Amazing experience. The hot chocolate and food was unreal and there are no words for the service provided. The girls were incredible!!

Cracking pub, not overly expensive, friendly staff, good all round

1 out 5 Posh fish and chips, I should have took a photo. Nothing posh about over cooked dry chips, good job there was only a a small handful of chips , I was starving so ate them up…. No wonder there was a delay in the food arriving, chef was to busy cleaning down after the lunch rush…. My mother had scampi, tasteless … better from Marco’s fish and chips and cheeped, chips , again over cooked… I mean… if a chef cant even cook chips… ripped off again, what a waste of hard earned money at a time when everything is so expensive, this was my first meal out in 12 months … disgusting food!!!

It's been a while since I last visited any pub to be honest, but I was parched . The pub was fairly quiet, it was 17.30. sat out side at the rear which was fine, until somebody from the pub stated throwing heavy metal scrap into a bin or skip. Some locals called out to complain, but whoever was doing this continued. Having just pain £7:70 for 1 large Pepsi and 1 small diet coke I was a bit proved. I asked myself why if pubs are going out of business do they charge extortionate prices for soft drinks. The pub itself is fine, tidy and clean. Needless to say I didn't feel like food with the noise and prices.

Came here for drinks with friends as it was one of our mates birthday, had a perfect pint of proper job poured for me by Lilly. All the staff were friendly and welcoming!

Sunday lunch, couldn't fault it at all. Very nice meal.

A pleasant enough establishment. Bar staff friendly and very helpful. Waiting staff less so. Food was of reasonable quality, main parts of dishes were of pretty good quality but vegetables and sides had a very frozen then microwaved look and taste about them. The pub was a convenient stop off on my journey but not one I'd go out of my way for. Pricing was reasonable for the quality. Food needs an uplift to make it a place I'd visit with any regularity.

Lovely Pub to go to with friends and family. We had a lovely encounter with a member of staff named Charlie, she was lovely, patient and explained prices of drinks to us which was very helpful. I would definately come back for the service alone! Food was good, drinks were made with quality stuff (didn’t taste cheap like most pubs) all round lovely experience.

Went for a steak night that we saw advertised. We hadnt booked but Katie saw us to our table. We had rump steak and a couple of bottles of wine and our evening couldnt have been better. They do a quiz on a wednesday evening so we are planning to try that too. Many thanks fab evening and fab food.

I've been driving past here for a few years now, but it has never been. I'm pleasantly surprised. Very nice pub, large car park. There are plenty of tables to choose from. The staff are polite and friendly, also professional. Ordered food from the bar, and food arrived promptly. Food was lovely, very happy. Will be bringing the family back here for sure. Thanks.

Awful food my sisters meat was all fat,I couldn't have a Sunday lunch without meat so I ended up with a tart which was vile and boiled potatoes, I couldn't have veg as it was all mixed together and I can't eat cabbage, expensive for what I got manager was quite rude

Lovely pub, seemed busy around lunch time on a Saturday. We were told to wait for 30 minutes for food, which wasn't too bad. We just had a quick snack (nachos; ratio of tortilla chips to sauce was 2:1) and some nonalcoholic cider as we were driving back to the city. Great atmosphere and service. Just scored low for the lack of sauce.

Food very disappointing. Probably the worst steak I’ve had in the last 5 years. Manager was decent enough to deduct from the bill, although was reluctant to do and there was a lot of eye rolling - basically a bad attitude. Decent beer on tap and service ok when ordering online via QR code. Atmosphere average. Won’t be visiting again.

Had a Sunday lunch here today. Well I’ve never seen a Sunday dinner like it. I got a chicken drum steak with no meat on it at all. The gammon was thin as anything as I had the mixed one. The veg was hard. The potatoes were hard and it was just generally tasteless. I was so looking forward to it as I love a Sunday dinner. I’m normally full afterwards but we had a desert I had sticky toffee pudding which was average. Sorry but won’t be going here again.

Staff were very polite and friendly and would happily come back for a drink but the food is an absolute disgrace. Ordered a full English, toast didn’t even come with any butter , bacon rubbery and undercooked. Kids chicken burgers very chewy , didn’t even touch them after 1 bite. Suppose pub food isn’t going to be amazing but for the money you pay youd expect a little better than this. Note the food also took at least 45 mins !

Sunday roast horrible vegetarian Wellington horrible. Waited an hour for it. Rude manager. Will not be going again. So dissapointed

Basic Ember Inns experience which is fine, however, waiting over an hour for food is excessive. The pub was not busy so not sure what went wrong but if they have a delay then at least tell us. Food was average which is fine for what it is. Overall disappointed.

Had a poor night here last night, restaurant area was closed off for a private party so everyone was crammed into the bar area. We were with people that had obviously been there all afternoon, the football also started last night, and the private party had a dj who was testing his equipment. We waited 45 minutes for food. I would have welcomed an opportunity to go elsewhere as the management must have known last night was going to be bedlam. i.e. they should have let bookings know they were not going to be able to use the restaurant to give us the option to go elsewhere. Which we would have.

