Brilliant service. Orders taken at table which was lovely. Food was swiftly served. Just as we ordered. Really enjoy this pub. Went for lunch

We attended a surprise 21st birthday party. It was held in the conservatory which was great as it is closed off from the rest of the pub so made it private. The staff were a great help, especially Nicola and Georgie. Would recommend hiring the room for your special event. Ordered food from the pub main menu. Service was fast and the food tasty.

We found this place to be very average. The service was okay, but no better than that. The food was generally disappointing. My prawn cocktail consisted largely of lettuce with a smidgeon of prawn and sauce. The beef and ale pie was the poorest that i have had for a long while. Our friends come here regularly and seem to enjoy it, but it is not for us

We ate here on a weekend late afternoon with friends. Exceptional value even without the voucher we used. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the service was great. We will definitely return in the near future.

Food was lovely... table serves, extra bonus and staff was friendly. Would reccomend. Don't have the steak, my mom had the rib eye and was all fat. Got two free desserts out of it thou!!!

I went here with my nan and my uncle we all ordered a pinte of Pepsi the glasses came and me and my nan both found lip marks on the top of the glass directing too someone before us drinking out of this and the staff not cleaning the glasses properly, we used straws to get over it. Me and my nan and uncle all ordered a burger but honestly it exceeded my expectations rhe food was absolutely amazing

Had the surf and turf the steak was tasteless apart from the taste of the grill on the outside the rest had no flavour at all 🫤.

Visited farmer John a first time for drinks with friends, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Quick mention for Ciara and Dom who served us they was friendly and helped us with drink recommendations. Ten ten place.

Went for a meal Saturday 26/10/24 at 7.15, service was good when we arrived, but had to ask someone to order dessert. I had the flatbread with kebab meat, which was very hard and crispy this was over cooked in my opinion, when I cut it, it shot across the table and landed on my friends plate. Luckily she had finished her meal. Been many times, and this was the first time I had this meal. Very disappointed 😞

We were very well looked after by Jess and her team they were very attentive and helpful they went above and beyond to make sure everything was right with our meal well done Jess 👏 👌👌

Pleasant atmosphere, great food, reasonable price, good service.

When we arrived the system wasn't loaded on the computer, so they couldn't see our booking. the young girl walked us to the only 2 table in there in the dog friendly section which was under the Tv and next to the toilets. I requested a 3 seats on the bookings which the girl said 'well I suppose you can sit over there as you can't sit next to the window as you have a dog.' We have sat there before when it's busy with a dog. Seems like when it pleases you, you will sit us anywhere with a dog. But when it suits us you won't allow it. Once seated at a different table there was no one asked us if we wanted a drink whilst we look at the menu for 15 min so we ended up walking out. We will not be back. If you don't want to be dog friendly then don't be.

Our visit was very disappointing. I've lived in the area for many years and always known Farmer John's as the premier pub in the area. My partner and I finally went there last night and we were shocked! The greeter wore nothing to indicate she even worked there. Our waitress came over straight away to get drink orders and asked if we were ready to order,which we weren't because we only just sat down. We made our decision on what to order, but no more waitress. We had to go find here to give our order. When she came to take it, she was more interested in leaning on the wall and chewing her gum than anything we were interested in. Whilst the food was good (hence the '1' rating), we were never checked, and I finally had to go to the bar to pay since nobody was interested in us as a customer. Needless to say, we won't be returning. A true disappointment.

I had a party of four with me but had accidentally only booked for two. Nevertheless the pub managed to create a table for four of us with no hassle. The food was delicious, the service prompt, and with the 30% discount excellent value for money

All four of us enjoyed our meal. The food was good and staff were friendly and helpful, we came away feeling very satisfied.

We had a lovely meal at the Farmer Johns, just a shame the quality of service and rude staff let it down and ruined our experience. We waited for ages for our drinks order to be taken on arrival. We then waited even longer for our drinks and for a food order to arrive. When the food arrived, we had 2 small gravy boat to share between 5 people! We asked 3 or 4 times before anyone brought more gravy out to us. The main meal was delicious and filling, as were the desserts, just a shame no one bothered to ask us how our meal was… We then asked 4 times for the bill… 45 minutes later the bill was finally brought to us. The server asked if we needed the card reader and we said yes. ANOTHER 40MINS passed and in the end we were ready to walk out without paying. We went to the bar where we were seen by Martyn the main manager. We explained we had been waiting forever and a day for the bill and for our money to be taken, Martyn didn’t say anything. My mother stated are we not going to get an apology or anything? His reply was ‘oh I’m sorry about that, we’re busy’ in a very sarcastic way. He asked where we were sitting for him to reply with ‘how are you paying for this then?’. No formal apology, nothing! We have been to the Farmer Johns a number of times in the past and had received excellent food and customer service… it’s very disappointing to see this pub has gone right down the pan, including its staff and customer service! We will not be returning!!

