Lovely food ,fish white and tasty, had to wait about 30mins but so worth it.

Food was better than expected on the 2 for £12 menu. Had fish and chips with mussy peas and was just right. Nice fish in crispy batter. Inly downside is there is a poor range of ales and doombar seemed a bit watery. But on the whole good.

Wonderful place. It was a very busy Friday night but the staff were amazing they did everything they could to fit us in and our food was served very quickly and perfectly cooked. We’ve been to the White House many times and it’s always been spot on. Can’t fault the place.

went last Wednesday for lunch After 1hour , we went to the bar and explained We were still waiting, So we thought we would pop in today Wednesday for breakfast, online says open 9am Got there at 9.40 doors locked, walked back home, thought maybe 10.00 ?, went again to be told not open till 11.30, so off to spoons we went , not a good experience both times.

Visited The White House in a spur of the moment decision for my mothers 87th birthday treat. We only wanted food (which was no problem) On ordering I was informed that if I downloaded the "Sizzling Pubs App" I would receive 40% discount on my meal. The Young Lady serving me (Hanna) opened me a Tab and I returned to my table to download the app. While doing this the 2 x Fish & chips arrived along with my Sizzling steak & chicken. The meals were very enjoyable & totally value for money. On returning to the bar & producing the voucher on the app Hanna informed me of a saving of over £10!!! Well Done, EXCELLENT customer service

We've frequented the White House quite a few times lately.

We love it here.Such a shame about breakfast now only at weekends but Saturday will have to be our new breakfast day. Staff are fab.

Absolutely excellent service and food. Manager Sarah was lovely and chatty and we were served by Reece who was lovely and friendly. All the staff had a smile and made a good atmosphere. The food was excellent. We've had about 50 meals at the Whitehouse collectively since it was refurbished and we have not had a bad meal yet!

Our 1st visit for food to this place. We are not regular pub diners, so new to experience. I must say very poor value for money. No where in my reservation or table it mentioned we needed to order food from bar. Since restaurant was busy we assumed someone will eventually come for orders. 35 mins later we realised orders need to placed at the bar. Long wait for food after order placed. Food was mediocre but certainly not worth the price. Bluelight card did not work. 1 ketchup bottle passed around 8 tables. Starter portion size was criminal. Don't mind being charged more but did not have sumptuous feel, hence poor value for money. The only thing we found good here was staff. They looked overworked but pleasant and keen to help. I would perhaps stick to restaurants.

We've always found the White House to be friendly, accommodating, with good service even at busy times, and good food. They're always willing to be supportive for Disabled and Neurodivergent customers too. Just ask the staff, either when booking, or when there. It looks good since the refurb, we continue to be happy going there.

Absolutely loved it, large meals, both bar and waiting staff were fab, it's my kids favourite place to eat

Would recommend coming to the white house was a fantastic day can not fault the meal was amazing too staff were lovely really pleasant, would book again for Christmas thanks to all the staff that made the day memorable.. 5*

Four of us came for the Festive set 3 course meal. The staff were lovely, but the food resembled a frozen ready meal. Frozen everything and reconstituted turkey. We were offered free drinks by the lovely manager/waitress (?), but as one of the party managed to eat the other 3 meals, we declined (single bloke - will eat literally anything). Perhaps the chain should stick to their usual menu and not offer anything more complicated. Again. Staff were lovely and must have been embarrassed by the food they were asked to serve

I think this place is under new management and seemed a good change, as definitely an improvement on last visit.

New refit ,drinks reasonable, same old rubber steaks.

Stopped and had big breakfast, wow ! What a plateful of lovely food . Nice friendly staff and good atmosphere to sit and relax over food and drink. Will definitely be back here soon. 😋😋

Always have great food there. The staff Lauren and Reece are brilliant, they are so friendly and efficient, they make your visit there even more enjoyable. Well Done the Whitehouse for having afternoon entertainment once a month.

