of homemade cakes etc. Lovely place and it's right in the town centre. Deservedly popular.

Wow, a very peaceful and traditional tea room with a good menu and well catering for most dietary requirements. Some lovely features including the rest room which is like being at home. Friendly and helpful staff, with many drinks, sandwiches and deserts on offer. Plus other options. We would definitely visit this place again if we visited the area again

Been meaning to write this for a while. This is a lovely gem of a restaurant hidden behind the Cornish stone exterior walls. In the summer have breakfast in the little garden, but in winter, just relax in the warm and cosy dining rooms. Can thoroughly recommend the scrambled eggs and any variation on the full breakfast.The service isn't the quickest, but that because it's all cooked fresh and it's most definitely worth being just a little bit patient. Great team behind the counter and I hope you guys all enjoy your break. Will see you again in March!

My Mum and I recently paid you a visit before the Fowey Christmas Markets. We had the most wonderful hot ginger cake and cream with local tregothan tea. I was very pleasantly surprised about your baby changing facilities and clean they were. We will be back and highly recommend you as a place for good tea and delicious cakes

The most amazing Cornish cream tea and toasted teacakes all baked on site. The scones were probably one of the best I ever had. Very charming and quaint and friendly staff. The cakes all looked delicious too.

Lovely cream tea with good seletion of loose tea. Nice to see a choice of plain, fruit or chesse scones, hot or oold with a good choice of jam, raspberry being one and happens to be my favourite, all jams and clotted creams are unlimited and you are given extra water for your pot of tea. My Husband had a toasted tea cake and he said best he ever had! All served on a nice one tier cake plate. Can not fault the service and staff. I hightly recommended this tea rooms, definately worth a visit.

A lovely, charming tea room. A grouo of 6 popped in for an afternoon treat. The waitress was very helpful. There was a large variety of teas and cakes, including gluten free. The cakes we had were delicious. I will definitely return on my next visit to Fowey.

This is a traditional tea rooms that punches well above its weight. It looks a bit staid and ordinary but everything you have in there will be excellent. We had crab sandwiches - as good as I've had anywhere ever. And the Cornish cream tea is excellent. If you want more jam or cream, just ask. The scones are perfect. They have about 30 teas - you'll like one of them.

Pop in here for lunch or afternoon tea. great choice of cakes . Carrot cake excellent plus some more unusual combinations. Old fashioned decor in a characterful style
