The Dilke Arms in Walsall

Staff were helpful but what has happened! Hardly anyone in on a Saturday. Food was disappointing. Lots missing off menu (especially the desserts) Parts were dry and over cooked others bits were just ok We spent a lot of money but wouldn’t go back unless they sort themselves out. Owners get your act together and sort it and get the quality of your food back.

Went to this pub before ot closed and food was great. Unfortunately new management hasn't had much of revamp. Yes 2 staff on who were polite. Only few customers in sat night 7 30 pm. I love lasagne Unfortunately this meal was very dry did not enjoy Unfortunately my husband had mix grill upgrade. The quality is just not there. In both meals. Peppercorn sauce like water could not use. The chef prior to ordering was at bar polite. Accomatated to our requests he cooked the food lovely. But the quality in the food products are cheap obversaly the chef has to cook what management order. I was hoping this would be our regular place again. But on this occasion I'm not convinced paying ,,£50 as a couple for this quality food sorry no. And where our table was a window ledge full of dead small flys it's gruby in detail so considering it's had upgrade and under new management still needs a deep back clean. I'm been completely honest in my review. To get dressed up go out . If feels a place un loved might as well put trackys on there's no oooo wow factor of a lovely evening dining out

The Dilke’s website states that it will permanently close after 28 June 2024. This is slightly misleading. We had what we thought was our final meal on Saturday (22nd), but learned that The Dilke is changing hands, and will continue as an independent restaurant, with the same name. So it looks as if we’ll be back. The menu yesterday was somewhat restricted, since they were obviously running down stocks. However, we had an enjoyable meal, with the usual prompt and pleasant service. We look forward to The Dilke’s new incarnation, which is expected soon.

This place seriously needs some love and attention. It should be busy, it’s in a nice location. We visited today, it was empty. Every chair at our table was filthy. There was no Sunday Lunches on offer as well as a number of other things including Sirloin Steak. Really poor and it’s such a shame as it shouldn’t be.

Got there at 12 noon when they opened for lunch, family of 10 older people. Disabled toilet no toilet paper and emergency pull cord on top of baby changing area, so useless to any disabled person. They did put paper in there later. Ladies toilets disgusting, first one had toilet seat on the floor along with the sanitary bin, second one was not flushed and had poo all over it, third one again not flushed and poo on it. These should be checked and cleaned everyday surely before they open. Food was ok but no mustard available. We will certainly NOT be going again. If they can’t keep the toilets clean what is the kitchen like???

Five of us for an evening meal, nice atmosphere, nice beer and food was really good. We were served at the table by Joe, who was excellent at his job and friendly and at the bar by a young lady whose name I didn't catch, who was also friendly and professional. The meals and deserts were well presented and tasty and my steak was one of the best 8oz I've had, the main course portions were not particularly big but that was made up for by quality, however the deserts were fairly large . Excellent value for money. The pub shut at 9pm, which was a surprise but we were leaving just before that. It was a Tuesday evening which may explain why it was not particularly busy.

Worst chicken and ribs we have ever had……..very over cooked. Music was MEGA loud, we both went home with headaches. Service slow, only one girl on the bar, serving, clearing tables etc.

We took my enderley Mum for a meal at the Dilke yesterday. I have to say the whole experience was lovely. The staff are fabulous and we dealt with Lisa who was smashing. The food was lovely and I believe our chef was Ryan, so thankyou Ryan. We will be happy to go back here again. What a lovely experience. In a world of Covid and Winter, this visit brightened our day. Thankyou.

We were made welcome on arrival. Our food order was taken. We bought our drinks from the bar. We waited a while but all our meals were served together which pleased me greatly. The service was excellent and the staff were most attentive to our needs.The food was very good and reasonably priced.

