I visited 27.04.25 for lunch. My food tasted as if it had been re-heated. The chips were soggy and the veggie burger looked a mess. My friend was given a fork that had food still stuck to it. The servers weren't very friendly and were probably rushed off their feet so we're not around to ask for clean cutlery. We were not impressed at all.

Love this Wetherspoons...though no parking so a little walk has to happen....but we have to pass a house that has a box with free range eggs for sale...and they are the best eggs ever..so a win win situation...

Staff were first class! Could not do enough. We all know spoons is a bargain anyway but ever member of staff went above and beyond.

Took my wife for drinks for mother's day, a couple of cocktails later and a very pleasant afternoon was had by all

What a dump it has become, dirty glasses, seats decrepit the meal was poor by comparison, dry burger on old bun with McCain oven chips. Yuck. Will never go in again

Great food as always in Weatherspoons, our food server was rude literally threw the plates of food on the table at us thought they were going to break, and walked off in a huff, short dark haired young lady with tattoos think we caught her on a bad day, this is the only reason marked down for service, apart from that great time.

There is a very loud barmaid that keeps screaming and swearing over the counter at customers. Whilst thinking she is bubbly she makes the atmosphere very unpleasant as she is after the attention. Makes for a very stressful experience. Have stopped going as a result.

The food is slways great but we had 1 of Weatherspoons worker shouting and flirting with some customer. Felt like we were at a cattle farm

Absolutely shocking service. Me and my friends must have cued for 20 minutes to be looked at and ignored. So we gave up sat down and ordered via the app which then took a further 20 minutes to come and I had to go and get myself because the drinks were sat there for over 15 minutes. Found the staff extremely rude even though it took a solid 40 minutes and ignorance to get a drink ordered. Terrible service go to another Weatherspoons

The Poste of Stone is a great ambassador for the JD Wetherspoons chain with excellent, professional, and friendly service. It frequently serves locally brewed cask ales within the well kept cask ale range. The building offers a comfortable, well arranged interior on 3 levels plus a small outdoor courtyard.

Clean and tidy. Inexpensive drinks.

Young staff dont car if you are there hours, they just walk in front of you and walk away , waiting for ever for a drink , not friendly at all , will never go there again!

One of the waitresses (eastern european accent) has a very loud voice and was too busy talking (shouting) to someone further down the bar to even acknowledge my order or bother to say please or thank you.

It's difficult to deny the value for money of a Wetherspoons pub, although the standard of the surroundings vary a good deal from pub to pub. This is a comfortable and well maintained example of the brand. On a matter of possible 'shrinkflation', the previous two slices of the black pudding 'extra side dish' is now only one slice, for the same price.

A great example of a restoration and renovation of a historic building, to make use of it as a Wetherspoons, that keeps original features, or highlights them. Plenty of table seating, along with booths, and comfy armchairs to choose from. Once seated it's easy to place your order using the Wetherspoons app, or going up to the bar to let staff know what you want from the menu. We ordered using the app, with or drinks coming very quickly, and our food not long after. The food was great, and exactly what was expected. Food was cooked, arrived at the table got, and tasted fine great. Have eaten here a few times, and will be back again in the future. A nice pub, with a calm atmosphere, great decor, and Wetherspoons prices, the toilets aren't too far away either, lol.

Lunchtime meal was ok. Beer was good. Service was "couldn't care less" A usual visit to Wetherspoons in Stone. It was as busy as usual and customers appeared to be enjoying themselves. For the price I think it's value for money.

I was waiting 10 minutes to be served, it was my turn and no one was at the bar when Duty Manager was finishing serving a customer. He decided to serve someone who just arrived at the bar. When I said I was next he said I would not be served today. Awful experience. I been to over 400 spoons and never had an experience like it.

Monday lunchtime & I had tun melt panini & it was really not good. Toasted ciabata with then tuna mayo & cheese added but not toasted. Won't be rushing back.

Nice pub very friendly, just notice they don't rush to clean a table, so you end up with sat salt,spills etc,should be cleaned before you sit

Eaten here a few times. Two weeks ago, the American burger I had was lacking compared to the same one I had the week before. The cutlery provided was not very clean. 😢

Ordered the heatwave burger but they had forgotten the spicy mayo which really makes the dish. They sorted it quickly though so can’t complain. Food was nice and hot- we enjoyed our lunch and will visit again next time we go to Stone on our narrowboat.

Classic Spoons. Lovely old building. Cheap food and drinks. Little activity sheet and crayons for kids to keep them occupied whilst waiting for food. Top notch.

