Service excellent , food hot and O.K. Car park very dangerous with large holes, Marstons need to repair urgently before someone falls and claims compensation.

We ordered our food at 5.50pm. The girl who took our order then started chatting to a lady sat near to us. She was talking for at least 10min.We waited till 6.30pm then my husband asked the girl how much longer our meal would be. She said she had FORGOT to order our meal. !!!!!.She had been talking to customers & not doing her job. It was a disgrace, she needs to be trained. We will not be going back to the Cock of Tupsley.

We visited for both our sons birthdays in September and October. One for a busy lunch on a Saturday and one on a quiet Monday evening. Both were amazing! Staff were friendly, efficient, fun and accommodating to our big family, The burgers are AMAZING! In my opinion, better than any burger competition in Hereford. They are full of flavour, textures and not greasy! We loved the different options for fries. The cheese fries and the sweet potatoes being a favourite! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this place. Our kids also love the playground onsite. Its a lot more exciting than your average pub garden!

Don't often write reviews but absolutely had to after our meal this evening. Food was lovely but the service was absolutely incredible. Thank you Louis for probably being the nicest, most polite, friendly waiter we have ever come across.

We came here as a family and had a lovely experience, the staff, especially Kaan, Ethan, Meg, Ollie, Hildi as well as Kim and Cait the chefs were so professional and welcoming. The food was delicious, two ultimate spicy beefburgers,onion rings and a cheddar leek and potato pie.

Another committee meeting with dinner last night and as always the food was excellent and the service superb. We are always welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The duty manager Joe was so accommodating and friendly.

Had a lovely meal with a wonderful waitress called Emma. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She explained there was a short wait time to be served which other places don’t bother to do. She was happy and polite thought out our stay which helped provide a most memorable experience. Would definitely eat there again and recommend to friends

Very busy with the 30% off voucher. We were seated quickly and served by Andrew. We were advised there would be a wait as it was so busy which was fine as the weather was lovely so we sat in the garden while we waited. Food came out in approx 40 mins but it was hot and delicious. My tip is to book during offer periods and prepare for a wait but with the food being excellent for a pub chain it was worth it.

What a great place to eat, we had a lovely experience and the staff ( Especially Kaan, our food runner) were so kind and professional. I would highly recommend you visit if you are in Hereford.

I was visiting family and have an imminent birthday. My brother and sister suggested the Cock of Tupsley. I have not been to this pub since the early 1980’s, it has undergone major changes and refurbishments over the years.We were greeted by Steve, waited on by Jayde and Sam cooked our lunch. In short the food was very good, the pub was very clean and the customer service, just great!It really makes you feel welcome to be greeted with a smile and looked after by people who enjoy their jobs.Please go and try this establishment for yourself.

Came for food with family, staff very polite, very enthusiastic. Sat outside, benches and tables were old and rickety, toilets were awful, tap running continuously, flushes not working, terrible. Food came and what a disappointment, hardly any on the plate, children's food was a disgrace, very very disappointed.Would I eat her a again, no, would I drink again, not sure, I would rather go down the Rose and Crown, where its clean, fresh and the food is amazing.Such a shame!!!!!!!

Oh dear where do I start. Well after hearing good things I decided to try it once more time. Oh dear wish I had not bothered as it was dire. Buy one get one free I don't think so as its around 15.00 a meal. For frozen reheated food. Nothing is actually made from scratch. Well I know its a chain and they use frozen food for a quick turn over but it was horrible. The servers were very pleasant and helpful that's why a gave two marks. But would not be in any hurry to return.

What can I say......awful! Scampi wasn’t cooked or even teased with a slight fry, mushy peas had not been mushed and no frills burger “no s**t” no burger sauce. Never again end a real shame as our local and come frequently! No gesture of goodwill at all.

Ordered the vegan burger below for £15+95p for a slice of cold cheese added on when returned to the kitchen-I have had better food at McDonald's. When I asked if the staff would pay 15.00 for the meal I got "it's swings and rounds abouts as its 2for1" which does not really make it 2 for 1 at all. I would not of paid a £5 for either of the meals served! Disgusting!Please note the gammon meal was like a piece of dried leather.

This place has massively pulled its socks up since cov happened, the staff were so friendly especially the male with the amazing hair ( we didn’t have your name). I love what you’ve done with the garden and how friendly the staff are. This is a scary time and you made us feel so welcome including the male who seated us on Saturday on the bank holiday during late lunch. Credit is due we loved it. Defiantly be back with the children finally a little normality.