Hi, I've just been for a meal at the Hardwick Arms in Streetly. I went with my partner and my brother. My orders were not straight forward and it took a while. Jack, who took my order was so calm and friendly. He wasn't fazed by my requests and he took his time to make sure all my requests were put down. Even going to check whether my brother's steak could be diced for him. He read back all the orders to make sure they were correct. For a very young man, he was exceptionally professional and kind so a very very well done to you Jack x

My grand daughter had her holy communion booked for here but 3 days before her party they cancelled it because my daughter had made a complaint about a lady called Katie, her attitude was awful towards my daughter. We couldn’t order any activities for the event, not even board games were allowed, everything she asked for ie magician, ballon man, even playing connect four on the tables was denied. When the booking was made they knew it was for a child’s communion and that obviously they would want things for the kids to do but everything was denied at a later date, after the event was fully paid for. We had to search for another venue which was undertaken by Farmer Johns Aldridge.

After planning a child’s communion party 2 months prior, we went in to pay in advance for our buffet (as requested), however the management were so rude meaning a few days later I made a complaint regarding the attitude towards myself and my family. This ended in a phone call 3 days before my event refusing to cater for the party that was pre paid due to the complaint I have submitted about the overall customer service. Lucky they sent a refund but leaving a little girl partyless just days before was very upsetting for her and for our family. A complaint has been issued higher up now and I hope no one else has any issues like this going forwards, especially with Katie the assistant manager who was disgustingly rude. Was told by management that they’ve ‘never’ had a complaint about managers attitude but any bad reviews I’ve seen mention Katie every time, and their horrible attitude towards children! Go to farmer johns, much better staff and catered to all our needs with smiles on their faces with a then around of just 2 days! After being loyal customers at the hardwick for years, we will not be returning! REPLY TO RESPONSE: complaining about the attitude of your management team is not mistreatment. You shouldn’t have taken the booking 2 months prior, or took my money 1 week prior if you couldn’t ‘cater’ to our needs. I’ve also looked into the fact you’ve said your management team have never had complaints - Katie’s name is all over your Google reviews as being rude. I have spoken to the Area Manager who will be visiting you on Thursday regarding the treatment or myself and my family and who let me know that you should have contacted her on the day you cancelled my booking as I requested and she would not have gone ahead with doing so at such short notice and when we had paid in full. Disgraceful behaviour. Also blocked me on Facebook so that my review isn’t available to see.

We go to The Hardwick often as it's a lovely, friendly local pub. Great homely atmosphere and the staff are all courteous and friendly, serving a wide variety of ales and good pub food. Would certainly recommend.

We had a lovely time with the family. Our waiter, I’m afraid I forget his name, was fantastic. Very attentive and professional. Food and drinks were fantastic - great value for money.

We came here as we had a voucher from a bad experience at Christmas. Well this time round it was a whole lot better, great calamari starters & a steak main, the wife had crispy mushrooms & then a deluxe chicken burger & said it was lovely, all washed down with some Madri...lovely.

We saw the steak night advertised and thought we’d give it a go. We hadn’t booked but the lovely supervisor managed to find us a table. We both had the rump steak and a couple of bottles of wine (we were celebrating after all!), and we couldn’t have had a better experience. The food was fab and we had a lovely time in the pub - the atmosphere was great. We’ve heard they do a quiz on a Wednesday so we’re planning on trying that next. Fab experience, we’ll be back again.

I go to the hardwich lots and it’s a great pub and food is class.

We arrived for steak night and were pleasantly greeted at the bar by Molly who showed us to our table and explained the steak night menu to us. Between the two of us we shared one rump and one sirloin, both cooked to a perfect medium rare, with their onion fries, beef dripping gravy and peppercorn sauce. We also shared a bottle of Merlot. This all came to around £20 per person and we were both absolutely delighted with the experience. We will 100% be returning for the next steak night.

Good place for a wake with crematorium less than a mile away. Good selection of ales. Friendly staff.

Great atmosphere great food great quiz

Visited a number of times previously for a lunch time meal, food usually of a high standard. Three of us attended this Monday and I ordered a rump steak. Unfortunately this was possibly the worse piece of meat I have had for a long time. It was extremely gristly and tough to cut and chew. Sadly it was also quite luke warm, as were the fries, onion rings and peas. I ended up leaving half of the steak. When it was highlighted to the waitress, she looked a little shocked, said sorry and simply offered myself a free desert before walking off. Complaining in public about anything is always difficult, especially in restaurants, but in hindsight I wish I had taken my meal back to the counter because it was so poor. I did take up the offer of a desert, but did feel that I had still paid for a really poor meal. Quite reluctant to return.

Went in for a few nights at our regular pub and sat down drinking when a staff member comes over for no apparent reason being disrespectful saying we are not welcome here and have to leave giving no reason and raising her voice at us which is completely out of order.

Wow, booked a table for today 03/02/24 for 25 including 5 children, its took me all week to sort the menu out got very stressed out and was panicking about the meal choices when i got there thinking its gonna go wrong but Mandy the manager and her staff including kitchen staff got everything spot on, Mandy took all the stress off me she was so calm and confident what a gem for the Hardwick arms. the presentation and flavour of the food was lovely, everybody enjoyed their food, staff so friendly