I am a singer and have performed here twice. I always found the staff friendly and helpful. The food looked fabulous and the small dish I had was well presented and tasted very nice. I would recommend the venue for food and ambience

Myself and 4 guests visited for a pre-booked festive lunch at £17.49pp at 12.30 on Monday 9th December. Totally shocking experience from an establishment I have formerly held in high regard. The main course turkey dinner was a disgrace for which the chef should have been ashamed to serve! Very poor choice & quality of frozen veg, including 2 tiny frozen roasts. No other potatoes. Two very thin, dried up circular slices of sandwich turkey. All meals were returned to kitchen and replaced with a fresher but still well below standard meal. Although dessert was enjoyable the dreadful main meal totally spoiled our visit. No recompense or reduction was made by the management even though I made my views politely clear. Total waste of £100.98p We couldn't possibly recommend this menu or establishment presently.

Had a fabulous visit today.popped in for lunch and was surprised to see they had a singer on.fabulous afternoon, stopped longer than planned as it was so good.

Came here as had previously had a good meal here. This time we ate from the Christmas menu. We could not believe it when the meal arrived that the turkey was processed slices. It looked like it had come from the cold meats chiller at the local supermarket Total disgrace Very poor vegetables with rock hard stuffing The Christmas pudding was OK I have a booking for 14 elderly folks booked which I now mean to cancel even at the loss of the deposit

Lovely food and really nice staff

Visited with my family for food and drinks. We were looked after really well by the team and nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed from the start and even had time to have a good chat. The added bonus was the live entertainment on a Tuesday Lunch we really enjoyed ourselves and are really looking forward to the next one. See you all on the 10th December.

Just popped in for a pint after golf today. Very busy and pub was rammed with seniors eating and waiting for pub singer to turn up. Did not feel made welcome as we had to go to the bar area - not obvious that there is a bar area. Well done for filling your pub up at lunchtime, but please ensure you look after your bread and butter customers who just want a drink too please...

Really nice meal, very friendly bar staff and table service staff, very friendly place, nice comfortable atmosphere.

Enjoyed the meal and generally clean.

Had the ' two for £11.50 ' lunch time meals. Have to say that the gammon I had was the best I've ever had ( and I'm really fussy). It was a good portion of meat - very often these ' deals ' are an excuse to pass off portions badly lacking. Not at the Whitehouse. The waitress was extremely lovely too. We'll definitely be back 😊

I have a food allergy that’s not in the tablet they use the manager Claire came over talked me through the menu went and checked herself the ingredients In the food anything she wasn’t sure of she brought out for me to check and decide after taking off what I couldn’t have it matched with another burger that was cheaper than what I had picked definitely going to go back again

A good experience all round really.the place looks really good after the refurbishment now,I like the decor alot ,and it's got this laid back cosy feel about it .the staff are all keen polite an friendly, we had the Gammon egg chips for 2 and it was a good feed . A couple of drinks for 40 quid bosh 🙂.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much for them. Emma especially looked after us. We were a big table of 15 and they made us and the kids feel so well looked after

Big bar and food area, big menu with plenty of choices. Great selection of ales and beers with a good pint of guinness on tap too. Plenty of parking onsite.

Had the most fantastic meals ever. Couldn't fault anything & Emma went the extra mile. She was so helpful when we said we had never been before. The meals she advised were perfect & generous proportions so to the desserts. Will certainly go again.

Food was amazing. Giving two stars because the service was not great at the beginning. I was with my family and two dogs. We been told the dogs are allowed only in the bar area but on the website doesn’t say something like that but that’s ok. we sat near the bar where we thought is the bar area as we were 4 people and 2 dogs. Ten minutes later one of the ladies at the bar come to our table with a paper and said this is booked in 10 min. I worked as a chef for a long time and to bring the paper that says booked in front of the customer that sit for a while and ordering food and move them is not a great idea and also the paper had a different table number but after they cross it and put the number we were at. Very disrespectful told us we can’t sit there because is booked and that the dogs allowed only in the bar area. But thank you for the heads up before we sit and order to let us know… after that the food was great and the other waiter was great with the service even came and checked if the food was great people like him yes.

Food was delicious. Went there for my birthday, and it was a treat indeed. I was gutted I was so stuffed after dinner to have a pudding but I must say the steak was perfectly cooked. Just the right size for me!

Great meal at The Whitehouse, accommodated a party of 21 for my 30th birthday, great quick service and food came out hot. Will definitely return

First time here for many years and a very pleasant surprise. Good was good and piping hot along side excellent service, will be back again soon.

