Great food and clean pub definitely recommend a visit

Wow i was made so welcome at the crown on watling street for my pub dinner,molly the server looked after me whith a outstanding quality service . food was so good iff i had a bigger stomack i would have ate more,it was so lovley,quality food at its best,a roast chicken dinner,then a choclate and ice cream desert. Great food, perfect service, good price. Been with my family several times over the summer and have nothing but praise for its continued good food and drink with a smile from all that serve us.

First visit and was really impressed. The menu was varied, and the food was good. Customer service was very good 👍. Decor clean and well maintained, looks like it has had a recent upgrade.

A relaxed atmosphere with very friendly and smiley staff. Food standards are good for a pub, with a good cook on the food with a nice presentation. Prices won't break the bank either.

Just been, service was great, and food was lovely. Not been for years. So glad that I tried there again. My friend had Scampi, I had the gammon, with sweet potato fries. Perfect!

Ten of us gathered for family lunch, the service was excellent, considering the size of our party the meals came together, in a very short time. The food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to all. Highly recomend.

It's been a long time since I've eaten at The Crown. We were welcomed as we arrived, the service was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, both the beef and turkey was perfectly cooked and tender. Although we were full we had sweets which were lovely. All at a good price, we'll visit again soon

We were greeted by very friendly staff and they were very efficient and friendly. I noted how well they cleaned up after guests had left the table. Note First time we have visited in 2 years due to pandemic. We had used to use the Crown regularly. We will certainly come again.

The Crown is clean, light and airy. Staff were all very friendly and helpful with a smile too! My hubby had a curry and I had the pie. Very tasty food and will definitely go back again. Well Done Everyone at The Crown

Abysmal food camo peas underdone pie tough steak cheap tasting sausage, food is fairly good for price I still expect a good plate of food and good presentation not different coloured peas and underdone pie and horrible sausage also eggshell in my eggs! Avoid like the plague, chefs obviously inexperienced or just don't care about the food they serve

We had a lovely meal, there were 6 of us, all different orders, the food was very good, service was good too, even though you seemed a little understaffed at times, and the family enjoyed the quiz.

Staff were really friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, they were accommodating and let us sit in the bar, as our friends had to bring their dog with them….he even had his own little dinner, the food was really good, thanks for great service

Food was quickly served hot and tasted good. The lasagne was very slightly overcooked but to be fair I quite like crunchy bits!

Expensive, long waits to get served. No atmosphere.

We havent been here for a few years as the food was rubbish, but we went tonight and i was amazed at the food and staff level it was fantastic, and for one member of staff (Italia) she was fantastic a massive thumbs up from me and we will be going back. Thank you to all at the crown, brownhills

Called in on a Thursday lunchtime. Good number of cars on the car park and quite a few customers inside when we went in. Very pleasant welcome and no delay in ordering drinks. After studying the menu we made our choice and shared a hot steak and cheese baguette. Food arrived after a perfectly reasonable timeframe and was hot but not too hot, packed with steak and plenty of cheese with some chips included. Very impressed by how clean, tidy and welcoming this place was and will certainly visit again for an evening meal. Very happy, thank you!

We thought 5pm on a Sunday should be reasonably quiet - and based on the carpark and restaurant, it definitely wasn't overly busy. Firstly, we waited over 30mins for a couple of pies and kids' meals, but I could see there were a couple of bigger groups also waiting so fair enough. For dessert, we ordered 2 children's desserts which also took 30mins to arrive. We nearly left rather than wait. The order via QR code was glitchy so we had to give up and wait at the bar, it was also showing items available which weren't and visa versa. This is the second time I've been here within a few weeks at a quietish time and had to wait longer than you'd expect. The Crown used to be a nicer option over other pubs in the area with a varied specials board and cake choices, now I think it's nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Menu is better .But this place used to be really busy when it was 2for1 now its dead .The portions are so small for the price you pay especially compared to the husky Arms down the road which is now always busy !need to review size of portions and or price

Efficient friendly polite service, even checking whether we wanted coffee before turning off the machine. Lovely food, delicious pudding and lots of choice. Dog friendly in areas with treats and dog bowls available

Just had a lovely meal. Service was great, I has organised for a cake to be brought out at the end of the meal and staff were brilliant, bringing plates, a knife and serviettes. I was also allowed to put up banners, confetti on the table and being helium balloons for the table too. Food was tasty and a good selection.

A lovely place, the staff are amazing. Dawn, Simon and Molly are fantastic they always make us feel welcome as do all th staff. We wouldn't go anywhere else for food. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is amazing too.

