What a lovely way to celebrate my birthday in the company of our dearest friends. The pub was full and we did have to wait a while for our meals but it was worth it! Thank you Hardwick Arms staff and Nicky the Manager.

We had a wake here on 17th January after my mother's funeral. The buffet we had was excellent everyone could not believe how nice the food was . The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble I was well impressed. Thank you to all the staff

We went and had lunch on a Monday afternoon. A very good meal, hot and fresh, and very tasty. I had battered mushroom, sausage and mash, and ice cream. My wife had parsnip and butter nut squash, soup, also ham egg and chips. Then sticky toffee pudding. The waitress who served us was pleasant and attentive. We enjoyed the whole experience.

Lovely pub with cosy areas not one big open space. It was busy but bar staff were good and didn't have to wait long to get served.

Great food. Great value. Great staff. Looking forward to our next visit

Service and staff nice but for what I got for the price I'd have preferred a McDdonalds. Really feels like the trickle down of quality of product and portion control of the cost of living crisis is hitting the service industry to the point where its barely worth ordering a meal for the cuts and savings that the kitchen is trying to make on the menu items. Maybe next time just a catch up ad a drink, I'd give the food a miss.

Avoid this place if they offer you the buffet, unless you’re willing to ration it out between your party. You’ll end up with a cold reception from the staff with zero customer service skills. Food margin is high, just give a fair amount of food for the price.

Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff! Prices are reasonable, with live bands almost every Saturday. Highly recommend.

Always go here on a Wednesday evening for the set menu and the quiz. The staff are always very pleasant and friendly the menu is really good and quality of food excellent.plus the quiz is always very good run by Nigel.

We visited your pub today, to say we was disappointed is an understatement, our starter of prawns was delicious, the main meal was an absolute disgrace my self and my sister chose ham egg and chips, the plate was swimming in water from the ham so that was definately from defrosting it was also very slimey our garden peas were like little green bullets, so basically we had egg and chips for our main meal Oh and there was shell in my sisters egg, we waited 1 hour for the main course and then a further half hour for desert and this point we had a few mouthfuls and left as we was so disappointed and staff were not very helpful at all.Shall not be visiting again

Service was excellent and staff were very helpful and considerate and accommodating. Food was amazing and great value for money. We had the festive menu and it was all lovely.

I’m a regular at the hardwick arms and have been for many years, the staff are always amazing and always can have a good chat with them, food is always amazing give or take the few meals here and there but 8/10 top notch. Would 100% recommend

Went there tonight for my birthday celebration, all tables were reserved, we found one that was not reserved and sat and ordered a meal for 4. We spent over £100 and was just about to order desserts, our friends were joining us for a bit to eat and drinks about half hour later, we were in bar section . One of the staff came over and put a board with reserved on it at 8pm, when I questioned it and asked if we could stay at table for the evening , it wasn’t reserved when we sat earlier she said no! We had to leave. I’m absolutely disgusted , we drink in there a lot all throughout the year, we left and went somewhere else, we shall not return

I’m a regular to the Hardwick arms and I’m always greeted with friendly staff and I am always able to have a laugh with them whilst there on there shift. I would like to make a special shout out to Mandy and will, 2 of the management team, always outstanding and really know what they are doing.

Lovely pub with friendly staff. We went for Sunday lunch, which was hot and plenty to fill you up - great meal. Our Sunday lunch was served by Chloe who was attentive and asked if we need anything else of which we had extra gravy.

Have visited here on numerous occasions. Staff always polite and food good but portion sizes are not good at the moment. I paid £2.75 for extra greens thinking there would be a mixture only to find a small portion of cabbage. Will re-think returning for food again.

We always have a great experience at the Hardwick its nice to get a smile from the staff and always a warm welcome. The food is great value and we love the quiz night on a Wednasday. Special thank you goes to Chloe who is very attentative and also Will who is very proffesional. Thanks Guys.

Had to wait ages for food and turned up wrong. No apologies just rude staff . Also when we paid drinks had been added to our meal which we didn't have. Once again no apologies. Service was dreadful would never go back . So disappointed . Shame. They need so much training it's unbelievable??

