We stayed at the Old Sunday school next to the cafe. We went for a coffee one morning and breakfast on our last morning. The breakfast was sensational and fairly priced. We would definitely recommend visiting this Cafe if you are passing through or staying in Dent.

Stopped for coffee and cake but wish we’d had room for lunch ! Menu is amazing with so much choice. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious honestly. Next time we will definitely stop for lunch or Sunday lunch as that menu also looked truly amazing !! Oh and the coffee and cake was delicious!!!

We stayed for a couple of nights in the attached accommodation to the cafe. Fabulous cottage with a hot tub. Great accommodation and lovely little luxurious touches such as awesome shower/washing essentials. Accommodation also has a smart TV with access to loads of channels too and a well equipped kitchen area and a lovely log fire We ate breakfast on the Saturday and wow it was amazing Freshly cooked Super quality Amazing portions We took a few home baked things with us too for later such as the most amazing apple pie and sausage roll. We also booked in for Sunday dinner and the biggest problem we had with this is that it ended. Food was stunning!!!! Gorgeous and beautifully cooked roast beef, yummy Yorkshire puddings and the roast potatoes (with marmite) are wow. Walked from Sedbergh to Dent and found every pub in Dent closed at lunchtime! How lucky are we, because we found this fabulous bistro/cafe. Really friendly staff and gorgeous home made food - even a dog treat for our dachshund Frank. Food was so good we paid to take some away for our evening meal. A hidden treasure for sure

On our arrival, we were greeted with a real sense of kindness and village experience. We headed out for an adventure and landed here in Dent we decided to try a lightweight as we were a little late as driving everywhere that day. We ordered the Bistro poutine Beefy jus, Fri,tes, and Garstang cheddar, I have to say that these had to be the best "cheese chips and gray " we have ever had and we are connaisseurs with the luxury item I had to think for a second as they reminded me of the taste of either lard or beef dripping they were cooked in so I would love to know. Thank you for opening our minds and taste buds as these were actually incredible and made our whole day. Not just gravy and chips these had class.

We visited Meadowside cafe this afternoon in Dent having wanted to visit for months. For a Monday afternoon it was fairly busy indicating good food. We were met by friendly staff and shown to a table. We ordered coffees then spiced chicken, salad and chips on a soft flatbread with mint yogurt and a ribeye steak sandwich with caramelised onions and Stilton cheese, followed by raspberry ripple ice cream from the milking parlour. We shared meals and everything was delicious. We know we will return. They do a bistro night on Friday and Saturday with a fabulous menu which we intend to book. Highly recommend.

Walking through the stunning village of Dent I popped into this warm , friendly and comfortable cafe , the food was amazing , all big portions and beautifully presented , even took away the homemade sausage rolls and a selection of cakes to see me through my walk …seriously good food , especially for the prices paid , lots of local produce and great coffee too ….I’d book a table if a group as this is the place to eat if your in the area ….. and deservedly so !

Lovely and surprisingly modern cafe in the beautiful village of Dent. When the log burner is roaring, it’s the perfect antidote to a day of walking. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Came twice for lunch and had festive “Rudolph (venison) Burgers “ , Indian fish fingers (v fresh) and a VERY GOOD carrot cake. Great friendly owners and lovely dogs. Highly recommended.

Visited for breakfast after having a fantastic lunch a few days earlier. Again the food was superb and great value for money. We were amazed at the new variety of home made cakes that were on display. Adrian and Jackie were great hosts. We had the Mushrooms on toast with a gruerre cheese topped and the Eggs Benedict. This was followed by some scones and home made clotted cream to take away. All the food was excellent.

Beautiful little place in a stunning little village. Popped in for lunch and had one of the best meals during our weeks holiday in the Lake District. Homemade and fresh. Welcoming and friendly staff. Was so nice we went back for breakfast a few days later. Highly recommend.

Just spent a wonderful 10 days holidaying in Dent and this cafe was an integral part of our break. Coffee and cake was our reward for a good days walking and the fayre on offer here was splendid. We also visited for a Bistro evening where the choice, quality and quantity of food was top-notch - I can especially recommend the Lamb Curry Naan Wrap. The team were so warm and friendly and offered advice on various walking routes. We are missing it already.

We called in on Friday evening after a walk. The staff were very helpful The food was in very generous portions. This cafe is very cosy there is also a outside area that looked nice. Will visit again when in the area.

