Very interesting place Good atmosphere

The young man who greeted us and served us is a credit to you, so lovely, friendly. Made a great recommendation and got me to change my dessert and he made a very good choice, cheesecake divine. All 3 courses were great, baked mushrooms, steak pie and cheesecake. Lovely atmosphere, definately will be returning and was quite busy for a Wednesday too.

Really nice atmosphere. The waitress explained the menu was due to change and some items were not available. One was the buttermilk chicken burger which my niece wanted, they catered for this and made her a chicken burger using the buttermilk tenders instead! We all enjoyed our food and puddings! Lovely food

Lovely pub/restaurant with great food and atmosphere.

Our waitress was lovely and engaging from start to finish and the tall young barman was also very professional and welcoming. But they were the only good things. The other staff we saw going in and out of through the restaurant were dishevelled. They looked like they could do with a good wash and press as well as their clothes! They looked like food came in good time, but it was poorly presented, it lacked card and attention. The calamari was over cooked. The lasagne, was just warm enough to be OK but usually they come out piping hot. (The dish was!?!) The ‘garlic’ bread was barely garlicky and the green salad was a pile of rocket dumped on the plate, with a couple of little gem leaves thrown on the top. The lasagne dish had quite clearly had cheese thrown on the top, put under the grill then served up without care. (Burnt bits of cheese surrounded the lasagne.) A real shame as the taste was quite nice. More care and attention is needs all round. We were cold most of the evening as there seemed to be a cold draft from both directions.

Everything was excellent. Great varied menu with different items on.

Lovely tea time meal with hubby, god choice of food and drinks staff were very pleasant and efficient. We also had a voucher for 30% off main courses which was useful

Not the cheapest lunch but tasty all the same

Well organised outdoor dining ,shorter menu than normal but all very nice under obvious different to normal circumstances, but worth noting order a drink when half way down the one your on .

My family and I had our Xmas dinner at this pub. We have eaten out for Xmas a few times now and I have to say this was by far the best ever. So much so we immediately rebooked for next Xmas! Upon arrival we had a lovely warm welcome by Emily, the Assistant Manager and then throughout the meal we were looked after by Millie, who was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious - we couldn’t fault it. Our starters, mains and puddings were all stunning. To provide exceptional service as well as the perfect meal on this scale (busy Xmas day - the place was full of families) is incredible. Thavk you to all at the Irish Harp for giving us a wonderful Xmas day lunch. You did a brilliant job.

My friend had booked The Snug for a gathering. It was snug and comfortable for our group. Drinks and food was good. Service was good also.

This was the best Christmas Day lunch my family of 12 have ever had.We’ve tried hotels and Golf Clubs , but this place beats them all. Everything was 5 star, the food, the ambiance, the service, a special day made extra special!!!! Many thanks to Emily and our very attentive waitress Milly.

Won a free meal for four for boxing day! It was for the main courses only but we could choose anyth8ng from the menu. Service was great really attentive staff. Food was lovely and served promptly. Quality of the meat on my mixed grill was great! No complaints- only thing is it was much quieter than I expected for boxing day evening. Had a lovely time and will definitely visit again. X

Thank you to all at the OIH. *** I brought my mother to the Old Irish Harp for her birthday meal yesterday. She really enjoyed the food, as did I, and our server - Mia, was lovely and very helpful and courteous at all times. The non-alcohol drinks (as my mum is diabetic and I was driving) were really nice - Erdinger. So thank you and I look forward to seeing you again. My compliments to the chef and all staff at OIH.

We had the best Sunday Roast for a very long time. We go to a different restaurant each Sunday & non compares with The Old Irish Harp for quality of food, variety of vegetables & excellent service. So good was our experience that I have booked to bring a party of 22 members of Walsall U3A "Meet'n'Eat" Group for lunch on Feb.9th. Lovely atmosphere too. Well done

Poor service. Although breakfast with santa not festive. Santa was poor Didn't recieve all breakfast items. Toilets dirty and smelly although early morning. Smoking shelter where we waited until opening time was dirty. Tables sticky not wiped ashtrays full.

Nice enough place - waitress friendly and helpful Table was dirty with sticky rings - general condition of table - apparently awaiting re varnishing - scruffy and well worn Food was served reasonably promptly however ratio of pat’e to toast not good a little more toast would been good Main courses arrived presentation was average - 1 meal returned as wrong - credit given for that - the chicken in the hunters chicken was extremely tough to cut and hard to chew - all of the meats on the mixed grill - with the exception Of the lamb chop- were over cooked and very dry On a high note chips were very good Overall food was edible but not completely enjoyable

Food was really good, atmosphere was lovely and the staff were really friendly. The service was quite slow but can understand a bit because it was Sunday lunchtime. Very good for allergies and enough options for vegetarians

Terrible experience, long wait for food and when it did arrive both dishes were cold. Asked for replacement meals but just warmed up in microwave and returned. Both dishes were ruined, dry and tasted awful. Asked to speak to manage who was a young women who had no customer skills, she was dismissive and blamed her staff. Overrated, overpriced with poor customer service.

Nice food and staff were excellent. The only issue we had was that the heating wants turning up. The place was cold and obviously the meal goes cold. There was no hot water in the gents toilets.