Just awful! We last went here several years ago and had a bad experience so vowed never to return. Unfortunately my parents decided to book here for an evening meal last night, table booked for 7:00pm to 9:00pm, they arrived at 6:45pm ordered their food and didn’t get served until……….. 10:30pm. To top it all both starters were stone cold and had to go back. They came back reheated, the main meal was edible and as an apology the Wick offered them a free pudding due to the 3.5 hour wait for cold soup and cold mushrooms. Unsurprisingly they said don’t bother and left. Not good enough! Avoid like the plague!!!!!

Food was fine, no complaints there.... Appalling service.... and no one seemed to care, which is the worst thing!! Even the dodgy toilets didnt bother me, but come on.... At least give a damn about service..

Barmaid tried to hand me a ripped £5 with serial number missing. I complained. She pulled a face put it back in the till and tried the same trick on my friend 5 mins later.

Always a great pint, at a good price with speedy service and a brilliant atmosphere no matter what day of the week you come in. Food is also just as good, never had to wait very long even though the pub is rammed, and the food is consistently tasty and always served hot.

Amazing experience. The hot chocolate and food was unreal and there are no words for the service provided. The girls were incredible!!

Standard pub food. Not as good as it used to be. The haddock I had today was a poor thing, more batter than fish. Getting pepper out of the pot is almost impossible as the holes are only slightly bigger than the pepper grains. As for the salt the salt itself was so damp that it didn't flow at all. When I took the top off it was clear that the pot had not been cleaned for a long time. Just not good enough. Off my list of places for a quick meal. We won't be going back.

My Husband and I have been going for a meal at the Hardwick Arms as regular customers for a few years now and never had cause to complain until yesterday 21st August which was one of the worst meals I have ever tasted the meal we ordered was Fishcakes chips and peas a meal we had ordered before and enjoyed but on this occasion the fish cakes were thin tasteless things chips were dry and not fresh warmed up oven chips peas not even a dessert spoon full I asked if they had had a new chef the waitress said they had had a few obviously that may be the problem

The food was delicious, and the service by chloe was immaculate!! Very impressed!

Cracking pub, not overly expensive, friendly staff, good all round

1 out 5 Posh fish and chips, I should have took a photo. Nothing posh about over cooked dry chips, good job there was only a a small handful of chips , I was starving so ate them up…. No wonder there was a delay in the food arriving, chef was to busy cleaning down after the lunch rush…. My mother had scampi, tasteless … better from Marco’s fish and chips and cheeped, chips , again over cooked… I mean… if a chef cant even cook chips… ripped off again, what a waste of hard earned money at a time when everything is so expensive, this was my first meal out in 12 months … disgusting food!!!

It's been a while since I last visited any pub to be honest, but I was parched . The pub was fairly quiet, it was 17.30. sat out side at the rear which was fine, until somebody from the pub stated throwing heavy metal scrap into a bin or skip. Some locals called out to complain, but whoever was doing this continued. Having just pain £7:70 for 1 large Pepsi and 1 small diet coke I was a bit proved. I asked myself why if pubs are going out of business do they charge extortionate prices for soft drinks. The pub itself is fine, tidy and clean. Needless to say I didn't feel like food with the noise and prices.

Came here for drinks with friends as it was one of our mates birthday, had a perfect pint of proper job poured for me by Lilly. All the staff were friendly and welcoming!

Sunday lunch, couldn't fault it at all. Very nice meal.

A pleasant enough establishment. Bar staff friendly and very helpful. Waiting staff less so. Food was of reasonable quality, main parts of dishes were of pretty good quality but vegetables and sides had a very frozen then microwaved look and taste about them. The pub was a convenient stop off on my journey but not one I'd go out of my way for. Pricing was reasonable for the quality. Food needs an uplift to make it a place I'd visit with any regularity.

Food was incredible, especially the ultimate burger and garlic bread! Staff were friendly - the service was great!!!!

Lovely Pub to go to with friends and family. We had a lovely encounter with a member of staff named Charlie, she was lovely, patient and explained prices of drinks to us which was very helpful. I would definately come back for the service alone! Food was good, drinks were made with quality stuff (didn’t taste cheap like most pubs) all round lovely experience.