Pub was busy on arrival which was good to see , we were welcomed , greeted & acknowledged by staff who were delivering meals . When available we were taken to our table which was clean , comfortable and stocked with condiments / cutlery & napkins We ordered at the bar - there was a little wait in the queue as staff didnt appear to be confident using till We had starters obviously freshly cooked & hot , and great tasting as usual We then had a fairly long wait for our mains ( roast chicken sunday lunch & steak & ale pie meal) having to ask twice for meals When they arrived all was hot & fresh and they were tasty as usual Drinks were usual excellent quality & taste

The staff where pleasant and I thought how hard working they were, considering the amount of people that where there we were served very quickly.!! The food was excellent and this thought was shared with all 8 of our party.

It was really busy and there was only one member of staff on the tills so there was a bit of a wait to order. I realized I had been over charged and the issue was identified quickly and refunded the difference. The food was lovely again the only moan my son has is that there are not enough beans on the mixed grill 😂

Staff are always friendly. Nothing to much trouble, food is outstanding, especially the chicken and bacon salad yum 😋 Etc. We also go every Xmas. It's fantastic atmosphere. This is the only place we go at Xmas time. Will be booking again for 2024. Fantastic 5* Pub .

The staff was skeletal. The food took over an hour and a half to come. It came in a minute portion and didn’t have on the plate what was on the menu. We used to go here all the time pre Covid. Now it is somewhere we will never go back to. Extremely disappointed.

Burger ok but should have more salad Nachos wit pulled pork small portion £14 it’s to much fish no good batter too soft should be crispy

Overall the food was great I would have scored slightly more but my pie was not as hot as it could have been! Which is a shame as the rest of the food was lovely. Great service and drinks too!

Took mother there for mother's day dinner,we had a beef dinner which was totally unedible, we waiting two hours for this and when we told them it was unedible all we got was told we didn't have to pay for it,not that I was going to anyway, no we will get you something you can eat, no here's a voucher for a free meal having serving you rubbish.,He was just going round saying the same thing to everyone who ordered the beef dinner. Avoid this place.

Clean and tidy pub. Friendly staff and good food. One criticism, bring back the 2 for 1 menu or offer the 30% vouchers more often

Our second time visiting first time round was great. But when we booked a table of 7 we got put at the back of the pub in a cold narrow corner with dogs we kept nearly tripping over. Half the food we was ordering was out of stock half the pudding was out of stock so we left it. Coffee machine was out of order lipstick on the glass. We told the bar keep and he gave us 25 discount it is a shame as first time around was 5 stars but won't visit again.

Made dogs and ourselves feel welcomed. My mum had a cappuccino which was very weak no taste of coffee . My sister had a hot chocolate no taste to that . She also had a fish finger sandwich which the crusts were stale

It's been a few years since I've been to the Crown, and the last time I came the service I thought couldn't get better, however this visit today has proved me wrong, the service is amazing. All the staff are fantastic and attentive to your needs and the food is amazing. I cannot fault one single part of my visit today

Onion rings overcooked. No garlic bread was in for the pasta dishes and had to substitute for chips, shouldnt advertise a dish if you havent got the complete meal in.

Booked in via website which was easy. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Pub was very clean and welcoming. Table service was prompt. Waitress was very polite and helpful with a friendly attitude. Food was excellent with a good variety of dishes. The crown always delivers. Lovely afternoon.

The place looks great after it revamp. Staff are great and food is good. Also great it can accommodate larger groups.

Booked a table with our dog. Great welcome by staff who showed us to our table. Extremely quite for a Friday night with hardly any customers. Ordered food at the bar & asked the lad to tell the chef not to start cooking our main course until our starters plates had been removed. I understand that isn't always possible when busy but with such a small amount of customers it's quite simple. Even stated that we were in know rush. Of course it didn't happen. The food had obviously been cooked straight away & put under the hot plate. I had ordered gammon & the egg was completely overcooked. Being an ex chef I find the standards in alot of establishments shocking. The young lad who brought our meals to the table didn't even know what the food was ?? If we come back to eat will just order one stage at a time .. I wonder why the place was empty. !!!

We found a very friendly welcome at the crown . Service was first rate . Same with the food . In fact we came to celebrate our friends birthday and they said on the way home that it was a much better meal than they had elsewhere with the family at the weekend.

Absolutely brilliant customer care from when we arrived until we left nothing was too much trouble for the team. We had starters, main and deserts for a party of eight and everything was presented beautifully, food was all eaten , no problems with anything , ten out of ten and we will be back soon , thanks