Not all staff friendly the girl behind the bar was very nice the guy on friday night 27th sept very rude he srrvdd people i front of me then when the girl csme and served me i gave her my money which us legal scottush £20 note he wad rude about the money on which the guy who was at the bar getting served also had a word with him ot being legal tender he still never liiked the rd i was on and said to him they are all nestly forgeries as to which i said there is more English forgeries the girl took the money and apologised for him i think he should be sent on a course for social skills

This is a lovely place and the food was amazing and really filling!! 😁. The only thing that let it down was I ordered my dessert and it took over half an hour to arrive, when it arrived it was a very small portion 😂

Was warmly welcomed when we went inside which was nice.. All the staff were so polite and friendly. We had a lovely meal which was delicious. We didnt have to wait long for the ordered food and it was served hot. We will definitely return again.

Such a beautiful place... Refurbished to a very high standard (July 24) this place is truly astonishing, impeccably clean and the staff here are extremely welcoming. The food coming from the kitchen during breakfast service was fresh and very well presented... Lots of happy diners 😋 Photos show this M and B venue in much more detail..📸 Also offering Darts, Pool table and a large free carpark. Thank you to the staff for looking after me today 👍

Lovely people, good deals... food was cooked to perfection but wasn't the best cuts of meat etc so the food supplier isn't upto scratch but the white house itself was great

I’ve been here before and had the same experience. It has just been recently refurbished so thought we would give it the benefit of doubt. Wrong. If you’re willing to wait more than an hour for less than average food that comes only lukewarm, then fine, but not what I’m willing to pay for. There are a lot better places locally, and what we’ve stuck to before giving this place the benefit of doubt. Never again and money spent better elsewhere.

Not my first visit but a first for breakfast. Went for breakfast with friends. The service was great very helpful, efficient and friendly staff. The food was piping hot and delicious. Definitely be back.

Recently refurbished big improvement pleasant good food and friendly staff.

Absolutely poor experience and we were so disappointed and upset that we didn't chose to go to another restaurant instead, Wetherspoons would have been miles better. I've worked in the Food and Catering industry and this was an awful dinner. We arrived, we have a small baby in a pushchair, to be seated in the Resturant side it is not pushchair friendly so we had to carry the pushchair up 4 steps inside. Children running around screaming knocking into the pushchair, we were worried for his safety. We waited 45 mins for food. We ordered a mixed grill and beef rib with steak, it came out on a sizzling plate which burnt absolutely all the food. All the onion rings, bottom of steak, bottom of all the meat, mushrooms and tomatoes were completely black at the bottom and burnt because of the extremely hot plate. Smoke went all over the pram we had to move our 2 month old baby and cover the pram with the cover. Everything taste burnt, it was awful. The steak and all the meats were burnt and tasteless. The steaks were burnt on the outside and then overcooked and not the way we ordered (medium rare) We had to ask for plates as the sizzling plate were burning Everything and we wanted to take all the food off as soon as possible. We couldn't find a waiter to speak to, he was messing up a few of the orders around us so seemed very stressed and unorganised. Really disappointed and let down, this was our first evening out after having a child and it was ruined. We did not bother with dessert.

Very busy night tuesday 13th only 3 staff to run bar and food having been a manager of pubs my self i felt their pain they were amazing being told 20 mins wait after 40 mins i asked about food was told its gonna be about another few minutes . I know what chefs are like telling waiting staff 15 min waits which means more like 25.the 3 staff onduty were very professional in there approach and would highly praise them

The White House had just had a refurbishment, and it was very nicely decorated and modern. The service and food was excellent and the price was very good too. We shall be returning very soon.

Went back after the refurb, food still as good, been for a lunch had salmon,it was wonderful, we went for a breakfast as it's now open from 9 :00 for breakfast,we had a classic full English,really nice well cooked good value for money. We will definitely be back soon

Today my two children (8 & 6), partner and I had lunch here at The White House. The service was outstanding by Emma! Such a helpful, friendly and down to earth member of staff! Surely Assistant Manager material! She certainly knew her stuff! Helped me use the pub app there and showed me the different deals on offer! She brought colouring sheets for the kids and beer mats etc…. The other staff members were all very friendly too. The children’s food however, was a little over done but my ‘surf n turf’ & fries were very good. The deserts great too! Generous portions. Thank you Emma again for your professionalism and welcoming us. A very nicely decorated venue, clean and bright.
