Friendliest pub in Scarborough... I came in with a map looking like a right tourist and all the regulars had it open and giving recommendations on good pubs! Lovely place.

Nice place for a quiet drink. Our local whenever we're stopping in Scarborough.

Decided to go to the Cask Inn for tea one of the evenings during our visit in Scarborough and I was very happy with the meals we got. I ordered steak and mushroom pie with mash, peas and gravy and my fiancé got chilli with rice, chips, nachos and sour cream. The food was very tasty and the portions were very generous for the price we have paid. We will definitely come back again !

My partner and I stayed in Scarborough for a music event earlier this month and The Cask Inn was literally 2 mins walk away from our Airbnb. After dumping our bags, we needed a drink and some food so this place fit the bill. It is a pub that should not be judged from its outer as it is a gem of a pub! Great atmosphere, brilliant staff, lovely food and ample TVs for us all to watch the euros!! It’s a proper community pub where all who go there know each other and are just as welcoming to visitors like us! Should we find ourselves back in Scarborough, we shall be back and will be buying the Landlady Andrea a drink as she was very helpful to us while we were there…thank you Andrea!! ☺️

Didn't have food, but this place is always a great place to meet friends. Staff are brilliant.

Went twice to see a band and attend the jazz club (every wednesday). Great little music venue , hope the save the Cask campaign is successful- please support this venue.

Great atmosphere, great choice of beers and great home cooked food. A pub that still has character and hasn't been modernised. We found it 3 years ago when we were on holiday in Scarborough and liked it so much we returned. Thankfully it hasn't lost it's atmos.

Great community pub, welcoming locals and staff, food too and 10 mins easy walk from town centre over Valley Bridge. Tuesday quiz and entertainment in the Club space.

This is a great pub; the staff and atmosphere is always nice. It’s a short walk into town or the sea front so also good for a pre-night out warm up.

I'm really torn over this pub. Screams potential but sadly lacks investment. It's an old building with some lovely features but needs a huge amount of money spending on it. The bar area itself is ok. Warm and comfortable, plenty of seating, and looks ok. Has a Jazz bar in the basement, which I could hear but didn't visit. The prices were reasonable. The toilets, however, were disgusting. Now I say this half heartedly, as it would appear that it has two sets of both male and female toilets, which I personally think is a mistake. As a man, I clearly didn't see the ladies toilets, but the gents on the eastern side of the building were tiny and horrific. Three urinals but barely room for one person. The floor was disgusting and the walls and fixtures in taters. The toilets on the western side were surprisingly better kept. They would be better just making one side male and the other side female and having much more room for both. The ale was good and the staff polite. Plenty of outside seating which was well lit at night.

Excellent service, great food, well cooked and beautifully presented. Good choice of beer's and soft drinks Varied menu catering for every palette and taste. Vegan and vegetarian dishes available. Dog friendly, child friendly and TV screens available.

What a joy to find this little gem outside of the town centre. Excellent food, fantastic atmosphere & wonderful staff. We were made so welcome by everyone & will definitely return.

They do a lovely pie , mash and chips.. Beers good, staff are great and the atmosphere is chilled. Great music venue too.

Came here over Christmas, the chefs food was amazing, we ate here every night of our stay. It has a great atmosphere friendly locals and bar staff we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome.

Great little pub with a decent selection of beers. All the staff and locals seem to be pleasant and talkative. Bit obsessed with Wordle though! Really good selection of tunes on the jukebox as well, was playing Pink Floyd when we walked in. Regret not trying the steak pie, it looked lush, the burgers and fish and chips were good though. You might not like Floyd - but we do - so will be back next time we’re in Scarborough, oh and Wordle 3 :)

Really enjoy this place and ensure I visit whenever I visit Scarborough. Great beer with typical - but great value - pub grub.

Really pleased we choose the cask inn for our meal. 5 mins from our hotel Service Drink and Food were exceptional My wife was well happy with Tomato Soup but my gammon steak with all the trimmings was fantastic. Also served my favourite Neck Oil beer. Will definitely call in again when in Scarborough 👍👍😮

Beautiful home cooked food, reasonable prices

We went in on a Sunday evening around 6pm so the place wasn't very busy. I had the lasagne and my wife had the sausage and mash. Both meals arrived piping hot within 30 minutes of placing the order and the food was delicious. The lasagne was packed with delicious beef and both meals were a decent size. Prices are reasonable and there's a good selection of beers aswell.

