Nice enough place. Service was great, food was good (we had the fish special), not amazing, but good value, tasty, and filling. Plenty of tea and hot water. Would go back again if we're back in Scarborough.

Wen't here for tea yesterday the food was absolutely lovely and all the staff were helpful and polite. The young lad who served us went above and beyond to help an was such a kind, bubbly and well mannered lad. I was so impressed with his manner and service I asked another customer who new of him his name which was Mason ? Just thought he needed recognition for this as it's rare these days. Such I lovely young man who will go far in life with a personality,manners and attitude like his.

Really nice restaurant. Really love food. 2 jumbo cod & chips, chicken burger & chips and a jacket potato with cheese and beans. Plus four drinks. Came to just under £70. All freshly cooked and good portion sizes. Good efficient service. Clean and tidy restaurant.

The staff was rude. I could hear them making fun of customers from my table, The vinegar had flies and bugs inside, and the chips were undercooked.

Instantly felt not welcome and uncomfortable when we walked in. It says it’s dog friendly however I would say different considering how rude they were about our dog. They made us sit on a very small table with little room even after us asking for a bigger table due to having a large dog. They refused and made us sit on a small table. The staff were very rude the whole time. The food didn’t look up to standard for the price. We sat down then walked straight out after being appauled by the rude and horrible manner of the staff would not recommend at all.

We have been here before and still can't fault it. Read comments about the chips but we always find them some of the best you can get. We had fish and chips, gammon, steak pie and jacket potatoes. Left very little on the plate. Only down side is we didn't have pudding as you couldn't fit it in. The staff are only young but a credit to them. They were all really polite and friendly. Ordered the jacket potato with beans and it came with beans and cheese which costs more but the young lad had realised and pointed out he hadn't charged us when we went to pay. Will be visiting again

The not very welcome inn....been here before a couple of times and it has been pleasant however this time we were told without stepping a foot in there were no room for a pushchair. Fair enough, but it was a small travel buggy which could of been folded down had they of had better service they could of asked if it was possible. Maybe say you'll have a look to see if anyone's about to finish, at least look like they wanted the business. There were multiple mobility scooters barracading the doorway, but to point blank refuse us as the door I felt was rude.

Tuesday 28th may after 18pm we came . Venue including toilets clean and fresh . My youngest boy loved chatty away to our friendly waitress. Would definitely return and recommend to others

Very good place to eat in. Good service, great atmosphere and wonderful staff is there. We really enjoyed our meal and our little boy found this place very interesting. Food was home made and freshly cooked. Well deserved 5 stars!

Have used this restaurant for a number of years but never again They took our order but and brought us our drinks quickly but the food never arrived. Asked them after 20 minutes and told the gammon takes a little longer after 30 minutes spoke to the manageress and asked to pay for drinks so we could leave as still sign of food. The restaurant wasn’t full neither empty but customer service poor

Firstly the service was grand and can’t fault the waitress who was brilliant with our daughter but the food was terrible, we requested scrambled eggs and what arrived was cold batch cooked egg which had clearly been made some time ago. The hash browns were raw in the middle and we were left feeling sick and nauseous. Would not reccomend for breakfast and would suggest one of the many other cafes on the front. Waste of £35.

Delicious jumbo haddock and chips, perhaps not the biggest fish but excellent quality and very tasty, so fresh. The restaurant is nicely decorated and everywhere spotlessly clean. Staff very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and will return.

This is the second time I have recently been here for lunch as a solo. I had Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and today Monday March 11 24 I had a lovely sandwich. The Sunday lunch was cooked perfectly full of fresh veg and tasty meat and gravy with a Yorkshire pud. The sandwich today was on lovely seeded bread with roasted lean ham crisps salad and slaw. Best ham I’ve had in a long time on my list to return.

On a bitterly cold day in March, we were looking for a dog friendly cafe where we could eat indoors. The Welcome Inn was a good choice. The food was cooked fresh and very well presented. The prices were a bit on the expensive side but the food was very tasty. I've marked it down as they were a bit slow to take our order. And the interior was cramped. Our four legged friend enjoyed being fed the odd couple of chips as she sat under the table.

Called in around 5pm on Saturday afternoon in early March, very welcoming and accommodating, dog friendly, shared a haddock, chips and mushy peas, with my sister, absolutely delicious, light batter beautiful meaty fresh haddock and proper peas from dried, faultless.

The young lady with the Frenchie called Maggie (didn’t get her name) well she was just bloody wonderful an absolute credit to the establishment the food was wonderful good portion sizes and well priced very clean def be visiting again.

Found on the seafront in South Bay across from the harbour. Popped in for a breakfast which are served until midday. We both had a breakfast sandwich each and a pot of tea. Enjoyed the sausages. Clean and bright premises with friendly and helpful staff. Very nice place, as a local will certainly visit again.

I don’t often leave reviews, but I had to for this place. Genuinely the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! It was all incredible! My husband had a Sunday lunch & really enjoyed it too! Staff were so friendly, nothing was too much! Will be back!!

We have been here many times before, we went on boxing day for lunch, I have to say the food was terrible, nothing we were served looked fresh, very disappointed, nobody came to see if we were OK or if we needed anything, I don't think we will go back.

The place is nice and clean the staff very attentative but my girlfriend and i ordered a sausage and a sausage and egg sandwich the sausage was just so cheap no taste at all not much meat content, such a let down as its a nice place.

There are lots of places to choose from on Scarborough sea front but we picked the best option with this restaurant. Food was delicious, piping hot and our waitress was lovely and friendly. We will be back!

