We have a caravan in Scarborough and we still travel here for F&C. The cafe is great too!

This is the best fish and chips in yorkshire ..we have been 4 times and its so tasty and fresh ..and you get quite a lot of it as well 😊 the curry is the best as well ..the tea is very hot and good t.bags 10/10. Brilliant and so friendly always have time to chat .

Food is great as always but the service is substandard now. No point employing service staff to just stand in the doorway to the kitchen chewing the fat when there’s tables to be cleared right next to them. If you’ve got nothing to do whilst waiting on tables, don’t stand in plain view of the diners whilst talking, just basic service skills. The rest of the service staff were great. It wasn’t overly busy as been before when the line was around the corner. Ordered dessert to these same people and just ignored us so paid and left. Will return but hope for better service then had here.

Absolutely incredible.I get a different amount of sleepiness and guess what I just woke up from a 2hr nap. 10/10 would recommend. Also the workers were singing so ye amazing service.Couldn’t finish because of how well it filled me up

Fish and chips are spot on really good Sadly don't do kids options near me they do fish bites and small sausages for kids but not here staff not very helpfull Quick edit went back and sat inside the restaurant Staff inside are totally different helpful and do kids meal in that part aswell loads better experience

Went in to Inghams with my wife on Easter sunday late afternoon around 4.15pm. There were spare tables. We ordered 2 Sticky toffee puddings with custard and 2 pots of tea. After waiting a few minutes,the waitress returned and told us that management wouldn't serve us tea and desserts alone and that we had to leave. I could understand the reasoning behind this if the restaurant was full and there were people waiting for tables like they often are at lunchtime for example. But this was not the case. We left without causing any fuss,but feeling that we had been treated unnecessarily poorly and disrespectfully.Not by the waitress I must add,she was clearly embarrassed that she had to tell us that our custom was not welcome. We went round to another fish and chip restaurant called "The Brown Room". We were made welcome and were served tea, chocolate sponge,sticky toffee pudding and custard by a friendly waitress. Very nice it was too. The Brown room were happy to have us as customers. Why wouldn't they be? With the tip I gave them it was another £20 in their till. Will never return to Inghams again.( Yes,we have been there before) Their arrogance and condescending attitude was quite insulting. Would rather go somewhere where our custom is valued. I rated food 1 star,because we didn't get any. 1 for service for the same reason. However the waitress was very pleasant whilst taking the order that was turned down.(Not her fault) 1 for atmosphere,well my review should be self explanatory. It is a chip shop, with a cafe attached. That's all. Management clearly see it as something far grander. Better than the likes of us are worthy of it would seem. Their loss.

First time at Inghams, though we have been to Filey many times! Given it was open on Easter Monday was a blessing. The long wait was worth it because the fish and chips were fabulous!

Possibly one of the best fish and chips I've eaten! The chips were out of this world, gravy was amazing and fish was beautiful. Though waiting for a table outside for over 10 minutes in the rain watching staff see us and not come over was rather frustrating. We had to go into the takeaway to ask to be seated in the restaurant. The children's highchairs were also inadequate as most of the straps were broken or missing parts.

Takeaway.... quiet evening both restaurant and takeaway. Takeaway was excellent but the staff not so with curt command which was difficult to hear. Not all customers talk in abbreviations or regularly go to takeaways or restaurants.

Quite easily the worse place ive ever been for fish and chips, although the staff are pleasant enough..... I went for a meal,,,,,75% of the fish was blatter, 25% was fish..... I would never go again....

Service by a sullen teenager. Seated promptly but had to ask to order after 15 minute wait. Waitress walking around in a daze. The saving grace, food was lovely. Two small haddock chips peas and 1 slice bread. Tea for 2 just shy £27. The toilets need condemning utterly shameful. Grotty and in need of a refurb. Restaurant floor needs a deep clean. Slippery and unsafe! One waitress was polite but no goodbye when no tip paid….. Food great, surroundings poor, cleaning tables, shambolic as we watched a young lady wipe an empty table and flick all the good crumbs onto the floor. Sadly we will not return as it all needs to be good in these expensive times. Typical seaside offer, go elsewhere is our view.