Absolutely bostin, chocolate orange cocktail was fantastic. Will definitely be coming back to try some more of the cocktails

A few items not available but the service was very good. I don't usually opt for a mixed grill but I did and it was really good, the steak (rare) was cooked to perfection.All of our plates were empty at the end of the meal... That says a lotThank you

5* Food and Service!The Dilke Arms is my Dad’s local, and we frequently dine there when we’re in the Midlands visiting. It has a lovely comfortable atmosphere and the team always offer a very warm welcome. The building is warm and cosy in the winter, and has a picturesque garden area in the warmer months. There’s a wide selection of food on the menu, and it’s always an enjoyable meal. I can highly recommend the Fish Pie, which was loaded with fresh fish and prawns and was simply delicious, the gammon is also a favourite of ours, and steaks are always done just as you like them.The staff have always gone out of their way to make Dad feel welcome, reserving his favourite table for him week on week. Following a few weeks in hospital they have really gone out of their way to make Dad feel welcome, especially Tammy and Jack and Managers Emma and Lisa who were extremely friendly and attentive. Dad always asks if we want to try somewhere new… not a chance! We will definitely stick with The Dilke Arms where we can always look forward to a friendly face and lovely meal!!

Attended this restaurant with my family on Thursday, extremely let down by the poor service we received at this restaurant. Three times we were ignored at the bar trying to get extra drinks, the full table service thats offered was non existent, other than taking our order and bringing the food over we were not spoken too. The food when it did come was poor, Lukewarm and not to the standard I’d expect with the cost they charge. Then to top off the night, they refused to honour our 25% off voucher, without giving a valid reason as to why they couldn’t accept it. Will definitely not be returning anytime soon, seriously need to work on there customer service and attention to detail.

Have just got back from a lovely family meal at the Dilke for 6 of us. Unfortunately there were some food they didn't have available due to supply issues but we made aware of this on arrival. The duty manager Lisa was fantastic very attentive and friendly. We will definitely go again

Our server lisa showed us to our table and took our order for drinks. We we’re told about shortages and ordered what we wanted. Food was great, service excellent always. Big thanks to craig and lee for the wonderful food

We went for Sunday lunch today at the dilke Arms, the waitress who served us was lovely however when we ordered 3 beef Sunday roasts the waitress came back to the table 5 minutes later to tell us there was only 2 beef roasts left they did not have anymore so one of us landed up having turkey instead, bear in mind she already told us in the beginning that there was no gammon as it had all gone and this was only at 1:30! When they came out there was only 2 roasts potatoes no mash and there was no stuffing as that was what was in the menu and the gravy was that watery it went everywhere. We went to order 2 Cadbury nibbles ice cream sundae we was told that we could only have the ice cream and flake as everything else had ran out yet they was still going to charge us £4.50 for each icecream sundae and the stuff was missing, after finding this out we didn't bother. We have been going to this restaurant for years and always liked it but now after charging us £51.70 and we didn't get half of the stuff I think it was a bit of rip off and we're very dispointed with todays meals. Last time we went was last October just before the lockdown and the meals was beautiful, I totally get the fact places are trying to earn back what they lost last year but to rip people off is not right at all. I think we will be going somewhere else in the future.

Good service from very pleasant staff. (Mainly Mari, Katei and Kerry. ) Hats off to Craig, one of the cooks, always an enjoyable meal. We visit every week and have never had a complaint. Tasty Haddock and chips and Smothered Chicken. Nice comfortable atmosphere.

Super service by Amber and cooking by Lee One of the items on the menu were not available , but you can’t blame the staff for this , poor choice of beer , big lager choice , but I don’t like lager all round good

We stopped off for a lunchtime treat and were not disappointed. 2 meals for £8.99 with an offer of an upgrade The fish and chips we upgraded to Haddock for £1.49 extra was massive, and the chicken tikka curry was really tasty. I would definitely recommend The Dilke to anyone, it's a bit out of the way but definitely worth searching out.

