Old Irish Harp in Walsall

Molly and the rest of the staff were really lovely and welcoming! Great service and lovely food. We had the steak and the steak and pie duo, it was very nice.

Came here for dinner and really enjoyed it. We all had steaks and they were cooked perfectly and the portions were reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ended up staying for a few drinks afterwards. Will definitely be going back soon.

Wednesday evening had a table booked, was very busy with the weather but staff and service was great, the manager was run ragged but looked after us very well under the conditions and gave us the impression he genuinely cared about our experience there. Will defintiley be back.

The food was great, the atmosphere was lovely and the waiter ryan was really friendly and made it a great night i will come back again for anotger great night

Booked a table on line for 9 pm, received confirmation and arrived at 8.50 and told kitchen was closed. I explained and showed them a copy of my confirmation but frankly the attitude of the staff was they couldn’t care less, I used to use this pub quite regularly over the years with family and friends but won’t bother in future.

Lovely friendly service but Sunday Lunch 3 meat roast wasn't particularly good, beef had little flavour, tiny piece of pork and turkey dry and stringy. 2 big undercooked parsnips and 2 tiny roast potatoes plus a carrot and tiny amount of kale, green beans (2) and peas, meal wasn't very hot but on the plus side a huge Yorkshire pudding and a small piece of crackling were both lovely. Frankly the Toby Carvery roast dinners cost less and taste better ! Excellent service but the food let's it down.

Saturday 12th April 12 45pm After ordering our meals, we waited 90 minutes for starters to arrive during that time the waitress came to ask us again what food we had ordered!!!! Clearly we had been overlooked. The mixed grill was extremely disappointing without any of the expected trimmings. As was the sirloin steak. The plates on which our three main meals were served were hot, but unfortunately the food was far from hot. These meals, were nowhere near worth the money we paid. Added to this we were forced to asked for drinks several times, before they were brought the table. I had already been told that, The Irish Harp was not now the lovely welcoming pub it once was. I should have been warned and stayed away. There are many other places to eat out in Aldridge, offering far better service, and value. I'm sorry to say, that will now be my advice to others.

Not the best experience. Served my £10.25 glass of rose in a tumbler as no wine glasses. When I expressed my disappointment, I was asked “had I seen how busy it was outside”. Service very slow on the food. One dish arrived with nothing in the gravy pot. Seems the chef and the waitress hadn’t noticed it was empty before serving. Card on table advertised drinks 10% discount when ordering on the app, trouble is the app doesn’t work. Won’t be rushing back.

Havnt been here for a long time and unfortunately won't be going again. Firstly there is a really strong smell of drains in the restaurant. Secondly i thought the size of the meals were quite small and average quality. My husband had the lamb and small pie and there were 4 bite size peices of lamb and the smallest pie ever, with a small amount of potatoes. I had lasgne that was an odd taste with burnt garlic bread and 2 cherry tomatoes and 1 piece of lettuce.We also found service was bad, my husband had to go up to order drinks at the bar as no staff came around the area everyone was eating unless they were bringing food. The plates were left for so long I ended up asking for a desert menu just to get someone to the table, to clear the plates, we could see 2 staff tidying the box of vinegar and sauce and chatting whilst waiting for our plates to be cleared, surely clear plates before doing this. We didn't even get one of these boxes with our meal. Finally we got fed up of waiting as no one came back so gave up on a desert and had to go to the bar to pay. Even that took ages. Very disappointed.

Great, friendly service. Very accommodating when we were squashed at our table and moved us. Good food. Six of us ate well and everyone was happy. Just surprised at price of a large glass of rose at £10.25!!

Went for Mother's Day. Great little pub, lovely food really helpful and polite staff. Probably one of the best roast dinners I've had in a pub style restaurant 😋.