Had the best Jam and cream scone 😊

Waited ages for coffees to be made. Both cold. Replaced but still cold. Ordered scones . Over priced at 4 pound for 1 scone and a small amount of jam and cream. Waited about 20 mins for them but the place was empty. Our server was ok but there was another girl and wasn’t happy at all .

Visited this place a couple of time during our stay in the area. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant clean and well presented with a good choice on the menu and some excellent offers. The food is great and good value for money. Definitely worth a visit

We really like it here. Visited multiple times over the years and haven't been disappointed. Our recent visits was for dinner and the following day for breakfast. The same chap served us both days who was very pleasant and attentive. I love how the place is decorated with old pictures of scarborough and its always clean here. We had fish chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea. It was all nice. The breakfast fry up was all nice as well with thick cut delicious toast. We will be back next year.

Went here after walking downhill from Scarborough Castle of the hottest day in September (9/9/2023). When we came in, the foreperson said that there may be some tables at the back that could fit us (tables and chairs on ground floor bolted down.) We were barely able to fit in, so one of the members of staff, Julie, said that we could eat upstairs as the chair were able to be pulled out and would be more comfortable for us. I ordered the Large Haddock and my wife the Scampi and chips. We both agreed that these were the best of out respective meals that we've ever had. The batter on the haddock was nice and delicate with the fish itself cooked so well that it flaked away at the gentlest touch of the fork. My wife found her scampi was amazing and she passed me one. It was so fresh and juicy that I couldn't decide on whether I should have gone for that instead, but I have no regrets about having chosen the Haddock. Julie was very accommodating to us. We ordered two large cola's to go with our meals. When we told her we had walked down from Scarborough castle, she brought up a jug of water just to make sure we were kept hydrated. Wonderful Service and an amazing view of the harbour from the upstairs window. Will visit again next time we find ourselves in Scarborough.

Always go here when we visit Scarborough. The food is great and it's reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and serve you quickly. It's always clean and tidy too. I would highly recommend to families with children, like myself.

Fantastic as always. We visit here often for breakfast. Large breakfast costs £8.95 plus £0.50p for toast. Soft drinks are expensive, so I recommend buying a can of pop and not draught. Staff are very welcoming.

Do not use this cafe unless you want to be ripped off three sandwiches four drinks £48 not what I call good value for money. Also staff very rude When challenged.

Food was not bad but the service and atmosphere was atrocious will probably not come back as service was disgusting lad put drinks on our table and went there you go very abruptly and mardy and asked for large and apparently half pint glass is large so can't imagine what regular is and woman on till was terrible attitude just stood on her phone not bothered over customers at all even pulled a face when I see see ya on way out like a thank you or bye back would've been nice but instead got a unpleasant face from her honestly all staff need training in good customer service as they have none at all

My wife and I went yesterday to The Welcome Inn restaurant at Scarborough on the advertisement board outside, it said £14 50 fish, chips, peas, bread-and-butter pot of tea, ice cream for after OAP £13 50 we had to fish and chips which were poor undercooked greasy black skin on the back very poor. We asked for the ice cream afterwards. The young lady told us it’s £1 each extra I told her it’s advertised outside with the mail at £13.50. Said no we don’t so I paid my bill and we left as I went outside. My wife carried on walking and I looked at the board again it said just as I thought so. I went back in and saw the young lady again, she said oh yes I’m sorry about that. I walked out will never go again it’s not the money it’s the way we were treated. I should’ve known bad food. Bad ways.

We were looking for somewhere serving Sunday lunch and the board outside said they did. We asked the first server at the bookings area if he had a table for two and he mumbled something and pointed to the back so we found our own booth. We waited while many staff walked past us and didn’t seem busy. No drinks or orders taken. Only seemed to serve a beef dinner by menu. When I am sure I overheard the person at the next table say their meat was tough and the waitress comment she knows what he means we upped and left. We passed three young staff stood together doing nothing near the door waiting area.. one of them asked another if we had ordered food as we left! Maybe give customers some attention and this would’ve been known and not lost business.. very pleased we went elsewhere.

Fab restaurant. Having a nearly 2 year old, I only go to restaurants with a childs menu to make sure kids are welcome there (not a slate on places that dont want kids in, completely understand), but there are places that accept kids and places that seem to like kids being there. There were a few families with kids of a similar age and the staff made the effort to talk to them, offered crayons and things to colour and we were made to feel very welcome. The restaurant itself is comfortable and simple but nice. The food was really good, their apple crumble with custard was fantastic and all reasonably priced! We'll definitely be going back on our next visit to the coast!

We called here today ( 7 adults 3 kids) we barely got the door open when one of the staff, who was busy with the others leaning on the desk, shouted wheelchairs can't come in!! No sign on the door but it did however say dogs were welcome!!! It would have been nice if someone had used some manners and bothered to move and come over to us and say sorry we can't get a wheelchair in but to be shouted at across the floor was inexcusably rude!! We will never come in your restaurant again we would rather spend our money where it's wanted and they appreciate it. I will also pass this onto any of my friends and family who come over to Scarborough to give your restaurant a miss! I intend to be putting a complaint into Scarborough council disability dept as you definitely need to train your staff in how to treat people I can't even explain how embarrassed and awkward your staff you made me feel. 😡😡😡😡 If I could give you zero stars you would have got them. They never even asked if I could get out of the chair to sit in a seat!?

Another fantastic meal at the best place in Scarborough for food! Portion sizes are more than enough and it is very reasonably priced. The staff are more than happy to help and always give you that warm welcoming feeling.