Eight family members out to celebrate my sons birthday. Great table, fabulous food and lovely friendly staff members Nicky and Craig made this evening one to remember. Coming back for Christmas Day

We came for a spot of Sunday lunch this time and we are so glad we did, we we’re seated again by lisa who looked after us on our last visit to the dilke. We didn’t realise how busy Sundays actually are and was surprised to find a packed restaurant, we received our drinks and placed our order via lisa for Sunday lunch. We had the gammon and it was delicious, it was hot and plenty of food for the price. We stayed for puddings and lisa explained some items we’re out of stock but ended up going for the apply Betty and the cookie s’more! We love this place not just for the food but for the service, lisa didn’t stop the whole time we we’re there and made sure we had everything we needed. We’d like to thank lisa and the team for such a lovely second visit xx

Staff were excellent Shortage of some food on the menu but the food they had was served hot and well presented. Lovely location Will be return soon

Visited the Dilke this evening as a treat for our daughter. Ordered 2x gammon and husband chose the curry. Food was absolutely terrible, beans dried up and congealed, they had been microwaved to death. The very few chips we were served were wet for some reason. Tiniest portions of gammon that were actually inedible due to the amount of fat running through them. Peas were grey and squishy as if they’d been left in the cooking water for far too long. Husbands curry was diabolical! When the waitress brought it out, we couldn’t help but comment as it looked like it was someone else’s dried up left overs. Didn’t even fill a quarter of the small bowl it had been served in. Waitress was very polite and friendly and agreed with us and went to get a replacement. This appeared to be slightly better but upon eating, it nearly broke my husband’s teeth as there were a few pieces of chicken so unbelievably rock hard that they resembled bullets! Obviously microwaved to the point of no return and completely inedible once again. We returned the food and the felt sorry for the lovely waitress as it must be extremely embarrassing having to serve food to people like this. The chef really ought to obtain further training and also a take more pride in what he/she is cooking and serving as tonight, it was shocking.This is such a shame as many years ago we used to be regulars at The Dilke but I’m afraid after another terrible experience there this evening, we’ll not be returning.

This continues to be one of our favourite eating places in Walsall. There is good vegetarian choice, and TableTable provide some really good offers with the Tasty Rewards card. There are several new staff members, all of whom are friendly and efficient. There is an incredibly large car park.

I've always liked The Dilke. Big car park. Good safety measures for covid. Friendly,happy staff. Food is good. Love the puddings. We were made to feel welcome.

We have been visiting The Dilke for lunch since they re-opened following the lifting of pandemic restrictions. Tables are all quite socially distant and table service is still in force so you don't have to go and queue at the bar. They give you paper menus now, which presumably are destroyed when you leave, so all very covid safe. However, they have started leaving the salt/pepper pots on the tables again now but not sure whether they get sanitized when they clean the tables in between customers, so we don't touch them. It has been fairly quiet during our afternoon visits so the atmosphere is relaxed. Will definitely continue to visit.

Me and my partner came for lunch yesterday and was greeted by a lovely lady we’ve not seen before, I believe her name was lisa but may be wrong. Anyway she sat us at our table and got us drinks promptly told us there we're some items out of stock but placed our order. Food arrived quickly, it was hot, plenty of it and delicious!We will return again definitely. Big thanks to lisa for looking after us.

We came for a family meal, my partner had the double stacker burger, i had the yorkie pud, mash and sausage and our baby had spaghetti. The food was very nice, really fresh and was full of flavour. Nicky our waitress was very polite and friendly. We would definitely come back again

Came here with family and had a wonderful meal. The food was delicious (can highly recommend the lasagna!) and our server Habeebah was polite and attentive. If you’re after yummy food at an affordable price, this is the place to come. :)

Our server Beth was lovely and very accommodating with helping make my brothers birthday more special. food was very nice and both atmosphere & service was very friendly and enjoyable. When it came to allergies, they were very proactive asking if there were any, providing us with a allergen information table and making sure the food was cooked separately for my brother, ensuring we had an anaphylactic free experience!

