Breakfasts are old school the best.

Cafe had been recommended by friends-went for breakfast- initial appearance is a bit off putting-needs a bit of tlc especially on the window seating-had two vegetarian breakfasts-they were excellent-served by a friendly young lady and prepared by a friendly young man. Will definetly return when next in the town.

Easy parking. Value large Breakfast. Coffee and fried bread extra but still only a tenner! Clean and fresh inside. Friendly staff who sing along to the radio when a good tune is on. Highly recommended. In my top 5 Scarborough breakfasts.

Great value for money. Toilets could do with a lick of paint but otherwise as good as every other time I have visited.

Visiting Scarborough we always call in here for breakfast. Great value everything comes out piping hot. No grease whatsoever on the breakfast 1st class 👌

Really good food and friendly. When we come to Scarborough, we ALWAYS come to this cafe. They are dog friendly and always makes you feel welcome. My dog Molly really loves to see Jess. I would highly recommend this cafe. Nice and friendly atmosphere 😀

Avoid Avoid Avoid!! I have never seen such a place the smell upon entry is shocking urine and damp. The next sight to hit us was the snail trail slime all over the carpet tiles by the front window. I cannot believe this place is allowed to trade let alone serve food I can’t see why it has a 4* rating the previous reviewers must be blind. This place is a health hazard we left and didn’t order. Also the fact that it’s cash only or bank transfer always rings bells with me!!

An absolute Brilliant breakfast. My wife and I always go there when we are in Scarborough.

Typical greasy spoon, bit tired looking but seemed fairly clean. I ordered small haddock, chips and mushy peas for £8.95, it also came with bread and butter and a cuppa. When it arrived the fish looked like it was frozen from Farm Foods, it looked grey and of very cheap quality. I felt quite disappointed. Also frozen chips! Probably wouldn't return but I ate it all and I wasn't hungry after. Overall a bit disappointing.

Great little cafe with cheap and cheerful food and massive portions never seen plates as big. Opens until 7:30 when the cricket is on as well.

Didn’t check reviews, noticed the cafe and debated whether to go in because it doesn’t look much on the outside, looks tired both out and in BUT the people are lovely, the food very good and reasonable. Husband had cheese toasty with salad, I had scone with butter and jam, mug of tea total £8. And the nice lady produced a bowl of goodies for the dog, sausage, ham and black pudding! The scone was really nice, arrived warm and fluffy, loads of sultanas, and they make them themselves! Best scone ever. Would definitely go back, have got to try the breakfasts.

visit this cafe everytime I'm over in Scarborough, very good food and very friendly staff, dogs are more than welcome and believe me the dogs don't leave hungry, don't be put of by it being a little dated inside,

Nice place in a beautiful area.

Visited this place this morning and it smelt of pee (which is why I think the side door was left open) and none of the tables had been cleaned from the day before and it had not been hovered up from the day before either, it's not hygienic at all especially when they allow dogs in and people suffer allergys. When we asked for the table to be cleaned the lady did it no problem but then went back to serve another customers drinks without washing there hands and same after they had been out for a smoke. Also the cook was singing loud while he was cooking good that he was happy but this put us off ordering any breakfast we went elsewhere instead. The lady in there was polite and friendly with the dogs. Definitely won't be returning, I wouldn't recommend it either.

The breakfast itself was hot, fresh and delicious. The only reason I took stars away is because the larger fellow behind the counter rubbed his mouth before doing my toast, it's safe to say I left that, I don't care if people have an itch just wash your hands after please..... I would definitely go back and would recommend to others tho. Thanks.

We've been here before on previous trips to Scarborough, and it's still as good. The breakfast is perfectly cooked when you order it, and the staff are lovely. Only place we would go for breakfast.

Most helpful staff. Menu all freshly cooked so if busy you may have to wait as the orders are cooked in sequence when ordered. No card payment cash only. It’s the best homemade food around. Highly recommend. It’s a popular eatery when cricket and music festivals are ‘in town’.A take out is available.

