We have been to the restaurant on many occasions and the food is excellent and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Excellent food in a calm and sophisticated setting. The chocolate and passion fruit tart was a particular highlight- I also enjoyed the venison

We ate here last Saturday night and expectations were quite high from reading some reviews on here. Firstly its a little awkward to get to on foot.. The dining room has attempted to be decorated nicely but its somewhat like a retirement home. the service was good and friendly. Our starters were fine but the horror show came on the mains - we both had the steak which came drenched in this "paris butter" but tasted like it was just rolled in a cheap curry powder - it stank and in all honesty was gross.. We couldnt eat these so had them replaced but even the replacement steaks were tough. I wouldnt have any interest in eating here again

Me and my partner came here for our anniversary dinner and food was horrific; vegetables soggy, tofu tasteless, steak smothered in a poorly seasoned butter sauce, over cook pheasant, Wine was essentially battery acid, need I go on? Very disappointed. Would generally rather pay the equivalent for an uncooked sweet potato Cannot speak on rooms/hotel experience. Staff were friendly. Come on, do better.

Absolutely beautiful location, lovely atmosphere, food was delicious, waiters first class nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend. Ten out of ten. Well definitely go back.

Amazing service and great food. We were struggling to get a taxi there and they waited for us, even sending a list of numbers for us and booking us a taxi back. Here for the weekend celebrating a birthday. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at the hotel and had our evening meal here. The restaurant provides very good and modern cooking. My venison was beautifully cooked, with vegetables and potatoes very attractively arranged alongside, and my desert of chocolate with chilli was pleasantly unusual. Our waitress was very friendly, although service was a little slow, even though the restaurant was not busy, but we were not in a hurry. I would happily eat here again if I was in the area.

I'll never tire of writing up a review on the back of a visit to the Yew Tree restaurant, because my partner and, along with friends occasionally, always have the most perfect time there and on the occasion of our first ever Christmas Day lunch out, they didn't disappoint. In fact they just excelled even more. It was a 5 course banquet of delicious food and it was so pleasing to see how many other guests were there on this special time of the year. The service was paced just right and atmosphere, along with the tastefully decorated venue was really relaxing and enjoyable. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, so if you haven't been there, or you're encouraged on the back of my many reviews, which trust me get seen by hundreds of people, then just go there and sample the whole experience for yourself, as I am confident you will have a wonderful time. Don't go in January though, as the family owners go on a long holiday back to their home base in Capetown.

Both the restaurant and hotel are excellent. Service, facilities and food spot on. The rump beef dish and sirloin steak were fantastic. Accompanied by a nice bottle of house white. All the staff are warm and friendly. We booked our room and dinner last minute on the morning of the evening we wanted to stay. The executive double room (209) was spacious, contemporary, fitted with quality interior and very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good.

We booked last minute as fancied a Sunday Roast … we were in the restaurant within 15mins and sitting down. My wife went for the mushroom starter whilst I opted for the tomato soup. Both were really tasty and the portions decent We both went for Roasted Sirloin Beef, which came with cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, broccoli, roasted carrot, 4 roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding .. Portions were good, presentation excellent, service excellent and the taste was superb.. The only complaint I have is that it needs to have a little more gravy (it comes in individual small pots) so I asked for more which wasn’t a problem … BUT really disappointed to find I was charged an extra £2 for the privilege.. I would have given 5 stars had they done the decent thing and just provided extra or at leave made me aware that there was an extra charge

We had a lovely evening. Main course was excellent - definitely 5 stars.. and the dessert slightly less so (4 stars) but we were well looked after and enjoyed our special night out to celebrate my husband's birthday.

We went for Sunday lunch My partner is vegan and I had told them this when I booked and a member of staff came and spoke to her to discuss her options The food was superb, I had lamb which was nicely cooked and the portion size was excellent The staff were attentive and very good and I felt for a three course meal with alcohol, the price was very reasonable.

We were guests at the hotel for two nights and chose to eat in the restaurant on the first night of our stay. WOW, we were not disappointed. We went all in and had the full three courses and we were very impressed but the quality of the produce, presentation and the delicious flavours. Compliments to the chef 5***** from us! The staff were very attentive and their knowledge of their menu was very good. We were made to feel very welcome and the restaurant has a lovely cosy atmosphere and is decorated very tastefully and elegant. Our first visit to Number Four at Stow, The Yew Tree Restaurant & The Cotswold's but certainly not our last. Will definitely recommend and hope we can visit you again.

The whole experience from start to finish was superb. All the staff was very cordial, service was amazing and they were took care of us with kindness and respect. We were also guests at the hotel and had multiple visits to the restaurant and bar. Needless to say it was great each time. Wonderful Sunday lunch. Took advantage of the restaurant’s ‘local’ offer. We weren’t disappointed. Plentiful lunch, nicely cooked and staff very attentive without being overly fussy. Have been here before for an evening meal and also for afternoon tea. Can’t fault it!

I had never been to this hotel /restaurant before but I am glad we saw their local offer posted on our Facebook notice board page as I was very impressed. The building is lovely and the restaurant area is beautiful and we felt very welcome by the staff when we arrived. The Sunday road (which we all had) was top notch and very tasty. I loved the staff member hanging up our coats for us before entering the restaurant for our meal as that was a good touch. The dessert was exquisite and I was genuinely impressed with the whole experience this afternoon and I shall definitely be visiting again in the near future.

We've just had a fabulous Sunday lunch here. Great service - friendly and professional. The roast beef was amazing - meltingly tender, and the vegetarian lunch was polished off. Lovely desserts and now enjoying a chill cappuccino and chat in the lounge. We'll definitely be back and would certainly recommend.

We stayed one night at Number Four, the room was excellent as were all the public areas of the hotel. The staff were very helpful. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good quality, with something for everyone. The service was attentive but not over bearing. This is a very6 good restaurant and if I was a local I would probably eat there even if I was not staying overnight.

A lovely Sunday roast with attentive staff and exceptionally clean. So good we are going back again this Sunday with more friends :)

We used the restaurant for our evening meal and breakfast while staying at number four. All the meals were excellent and the evening meals were probably the highlight. A good selection and food was very flavoursome. Great to see game on the menu on the pheasant was superb. Some good fish choices too. Reasonably priced wine list and great service made it a very special experience. Could not fault breakfast and would recommend the Eggs Benedict.

We were a party of four and had Sunday lunch at the Yew Tree restaurant today. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and very reasonably priced for the fine fayre on offer. There is something from everyone on the extensive menu, whether it is a traditional roast or something more exotic. All the dishes were delicious and very well presented by the attentive restaurant team. I couldn't recommend the restaurant highly enough for anyone looking for a relaxed enjoyable Sunday lunch in the pleasant surroundings of the Stow countryside.
