Tried the new menu the Food and staff was lovely

Sunday main has no vegetarian option , just vegan ( we are not the same) so to get roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding had to pay an additional 5.99 as side dish . When meal came out the potatoes were still raw so got sent back and left to eat the sides when main arrived the pie was horrible and the roast veg was lots of chopped up veg not a proper roast selection. Seemed under staffed as well for a Sunday.

Long waiting time at the bar could be reduce with maybe more staff. Clearer rules with term and conditions in order to whats included with app discounts. And not enough space on the tables to actually eat. Too many things on the table not enough room.

Food and service was excellent as usual.Nice to have chicken on the bone rather then sliced on the Sunday menu. Only comment's I would make is shame you don't do pigs in blankets on the Sunday menu. Also had the coffee and cream with a spirt. Served in a cup normally served in a glass mug what is nicer.

We ordered and waited about 1 hour for our Sunday dinner. It arrived dry without gravy and we're informed that they had temporarily run out! Not a proper Sunday dinner without gravy. In addition the slow cooked beef I had was inedible, just 2 bones full of gristle. They did take the cost of the beef meal off after we complained but all in all dreadful and a great disappointment for our first meal there.

The menu has improved and the portion size for Sunday lunch was brilliant. Staff really friendly and helpful. In particular one guy with long hair not sure of his name such great customer service. :) the food was lovely we had a beef roast and the starters breaded mushrooms and chicken wings really tasty great change of menu

Attend an after funeral wake here. The food supplied was really good.

I had a wonderful experience at the Longhorn. Firstly, the staff were so kind and really patient when we were asking questions about the menu. When my partner and I received our food(which didn’t take long at all), we couldn’t get over how generous the portion was! Also, the food itself was so delicious, everything was flavourful and the meat was so tender, it was definitely worth the visit! We will be back!

We visited as a large group for Mother’s Day brunch. The staff were so attentive and our table was ready. The food came out all together and very good quality.

Had to wait about 30 minutes for our drinks. Staff standing talking to some customers whilst people were queuing for a table. Different tonight ... Good and friendly staff

The biggest letdown of my experience was having to enter the pub through the smoking area. Families eating next to the entrance got a cold draught every time someone came through the doors as well as the smell of smoke. Food was standard pub food, nothing special, but cheap and cheerful. Puddings excelled beyond expectation, and the total bill at the end was less than anticipated for an average size family gathering. Restaurant itself is very smoky at times from the real fires, appreciating the nostalgia but not the experience.

When we arrived to celebrate my birthday we were welcomed by a lovely young man who showed us to our table. The service and food during the whole evening was excellent. The staff were really helpful when I was trying to activate my Bluelight card. Very patient!

We visited The Longhorn for Sunday lunch as we was recommended by some freinds, Well they did not disappoint. Food was great and staff very efficient and friendly. Definitely recommend

Arrived last Sunday for a pre booked table. Daughter & mother (66yrs) we were seated next to an extremely rowdy group of diners, and after a few minutes we were asked to be seated elsewhere. I think the waitress understood why we asked to be moved, and finding another table wasnt a problem, but jeeez where was the common sense in the 1st place when seating us? I would suggest staff be trained on customer service ....I mean, you don't go into a supermarket and find tennis balls and toys stacked next to biscuits and jams and cereal do you? Now, before arriving, me and my mom downloaded their Ember Inns app on our phones hoping to be frequent future customers, and to collect points on their loyalty card, as Ember Inns were supposed to be decent, especially if they are owned by M&B who owns, Harvester, Toby Carvery, Miller & Carter etc etc. Anyway, on the app, there was a welcome voucher that would allow us a free drink. Upon presenting the voucher on our phones at the bar, we were told they would only accept 1 voucher. But hang on, there are 2 people, with an account each, so that's two free drinks right? The bar staff was still disagreeing with us and would only accept one voucher. Whatever, paid for the 2nd drink and proceeded to order our evening meal. A veggie tikka skewers dish and a mediterranean style vegetable linguine was ordered, but after reaching home my mom had a terrible stomach ache which lasted for 4 days. The chips were stone cold in the middle and were not freshly made. They were returned and the next batch that arrived, (I am positive they were re-heated in in the microwave) were inedible so we left them. . . The chicken and portobello mushroom pie was by far the worst pie I've ever eaten and I am intregued to know if that really was chicken inside the pie as I am convinced otherwise. Did not enjoy the food at all and I could tell it was going to be one of those evenings when all that noncence started with the drinks at the beginning. I mean come on, it's not about not getting free drinks, you're fobbing us off with an excuse like "we can only accept 1 voucher". I wasn't using 1 voucher for 2 people - obviously that's just plain stupidity if somebody was to try that. These were two separate people, with 2 phones, presenting 2 vouchers on 2 separate accounts. Talk about being thick or what? Again, not happy with stone cold dehydrated oven chips neither. Is it that hard to skin and cut 3 potatoes and fry them? Those vegan skewers are probably not a popular dish, however they have to offer something to their veggitarian customers, having said that they must have been very old and/+or, not have been kept in the refrigerator, or the sauce was off, something had gone bad because you don't get food poisoning with simple food for no reason. Could have been the linguine, I dont know. It was one of those two dishes. An absoloute utter disgrace. We thought to end a very busy week with a hot meal at the pub but the evening just turned out to be shambles. I should have stayed at home and cooked my own dinner. Lesson learned and £50 wasted. Thanks for the food poisoning as well 👌

