We had a race evening here for our football team and all I can say we were well looked after, friendly staff, superb buffet, good beer at reasonable prices, well done and thankyou.

Just had cocktails which were fab. Could do with a warmer, friendlier welcome

We ordered 2 large fish & chips, the seafood trio platter & lamb kofta special with a couple of sides & drinks. Service from Heidi & team was warm & friendly. The food was excellent quality, really fresh and tasty. Great chips, batter was light and crispy on the fish & prawns. We were really impressed with the price of the sides, made a lovely change to not feel like you needed a bank loan for mushy peas & curry sauce! My only gripe was the price of a soft drink - £3.40 for a can of pop is a bit steep compared to the rest of the menu. Would recommend this place highly, just stick to a cuppa or a beer!

Restaurant upstairs was lovely but a bit on the cold side. The food was superb - freshly cooked and piping hot and good value. The only downfall - we were charged for drinks we'd not had, but this was rectified when queried with a member of staff.

I don’t like writing negative reviews but feel I must about this place. We used to come and stay here and the food was always amazing but it’s been taken over and OMG! The best things about the evening was the view from the restaurant window and the lovely waiter called Michael. Starters of crab arancini and whitebait. The arancini was tasteless and the whitebait was burned. The menu for mains was quite limited unless you wanted a burger or a steak for £38!! So we chose scampi. The chips were dry and looked like they’d been cooked in dirty oil. There were 10 pieces of scampi for £17 which seemed to be overcooked on the outside but undercooked on the inside. The peas were like bullets. No-one ever came to ask if everything was alright but there seemed to be one waiter waiting on all tables. We then had rhubarb fool which was basically a bowl of whipped cream with about 5 small cubes of rhubarb for £9. Won’t be returning!!

Spent two nights in this lovely hotel. Stunning views ! The staff and food were excellent. Fairly priced too. The hotel is currently being updated as the decor is a little dated, but the rooms were clean and very comfortable. I would happily go again.

Absolute perfection. I am a local but had visitor over Easter. We eat out many times but by far this was the best food we had also at a great price. Good porportions, very well priced, great service. Wonderful views and atmosphere. Fantasticl Ice Cream and desserts too. Can not say how much we enjoyed our two visits. Strongly recommed. Also what a fantasic garden centre selling plants at an amazing price.

Lovely pies and pasty from here, not forgetting the toffee Danish and chocolate shortbread too. Pleasant staff.

Parada aquí para un café con leche y capuchino, nos pareció poco acogedor y las bebidas eran horribles. Muy insípidos y no podíamos beberlos. Escucharlos hablar de nosotros cómo nos moverían si llegara una mesa más grande. Terminamos pagando y nos fuimos, no volveríamos.

Great shop cakes amazing pie incredible will be coming back soon just don’t walk from sandsend to get here you have to go up a steep hil

Great location…….that’s it, we had Whitby scampi. The chips and peas were really cold, the scampi was swimming in grease and soggy. Gammon again cold chips, salty poorly cooked meat. A real disappointment and no staff about to ask about it they were outside having a fag 🤦‍♀️

The meal was dried up, disappointed