Popped in Monday for dinner to be told no food on mondays.happy to accept that asked what time they do food till on Tuesday 5till 9pm .came in on Tuesday at 745pm went to order at 750 to be told last orders 745 .was very disappointed after being told previously 9pm. If the staff can't give the correct information why let them work there.people beware

Stopped off for a drink after a day's shopping down the front. Sat outside. Really nice pub.

The Cask Inn was very close to where we were staying on holiday. It’s a ‘typical old British pub’. The pub was obviously used by locals but first trip we found it ok. The staff were not ‘over friendly’ think it was because we were Tourists but drinks reasonably priced. On the third visit we sat at table in bar with locals. I presume it was a family with teenagers who sat next to us with a large dog. The family, to put it bluntly smelled awful and were really scruffily dressed. The dog smelt even worse and started licking my husbands shoe.The owner made no attempt to stop the dog. Although when we got up and moved because of the stench, the handler said sorry. Both my husband and I finished our drinks and left. The stench was still in our nostrils when we got outside.Needless to say we never went back.

They had us at "dog friendly" but it was so nice to have our last evening meal on holiday with our hound. The food was lovely, portion sizes that our teens struggled to finish and as mentioned previously the gravy was fab. The staff were lovely and there was just a genuinely chilled out atmosphere. A gem of a place. Thank you!

Thursday 3rd August 2023 Today I visited this pub This pub, I believe, could have origionaly been a victorian Manor house This pub is large and has magnificent largely unspoilt interior rooms Pleasen staff on today and local drinkers Easy to the ear background music and also sells on my visit 4 hand pumped real ales Good place to drink a good pint of real ale

If you are expecting human service to come and give you a drink and a meal, I do not recommend the tables in the back room by toilets. The bartender looked at us several times, but no one bothered to come. After 20 minutes we had to leave, so I can't judge the quality of the drinks and food, but the service is pure zero.

Decent pint, nice beer garden, and at a decent price. Good selection of bitter if that's your bag.

There were 8 of us that went in for something to eat, they were very accommodating and the service was very friendly. Food was lovely.

Really tasty homemade pub food and the gravy was to die for. Nice atmosphere, really good find. Would visit again.

Great little pub, friendly staff and good home made food, nothing fancy but tasty and reasonably priced. We had the Dirty fries which were amazing, and the special’s’ Thai fish cakes are excellent! My so had the homemade lasagna which was also very good! We will definitely be back!

Proper locals pub nestled behind the bust main road. Don’t let the tired decor put you off. Food was lovely and good value. Dog friendly so a perfect place to pop out too and relax with your four legged friend. Locals use it and the staff are very nice and helpful. Water and treats available for the dogs too.

There were around 12 of us that had decended upon Scarborough to do a long walk. The pup accommodated us all including 3 dogs! The food was great as was the service. Very friendly.

Went there twice on a 3 day visit to Scarborough --- Ist time as it was recommended for "real ales" - (of which it had 2 - both poorly kept ) - 2nd time to see an American singer (Nathan Bell) who made jokes about Christ's crucifiction - offending one lady in the audience so much she stood up & remonstrated with him (other audience members nodding in agreement with her !) - gotta agree with her - would he have had the b**ls to mock Mohmmed if there were adherents of Islam in the audience ?? I don't think so ! Locals in the bar were unfriendly - the only time I was spoken to was when one TOLD told me to sit down as I was (temporarily) blocking his view of a screen showing football --- SOOO sad ! Not a place I'd visit again.

Would recommend the cask inn, pub bit dated but the food was the best, very friendly staff, and If you are into real ale the beers are kept spot on.

Ate there tonight After not eating all day nearly ordered the mixed grill but opted for gammon instead. Glad I did. Arrived perfectly grilled with chips, egg, pineapple, peas + a salad ( mushroom included as well but, well, no )Despite my best efforts no way could I finish it. Other half had chef's special steak + mushroom pie and finished the lot Will definitely be eating there again this week. Thank you

Slightly hidden after the bridge leading to Ramshill Rd this is a must if you want a traditional ale pub with food . Very spacious and welcoming. The food is excellent. Beer garden south facing. Theakstons beer. What more can you want ?

Ive never been upstairs here but the basement Wednesday evening jazz club is great ( and the Theakstons bitter is delicious).