We went in today with a hangry toddler, grabbed a kids meal for her and we just had a hot drink each. The staff were amazing, got her food out in about 5 minutes, and she pretty much cleared the (fantastic portion btw) plate! Everyone was so friendly, there was loads of choice, the food was fab (we did get to snaffle a couple of chips from her and they were perfect). For about £8 all together it was an absolute bargain!! It’s dog friendly too, there was a lovely pup called Chester in there when we arrived! Really glad we stumbled onto this cafe because we’d absolutely be using it again!! Thank you for being so kind and ace when I was so frazzled.

Came to this friendly little spot after being massively disappointed by Bella Rose down the road. The eggs was perfect 👌🏽 and Jennifer asked for them yokey but not sloppy that's what I got one very happy Hangry man. The vegetarian breakfast was very good and i can't complain. The pot of tea is enough for 3 cups, and I got extra slice of toast for free. Highly recommended for a good breakfast.

This cafe near the cinema on North Marine Road was an excellent find. Good breakfast for 3 hungry walkers. Friendly service. Recommended

At last…a proper cafe!!! Quality, old school proper cafe…everyone that walked in were known/friendly/local…order swiftly filled, a full English breakfast a mere £7.50!!! Coffee…comes in black/white…cup or mug..perfect! DEFINITE stop off for good food and great value 😎 ‘I’ll be back!’

We go regularly to North Bay Cafe and have excellent food and service every time. The breakfasts are first class with lovely soft free range eggs, the poached eggs are fantastic. The added bonus is Chris the cafe owner staring as the singing chef, singing along to the radio. This gives a comfortable and happy atmosphere. The cafe is cash only but he will do bank transfers if you forgot to bring cash. Only open until 2 pm, wish he was open tea time too. Try his breakfasts, you won’t be disappointed

Oh my goodness what a find! We’d seen the amazing reviews this place had received and they are thoroughly justified. Great food, great service and bloody nice people. Even our dog was happy with the little food bowl they gave him. If you’re ever in Scarborough and want some honest, home cooked food, North Bay cafe is a must so thank you to all the staff their for their hospitality and kindness 😁

Great Café for a full English. Lovely staff. Pretty sure it hasn't been decorated or updated since I was a child but don't let that put you off.

Just had a lovely full English breakfast and a pot of tea and it was up there with the best I’ve had. Would go again when visiting Scarborough for sure. Right around the corner from the Sands on our doorstep.

Another excellent breakfast. My partner said best eggs ever. We come everytime we visit Scarborough, which is 3 times a year. Food spot on.

This cafe was only a few doors down from where we were staying, we decided to go there for breakfast. We stayed in Scarborough for 2 nights and went both days. We could not fault the Full English Breakfast. The staff was friendly. Would definitely go again, on our next trip.

Pleasant enough little dog friendly café on a corner plot. Has some outdoor seating too. Loos downstairs. Does large Yorkshire puddings. Has children's menu. Does all day breakfasts. Has vegetarian options. Hardly any cakes, but the chocolate muffin I had was nice. Mug of green tea. Reasonably priced. Loses a star because the mug of tea was served on a grubby, filthy saucer which was stained from last use and hadn't been washed.

I had a small breakfast good bacon egg hash brown mushrooms chopped tomatoes toast all great taste & quality sausage wasn't so good a cheap sausage with more bread than meat in it but I'd rather pay a £1 or 2 more for better sausage everything else was very good & reasonably priced very clean inside too I would visit it again

Pie - delicious Omelette - delicious Very clean. And dog friendly and great for kids. Lad bumped his head and girl from counter was there in an instant with a lollypop which saved the day!

Been going for decades. Its ok, food is fine and service also. Only takes cash (saw at least 3 sets of customers leave as a result, as they only had card!!)

Popped in for something to eat on our first day here, it was ok,we all had something different to eat,the fish and chips weren't the best.