Went to the Bistro night that we saw advertised on the chalkboard outside. Greeted so warmly and the service was outstanding. The chef even came out to chat to us and the other customers at the end which was lovely. The food was incredible - good choice on the menu without it being so much you get overwhelmed. Tasty, fresh and well cooked meals and the desserts were to die for. Great value too. After a really disappointing experience at the local pub the night before this was a welcome night out. We left with full, happy tummys. Definitely book in if you’re staying in the area

We had a lovely stay in the Old Sunday School Studio on August bank holiday weekend. The little studio behind the tea rooms is the perfect cabin for two people. It was warm, comfortable and clean with plenty of amenities and space for the two of us. As it's owned by the couple at the Meadowside Cafe, we stopped by for drinks, coffee and breakfast a couple of times. The cake was some of the best I've ever, the breakfast equally delicious, and the service and facilities left nothing to be wanted. We couldn't have asked for more in a COVID-climate that has made eating out a bit more difficult. We felt perfectly comfortable and really enjoyed our stay!!

The friendly owners of this lovely café in the quaint village of Dent have given the locals an excellent service all through lockdown with their Friday takeaway coffees, teas, delicious homemade cakes, and their Saturday night themed takeaways. Now the café is open again and we had the most amazing afternoon tea on Yorkshire Day. Can’t wait to try your tapas menu very soon

We decided that we needed a trip out and where better than the Yorkshire Dales. Weather was a bit unpredictable, but we decided to chance it anyway. We had heard of this cafe from a friend and the village sounded lovely so we headed up to check it out. It did not disappoint.With all the craziness happening in the world at the moment, takeaway was all that was available (thankfully the rain had stopped) so we grabbed ourselves some food, drinks and cake and headed back to the car. I had a meatball marinara panini which was divine and my husband had a chorizo roll and a beer, bacon and cheese tart. (Both of which I never got a chance to taste) they even made a nice simple cheese sandwich for my little girl and the dog got spoilt with treats. Everyone was happy. On arriving home we decided to grab our raspberry, chocolate stout cakes and a cuppa. It is one of the best cakes i have ever had. So good I had to eat faster to stop the husband stealing it from me. If you are ever in the area, please go and support local. They are opening up inside from the 4th July. Plus check out the views from the terrace. Amazing.

Dropped by for a late lunch. Lovely selection of food with a great “twist” on the normal. Had the rarebit with local Dent beer in it, My daughter had the cheesy chips and said they were delicious The brownie was amazing too! Nice touch stocking local gin and beer. Will definitely go back.

I have visited 'The Meadowside' for over ten years, and have found it consistently excellent. On a recent visit, in mid-December 2019, I met the new owners, Jackie and Adrian. I received a warm welcome and found that the food is still of the very highest standard and reasonably priced. An excellent place for a leisurely meal in a great atmosphere. The Meadowside is well worth a visit - just a three minute walk from the Dent Village car park. Don't miss it !!! John

Two days in a row, two breakfasts and a warm and friendly welcome with a lovely selection of food. Nothing was too much trouble, they catered for my friend with massive allergies with ease. Lovely wood burning stove in the cafe too, to keep the chill away. Top spot!

Popped in for breakfast. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. I had the fluffy American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup they were as described fluffy but more importantly delicious. Only downside was that I could have had a jug of maple syrup but that is my sweet tooth and fortunately they saved my weight from fluctuating any more than necessary by providing what most people would describe as sufficient. My other half hsd the full English breakfast which looked amazing and I am told tasted just as nice.

Wonderful visit to Dent yesterday with such beautiful scenery. Visited this lovely cafe, where we sampled a homemade lemon muffin and a bacon & egg butty. Real homely feel and the new owners Jackie and Adrian made us very welcome. Would definitely recommended for a lunch or cakes.

Now under new ownership , but I’ve visited many times over the years and it is always fantastic. Excellent food and great service. The old owner had a cracking set of jubblies on her. A site to behold

All the usual variations on an espresso here, and also cafetieres available. Delicious coffee, without the bitter aftertaste that sometimes comes with cheaper ground coffee. Sandwiches with fresh salad and the home baked ham was just that, and really yummy. Not big portions - but fair for the price. Generous portion of home made crumble, and also freshly baked cake as well. Friendly staff, quick service, comfortable, good sized table, reasonable prices. Recommend ++ and will definitely return

Stayed in Dent for the music and beer festival and called in here for a lunch snack and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pulled pork in a fresh bap....really tasty and filling.

What a super little find in the village of Dent. A great little friendly cafe with excellent selections of coffees, teas, and anything else you may wish to drink. The hot chocolate was exceptional and the caramel slices were out of this world! Service was excellent, and very friendly. They also serve main meals and have a good selection of menu items. We would highly recommend anyone to come and enjoy this cafe!

called in for a cuppa and a cake after our walk. Gluten free for my husband which was millionaire shortbread I had the same it was lovely. Half a slice might have done me. The tea was really nice probably the good water and Yorkshire tea. welcoming and nice café.