We called in on the way home from a shopping trip and had a lovely meal. Our host, Natalie, was extremely helpful but not over attentive. Very enjoyable evening, thank you.

Very nice manager and staff. Well priced and good food and drink. Did have some bad press from a disgruntled ex chef who got the boot but I’m certain none of this would of been true. We have never had a bad experience here.

Living locally have been to the Cock of Tupsley many times. Today’s visit was not a good experience. Whilst I know there has had to be a lot of changes due to Covid the high rise in the price of meals is not justified. Standard of food has dropped as has the service where we were made to feel very uncomfortable when a waitress messed up our dessert order and argued that it was our fault!The Ladies toilets were a disgrace - two blocked with paper - not pleasant.

6 of us stopped for dinner as we were staying in the area. Overcooked dry packet burgers, cold chips, overboiled corn on the cob and basically a flavourless meal. Staff were brilliant so I can't fault the service but I really wouldn't recommend here for food.

Awful meal and service. Also to be greeted by “security” at the entrance due to school parking was a bit over the top, where’s the community spirit. Remember some of these people may decide to not visit or worst there will be an accident.

We chose to visit here because we were in the area. Parts of the meal were lovely and piping hot but the chips looked liked they were value chips from a supermarket they were cold and pale no colour to them. The waitress was friendly and attentive and very polite.You ring to book a table and they put you down for the wrong day. Wish we had changed our minds when they didn't have us booked for the right day.

Have become somewhat of a regular here. Food improves with every visit. Great play area for the kids. COVID plans in place (staff not always on hand to enforce everything eg which doors to use but come on people take some responsibility for yourselves and try and read signage!) Staff are absolutely second to none

Visited without booking and they were able to seat us immediately, very helpful staff and very good and safe covid measures implemented. Have eaten here many times before and once again, served very high standard of food. Would recommend to anybody in the area or passing, lovely food and lovely staff.

We were staying in a holiday let a mile down the road and decided to have a few days away after the COVID19 situation. This was our nearest eating place and being 2 for 1 was a bonus. I was really impressed by the layout inside and all the safety measures put in place but also that the food and drinks are put on the table next to you to collect. It wasn't particular busy early evening but quality of the food was lovely. I was most impressed by the service fromm all the staff who were all really friendly and talkative and I would not hesitate in returning again when back in the area. It was a lovely experience thank you.

27/07/20I came here with an old pal. I knew the “ cock “ was a lovely pub. But what we were greeted with was just magnificent. Lovely and warm welcoming, the manager came over to take our order “ Natalie” I think her name was. She had a lovely smile, good sense of humour and made us feel really welcome. Steak and gammon I had, and it was very succulent, and moist. Overall, the meal was absolutely delicious, staff were wonderful and the strongbow was ice cold and full of life! Highly recommend.

We couldn’t wait to revisit post lockdown! So day 2 of them being open we booked a table on line. The staff have always been so accommodating in the past and nothing has changed. We were talked through the new safety measures in place and enjoyed every bite of our meals. Well done to this fab team! Can’t wait to eat here again regularly

A group of 5 of us went for lunch, quickly seated in a somewhat cramped area of the pub (no spaces between our chairs and the table next to us and their chairs)Took maybe 15 minutes to get our order taken, and drinks to the table. Was quite disappointed as many items unavailable on the menu, such as steaks, mixed grill and onion rings.The food was definitely good value for money, just a shame not all menu choices were available.

Because my job involves taking people out for lunch regularly in different towns, I decided to visit as many Marstons pub/restaurants as I can find across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire. Although I've lived in Herefordshire for 30 years, I first visited The Cock of Tupsley for the first time only two weeks ago ! The fact that I have been twice since (and I'm going again tomorrow) probably tells you how this review is going to go. Each of the Marston's pubs seems to have it's own identity, ie individual offers/specials rather than be stamped with some corporate uniformity, and none that I have visited have got it better than The Cock. A clean and tidy environment which gets the pub/restaurant balance spot- on, genuinely polite and welcoming staff( special mention to Natalie, is clearly in her element making people feel welcomed) a standard Marston's menu, inc great offers, and an outstanding variety of choice on the Specials Board- excellent quality on a buy-one-get-one-free deal. On my visit yesterday two of us enjoyed very, very, good meals for £13.00. If you are in Hereford, forget the Town Centre with it's congestion and it's parking charges. The Cock of Tupsley is 3 minutes out of town and far,far better than any pub/restaurant in town.