Visited on 15th March. Started with a cappuccino which was horrible, just coloured water. I sent this back and changed this for a hot chocolate. Again this wasn't good, very weak and looked and tasted like coloured water. With the price of the drinks I think the pub should invest in a new machine! The menu was new which was ok, but had limited choice compared to the old menu. The fish & chips and burgers were good but myself & daughter didn't particularly like the Hunters Chicken Schnitzel mainly due to the cheese sauce and soggy rocket salad. The best part of the meal was the puddings. All I can say good job there was 30% off the main meals otherwise I would've felt like we were robbed. The Irish Harp is a lovely place but it definitely needs a few tweaks before we visit again.

Food could have been hotter, so could the dining area. But other than that we enjoyed our visit and will return

Bar staff need to realise who's next in the queue and it wasn't even busy, had mixed grill with one of the mains and steak was very chewy, restaurant was clean and waitress was very accommodating

For almost £18(!) for my Fish and Chips, I asked for my peas to be changed to beans as peas give me digestive issues. I was told 'you can't change it now' by the waitress with a stern look on her face, proceeded with 'you can change it to beans, but you'll have to pay for it' to which we unwillingly said 'okay that's fine', to which she responded with 'you'll have to go and order it at the bar'. Okay. So, after digging into our food which was already lukewarm on a hot day (can you believe it?), we're going to go to the bar to order a lukewarm pot of beans when it took us 15 minutes to be served 2 drinks? Lovely outdoor area, but that's about it. Rude staff, slow service and poor customer service. After being spoken to the way we were, we anxiously ate our food and hurried off the site. What a waste of our hard-earned £60, to just be disrespected. If you wish to make ANY amendment considering how expensive the food is in regards to the location (it's not Central London is it?), not to mention it's 2025 when intolerances and allergies are more prevalent than ever, this isn't the place to go. A very backwards thinking establishment. If the waitress spoke to us the way she did, God knows what the management are like. Don't go.

We were on the 30% discount deal and the price we paid for the meal was very good value.my wife uses a walker to assist her in walking, all access areas were good and plenty of room to park the walker. We were served by Emily she was very attentive in her service. When we arrived we were shown to our table by a male member of staff who immediately brought us menu’s and asked if we would like a drink while looking at our menu. This was excellent.

Overpriced poor food even with the deals I wouldn't go back

Had our works Christmas meal at the Irish Harp. The food was excellent with very generous portions. All of the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend spending an evening here, a very nice atmosphere and lovely surroundings 😁

Thank you to all at the OIH. *** I brought my mother to the Old Irish Harp for her birthday meal yesterday. She really enjoyed the food, as did I, and our server - Mia, was lovely and very helpful and courteous at all times. The non-alcohol drinks (as my mum is diabetic and I was driving) were really nice - Erdinger. So thank you and I look forward to seeing you again. My compliments to the chef and all staff at OIH.

Friendly atmosphere and staff are very nice and attentive. Lovely bar area with exposed wood beams everywhere. Food was good there's plenty of options for gluten free people as well. I imagine it's great in the summer as there is plenty of outdoor tables and seating so I'll be back in a few months!

The young man who greeted us and served us is a credit to you, so lovely, friendly. Made a great recommendation and got me to change my dessert and he made a very good choice, cheesecake divine. All 3 courses were great, baked mushrooms, steak pie and cheesecake. Lovely atmosphere, definately will be returning and was quite busy for a Wednesday too.

Really nice atmosphere. The waitress explained the menu was due to change and some items were not available. One was the buttermilk chicken burger which my niece wanted, they catered for this and made her a chicken burger using the buttermilk tenders instead! We all enjoyed our food and puddings! Lovely food

Lovely pub/restaurant with great food and atmosphere.

Our waitress was lovely and engaging from start to finish and the tall young barman was also very professional and welcoming. But they were the only good things. The other staff we saw going in and out of through the restaurant were dishevelled. They looked like they could do with a good wash and press as well as their clothes! They looked like food came in good time, but it was poorly presented, it lacked card and attention. The calamari was over cooked. The lasagne, was just warm enough to be OK but usually they come out piping hot. (The dish was!?!) The ‘garlic’ bread was barely garlicky and the green salad was a pile of rocket dumped on the plate, with a couple of little gem leaves thrown on the top. The lasagne dish had quite clearly had cheese thrown on the top, put under the grill then served up without care. (Burnt bits of cheese surrounded the lasagne.) A real shame as the taste was quite nice. More care and attention is needs all round. We were cold most of the evening as there seemed to be a cold draft from both directions.