Normality is returning the dilke is back to poor service missed orders and poor staff with worse management, went in sun 15th poor service tiny portions (I don’t like many chips but more than 8 would be nice) and if someone orders a medium steak it shouldn’t arrive crispy and dry ( I’m going with flash fryed pre cooked) should be grateful we wasn’t table 17 who got no food as they didn’t put there order through

So sad to experience a less than satisfactory outing.A number of items were not available but the food was pleasant and the waitress was super. However when paying a query about a minor reduction led to a rather unpleasant and loud response from the manager. Don't think our next celebration will be at the Dilke

Very expensive for what you get Service is good and nice people but the food was lacking Seemed greasy and I did not eat most my mixed grill, they did swap very small 4oz steak for a medium rare one as mine was over cooked I wouldn't go back for £60 you can get alot better else where

Covid measures are all in place, had a lovely meal served by friendly staff. The meals came out quick so it was perfect when dining with children. Highly recommend.

Bank Holiday Monday 5.00pm Returned to the Dilke Arms( with a voucher) had not booked but walked in . Meet by keen and pleasant staff and given table and menus. Service was quick and friendly and Indi who looked after us was polite, helpful and friendly.Good value given discount.

So In October 2020 my little boy was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, so it makes going out a little bit trickier, so fast forward to today 5th June, for first time since diagnosed we all went for family lunch, and what a wonderful experience, from moment we walked in the staff made us feel so welcome and made my little boy feel normal and welcome as he was nervous. Every member of staff should be congratulated and rewarded for there efforts, the food was lovely, good value and very tasty. I hope everyone visits here as it was excellent. Can't wait to go back. Was great and a utter pleasure to visit.

Came in yesterday to try the new sunday roast, can honestly say its so much better than the previous roasts that we have had here. The roast potatoes are so crispy and tasty. absolute great visit.

Very easy to book online and was surprised that there were plenty of times slots available for that same day. No more than 5 mins queuing and once we had scanned the covid QR code and sanitised our hands we were quickly seated. Indi took our meal and drinks orders and the food was ready within 20 mins or so. Very quick, efficient and friendly service. Just booked up again for next week. Would definitely recommend.

I live fairly local to the Dilke Arms and decided to take a walk while the weather was good, with my wife and dog and have a drink in the gardens. I always support my local businesses but I will never return to the Dilke Arms again. I know that lockdowns have not been great for the hospitality trade but the Dilke Arms need to educate their staff to have just common curtesy and manners. I have never received such a rude and uninviting welcome as I did yesterday. Being welcoming and polite are the basics of hospitality and key to maintaining returning customers, the Dilke arms have failed at the very basics and seem to have recruited staff that just don’t care. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Came in on Monday got greated by the host who said covid19 rules which was nice to hear as we were worried about what the rules are and was put our mind at ease instantly.We were served by a lovely gentleman called Gary he made us feel right at home We couldn't fault his service.We later got told he was new to the pub we wouldnt of thought he was with service he gave It was nice to have a cheeky giggle even with the circumstances we are in at the moment with covid. Will differently recommend going. Thank you again

Went for our first pub lunch since the latest lockdown and stood waiting 10 minutes before being seated even though we had pre-booked and then order 2 drinks. We then sat for over 40 minutes with staff just passing us ignoring us until we go fed up and went over and paid for our drinks and left. I know Covid has made things difficult but there were plenty of staff there was no excuse for this level of poor service.

After waiting five months for a pint at a pub i decided to go for a little cycle ride one day after the pubs in england had officially opened..Arrived and was gladly greeted,checked in with NHS app and shown to a table sorted...drink arrived moments after,prices had gone up by 10 percent but they need to recuperate losses.Drink finished...waited to be asked if I wanted another drink...and waited....and waited...They have 22 outside tables 7 were occupied and when I arrived I'd seen 5 different staff faces...15 minutes I still hadn't been asked if I needed another drink...Do we need to put our arms up like we were at school and say miss?Unfortunately I wont be revisiting this place anytime soon..

