Great community pub which had enjoyed improvements over the last six months With great beers and improved food menu with home cooked meals and especially Sunday lunch Warm and welcoming atmosphere ,child and dog friendly Weekly Monday pub quizzes and monthly entertainment including Bingo

Place has gone down hill unfortunately No guest ales, carpet was a mess Rock music playing, definitely won't be going there again soon Shameful really

Went here for a pint during Pelsall carnival had to wait ages to get served also I had heard staff were rude totally different from when Tom had it

Can’t give it less than 1 unfortunately . Used to a great pub. New owners have ruined it. Beer is awful , pub smells , outside is a tip.

The food wasn't great the hunters chicken wasn't what it was meant to be the chicken was like it came out of the Sahara desert

Highly recommend we booked yesterday for a wake for 50 people, food and service were amazing we also had vegetarian and gluten free options which were perfect. Plenty to go around plus some extras to take home

I'm a believer in giving honest opinions and leaving reviews even if its negative feedback to make things better....... Good and bad........... The family who have just taken over are lovely always chatty.... Helpful and quick service they also seem family entoriated. We have been a few times for drinks since they have taken over the establishment from the old owners...... We have never been regular customers so can't really compare. So far over the last few weeks, drinks we had initially compared to now haven't got any better. Soft drinks are still warm, flat and decanted from ltr bottles purchased from a local supermarket. Limited ice despite the drinks being so warm isn't appealing. - tip if you are going to serve in this way at least make sure it's ice cold and fresh. Glasses are often not cleaned enough and have reminace of the last person's use. Everyone is entitled to their teething problems so we give them benifit of the doubt and are happy to return. They have just started the food and are a few weeks in I believe, so thought we would also give the Sunday lunch a try. In Pelsall village, decent food is far and few between unless you want to drive for miles elsewhere, cook for yourself or settle for microwaved frozen food. . Today's visit has left me and my family Very disappointed. I'm not going to slate everything about it as its clear the new owners want to give it their best and in current times is going to be difficult enough taking over a pub in a new area and are obviously keen to make an impression. It's child and dog friendly ........ however, the food we have had today was well below par. If you are going to start and serve food/ drinks and offer a service then at least make it so that customers want to return even if it's your first attempt there's no excuse for poor food when you have such low servings. I got the impression that it was only a means to an end.......... I'm under the impression that they only advertised for 30 servings of Sunday lunch so I have no idea why it was so poor... Maybe A way of making an extra few £ when custom is low. £10.95 for a Sunday lunch that consisted of overcooked beef.... Potatoes that our party had a debate of if they were tinned or not... Frozen Yorkshire puddings..... Bisto gravy... Carrots were nice and peas not overcooked Childs pizza was a microwaved frozen one. No options of starters or desserts as they hadn't prepared and waiting for delivery from bookers along with No table service which I can't accept due to the low cost of meal. New owners deserve a chance use it or loose it... I personally would of taken the pub over, closed it. Redecorated, and put my own spin on it. Shame as a good food pub in Pelsall is lacking. Hope it improves

First time we've tried the food here. It's OK but as is the norm nowadays, everything seems sweet.

Hadn't been for years ...went for Sunday lunch ...it was edible but far to much....gave the leftover beef for a dog who was their...no room I lounge so had to eat on bar ...needs a bit of tlc...

This is a typical pub that serves pub food. Interior is warm and welcoming, staff very helpful and friendly. Food is prepared in the pub itself (not bought in and microwaved) it is typical pub food but is reasonably presented.

Cracking steaks as per usual! 1 well done, 1 medium and 1 rare. All came out perfect. I still need to know your secret Tom!

There was a good selection of reasonably priced food. Drinks not too expensive. Pleasant old style interior with decent views over the common. Car park adequate and very close to McLean way should you want to take a walk

Ok pub but expensive drinks. 1x ale 1x cider nearly £8:50. Décor is very tired and dated. It's definitely the more expensive option in the village compared to the other pubs in the area.

The food is absolutely delicious, the quantity is ok but its cramed onto tiny plates which makes for uncomfortable eating so, larger plates please. The place feels tired and needs an uplift of something. The lady serving is really nice. I dont know if i shall return.

A reasonable dual aspect local public house. Good sized car park and nice views across the common. Staff were pleasant enough. Coffee was very disappointing though.

Absolute gem of a pub. The staff, the beer and the food are fantastic. Dog friendly too.

A quiet night when we called in. We had a mixed grill and a steak with chips, not large meals but certainly filling. Also tasty, good value for money too as they aren't stupidly priced. Selection of beers to choose from as well. For tasty, value for money food and beer kept well, it's overall feeling of being a "local" I give it 5 stars

I just love this place, staff are always super friendly!!! and never had a bad meal there, there is always quizes, music quizes, bingo nights going on...just a lovely lovely little pub.

Great food Value for money Friendly staff

Called in after seeing the circus across the road. Bit dated inside but OK. We ordered some food & were a bit shocked at how tiny the plates are - more like a side plate. Ordered steak pie which was delicious, Dad had cottage pie which he also enjoyed. My husband had a mixed grill. He said it was all really tasty but just very small, one sausage a tiny peice of gammon & little steak but having said that it was inexpensive so can't expect much more. Unfortunately not homemade chips but all enjoyed our food 😋

The Railway is a lovely situated pub.Idesal for locals,passing by or somewhere to visit day or evening. A great place this coming Jubilee holiday,with music,cider festival good food and the adjoining picturesque common to stroll around or relax on,right alongside the Railway Inn. The food is excellent,the drinks fine, although I do find the beers a bit overpriced. Tuesday night specials two hot meals for £10. Good Value as they are plentiful and nicely done.with good variety. Good seating area in lounge , with adjoining bar and plenty of parking space.

Sunday lunch with family, and the food was excellent and great value for money. The staff are amazing too and so friendly, a lovely atmosphere.

Would just like to say what an amazing experience visiting this pub. The Sunday dinner was delicious the beef is to die for. The staff are so friendly. Service was prompted and the menu is so reasonably priced. A fantastic Sunday experience we are looking forward to coming back very soon

Tradition pub with a good choice of beers and other drinks, everyone was friendly and it has pleasant decor, didn’t eat but food looked decent, fairly standard pub food but I prefer than to fancy pretentious pub food, will come again

If you are bored with the same old / same old chain of pub's where they all seem the same, try this one.Simple menu but a good choice well priced. Good and friendly service, good choice of beers/ale's.Yes I would recommend you book a table we didn't (but we got there at 6pm) then the pub filled up very quickly it's a popular pub.Will we go again.... Yes no problem.