Had two beautiful succulent charcoal grilled 10 oz rump steaks, onion rings, grilled tomatoes. peas and chips with a bottle of Hardy's wine for £20.00 , Quick and very friendly service as always. Recently redecorated. Nice atmosphere. Can not fault anything. The outside front area has been refurbished with heating, great for smokers or vapers. Will make this our regular again

It was my nieces birthday last night and it was the perfect offer buy one get one free for an even amount of people as it’s a bit pricey otherwise. My brother in law to my horror was served up a raw gammon steak!!!!! But they couldn’t offer him his money back as they said his was being deemed the free one!!!! The place has gone down hill on the cleanliness too so I or my family won’t be returning there! Shame on you cock of Tupsley and we are a big family to loose even if we did only visit at birthdays and Christmas’s

I’m absolutely disgusted in this pub! We went for for my daughter in laws birthday meal last night and was served ‘raw gammon’. The waiter was lovely & very apologetic .. he even said ‘that’s terrible’!! The replacement meal came out after we had all been finished our meals for a good 10 mins! My partner didn’t really want to eat on his own so just had a few mouthfuls and left it! As the meals are buy one get one free they offered to take the ‘free meal’ off the bill for the inconvenience!! Meaning our bill was exactly the same as it was before!!! The manager on shift ‘Andrew’ wouldn’t even come and explain his reasons for this and just kept saying there was no more he could do!! Absolutely disgusting service!! Needless to say none of our family will ever return to this place again!! SHAME ON YOU ANDREW (the manager)

Good pub food, a warm friendly environment, plenty of parking. Highly recommend for families in the summer as there is a large play area and plenty of outdoor seating.

I'd say this was 'nice' nothin too scream about. Food is your average marstons pub grub. But its 2 for 1 on selected items.Place was tired when we went in November but i saw they had a refit in dec so we are yet to go back to take a look. Staff where a little slow and we waited ages for our food and it wasnt even busy. Will try again to see if it has imroved.

The manager Adam [-] was so rude. We are a group of 15 people who have been meeting up here for the last 2 years. We have never been spoken to like we have been today it was disappointing as the other staff are so friendly

Visited today 22/12/19.. bar service excellent . Food service,& food in general not up too the high standards of previous visits. Fries were lukewarm,veg was cold (frozen),didn’t come out at same time. Desserts... waited 10 minutes,had too get someone too see where they were,2 came out five minutes later,other 2 arrived half way through!.. pub was not overly busy,so no excuse.... very poor

Unplanned meal out during half term. Every member of staff polite, helpful and friendly. Georgia in particular took time to ensure children had a meal they enjoyed suggesting alternative sides and more than happy to take time with the order. Food arrived in good time, well presented and tasty.

This used to be a raelly good pub, but our last 2 visits have been have been awful - will not be going back. 4 people had fish and chips yesterday all of our fish were a dirty brown colour and overcooked - chips and peas were luke warm. Staff not interested in the dreadful quality but did "apologise".

Went for lunch with my mum and sisters and received a lovely service. The food was really nice and the waitress Natalie was very friendly. She made the effort to take an interest in my 11 week old baby.We had a sharing platter and she bought us all individual plates, which a lot of places don’t think to do, she was very attentive without being overbearing and was very helpful at the end when we decided we wanted to book a meal for Boxing Day. Lovely cosy place to relax and enjoy a good meal.

Very rude service..no veg left hardly any food left waitress was not interested in compromising or swapping.poor attitude not helpful at all.

Attended here with my partner for an evening meal on Friday 18th October. We were served by a lovely waitress called Natalie and the food was punctual and delicious. Great selection of vegetarian food. Cooked by a great chef- Josh Day. Very impressed.

We had a great experience here. The waiter was excellent and very friendly and helpful. They split the bill into separate ones without any problems. The food was really good, had the cone of onion rings and popcorn chicken and they are the best onion rings I have ever had. Had chicken and ribs and they swapped my sides with ones I like and it was delicious, the ribs in particular were amazing, my husband had the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Finished of with chocolate fudge cake and banoffee pie both of which were great. Everything was well cooked, hot and really good size portions. Excellent value for money too. Can't wait to go back.

