Having a catch up with friends arrived about 4.30pm not many people in ordered regular carveries no complaints at all plenty of meat Yorkshire puds were homemade unlike other places no faults with staff always like it here

Clare, the Manager is just wonderful! I had an issue with the carvery and when I emailed to explain what my problems were she was very attentive and went out of her way to make it better by sorting me out a refund. Thats what customer service is all about! FANTASTIC!!

Particularly Kaidy, but the whole team, are always friendly whatever time of day we've been. They work hard, recognize you & are always pleasant even on busy quiz night! Food hasn't disappointed. Free parking.

Fantastic visit as always, great selection of meals on their new menu - brilliant choices and delicious food. The carvery was excellent- the veggies were cooked perfect, meat just melted in mouth - delicious!! We are regular visitors to the Knot and we will continue to do so! £9 for a large glass of wine, the kids food was over cooked. They didn’t have half the menu. Second time I’ve been and been disappointed never going again.

Previously had a very bad experience here but tonight I ordered the House Salad and it’s was absolutely banging, a real plateful, the chicken was cooked to perfection, the bacon was lovely and crispy and the dressing was Devine. I’ve never been so full after a salad so fair play, credit where credit is due, a cracking meal tonight. Mum ate all of hers too, think it was the bbq sauce with cheesy Mac. Well done you’ve listened to my previous complaints

We have been to the Knot and Plough several times and have always had a nice meal. I am not sure if the chef was having an "off day" but we ordered 2 x lasagna's. When the came they did not look cooked at all - the cheese was not melted in any way. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and started to eat the food. The lasagna was cold and clearly not cooked. My daughter tasted hers which was the same. I spoke to the bar staff and they took our meals away. I was put off the lasagna so ordered fish and chips instead, my daughter had another lasagna. We waited around another 25 minutes for the meals to come out, they were better this time. When I went to pay I was told that I was getting a discount, due to us returning the meal and having to wait. I gave my blue light card and obtained my discount through this - but no further discount was given. I did ask about this and the lad at the till said "he was doing what his manager had told him". I was very disappointed with this. I understand people are human beings, and make mistakes - the important thing is rectifying this. The discount I was given was through my blue light and not because the meals were so bad. The staff did not seem to be bothered about this. I will not be returning.

Went for Sunday lunch with my daughter. Meat was the only thing that was nice. Uncooked vegetables. Roast potatoes soft and tasteless. Gravy was runny like dish water. The dinner was tasteless. Will not return here again. Very very disappointed.

I been visiting the Knot and Plough for Quite a while Travelling over 40 miles to have the Carvery All the times I been before the food was great Sunday Just gone was a Shocking the Mix Veggies were not cooked the Califlour was raw the smash was very salty the stuffing was like sticky paste we shall not be returning we find somewhere else. The next day 3 out of 4 of us had bad guts aches even though it was packed inside the place and I know people will return, we shall not return. We even saw so many dishes returning not all eaten We told the Server who came to the table to take the dishes away All he Said that was Good then So we left. Sorry we not returning

Staff amazing especially Tor and Kaidy Food average and expensive for what it is, very little choice on menu. The manager will not order beer mats because they are too expensive??? You really don’t deserve such dedicated staff

We booked the Knot and Plough for a family birthday and Fathers Day. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely carvery. Food was hot and freshly prepared. As with some carveries the veg isn't topped up quickly enough but the chefs were really attentive and the dishes were re-filled quickly. Friendly staff & good choice of drinks

We had our mum's wake here today. A lovely venue . From booking all through to today we have been well looked after and accommodated in dietary requirements. Not far from the Crematorium. A big thankyou to all the staff.

Though we may aswell go into the pub for a quick bite as we were on our way out of Stafford. Been here quite a few times and every single time has been the best experience. Love that the coffee machine is working. Food was amazing. Definitely coming back again.

Went here for an evening meal with family. All four of us add the carvery meal, we all chose the beef, big mistake. It was tough as shoe leather. Couldn't cut it or chew it.Should have taken a steak knives with us. Obviously cooked too quick. Brought it it home for the dogs even they would not eat it. Never again.

We had carvery. Josh served us. He was superb. Very jovial to all the customers and passionate about the food. Made our experience different from normal. Keep up the good work Josh.

Great service from the carvery chef, Joshy today. Friendly, polite and nothing too much trouble. He and the manager bought us fresh red cabbage to the table along with Yorkshires. Carvery was fresh, tasty and would recommend.