The place is lovely but the service was not.. we was waiting for our food for 30 mins atheist each course and had to get the manager I believe to get the desserts as they forgot our order!

Had a table for 6 people all our meals and puddings was hot freshly cooked it was busy didn't mind the wait as you know its cooked correctly

No paper menu for people that have got coeliac disease, had to stand at bar whilst staff read out the gluten free options from an I pad not the luxury like everyone else to look at the menu leisurely sitting at the table so felt rushed to choose meal Did have a good choice of gluten free, but not a good experience having to stand at bar

Food wasn't brill the sweet potato fries were greasy too thin and nearly cold and the burger was really small we had a ribeye steak that was full of grysle and uneatable was complained about but all they said was is there something else you want off the menu but we didn't want anything else but no apology or refund was given to us not happy as the longhorn has special memories for us both

We went for a family meal, 2 adults , 3 children, all the food was lovely, with a good range to choose from. All our needs were met and the service was really good.

Sunday lunch, the children had kids meals. We were served quickly both at the bar and with our food. The children's food arrived 1st which we appreciated, closely followed by our own. All were delicious

Visited last Sunday. Party of 20. Couldn't fault anything. The food was hot, cooked just right & served efficiently. Drinks & meals reasonable price for quality. Staff friendly & excellent service. Will visit again.

Wife visited the place and was very impressed.

Only rated 3 because of being cold. The food was very good and we have been before but both times it was really cold. People were eating wearing their coats . I took my coat off and put it over my legs. Although log fires in there , it is so sprawling that the heat is going straight up the chimney. No radiator on to supplement the heating. It's such a shame as the food is good.

Lovely cosy busy pub on Christmas Day....was a big group of us...

We visited on the evening of 9th Jan for a family birthday. We had a lovely evening. The staff were helpful and kind especially the bar staff. Food was good, notably the beef rib and sea bass. A minor grumble that the room was chilly leading to cold feet but it would not stop us returning.

Love the cosy atmosphere here - it's always nice to sit by a roaring open fire on cold winters day. We ordered the fixed price Sunday menu which is great value - I really recommend the rib of beef. Service was great as always. We'll be back soon.

The food was perfect, service was great. Good selection of real ale. The pub was busy. We will visit again.

Great experience at the longhorn: We have dined/drank here many times, but on the 28th we came in as a group of 12 for a family meal. Despite it being Xmas time they still had all the usual set menus on - 3 courses for less than £12 which was crazy value. Really great pub grub and great range of beers on the taps. Great service from the staff who were clearly a little overwhelmed with how busy it was but they did an awesome job!

I had a lovely evening eating out at the Longhorn. The food was in good portions and tasted great, we ordered from the set menu, had 2 courses, starter and main, I had nachos followed with 8oz rump steak. I was impressed with the service. The young lady was attentive. We love the log burners in this place are a big attraction here and i was disappointed is that the log burners weren't lit, especially on a cold, wet night in January .