On entering, I was very impressed with the Covid precautions that are in place. A hand sanitizer stands between the door and the greeter. I was asked if I had the N.H.S. track and trace app on my phone and, before I was led to my table, I scanned the bar code. There is a one-way system in place and, when I was seated I was asked to wear my mask should i need to leave my table and, to follow the one-way system. There are hand sanitizers placed around the restaurant and, diners were well- spaced. The staff all wear masks and they keep their distance. I have to say that, of all the restaurants/cafès that I have visited recently, The Dilke is, by far, the most stringent on the Covid guidelines. I felt very safe and I was very impressed.My server was Ella and I found her to be very professional, polite and friendly. She was knowledgeable on the menu and made recommendations when asked. I chose fish and chips and the fish almost covered the plate. I didn't think that I would be able to finish it but, the fish was so flavoursome and moist, and I enjoyed it so much that it would have been a crime to leave any. The fish came with chips and a choice of either mushy or, garden peas. I opted for garden peas which were sweet and tender. I didn't have much room for dessert so I asked for ice cream. My favourite is coffee ice cream but, it was not an option. However, Ella suggested vanilla ice cream with a cup of espresso coffee which, when poured over the ice cream makes a version of the Italian dessert Affogato. Why didn't i think of that!? Thank you, Ella.I have already booked my next visit and, I intend to go as often as I can, whilst I can.

14th October 2020 @ noon ish.....In thru door, masked, to sanitize then a table for 2 of us in conservatory. Never sat in there before, normally on upper tier, but we found it lovely, great view of the garden. We eat here fairly regularly and food is generally good. This day, waitress Kerry and chef Dan, did us really proud! Our food was piping hot and genuinely freshly cooked. We shared some chicken in crumb and potato slices to start. My friend had an upgrade to haddock, I had gammon. On the 2 for 1 mains and lunch menu, it was really good and not expensive. They went the extra mile despite being ppe'd and probably hot....a lot of rushing with the distance between tables. A lovey lunch....thank you!

On 05/09/20 9 family members went for Saturday lunch. Not ONE member of staff were wearing any form of PPE! Food was literally thrown on the plates with no presentation whatsoever. The chips were small and horrible, Gammon was all curled up and both eggs were broken, mac cheese burger looked like cat vomit, Grandsons chicken burger was served on a dry bap. Wouldnt recommend

We had a table for four today and were impressed by the careful organisation of space to maximize safety of staff and customers. The menu is less extensive but we found choice which each of us enjoyed. A most enjoyable eperience.

We went there under the governments 10% off deal, however the pub had a 50% deal off anyway.Excellent social distancing enforced very well done to all the staff there.Food choices were limited, I had soup and haddock and chips. Very nice although the chips should have been hotter. My wife had the mushrooms to start and the gammon with pineapple very good.We followed this with ice cream for me and merengues for the wife, With the discount only just over £20 great value, but would I have paid £40 without the deal, possibly not. But overall, great value

Was impressed with the dilke the food was excellent, I had the chicken and rib combo which was very tasty, chicken was moist and ribs delicious. The had the social distancing right and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. Very nice experience and will definitely return.

I have not been here since lockdown and was really looking forward to it as always love going to this restaurant for a nice meal. The social distancing was good and feel the place has really got it right regarding safety measures but feel the food let the place down. Ordered the double stack steak burger and the chicken burger, the beef burger was quite sloppy and and both meals the chips were cold. It wasn’t until after I finished my drink that I noticed it was out of date, it was 31st July 2020 which I know isn’t much later being only 10 days ago but still not what you expect when paying for a meal out. The bill then came over without the discount applied so had to wait for a new bill. It’s a shame the food and drink really let them down because always enjoyed a meal here previously

Went on Monday evening. Due to the current situation there was only half a dozen in there. But you wouldn't have known as Indi who was our waitress was as smiley and very efficient!! Also thanks yo the chef who's food was superb... well done team The Dilke!!!

Visited on a Saturday night , 7 of us had various meals and really enjoyed our meals, Nikki was very good and very pleasant, we also had sweets and various drinks , and enjoyed all will be back again soon.

Had a lovely meal tonight at The Dilke , steak was cooked just how I like it . Nikki our waitress was very welcoming and knolwedgeable . A couple of items were unavailable but she took care to point them out to us before giving us the menus . Had a pleasant relaxing evening waith good food and drinks thrown in . All at a reasonable price .