Delicious home cooked carvery served by Josh who was friendly and helpful and welcoming. Warm cosy atmosphere with plenty of seating options. Excellent value for money, good location with free parking, children's play area, thursday quiz night, carvery served every day :-)

We go every week as a quiz team, whilst the food menu options is poor, one thing that never fails is the staff. They are fantastic. They always serve us with a smile and make the environment great to be on. They are amazing if there are any issues in food and are great overall. I do want to just say that Kimbo, one of the servers here deserves a shoutout as I typically am a person who hates going out and hates talking to people however i always look forward to seeing Kim every week. She always simply just smiled at us and says hello as well as always having a laugh with us as regulars. Plus, i have an ice cream sundae every week which she makes sure is absolutely delicious every time so special shoutout to her. But overall the staff is great, and the food presentation is also normally good.

upon arrival i was met by server debbie who was very attentive and processed our order immediately. we both ordered burgers which arrived promptly and were as nice a burger as i have had. the premises was clean and tidy, i would certainly become again. highly recommend.

Worst carvery I have had for a long. Cleared a table from the previous diners after we waited for staff to do it and after we were told they had no tables available for 1.5 hours, Roast beef was tough, roast potatoes were dry and inedible and the Yorkshire puddings were chilled - even when they were refilled. Definitely not what you expext for a Sunday lunchtime. How can they get it so wrong when other Greene King pubs get it so right?

Called in for lunch whilst out. Pub was nice and warm and cosy. Ordered Gammon and chips. Girl behind the bar and waiting on didn’t seem very pleasant. Would definitely visit again to try the carvery the food looked lovely.

Great time had by the family again here at Christmas. We went for the set menu on Boxing Day and really enjoyed the atmosphere as well as fantastic food. Always worth a visit.

Dropped by this pub, located near the County Showground, just off Weston Road for Thursday Lunch. How wonderful to see the place so busy. Carvary is delicious, the small plate perfect for our small appetites and the team welcoming and engaging. We shall definitely return in passing!

I’ve been here a few times with friends and family but have to say it has improved greatly of late. The decor has been updated and feels much cleaner. I had a burger which was fantastic and joking about desserts not looking like the pictures, I had to eat my words as it came to the table looking great and tasted amazing, didn’t last long! All in all, a great visit and look forward to going again soon!

We were warmly welcomed on a Sunday lunchtime on arrival, and shown to our reserved table. All four of the party chose the carvery option, and all enjoyed tasty, well-prepared meat and vegetables. It was a pleasure to see English mustard available with the other sauces; many venues now seem to have withdrawn this from their menus. The desserts were also delicious. The venue was well-attended, and overall we had a most enjoyable meal.

We had the carvery meal the veg and Yorkshire pudding was lovely but the beef was so tough my friend and I had to leave it as we couldn't cut it!! The gammon to was very salty. This was very disappointing. We did inform the waitress of this when plates were collected. We had no feedback from anyone whilst there.

We enjoyed a festive lunchtime meal here and our party of 14 were very well catered for. The food was tasty with a substantial carvery and lovely desserts, all at a reasonable price. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and attend to our needs. As regular customers to this venue too, we can only recommend it highly.

Lunch visit. At 1.30pm only 1 portion of soup still available to order. Took them 10 mins+ to serve it. Carvery, meat options OK. Yorkies hidden out the back. Veg either under cooked or over. Roast spuds had skins tougher than my shoe leather. Soup bowl only cleared by table staff, along with dinner plates as he served the desserts. Desserts, no apple crumble to order. Alts chosen, took over 10 mins to arrive. All in all, not worth the £45+ we spent on lunch, so WON'T be going back. Waste of time complaining on site as staff were to scarce. Carver took 8 mins to appear from kitchen. Table waiter almost anonymous. Symptomatic of so many places these days. Not enough staff. Those that do work are inefficient, lackadaisical, and not worthy of tips. What a state the hospitality industry has become. I'll keep more of my hard earned money to myself in future.

Disappointing meals. Went on a Tuesday approx 2.30. If restaurant is open all day then food must be off same quality whatever time you choose to eat you are paying same price! Carvery was very poor. End bits of meat tired and dried. Veg was covered but obviously been sitting a while. Dregs of watery gravy. Roast potatoes described as crisp and fluffy were soggy and a couple were turning black inside I had to send my yorkie back as it was raw inside. The replacement was crispy on the outside but still soggy inside. I paid extra for pigs in blankets,3 tiny ones. But one was so burnt and hard that I couldnt get my knife through it. It was replaced. My husbands meal of fish and chips was also disappointing the outside batter was burnt and the fish was dry. No one came to ask about the meal, mine was only replaced as I commented as they brought my husbands meal to the table. They didnt come to collect our plates when we finished either. Although they did collect from other tables as soon as they finished their meal. It appeared to be a popular friendly pub when we arrived but the quality of the food really let them down.