Went for a family meal on sunday, food as fantastic, no realy wait for the food. Special mention to Leah, serviced our table with upmost attention, very much knew her stuff. Recommended the cowboy burger. Was an excellent suggestion. Wil be back again.

Lovely welcome as we arrived. Taken to our table and had the menu/ordering process explained. Once ordered the food arrived promptly. It was well presented and cooked. During our meal we were asked if everything was ok and could they get us anything to which we ordered another drink which was brought over to us. After eating the table was cleared fairly quickly. Nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect.

Fairly disappointed the venue looked nice but took ages to get served and the food was mediocre. Prices were about average. Drinks were not that great we ordered cocktails 2 for £11 and literally tasted like pop no alcohol at all. Sadly would not plan to visit again unless I was hungry and in the area.

Went for a late Sunday lunch and missed out on the roast chichen (they'd ran out), so opted for the large hand battered fish n chips instead. We'll, it was massive and extremely tasty. Add to that the really pleasant service and friendly atmosphere. I'll definitely dine here when I'm back in the area.

Excellent mixed grill, cooked well and served piping hot

The food here is amazing, we came with a big party of 12 and everyone was able to choose something off the menu. Georgia as attentive all night and kept offering more drinks and even shots towards the end. The baby Guinness were lovely. Would definitely recommend

This is a fabulous place to visit with friends or family. The staff are excellent and friendly. I'd like to point out Georgia G in particular for her excellent service when I visited with family. She made us feel welcomed and made the atmosphere amazing. The food was excellent and could not fault anything.

I came for a family dinner, I cannot fault the food or the staff. All the staff were very attentive and the chicken burger was delicious. Our waitress Georgia was superb too!!

Clear plates all round, the Sunday lunch was excellent. All food and drink preferences were available. Restaurant was understandably busy but service was efficient. Our server Nicola was attentive with a bubbly personality. Excellent experience.

We waited 2 hours for our food for the chicken to be dry. I personally felt it was over priced for what you get had better cheaper meals at Wetherspoons. felt service wasn’t great had to constantly get waiters attention. Ran out of beff and turkey only thing left was chicken and they were very stingy with the gravy. However had a good atmosphere but wouldn’t come again.

I went here last 6yrs ago and couldn't fault the place was fantastic food & service! But went sun 8th Sep 2024 we ordered Sunday dinners 3 beef 2 turkey , beef was full of fat! And gravy was minimal! Requested some more gravy was told they was short on gravy??? Then brought out a table spoon full, so demand a manager! He said he would sort it and brought a small milk jug half full! And he sed wud bring sum more out soon and wud keep an eye on it???which either happened! No 1 came n asked if our meal was OK or 2 see if we wanted anything else!! We had to request service for desserts which I must say was best part of meal! We ordered a coffee at same time ! I asked the Young watress to relay order back , it was a good job I did as she only had 3 desserts & 3 coffee's down ! ?? Ask for atmosphere & service, waitresses & waiter's standing talking at the side of where we where sitting. Just no dedication to there job ! It's like they where out socialising! It was one if my friends birthday meal as well ! So we wasn't happy 😕 🤔 😒 ALSO DISABLED PARKING IS TERRIBLE, ONE OF MY FRIENDS IS DISABLED AND HAD TO WALK A GOOD DISTANCE DO TO ONLY SMALL AMOUNT OF DISABLED PARKING SPACES NO NONE AVAILABLE 👎

Lovely pub with lovely food. It gets really busy in there, so it's always worth booking a table in advance. Downside to it is the bar. There are never enough bar staff considering just how busy it gets. The wait time to order drinks and food is ridiculous. It's a fight to get served because they serve whoever they see first, and considering its a U-shaped bar, you have to make yourself heard.

Was pleasantly surprised. Nice welcome, clean spacious pub. Took note of our request for a quiet table if possible and sat us in a quieter corner. Unfortunately was a long wait at the bar and no one was serving at all for a good 5 mins and about 5 people waiting. A bit quicker when we went back to order food but still could probably look at making sure there is always a few bar staff. Ordered 5 meals, a couple with some amendments and all 5 came out perfect, together and piping hot. I think we only waiting about 15 mins so we were all impressed and with 30% discount too. Would come back again.

Great place for both food and drink at reasonable prices. Staff are fab, lovely atmosphere and it’s dog friendly so perfect for me.

Group of 10. Asked for fries, got chunky chips, and steak was not what was ordered. Those who ordered the Sunday dinner were very happy. Service was excellent with such a large table. No loud music, which enables you to have a conversation.

We were there for an 18th birthday meal for my daughter. There were 8 of us. We sat outside at table 122 I think it was. We all had meals and not once were we asked if the meals were okay. We all had 5 drinks over approx. 3 hours and during this whole time the table was not cleared of glasses or plates (we stayed for around a hour after eating).

Today I went for a lovely meal with the fam, ruby served and she was lovely and attentive (Also pleasing on the eye 😉) would recommend!! Thank you ruby I’ll be back 😋🥰