Everything was excellent. Great varied menu with different items on.

Not the cheapest lunch but tasty all the same

Well organised outdoor dining ,shorter menu than normal but all very nice under obvious different to normal circumstances, but worth noting order a drink when half way down the one your on .

My family and I had our Xmas dinner at this pub. We have eaten out for Xmas a few times now and I have to say this was by far the best ever. So much so we immediately rebooked for next Xmas! Upon arrival we had a lovely warm welcome by Emily, the Assistant Manager and then throughout the meal we were looked after by Millie, who was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious - we couldn’t fault it. Our starters, mains and puddings were all stunning. To provide exceptional service as well as the perfect meal on this scale (busy Xmas day - the place was full of families) is incredible. Thavk you to all at the Irish Harp for giving us a wonderful Xmas day lunch. You did a brilliant job.

My friend had booked The Snug for a gathering. It was snug and comfortable for our group. Drinks and food was good. Service was good also.

This was the best Christmas Day lunch my family of 12 have ever had.We’ve tried hotels and Golf Clubs , but this place beats them all. Everything was 5 star, the food, the ambiance, the service, a special day made extra special!!!! Many thanks to Emily and our very attentive waitress Milly.

Won a free meal for four for boxing day! It was for the main courses only but we could choose anyth8ng from the menu. Service was great really attentive staff. Food was lovely and served promptly. Quality of the meat on my mixed grill was great! No complaints- only thing is it was much quieter than I expected for boxing day evening. Had a lovely time and will definitely visit again. X

We had the best Sunday Roast for a very long time. We go to a different restaurant each Sunday & non compares with The Old Irish Harp for quality of food, variety of vegetables & excellent service. So good was our experience that I have booked to bring a party of 22 members of Walsall U3A "Meet'n'Eat" Group for lunch on Feb.9th. Lovely atmosphere too. Well done

Poor service. Although breakfast with santa not festive. Santa was poor Didn't recieve all breakfast items. Toilets dirty and smelly although early morning. Smoking shelter where we waited until opening time was dirty. Tables sticky not wiped ashtrays full.

Nice enough place - waitress friendly and helpful Table was dirty with sticky rings - general condition of table - apparently awaiting re varnishing - scruffy and well worn Food was served reasonably promptly however ratio of pat’e to toast not good a little more toast would been good Main courses arrived presentation was average - 1 meal returned as wrong - credit given for that - the chicken in the hunters chicken was extremely tough to cut and hard to chew - all of the meats on the mixed grill - with the exception Of the lamb chop- were over cooked and very dry On a high note chips were very good Overall food was edible but not completely enjoyable

Terrible experience, long wait for food and when it did arrive both dishes were cold. Asked for replacement meals but just warmed up in microwave and returned. Both dishes were ruined, dry and tasted awful. Asked to speak to manage who was a young women who had no customer skills, she was dismissive and blamed her staff. Overrated, overpriced with poor customer service.

Nice food and staff were excellent. The only issue we had was that the heating wants turning up. The place was cold and obviously the meal goes cold. There was no hot water in the gents toilets.

Went for family birthday meal, group of 7 and cannot fault this place, lovely decor, friendly staff and very good food, my husband is usually a harsh critic when eating steak in a pub but said his ribeye was one of the best he s had and peppercorn sauce was amazing, my kebab meal was delicious and rest of family on fish and chips were also happy with food. We all had a great experience and will definately return

Manager (didn’t get his name) was amazing, always busy, always polite and very prompt. I used to work for the Harp but over 8 years ago and so glad he has upheld the hard working reputation. He was a credit plus gave my dad a free drink for his birthday.

Great service and food quality seems to have improved since my last visit. Will be back again soon.

A brilliant restaurant that lays the benchmark for pub grub. Steak Americano with dripping sauce was amazing and desert finished me off.
