St. Matthew's Hall in Walsall

Lovely old courthouse. Great atmosphere and great service. Not what I would expect to find in Walsall town centre. Another great drink in another great spoons

It’s a Wetherspoons in the heart of Walsall nice pub warm and welcoming, great bar staff ample seating for eating has a good outside area for the summer, looks like it has a good lot of friendly regulars, good atmosphere..I have no problem coming here again

Food was great and fresh, service was quick and friendly. Cleanliness wasn't amazing but it is a busy pub, it got quite loud late in the evening but it wasn't always that way. Stairs to the toilets are dodgy especially after a few pints and the accessible toilet was a bombsight, unfortunately due to the people abusing it's location close to the bar.

The worse beer I've ever had ever

It's our local Wetherspoons. Know people to socialize with and have a drink at a very good price.

It's your average spoons quite tricky to navigate if you are disabled and use mobility aids although there is a small lift for wheelchairs the spaces between the tables both indoors and in the beer garden make avoiding collisions with chairs impossible

I did not eat there, a good Spoons and it was quieter than I expected. A couple of more ales on tap would have been better.

Popped in for lunch after a days shopping, the service & food was excellent my only problem was that on the next table was a mother & her 2 boys were one was playing on a tablet the volume was very loud which spoilt the experience of enjoying my meal ...... maybe it would be a good idea to have a children's area so other people can enjoy their meal

Visited couple times .... for lunch and breakfast is wetherspoons after all peeps polite cater for kids ... mind you need a pee ya stuffed climb a mountain stairs very steep... do have ground floor disabled loo

Nice pub with a front and back entrance, middle of walsall, friendly staff. Toilets all the way up stairs though.

Always looks tired and run down but breakfast ok and they had the Fresh fruit on

I think we picked the wrong day here, the service was ok but the food was awfull. I had a jacket potato and chillie con carne, it tasted stale and the salad was a few days old.tasted awfull and for that reason I wouldn't go again.

Always here for a breakfast. Price is decent of course, keeps me coming back. Food quality is great, coffee machine always works. Place is spacious, clean and quiet. Nothing I can complain about, please keep up the work team!🫶🏻

A real mix of people in here, and busy. Food was good considering how cheap it was and how extensive the menu was. Fast service. The toilets are up a flight of very steep and winding stairs.

The stunning facade must be up there amongst the top in the Spoons estate. Limited choice of guest cask this Monday lunchtime but what there is is 👌🏼.

Working class pub. Lots of dishes to choose from on the menu and free fill ups. Staff are nice and polite. Everyone gets on with each other. However, there are always security men outside the doors if there's trouble.

Can get rather busy and rather noisy in the evenings. Not enuf staff to cope at times. But you gets what you pay prices are some of the cheapest Wetherspoon

This is my absolute go-to breakfast at the spoons, and without doubt, I prefer it here to the showmans in Bloxwich. Like I said previously, the food at the showman is what it is on the day. Staff are friendly, especially Jody. It always appears to have a pleasant atmosphere, but that may be because of the time of day we go. I don't really go in to drink. It's usually just to eat and have a brew with my family. It's clean and tidy, which is always good, and it's just simple dining with a relatively quick service. And to be honest, you can't really grumble when you can refill your hot drinks as many times as you like.

Excellent Wetherspoons in a well restored historic building. Be careful on the steps to the loos very steep and narrow with a couple of awkwards twists. Easy to miss the large interesting back room set out out like a library.

Popped in on my way to the bus station. Just had a cappuccino, good coffee amazing price. Will have to pop back for a breakfast soon.

It's a very busy place and service can take a while to get orders for food. Food is very nice and hot.

After going into Walsall for some reason I decided I fancied a quick pint and popped into this place and ordered a pint of Stout Brummie. A nice smooth beer. I didn't order any food but Weatherspoons are known for good food. Highly Recommend

Sadly a bit rough, staff doing thier best. Quick and friendly service, but a brawl broke out at the bar, "Dodge City" style! Was delt with quickly, but no one batted an eyelid, which confirmed in my mind, was rather rough, and not an unusual experience. Good luck!

Saturday 20th April 2024 This weatherspoons was visited today It's a great building exterior and interior The drinking areas inside are clean well looked after We sat in the great beer garden today. Pub has well organised staff and great locals, one of the best weatherspoons I've drank there great range of real ales in for some time well done all involved

Came here for the first time in over 4 years. And what an improvement. better management, better service, food was a great snack, drinks very value for money, great drink up with my wife. and we both loved talking with the locals. love the history of the st matthews building. beautiful building

The staff are really friendly haven't had food there but on the good place to pop in and have a few drinks

Decent food and drink quality, prices are a little high but it has a good environment, unfortunately the customers can be quite rowdy on the night.

I have to try new places for my traditional behaviour to get English breakfast 🍳 and this time I have changed my traditional place from oldbury to Walsall. Standard of quality of English breakfast doesn’t change much. Well we all know is the pend of chefs. The recipe can slightly change the taste. First impressions I have when I walked in was. WOOOOOOW.

A nice pub situated in a historic grade II listed building. Built in 1830-1 in the Greek Doric style. It has a pleasant seating area outside and plenty of space inside. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit if in Walsall

Went for breakfast was the pub had been closed for a refurb so wanted to see changes made. The answer was no apart from better lights and a lick of paint. Very disappointed as thought toilets where being moved downstairs. Food was good and service quick

My first time visiting since it changed from The Old Court House to Wetherspoons. It was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and The Guinness was spot on, cold, tasty and only £3👌

Avoid if you think you are going for a nice quiet drink. Place is full of people who seem incapable of talking to each other at a reasonable level , constant arguments and bad language. Children running round screaming their heads off, groups of school kids sat in the outside area usually with no food or their own food and drinks. Customers who can't be bothered to walk to the bar getting preference (because they use a phone app.). over customers. actually queueing at the bar. People even walk in off the street and get coffee in any cup they happen to have !!! Seriously needs issues sorted by someone..

Manager is a legend here cus he only employes fit waitress's 😂

Cracking sirloin steak cooked really well. Well presented and on a hot plate. Friendly service at the bar. We’ll be back.