We love coming here for family occasions - we are well looked after and the quizzes on the mats are great entertainment ! The fish and chip teas on the last Saturday of the month are a great favourite with us and nothing is too much trouble for Sara and her team . She did us a delicious platter of sandwiches for the arrival of guests from the USA the day before a family wedding in Dent.

A lovely stop on our Bank Holiday Tuesday trip out. Super cakes, really nice hot chocolate. They have Simon Drew placemats to keep your brain busy, and if you get stuck they sell the answers for £1, donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care, which is a great idea!

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat on our way to our accommodation. We both had toasties with chips along with coffee's, so nothing too stretching to make, but never the less we really enjoyed it all.

We stopped in here after a long walk the homemade vegetable with red lentil soup was delicious! Tasty paninis too. The cakes looked very tempting carrot, chocolate and ale, flapjack all homemade. Friendly staff and lovely fire perfect on a cold March day.

Lovely cafe and bar went for lunch and as I am a celiac it was a pleasure to find a very knowledgable staff and a good range of food on the menu for me to choose from had the three bean casserole followed by caramel shortcake with a latte to wash it down and my wife loved her scampi all in all a lovely place to visit and will go again

A gorgeous gem in a beautiful cobbled village of Dent. We had the pleasure of holidaying here and this cafe was a pleasure to use for our Coffee and Cake, and on a hot day our Icecream. Lovely service, decor and staff. Always happy to provide an excellent service with a smile. Will be back there again soon.

I had a cake made with beer and chocolate (doesn't sound something you could make nasty!). This was the best chocolate cake that I have ever eaten. Very moist and fresh. Had a taste of the carrot cake and that was just as exceptional with plumped-up sultanas, light but moist.

We have not visited Dent for some time and decided to stop and have something to eat this cafe as it looked very clean and inviting my husband ordered the breakfast bun and I had toasted tea cake I also tried one of his sausages...

Lovely little cafe, but both our breakfasts were overcooked with a shrivelled up sausage and crisp black pudding! Very nice waitress though and we enjoyed doing the puzzles on the placemats whilst we were waiting!

We were a party of 9 who turned up close to closing, we were made very welcome and everyone was able to eat their first choice of food, there was a good choice considering we arrived so late in the day. We would definitely go again if we are in the area, highly recommend it.

Visited Dent and came across this lovely clean and smart cafe. Great coffee and cake (especially the carrot cake). Superb service from the friendly staff. A great find!

I have been using Meadowside Cafe for 7/8 years. The food is always excellent and is matched by the service from the friendly staff. Totally recommended.

Stopped for coffee and home made cakes. Both were excellent. Our dog was welcomed and offered dog biscuits. We wished they opened in the evening for dinner as we would have come back.

Visited here a few times over the years. Staff are great and location is perfect. Unfortunatly the food isn't the greatest and they could do more to make this place perfect.The breakfast menu although plentiful seems to cover everything but it's way to greasy and overcooked.1 occasion ordered poached egg with toast but was told it's fried or nothing as fried was all that was on the menu.Love the village but with this being the only cafe in the village it needs to accommodate it's customers better and be more diverse.

Our group went in for the fish and chip meal on Saturday evening. We enjoyed large portion of well cooked Haddock and chips I had a glass of the local Dent beer with the food. All in all an excellent meal and I would well recommend any one to call in.

Popped in on a cycle ride for tea and flapjack, made welcome and all was good. Pot of tea gave me several cups and the flapjack was just right - not too hard or soft.

Visited on a Sunday. Brought 10 hungry cyclists, knowing they might be busy I rang in advance and they set aside a couple of tables for us. Great food, prompt and friendly service, fair prices. Just what we wanted before we set off up that big hill through Gawthrop into Barbondale. It was a new stop for most of the riders but they were all favourably impressed.

On a Saturday this little cafe provides first rate Fish and Chips you can either take out or sit in, we took ours home. The fish was excellent and of a good size, the chips were fresh and home made and a bonus were gluten free a must if in the area on a Saturday.

Just managed to catch the Meadowside Cafe bar before closing time. The coffee was hot and strong and the cakes were homemade and deilicious. We loved the Simon Drew placemats ( so much that I bought a set!) The cafe bar is well decorated and with a homely but contemporary feel. Dent is a charming,small but unusual Dales village and Meadowside is a fresh twist on the "Ye Olde tearoom" model.