Spot on fish and chips really good fat loin on the haddock and the batter was very crispy and nice staff lovely also, very busy place.

The fish and chips on the Tuesday were spot on. The one's we got on the Thursday were not as nice .

Our family absolutely love it here, the food is amazing and the staff are so lovely. We have visited every Oct for the last 6 years and it never disappoints. It's always the teenagers first request when we arrive in Filey. Our only negative is that it is a 4 hour drive from home so we can't visit more often.

More than enough and this was the standard Haddock. Nice fish, best so far this year.

Poor service waiting over 15mins for food order to be taken then over 15 for food to arrive food well below previous visits sadly won’t be coming here again

I love Inghams, so much so, that many a time we just jump in the car and drive from West Yorkshire to Filey to eat at Inghams then drive home again, yes it was to get us out and about but the end goal is always Inghams. Last Sunday 15/10 we got to Inghams around 4:30 to be told they had run out of fish and there was only small haddock left so that's what we had and to be honest, on that occasion, I wish we'd stayed at home. The batter was twice the size of the fish and it was very greasy it was a major operation to find the fish amongst all the batter, the chips were cold but the peas and curry were spot on. Overall the experience was very disappointing and cost us £31.60 for the privilege however we love Inghams and will be back because everyone's entitled to an 'off day'.

3 visits and 3 times the haddock has been exceptional Skinless which is so important to us We will be back just wish you were dog friendly

WOW, amazing fish and chips!! We could not recommend a visit here more!! Everything cooked to order, very crispy but light batter on a simply beautiful Haddock, chips perfect and also very tasty. A must visit whilst in Filey

What a lovely fish shop in Filey! Service was really friendly and the service was super fast. The fish was cooked to perfection I'd put it up there in the top 5 I've eaten. Visited again 07/10/2023. Absolutely fantastic Fish and Chips. Perfect batter, good sized quality fish, chips, mushy peas. Service was excellent, efficient friendly staff. Can guarantee you won't leave disappointed or hungry. This restaurant ought to be listed as the best in the country, blows other well known Fish and Chip restaurants out of the water. Fantastic.

Called Saturday 7 October 1.30 in the take away shop, a long queue but well worth the wait, very popular. Freshly cooked fish and chips piping hot with mushy peas, must say waitress working on her own very polite big smile on her face deserves a medal the turnover was so quick, service with a smile. Can honestly say brilliant fish & chips. Also have a restaurant attached but took our and sat looking out at seat 5*

Visited Inghams and really good fish and chips! Lovely light batter and not too stodgy. Had to have a take out which was fine as not dog friendly but knew this before. Very popular and so there was some queueing and a bit of a wait.

Quite simply the best fish and chips. Lovely meaty haddock, tasty batter that is crispy but not hard and perfect chips. Very reasonably priced, good size portions and friendly service. Only issue is how far away they are from home, which is why we choose Filey for a short break to enjoy them again as we liked them so much when had them earlier in the year.

Gorgeous. Everything we tasted was absolutely amazing. The tea tasted like tea and not dishwater. The fish, chips and peas were divine. The staff were attentive without been intrusive.

Went in to order a battered sausage and a chip roll, and chips and two cokes and sauces. Came out with two battered sausage suppers a chip roll and two cokes but no sauce no offer of salt and vinegar and mixed up a large chips with a sausage supper won’t be going here again

My wife and I had organised to meet a couple of friends here a few weeks before we went to the coast for a long overdue catch up.....us in Flamborough and our friends in Scarborough with Filey the perfect place in the middle. I googled best fish and chips in Filey and Inghams came up with good reviews so sent them the link. The night before I clicked on the link to find the address and the reviews were somewhat mixed and thought do we change venue ? We all met outside and there was probably a 10 minute wait to be seated but it was so worth it. Great staff, service and the fish, chips, mushy peas and pot of tea was fab. All 4 of us agreed that its probably the best we've had....cooked to perfection and proper mushy peas.