Awful experience and shocking service from lady with black hair who looked like a supervisor… We had a table booked for 8:45 and arrived at 8pm so 45 minutes early. We were greeted with very cold hospitality from the lady above telling us the kitchen is closed. After explaining we had a table booked she shoved us on a dirty table and told us to ‘order food asap’ which we were not happy about as we had come out for a nice new years eve meal. NOT!! On the website they advertised a new years eve menu.. which we were told they ‘weren’t doing here’ The food we had was average. I have worked in hospitality for many years in my life and have worked a lot of new years eves. I get it, its a hard night to work and you probably dont wanna be there. However, I have never treated a customer with such bad manners and attitude as what we got from that lady. I am very surprised that she is even a manager. She needs to get her attitude fixed or get a refresher course in customer service.

What a LOVELY venue! The fire roaring by the door.. I was that astounded by it, I had to take a step back! Beautiful. The team on duty were helpful too...and very friendly, and really gave that personal touch. The food was bloody fantastic. Great place, highly recommended. 👌 Edit. I visited again, and the fire was even bigger than my last visit, so rightly so, I took a even bigger step back! Great venue, lovely food... Best place in Walsall... Even though the Bell isn't too bad either.

Food was good But we were a little put off by the lady one of your staff who twice came and put a reserved sign on our table while we were eating. She was rude just plonked the sign on our table twice without saying excuse can just put this here . No nothing plus it was 3.30 and it wasn't reserved till after 5.30 .

Food is good here, some great dishes. Had the linguine with toast vegetables, feta cheese should be veggie, but taste like hiars cheese. Which is yuk. I just wish this cheese be removed. Did check. Told it's vegan cheese, it's just taste like his cheese.

Visited this afternoon. Placed order on app, drinks arrived approx 10 mins in . Starters arrived approx 15 mins in. After being sat at table for 50 mins (starter finished no sign of mains) I was told by a waitress the table was reserved and...

Went for team Christmas lunch booked in advance along with many other group booking taking place at same time, so management should have catered for this a 1 person behind bar and 2 staff serving lunches across whole pub was not acceptable as this resulted...

We went for lunch on Saturday 9 December, having not been before. There was a 40-minute wait for food, and while my husband's chicken burger looked very good, my own choice - sausage and mash - was really poor. The mash was very obviously microwaved...

Birthday meal with work friends. 12 people in party. One person had to wait 10 minutes while all others had their meals, not great! Food portion small and quality average price bordering on expensive pub grub. Service average. Staff friendly but inexperienced serving the food. Dropped something on the floor, area under seating absolutely filthy. Shocked to say the least. Have fed back to Ember Inns disappointed in the response.

Lovely set up of pub, real fire and a cosy atmosphere however the roast dinner was extremely disappointing. Very little meat, the chicken was just bone and gammon very fatty and chewy. The root vegetables were rock solid and the potatoes tasted store bought. Waited 45 mins for our food and another 20 for the main plates to be cleared and were not asked how the food was. Unfortunately we complained but are grateful we did not get charged for the meal.

Booked for a meal for a family of four to celebrate a birthday We all chose the roast as it sounded delicious! The food itself was dreadful, no meat on the chicken leg, the gammon was just fat and the vegetables were inedible- completely raw....

Seemed short staffed as waiting time at the bar was ridiculous especially as the pub wasn't busy. It was a very cold day and the pub wasn't warm enough. Our meals were at best average.

Not the best if I'm honest. Nice pub, but very draughty. We had to ask for the fires to be lit so we could take our coats off to eat . Our starters arrived really quickly but we had to chase both our main and dessert with the waiter as the wait was so long between courses . Staff are lovely and polite by the way .My main course (lasagne) was burnt , but even the bits that were ok didn't taste that great . The caramel apple pie dessert was delicious. However, the amount of ice cream its served with is laughable . Its literally a spoon full. Shame because we've eaten here before and it's been ok.

A new menu which has gone up in price. There was No heating on at 7pm so take a coat or blanket. Personally I don’t enjoy eating with my coat on, but each to their own. 🥶

I went on Saturday with my daughter for lunch, the food was amazing! We had wings to start, 2 steaks for mains that were cooked to perfection and a brownie for pudding. The food came out quick and the staff were all lovely and welcoming!...

Popped in over the sunny weekend, it was really busy but the staff were working really hard and still had a smile. Helped us with our allergy queries even though they had lots of other guests needing their attention.