Went for family birthday meal, group of 7 and cannot fault this place, lovely decor, friendly staff and very good food, my husband is usually a harsh critic when eating steak in a pub but said his ribeye was one of the best he s had and peppercorn sauce was amazing, my kebab meal was delicious and rest of family on fish and chips were also happy with food. We all had a great experience and will definately return

Manager (didn’t get his name) was amazing, always busy, always polite and very prompt. I used to work for the Harp but over 8 years ago and so glad he has upheld the hard working reputation. He was a credit plus gave my dad a free drink for his birthday.

A brilliant restaurant that lays the benchmark for pub grub. Steak Americano with dripping sauce was amazing and desert finished me off.

Had a lovely meal today with friends and family. 5 roast dinners and I had the sirloin steak. All cooked beautifully, the medium rare steak I asked for was excellent. All in all a lovely late afternoon. Definitely recommended

What a disappointment! Following a promotional Irish Harp Remembrance offer arriving through our door, (limited edition Poppy glass with your drink to keep) my family and I took the opportunity to call in for refreshments following attending the nearby Remembrance Day Parade in Aldridge Sunday 10th November. The venue claims to be supporting our Veterans with events and promotions. My husband is a Veteran and was wearing his medals and Regimental headdress following the parade. On arrival we saw a sign saying that they also welcome Blue Light Card discount. Great! Unfortunately my husband producing his BL card wasn’t enough, the barman insisted that he download the app and obtain the QR code. This proved difficult. We then asked if we could have our drinks in a Poppy glass as per the promotion? Not possible replied the barman, ‘we ran out of those weeks ago’, was the reply. Ok, let’s order drinks then, we may even stay for lunch. The barman then refuses to serve our 21 year old son without ID, (I get that, it’s the law), but talk about making it really difficult to get served. My husband may have been wearing a clown outfit, it would have received the same respect. So it was a swift about turn and off we went refreshment less. Proud to support our Veterans? I think not! We will not be returning to the Irish Harp and my husband will be sure to be very vocal when discussing our experience with the charities and organisations that he is involved with. Shame!

Very friendly staff and lovely food, first time going as family have recently moved close buy. Definitely recommend for special occasions or just a lunch. Do specials on Wednesday and Thursday.

Had a really lovely time. Staff were very welcoming and were attentive and friendly throughout. Meals were superb. My steak was cooked to perfection. The Porn Star Martini cocktail was one of the best I'd had. We'll definitely be back again.

Booked online for early dinner at 5.30. We arrived on time, and before we had even sat down we were asked what drinks we would like. The server seemed to be rushing us the whole time. Then, at just before 7pm, we were informed that the table was needed because they were busy, so effectively evicted from the restaurant! We were asked if we had vouchers which we didn't so those with discounted vouchers were given priority over full paying customers. Won't be going back!

Beautiful meal this evening. Rump steak, steak and ale pie and delicious apple and cherry crumble with custard. It’s been years since we last visited but we will return soon. Lovely comfortable setting. Compliments to the chef - everything was cooked to perfection. Thankyou to Millie for looking after us from the moment we arrived until we left. ♥️

Lovely restaurant/ pub. Food we had wasn't what we ordered as they were out of steak. We were disappointed but the manager provided well cooked food and refunded the cost of meals. We felt he had gone above and beyond to put things right. V impressed. His service means we will return. Recommended.

Really good meal and great service received. The wait on food wasn’t long and it was actually for my Mom’s birthday and they even bought a little chalkboard with that on which was a nice touch.

We love it there, it's our favourite place. I took my husband for a birthday meal as we both had a trio roast which was amazing and value for money. It's so relaxed there and the staff are very polite.

It was suggested we all go here by a friend who lives locally. We had never been before and annoyingly my sat nav made me miss the turning off the island into their car park The outside looked promising and inside it's pleasant enough. It's part of the Marstons chain so you know it will be a corporate menu and standardised meals. Unfortunately there were a few items on the menu that they hadn't got. The food was pleasant, nothing stood out and the portions a bit meagre. The service a bit chaotic but to be fair they appeared to be understaffed. Very busy for a Thursday night so obviously very popular with the locals. Nice outdoor area but that will have to wait until next summer now.

On a very wet Sunday we thought we would walk in and take a chance that they had space. We are a party of 4 adults and one small dog. We were welcomed in by a man working the coffee machine, he said that help would be with us shortly. He hadn't even finished his speech when help arrived. We were shown to the back room of the bar, a fabulous little room, the only other couple soon finished and we had the room to ourselves 😁. We ordered two Sunday lunch Trio meat and two Beef. The food arrived very fast and efficient and was nice and hot. Very very nice 👍 Would recommend the Old Irish to everyone. Best service in a pub for a long time. The best bit was the 30% discount as it's a Marston pub.

Food quality not the best. Steak - glaze gave a bitter taste. Sweet potato fries nice taste. Weak Merlot gravy. Steak and ale pie tasty.

My parents eat here every week and love it. I had the chance to join them. I had scampi and chips, followed by the raspberry panacotta. All very well cooked and lovely. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable for 3 x 2 courses plus a bottle of wine. Update: Revisited and still as great as ever. Nicky is always super friendly and helpful

From the moment we sat down, the staff were friendly and super attentive, such a pleasant rarity! The food arrived promptly and my cousin and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The after dinner hot drinks with the choice of bourbon or custard cream is a genius idea and a lovely surprise. Well done and thank you Old Irish Harp. Big smiley staff, lovely food and a good old biscuit for afters. What's not to love?! We'll definitely be returning.

Food was OK I had mixed grill but it was very dry but the wife had chicken butter burger & she said it was the best ever . The tables was very sticky & dirty in the bar we had to clean them ourselves