The best of the best. Get the fish butty. Fresh cod, beautifully poached inside it's thin and crispy batter. The fish butty comes with 2 buns and feeds to people or 1 very hungry person! My absolute fave in Yorkshire and possibly the UK.

Exactly what you’d expect from a seaside fish and chip shop - dined in and the service was informal and friendly. Prices weren’t cheap, but it didn’t seem out of place expensive. The fish batter was a work of art - phenomenally crispy and the chips were also really nicely cooked. Had no issues finishing everything on the plate. Really busy throughout the time we were there, so definitely the place to be.

Has Inghams recently changed hands? Been going there for years, then twice in two weeks we’ve had really poor food. Husband paid £6 for a fish and it was tiny, more like a mini fish this was after waiting 25 minutes to get served. We will be trying somewhere else in future.

So looking forward to visiting having been here before. We were so disappointed, we had fish and chips the batter was very dark and we are still searching for the fish. Not cheap usually worth every penny but Unfortunately not this time.

Excellent fish and chips. Crispy batter, tasty fish, grease-free. The small haddock and chips was plenty and a reasonable price. A bit noisy when we arrived probably due to children there in the school holidays. Would go again.

Visited today and had possibly the best Fish and Chips on the East Coast!! Light batter, crispy and delicious succulent fish (haddock). The chips were also delicious and a side of mushy peas (the greenest peas I've ever seen!) and curry sauce. Totally delicious, fairly priced and I'll be making sure I tell everyone visiting the coast to visit here 😊 😊 As a bonus, every staff member and server really friendly and helpful. 10/10!

We took an Australian relative and we all thought it was exceptional. The young lady who served us was very helpful and even helped me to choose my meal. On her encouragement I ordered the poached haddock - lovely. Thankyou.

Absolutely shocking experiance, arrived at 5.30 although Seated very quickly, you sadly soon appear to be forgotten, 5 adults and 2 children under 3..took.around 10 mins from Being Seated to orders being taken on a very small menu, we asked for the drinks to come quickly as we had been traveling all for good parts of the day, drinks then took around 20mins to arrive even though they had been sat in the side for 15 mins, all whilst still waiting for food, finally around 6.30 we decided to leave without our food, but nobody appeared to know. What to do in this instance, we paid for our drinks, to then hear the cooks stating it's ready now, what do we do with it, for the what looked like clueless manager to state, let's just sell it on... The lady in her 40s serving was nice and friendly however the younger staff all just standing around talking and itching about the tables, when attention should be provided to their customers.... Would definitely not be recommending the restaraunt

Order taken for 6 meals and 5 drinks. 15 minutes later the drinks still hadnt arrived after asking twice another five minutes later and other tables sat with us and after were eating and still no drinks. Our table was right next too the kithen were they also prep drinks and on the side.....OUR DRINKS!!! Had to ask again for them to finally be brought out by a server acting as if we were an inconvenience. 50 minutes since sitting down and asking a couple more times about our food we could now overhear the serving staff in the kitchen moaning (i put that nicely) about us asking where our food was. That was it we made the decision to leave, we called the server over and told her that we wanted to cancel our fod and pay for the drink. At which point we got our first sincere apology. The rest of the group went on the hunt for food elsewhere while i paid for the drinks which again took ages. I have never had to say so many times in my life "i just want to pay for my drinks and cancel the food" finally got it sorted then heard a person in the kitchen asking what he was supposed to do with the food he has STARTED cooking! I had to bite my tongue and walk out at this point, caught up to the family and found a much better chippoe round the corner, served in 5 minutes and enjoyed on a bench overlooking the bay

£9.25 each worth of reheated crap! Ordered 2 fish,chips and peas at 11.55 am , walked a distance to actually eat and discovered I had an absolute disaster in a box. Unless you fancy a fish biscuit don't go here at opening time. Total garbage...