I visit the Dilke frequently with a large group of friends. We like the varied sized rooms, but especially a big table in a room on its own. Most weeks we have the same waitress (Jayne). She knows our group so well, remembering all of our drinks. She serves us with a smile and nothing is too much trouble for her.Food is usually well presented although on the very odd occasion it’s been overcooked (probably because there’s such a lot of us in the group).The menu is the usual Table Table menu which is competitively priced.There is plenty of parking including spaces for disabled badge holders.

Really friendly and welcoming. Hadn’t been in the Dilke for years, was surprised how nice it looked. Emily our waitress couldn’t have been more helpful, normally you never get more than a quick smile from the waitress, but she went out of her way to make sure we felt welcomed. Meals were lovely, can’t find a single complaint definitely going again.

How can you run a place this badly and still be open? We were sat as two adults with a toddler and a baby with no room for a child high chair and in the darkest place available...so dark it was like we were forgotten about. Then took at least 20 mins to take our drinks order so we ordered food. Then after nearly an hour our food was delivered albeit with bits missing. Yet still no drinks. Asked about the drinks and then they bring the wrong drinks over.Add that to the not so 'gourmet' burger setting you back almost 13 quid for the displeasure. chips cold and like cardboard. the dishes advertised as large are just standard size. Didn't ask If food was ok. Didn't stick around to ask if we wanted sauces...which I did to wash down this awful meal. Clearly short staffed in every aspect for a Saturday. Slowest barmaid I have ever seen. saw others arrive after us get served before us and even finished their meals and left before we had even been given our food or drinks. All round a pants experience. Next time save yourself the bother and drive through Macdonald's.

Visited for lunch seated in a nice quiet part of the restaurant. Attentive staff good food at reasonable prices. Kerry,Jayne and all the staff were fab!

Kerry and Lisa are always friendly and welcoming - we class this as our 'local' now even though it's not actually close to home as the food and service is always really good. Would definitely recommend.

Came in for the 2nd time this week and it was brilliant yet again, service was amazing and the beer is great.

Could not fault anything about our visit. Went to the dilke around half past 12 and was seated in a nice cosy area by a fire. Food was immaculately presented and reasonably priced.

Visited with the family. Polite staff, great service and good food. Reasonable too. Would visit again.

From start to finish the service we received here was amazing. We booked a private area here for atour daughters christening for around 20-25 people. From booking the buffet, organising dropping off cake and balloons before the event nothing I asked was too much trouble. On the actual day, the area was laid out in advance- they had even put my balloons out where I asked and then suggested a couple of extra tables as it looked a little crowded. The staff were friendly, approachable, Professional and very hard working and the food was exceptional. All our guests commented on how tasty and hot the food was and it was brought out at a time when we wanted it and topped up half way through. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this place for a family occasion or even a quite meal with friends/ family. We are so happy they made our daughters day so stress free and we are very grateful

Visit Saturday 25.01.2020 We were made to feel welcome by Jane she looked after us all the time we were there food was great nice people in the restaurant we had a laugh and Steve and myself Michele enjoyed the Coconut Sorbet please have some more in March as we will return and pop in for dinner when we visit the area again thanks Jane

Came with a large party for a birthday, quick/friendly service from Lisa and Eve. Food came in no time which tasted amazing ( thankyou Alex and Gez in the kitchen!) and all meals were lovely and hot. Kids loved the funny face Sunday’s, strawberry frozen yoghurt and the pancakes. Any enquires we had were answered and the whole family left extremely happy with our time here. A lovely stress free experience with having a lot of children in our party. We are booking the garden room in the summer for a christening which is a great sized space at an amazing price. Thank you to all the team at the Dilke for a lovely day!!!

We go at least once a week and the service and food is always excellent. We find the staff are great and always willing to help. We find it a great venue.

Visited last week without booking and had a table immediately. Tried one of the new meal n the Menu which was good. Served quite quickly, friendly staff.

