Beverley Hotel in Walsall

I would not class this as a 3 star hotel, calling it a hostel would definitely be more appropriate. Hallways smell of must and regret, with a new smell for each hallway. First room was nice and modern but an icebox (zero heating in back section of hotel, radiator leaking/not working), second room we were given was like the shining, hole in door too! Luckily no creepy twins in hallways but that’s my only positive. Full refund given (apart from £15 which they clearly need for refurbs).

One of the worst hotel, I don't believe this is 3 star hotel as most of the comments said better change it as Hostel than hotel.. worst, too much heating and no regulator on the heater and room is not so neat and clean and bathroom is with mould and really pathetic to stay with family.. No mobile network coverage and inconsistent free wifi service, which made my trip too worst.. not recommended for family..

The room in the photo and in reality is completely different, worse than a psychiatric hospital, the walls are covered in dirt, the door does not seal, at night you can hear everything through the walls from the neighbor, wifi is slow as a snail, sounds from the bathroom in the morning, just everything is 0.0. Avoid this hotel if you can.

Room was dirty cold tap wouldn't turn off, furniture was out dated.no remote for TV,

I have never seen such dirt, the room stinks, see the photos and you will see for yourself what it looks like. I definitely do not recommend this place is a disaster.

Wonderfully surprised and delighted. I was on a Mobility Scooter, but the Bev Hotel had a ramp up our room perfectly. Our room was soooo fresh and clean and spacious. Two televisions in our room for three. En suite bathroom too. Perfect. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was rushed.

Will never stay here again I'm chronic asthmatic and the bathrooms was full of black mold telly didn't work light didn't work bits all over floor there was a whole in the door curtains was rank all stained had to wait till the next day for them to put us in a different room and when they did that room also had mold and a whole in the door and TV didn't work so had to rechange rooms yet again genuinely is more like a hostel than a hotel wasted money on a dump came here to relax and destress and all we did was stress I have all photos of this aswell and videos and because I'm not happy with the way they wanna sort things I will be taking this further and also posting all the videos and photos on social media also there was dirty men's under wear/boxers on the balcony outside our room also ive just looked at prices and rooms are ment to be £50 for a double room or £75 for family room which is 4 adults it says and we have had just a double room and we have had to pay £147 so ive been over charged by £47 aswell then as my room should of only been £50 even tho its not worth that but instead uve had to pay £147 which i have the bank statements to prove this

We viewed the Beverly with and eye to use it for our wedding reception. The rooms were spacious and airy and easily accessible. The staff we're friendly, open and very accommodating with any queries or requests we had. We went with the venue and a few wedding guests will be using rooms there after the event. I'll also be using their complimentary gym membership on the build up to the big day. Would recommend a viewing and will definitely post another review after the big day.

More like a hostel than a hotel. If all you need is a bed then there is one! Stayed for 3 nights and was told they could do cereal and fruit on the Saturday morning if i really wanted breakfast but no other food would be available during my stay. The place is not at all welcoming and the room I was in was very run down and needed decorating. Tea and coffee was supplied but with a dirty mug and kettle. Website photos are very misleading.

Can't go wrong all staff are wonderful helped me and my family a lot after a very month thank you 🙏

The Bev is a brilliant place to stay, I come from Ireland to the villa games and the staff are helpful very nice

I was only there in a course But it looked clean and tidy. Kept us in tea and coffee and cold water and squash

This hotel is horrendous. Once you get past reception the hotel deteriorated. It’s dirty and our room had a hole punched in bathroom door no where to hang our clothes in bedroom had to use curtain rail. One small towel between two people which we had to wait for. Bed was rock hard and basically I didn’t want to climb in it. The whole experience made my skin crawl and my dogs have been to cleaner kennels. I would not recommend this hovel to anyone. It needs fumigating. My sisters room had bedbugs and she sent me the video she had to be moved. My message is STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOTEL. Rooms are nothing like the pictures they show. Couldn’t wait to get out of there and be sure to wipe your feet on the way out!!!

Booked for 2 nights 2 rooms .Frist night very noisey, so went and spoke to nice lady on duty .when out for breakfast came back to find carpark full football supporters very loud ,so asked nice lady if any of these were stopping on second night to be told 6 rooms were booked ,she did speak to the group but could not assure us their would not be any noise ,so we said we would not be stopping for second night due to not feeling safe . We booked for weekend family wedding travelling from Wales we checked out at 12.30pm to go and find another hotel and get ready to be at wedding for 2.30pm. They didn't offer a refund for second night .have emailed with no return message

Stayed here a few times. Always friendly staff who are helpful. The rooms are quite vintage but nice and tidy.

Brilliant customer service. Manager is really kind and helpful when you walk in. Rooms are clean and tidy with all the basic essentials you need. Lovely big garden for the family food is cooked on point

Lovely clean room, close to all amenities, a warm welcome and off street parking. Had to leave early on the sunday no problem landlord arranged parking so we could leave without any problems. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately my son wasnt feeling 100% so didnt get out as much as we planned, made so much better by spending our evenings in a lovely hotel. Highly recommend and wouldnt be booking anywhere else when we go back!

Booked for 5 nights- lovely walk to work and town centre past the arboretum and lake. Plenty of parking, relaxing hot bath -telly if you want it but plenty to do in the restaurant, bar and local tree-lined walks past huge houses of character. Beautiful furniture, comfortable beds. Morrison's 5-minutes walk if you need anything or have forgotten anything for your stay. I am in Walsall working for three months and I'm planning to stay here for most of that time as it has everything you need and a great place to relax any time, day or night. I'm also planning to bring my family down here some time during the school holidays in one of the family rooms.

