The best restaurants serving British food in West Midlands

Last minute decision to go here and wasn't disappointed. Other than a longer wait at the door to be seated than we'd have liked, everything after that was good. Chose from the 2/3 course saver lunch and we enjoyed it. To top it off nicely the service was excellent. Thanks

Vine aquí para el cumpleaños de mi amigo y qué desastre fue. Reservamos en línea para 7 personas, luego llamamos para ver si podíamos cambiar a 9 personas, a lo que nos dijeron que estaba bien. Llegamos, decimos nuestra reserva y comienzan a caminar por el lugar poniendo mesas y sillas extrañas juntas para nosotros. Esto fue unos 10 minutos después de que habíamos llegado. Esta mesa era lo suficientemente grande para sentar a 6 personas. Nos quejamos y luego comienzan a echar a la gente de las mesas y preguntar si tienen reservas para tratar de acomodarnos a lo que estábamos absolutamente angustiados, ya que la gente ya estaba sentada. Finalmente nos sentamos y no nos dieron ninguna disculpa en absoluto! La comida era genial

SUPERB AS ALWAYS. Always assured of a warm welcome. Had my usual carvery, which is excellent value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful. A lady called ‘Tor’ was especially kind, helping my family member to the table to make them comfortable. I shall continue to visit as the experience is constantly fabulous. A perfect venue for a family visit.

Went here for lunch of a Sunday. We went to the bar and was politely told to find a table that is not reserved, table number and order then come up to the bar to order. We did and the member of staff Alisha was polite and friendly. The food was excellent (especially the Yorkshire puddings) and as I have medical issues I ordered a childs meal (which they let me). Disnt wait to long for the meal to arrive either. Great waitress staff as well. Thank you all.

I’ve been to this restaurant quite a few times and I think it’s good value and my food as been very good. My waitress Joana was good and she was very helpful.

Visited for quick lunch as in the area, food was cheap & cheerful. Nothing special. Pub looking tatty in places, windows tatty & old, with paint peeling. Definitely in need of the awaiting refurb for Hickory’s to arrive sept 2025 I was told. What you pay for cheap lunch though, it is better than having a Maccies/KFC. Was busy with kids as half term. Good luck with the refurb. See you when Hickory’s.

The visit was very nice and the food and staff were both amazing as always. The restaurant was clean and neat overall and the sitting was comfy as well. I would mention our server Sophie for the evening. Very friendly and professional, spoke with our kids as well in very comforting manner, full points for her. Lovely visit as always

Standard Costa with good service.

Went yesterday Wednesday 5th March service was really bad my friend wait 10 minutes at bar to be served as no barstaff about she ordered food and drinks came back to table to us and her food arrived in a matter of seconds it was ice cold n the salad bowls they brought with it most of them were dirty so she asked to see manager n the server walked off without saying a word to us manager never came over so my friend went bar to see manager still wasn't very helpful when the rest of my groups foid arrived the orders where wrong manager still wouldn't step in to help the has no people skills at all and at this piont still waiting for clean salad bowls we asked for a full refund wouldn't allow this either only refund for food missing n the cold food which is a joke will never return to this place again

Came for a Sunday evening dinner and was tempted by the Steak Americano. When it arrived I realised it was quite tough indeed. I mentioned this to our server, Reece, who VERY kindly and VERY quickly took it back and replaced the whole meal with another one. This one was perfect. He exceeded my expectations though with a reduction in the bill and an offer of a free desert. Can’t thank Reece enough. He’s a scholar and a gent.

Otra comida fabulosa aquí. Filete perfectamente cocinado, salsa de pimienta en grano increíble. Gritar a Ria para un gran servicio al cliente. Tan acogedor y cortés. Volveré.

Very good service and good range of food. My rare steak was a good rare, which can be rare in itself! Special shout out to the red-haired guy on the bar, sorry I don't know your name. Top customer service, the phrase "above and beyond" was invented for you. Thanks very much and hope to see you same time next year!

Myself and 16 of my friends and family have been tonight. The food was absolutely shocking call themselves an Indian grill👎