The food is really nice. The Sunday lunch is massive. The staff are good. Very attentive. I will remember to ask if I can have extra gravy next time. Will definately go again. Big car park. Only slight criticism is that the place isn't very warm.

Arrived about 15 minutes early, no problem, as we were seated straight away at a lovely table, by the window, full of all the usual festive fayre including a Christmas card from the Staff, a nice touch.

I came here with my wife to take my elderly mother out for Christmas dinner.

Visited here at 7.30 on Christmas Eve with my friend as we had a code for 40% off meals otherwise we would not of come as i think the meals & drinks are rather expensive.

Had a wonderful family Xmas dinner at the Dilke. The meal was beautiful, and the staff were friendly and professional. It was really well organised considering how many people were there. Would definitely recommend this for your Xmas meal and we will be going back next year.

Had waited to be seated for 10 minutes although she had seen us enter, so decided to sit down. We were approached by the same young woman who said had we booked, we stated that we had not, then told the seats we had taken the area was closed. So we decided just to walk out and go somewhere else they lost over £50.00

There were 11 of us for a festive meal in the evening. The Dilke is one of the few places with a large, round table which enables everyone to chat. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Decided to take a friend out for lunch as a surprise to the Dilke Arms and it all came back why we don't visit there more often... Between arrival and departure were were in there for a 2 course lunch from 12.48 - 14.30 in anyone's book that was just too long. We waited to long between courses even though serving 'xmas meals' the food wasn't very hot to match the mint ice cream pudding which needed a blow torch to get it out of the dish and it was frozen solid !! (:

We come every week but it was the first time being served by the waitress we had Emily and we were inor with has fantastic she was she was very confident in what she was doing and was very patient and such a joy to be around so thankyou Emily and we hope you serve us next time

A very good evening, the food was g ood and it was reasonably priced, the service was a little slow, but very friendly.

The food was lovely. Staff were friendly. The only thing is that they could do with a heater over the door or another set of doors going into the car park at the back. Because every time the door opened we got a blast of cold air. Would go again but not in the winter as the place isn't warm enough.

So tonight myself, and my parents dined here for my dads birthday, and we had another fantastic meal and experience, I had the soup which was so tasty albeit a little thick. And the beef and ale pie which was faultless, we as always were made to feel welcome and the service was excellent, the food and drinks arrived in a decent time, were reasonably priced and overall was a great meal, sadly cant remember the name of the waitress who looked after us as she was outstanding. We will definitely be going back. Really would recommend this place, awesome food.

Good selection on menu. Pleasant surroundings. Steak was cooked to liking & very nice. Service very good. 40% off main meals was a bonus.

As Saturday night regulars we once again enjoyed our food and drinks with perfect service from the girls especially Nikki who is always friendly and attentive. We have worked our way through the menus and have always had great food in a very comfortable environment.

Visited today because my mother loves to visit the pub and it was her birthday.

Yet another lovely meal, we were served really quickly and had a really friendly waitress (can’t remember her name). Nothing missing from the menu and the food came quickly and was really tasty. Will be back soon!

We are regulars at the Dilke and visit weekly and always enjoy seeing Eve and the team. Today Kerry looked after us, she always takes time to ask how we are and make sure everything is to our liking. Compliments to Alex the chef who cooked our food yesterday it was perfect as ever even though it was extremely busy compared to other weeks. Keep up the good work all, see you next week.

As ever we had a lovely meal! Great value, kids love the choice on the menu. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back again!

Attended after not been to the dilke for a while as many people had advised against it as the food having been poor in the past and wait times usually being long, but decided to give benefit of the doubt after having a leaflet through the door.

Visited with friends and was very surprised at the excellent service and the quality of the food, having been disappointed last year when i visited I was pleased to see the improvement.

aweful waste of money do not bother , no filling all old rock solid pastry . no puff pastry flakey lid and came with peas not green beans. Also slopped on a bed of mash and a bowel of flavour less gravy. Felt sick afterwards . Feel like a complete waste of time and money . Rather have had beans on toast at home. Feel like asking for my money back!!!!