The staff are very accomodating helpfull and polite stayed at this hotel as I was attending a private function

Food was genuinely amazing, the chef was obviously extremely skilled. The service and atmosphere really made the meal.

The food is really good and is served hot. It also arrives very quickly. The spare ribs are a real treat.

I have just celebrated my wedding at the Beverley. The food was amazing and every dietary requirement was catered for. The venue is spacious but also comfortable and intimate, The staff are exceptional - Nico, Kate, Dan & Sinead were amazing - so helpful, friendly and so welcoming!!

The three course meal was beautifully presented and the courses were interesting without being too 'way-out'. All of the food was served hot and freshly cooked. As it was Mother's day it was a special menu with a choice of starter, main and dessert and between us we ordered almost all the dishes available. Each one was lovely. I had hot salmon on a beetroot salad what was fresh and tasty, roast lamb that was beautifully tender and the vegetables were serves separately so I could have exactly the right amount on my plate, for dessert the chocolate tart was rich and delicious. The linen and tableware were clean and sparkling and the tables were neatly set. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service quick and efficient. We didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed by the amount of other patrons. One of my dislikes about 'special' days is that restaurants tend to overbook. This was not the case and we had plenty of room and were given time to eat our meal at leisure. I will definitely go again.

Although the food was lovely and the service was good the bar area especially lacked atmosphere and it was quite cold in the restaurant apart from one of our party who was sat next to the electric heater who ironically was too warm. In places the restaurant lacked warmth in decoration also, it could with a little bit of updating.

Went here three times in a year for a family get together (24 people) food was fantastic, wonderful choice and hot..Very accommodating we had children and wheelchair in our party and had no problems at all. Booked again for December...

Great conference venue. Decent meal and good service. Well organised and efficient staff. Easy to find. Clean and tidy throughout. Parking over the road. Would recommend for business meetings. Easy reach of M6 J10.

Walsall isn't a place I had ever expected to choose as a holiday destination, nor as a source of culinary excellence, but The Beverley Hotel (and the great canal walk we had experienced to build up our appetities) put me in my place.The choice was madeby my wife's decision that after a holiday with all sorts of eating out, including great ethnc variety, she fancied something English - but good! Trip Advisor had some, but only a few, reviews of the Beverley Hotel, all very good and yet it was only ranked 9th in Walsall. Nevertheless, that was the top "English" rating so it got the decision.What a good decision, too! The welcome was friendly and we chose our meal sitting in a small side bar before being taken through to our table in a spacious dining room.The menu was not extensive, but had sufficient variety for our differing tastes, and the important thing was that it was very well done, nicely presented, fresh and well cooked. The service continued to be attentive, but relaxed, and our evening very pleasant and fairly priced.The Beverley Hotel wouldn't set my pulse racing, but for an excellent, well cooked meal at a reasonable price I'd happily go again.

Had a family meal to celebrate the in-laws Golden Wedding anniversary.We were given the Garden room which is to the rear of the Hotel and was very nicely decorated with Balloons and Banners and table decorations by the staff. The Chef combined different menu's to accommodate some of the more fussy family members. We were then able to pre-book most of the meals which made for a smooth evening. Proper home made Gravy and Roasters accompanied some of the finest meals I have seen in a long while. The food was excellent, the service was first class, the girls were polite, friendly and very helpful and the drinks were reasonably priced for a Hotel.

After visiting Beverley hotel for a evening we decided to go back with our family for a meal early December. We went on a sunday and they had a set menu of 3 courses plus coffee for only £15. There was 12 in our party plus another party going on at the same time as well as a few small tables. The food was impeccable and the service was great. We all got our meals at the same time. And my family have already said that they want to go there again when they next visit us in walsall.

Had my wedding reception here for 100 people. Many stayed. Party was wicked, staff & service excellent. Fantastic wedding venue and rooms lovely.

We visited the Beverley on Sunday 31st July. We wanted somewhere in Walsall where we could have decent British food, we paid a visit to trip advisor and we were stumped! We started to think that we were going to have to drive further afield to get a decent meal, until we recalled that someone had mentioned the Beverley to us previously. We were dismayed to find that they were not listed under restaurants on Trip advisor, but we managed to find details about the food ratings under the Hotel listing so decided to give it ago.Upon entering the Beverley we were welcomed by the general manager into the bar area where we relaxed over a glass of wine and leisurely perused the menu. The general manager was doing the job of 3 people, being front desk, running the bar and serving the food. He explained that they are usually quiet on a Sunday evening, which I expect is the same in most hotels.We were taken to our table just before the main course was due to be served; there were delicious warm roles and a jug of cold water on the table and our bottle of wine was in a ice bucket next to the table.We had both chosen the same main course which was, pork tenderloin stuffed with black pudding, apricots and with parmentier potatoes and seasonal veg. The mains arrived and were beautifully displayed, the pork melted in our mouths and the black pudding and apricots complemented perfectly, the vegetables were just right as I hate it when they are too al dente! And the cider jus was the correct consistently. We both finished every scrap of our meal, it was the best meal we have had in quite some time. We were both satisfied but couldn’t resist the desert menu; my partner chose the sticky toffee pudding which he said was light and not at all stodgy. I had the spiced orange cheesecake, I couldn’t detect any spice but the cheesecake was lovely all the same, crunchy base and creamy topping. We finished our meal with coffee in the lounge and I indulged in a calypso coffee which was delicious, the cream set perfectly and the coffee was strong without being bitter. We will be returning and are so pleased that we have finally found somewhere decent to eat that is also reasonably priced, our meal, 2 courses, plus coffee and 1 liquor coffee and a bottle of decent wine was about £53 which we were impressed with.