We were having a short break in Scarborough & were craving afternoon tea we found this at North Bay cafe delicious home made scones with butter & jam. Had lunch next day with lovely home cooked soup & tasty roast beef sandwich. My daughter had poached eggs on toast which were cooked just as she asked. Well worth a visit to this friendly homely café. Lyn Stockport

Now we have found this little gem we go everytime we are in Scarborough. Only failt was the toilet area. But food, prices and service excellent.

All I could smell was damp as soon as I walked in, ordered food which was ok, daughter needed the toilet so took her, as we started walking down the stairs to the toilet, the carpet was black with muck and the smell of damp down the there was unreal, just so mucky, and a grey mucky towel was left to dry your hands! Probs wouldn’t ever go back.

The hotel we were staying in no longer serves cooked breakfasts, so we decided to try here, and were very glad we did. The breakfasts are lovely, and there is a very good choice. They're also quite happy to swap one thing for another if there's something you don't want. Fast, friendly service and very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended.

Our hotel no longer serves breakfast, so we tried North Bay Cafe, which is situated across the road from the North Riding hotel. I'm glad we did. The full breakfast was excellent and good value for money. All ingredients were good, fresh and well cooked. Didn't have to wait long either. Recommended.

Not too good. Toilet very damp smelling and was drifting in the cafe. We saw the board outside advertising fish and chips for £6.95 but was told it's gone up to £7.95. Not the best ever

We called in here as it was dog friendly we had cooked breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children it was very clean and friendly inside you where made very welcome as soon as you walked in I would recommend this place food was excellent and a lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced will definitely return

when will this place remain open after 3=30 when some of us start to get hungry around four oclock, it used to be open untill around five not to long ago, other places near by are open later then when the north bay shuts

This has been our go to place when we first arrive in Scarborough. Their breakfast sets you up for the day.

Good value but cold good do with a couple of heaters

Woke up fancying a cooked breakfast this morning so I popped in. I went in at around half 11 and it was around a third full (on a Sunday morning) but I'd assume they might have a breakfast rush on earlier in the morning. Really quick, efficient and friendly service. The fried egg in particular was cooked perfectly with a really nice runny yoke (perfect to dip toast into!) and it was lovely getting an extra pot of hot water with my tea without even having to ask for it. At a little under a tenner for the large breakfast, a pot of tea and a can of drink you can't really go wrong. The cafe and the young lady seemed to be very aware of COVID guidelines - there was hand sanitizer on the door and by the toilets, and the young lady was careful about making sure tables were really clean - which is reassuring. Just be aware that it's cash only. 🙂

On arrival in scarborough we were looking for our breakfast having had a two hour drive so went to the north bay cafe had lovely breakfast with a nice pot of tea nice atmosphere been here before and it ticks all the boxes for us richard

Nice friendly cafe, plenty of choice on the menu and I always appreciate an all day breakfast menu. Loved the tunes playing yesterday and enjoyed the staff singing😉😂

Very good a few years ago, now slow service ,not very clean, toilets in poor state.

Friendly, down to earth staff that you can have a laugh with and proper English brekkie that hit the spot every visit. They’re also dog friendly which was a big plus for us when choosing and the staff love dogs as well (ask for the doggie sausage). We loved it!

Traditional cafe that serves value for money meals.

Used to come here regularly before the pandemic. Reviewed it before regarding hygiene issues. Thought we would give it another try today. Cannot fault the breakfast and service. Food cooked to order, first class. But then went to the toilet!! Absolutely disgusting. You would have thought they would have used the time closed through the pandemic to spruce up any areas that needed sprucing up, but no! And what were you expected to dry your hands on if you were brave enough to use the toilet?? A disgusting, wet looking grey towel! Pandemic??? I always judge eateries on the condition of their toilets. If they can't be bothered to make sure they are pristine, makes you wonder about cleanliness in other areas, kitchen etc. Also the carpet throughout the cafe,down the stairs and in the toilets is filthy. Won't be going again anytime soon. Shame because the breakfast is good, but can't get over the doubts about their hygiene in the kitchen now which obviously puts me off.