We were looking for a light lunch and drink so we popped here and were not disappointed. The staff are lovely and friendly The food was hot and tasty, delivered quickly and a very good portion considering how cheap it was. We had a panini and a jacket potato. The tables are cleared and cleaned quickly and efficiently which is great for a spoons. Well done to the team who work here. Keep up the great work 👍

Great pub and one of the cheapest places to eat in Stone. The food is typical Wetherspoon quality but it's always consistent. The staff are friendly and helpful. The clientèle is is always nice, no idiots there and the beer is cheap compared to other pubs, not had a bad pint in there in all the times I've visited. The only negative I can comment is the tables are aren't cleared and cleaned fast enough when it's busy but it wouldn't put me off visiting.

Absolutely disgusted to find there were NO salt sachets available. The staff didn't seem to care either when asked if there was any to be had. On a previous visit on Fish Friday, there were no salt sachets and no vinegar. Poor management seem unable to maintain stock levels of basic condiments

Overall it was good. My meal, Mixed Grill, was good and all the meats were cooked correctly and we're tasty. My wife had a Sirloin Steak and it wasn't the best. It was a little chewy and ever so slightly overcooked. Asked for medium rare but was more medium well. Veggies, chips, salad, coleslaw that accompanied the meals were all good though and tasty. At the end of the day it's Spoonies so it's not gonna be high end, and an enjoyable evening meal was had by our group. So happy enough to go again if in the area.

What's to be said a wetherspoon

When visiting Stone, we usually go into Weatherspoons for drinks - no problem with the drinks, food or atmosphere, however, I do have a problem when I'm served a dirty glass - I had a glass of wine, which was returned to change the glass, and the 2nd glass wasn't that clean either, I appreciate there are sometimes water marks - but not lipstick marks !! It's just not acceptable - it's very obvious when you're pouring a drink that there are lipstick marks on the glass. We will continue to visit this Weatherspoons but please ask your staff to be more aware of the cleanliness of the glasses - a 5 star rating is great, but not dirty glasses !

From food to service to ambience to security to variety, place is a real charmer !! It’s my go to place for every now and then. I look forward to seeing the team again

Cheap and cheerful place requires Updating

Visited yesterday (Sat) and had a fabulous breakfast, I don't eat much and ordered breakfast extras alongside my husband's breakfast.. Arrived quickly on separate plates with a polite server.. Perfect. Came back this morning (Sun) Ordered same again.. One plate arrived with everything in the same plate.. Offered to make fresh on separate plates, then came back with it and said it's not meant to come on separate plates... Well it did yesterday and in every other spoons I've visited!! Then it turns out all breakfast we're cold even the pancakes!! they'd even missed two hash browns off my husbands plate!! Tall slim blonde waitress needs some customer service lessons just dumping the plate of missing hash browns on the table and walking off.. No apology

Walked in, and the lady behind the bar remembered I drank Guinness. Didn't eat this time. Lots of locals in that I recognised from previous visits. Good value

This 'Spoons' is different than the other (spoons) in the area it's a decent pub. Also it's worth a visit for the food.

Just popped in for a beer with friends and ordered a couple of nibbles to eat. The service was good and friendly.

Monday early afternoon my wife and I went to the Poste of Stone. We thought it would be a nice change from going out in Stafford all the time. I had the mixed grill which was pretty good, my wife ordered a sirloin steak cooked medium...a decent vet would have had it up and running round a field again within minutes! When I informed the waitress her first comment was "that's not medium, that's blue" and she refunded us for the steak. She offered to have it re cooked but after the sight of all the red juices and the jelly like nature of a blue steak, my wife had rather lost her appetite. So rather disappointing but fair play to the waitress for giving our money back.

Wetherspoons, very nice, food was good, scampi was nice but our chips werent hot enough. Price was very reasonable. Staff efficient and helpful. Would visit again. Have visited again a couple of times but food not to same standard, it was an evening and Sunday lunchtime so wondered if its a different chef. Have visited yet again and found everything to be ok again👌

Very cramped pub with not much space for eating compared to other Wetherspoons. The food was basic too. The mixed grill was fine, but the burger was so small, I had to check that we didn't order from the kids' menu. Don't go out your way to come here until the menu's improve.

I ordered fish and chilps the batter on the fish was very soggy! Not light and crispy. Couldnt eat the fish . The chips were lovely! Service was good staff were very attentive.

Placed order for Table 22 with staff member named Katrina. Before transaction was completed this lady started speaking to persons behind me in, what I perceived to be Eastern European, continued to ignore me and went with these people to the coffee machine. I had to ask another staff member for my receipt. When meals arrived one of them had cold peas and mushrooms. This we reported to Katrina who agreed to remove mushrooms and peas and warm them up ! Fortunately the conversation was overheard by the manager who took the meal away and replaced it with new fresh one. This experience illustrated the ignorance and rudeness of Wetherspoons staff who are not English. Something which needs to be rectified!.