Has this changed managers again, we went on Wednesday evening in a group of 6, two ordered Lasagne one was stone cold in the centre, sent it back and they re- heated it in the microwave. Two ordered a Curry very runny and had only 6 small pieces of chicken in, supposed to come with a naan bread and actually came with one cut in half, so ended up with one between two people. The quality has gone down which is really sad as the last time we went there the food was really good. Sorry will not be going there again when there is so much choice in Hereford.

The service that we received today from your waitress Georgia was brilliant! She was attentive and explained the menus to us clearly, making sure that we knew about all of the offers that were available. Working in the hospitality industry myself, this is exactly the kind of service I would hope to provide to a customer!

Waitress was very good and pleasant but sadly the food did not match. My wife had the lamb chops which she said were nice but the potatoes were not cooked. I had the liver, bacon and onions and I have to say that the liver was gritty and tasteless, bacon appeared to be shavings off a ham bone sprinkled on top not slices of bacon as expected. The chips I chose instead of the mash were equally poor, perhaps a better choice of potatoes would help.. The pud made up a little but overall very disappointing. I have been there before and enjoyed good food and will go again. I also think that a bit of a makeover would improve the appearance of the area both inside and out. Pity about the wicker horse.

We were very hungry so ordered 2 of the Mega meals, just £2.99 more than standard meals, there was just too much food for me! Very tasty though and extremely good value!

We went here because there was a children’s play area and they do food. It was busy and we ordered, the guy behind the bar obviously didn’t want to be there he didn’t crack a smile once! Once food ordered went outside and waited and waited and waited! Admittedly we ordered separately and the brownie and ice cream came and it was cremated in the microwave, it was rock hard, sent that back. Another meal came then half an hour later we went in to ask where the rest was and the owner snapped my friends head off and said we should have told home we were still waiting...... ummmm that’s what we were doing. Food was very mediocre waitress was lovely, bit of a mix up with some ice cream she tried to sort out but in the end we told her not to bother. Will not be going there again. I know it was busy but come on you should know what a Saturday lunchtime is like and organise staff accordingly.

After a wait for food and the order not being right, sent my daughter's back to have cheese put on the burger which was originally asked for. When it came back was noticed when putting ketchup on that there were 2 long black curly hairs stuck in the cheese!! Not wanting to make a scene but both totally put off and not wanting to eat the food, told the waitress who brought the Manager over. Was informed that staff wear hair nets but this isn't the first time and has happened before!! Offered a different meal but were both nauseous at this point and did not want to eat anything from there. Such a shame as it's a good menu and they seem to have a good service team. The waitresses we saw were both attentive and polite. Needs a good general clean up and be more vigilant with food hygiene. Sadly a big thumbs down from us

All food was awful. My burger and chips was totaly dried up. The chips had been warmed up several times, for sure. Finaly my wife's chicken was totaly dry... I'm not planning to visit the place again, thats for sure...

Booked online, arrived & were quickly shown to our table. Ordered straight away 2 Steaks & bottle of red wine (£20) plus starters & puddings. Food good value, honest pub grub. Waitress was lovely (sorry didn't get her name) all staff were a credit to their Manager. Remembered Steve (waiter) from previous visit who was very thoughtful on that occasion. Atmosphere happy & friendly, Thanks to all who helped make it an enjoyable evening. We will certainly be returning soon!

Lovely Friday night meal with my Fiancee. The Gammon and Rump was lovely. The steak was delicious, cooked perfectly rare.

Visited whilst on holiday in the area - it was suggested by the barman at The Tarrington Arms which doesn't now offer food and what a brilliant piece of advice.

Nice little place friendly staff, food is good and great for a 2for1 if you have to watch the pennies, not bad for Sunday lunch either.

I have been going to the cock for years but on Wednesday took my family. Well won't be going again we have always had a good meal & good value, but the food was awful the fish and chips was dried up the chips seems as though they had been warmed up, the chicken was dry and tough, there was no garnish very very poor. Also the service was not good and the meals did not come together. A good clean up outside would be good also.

I have used the cock of tupsley on many occasions and never had an issue, but when visiting to day it was brought to my attention how untidy the garden area and children’s play area was. Broken plastic and rubbish in the play area and generally looking weathered and rubbish food and cigarette ends littered the grass area. I appreciate it is busy in the summer months, but feel there may be time in the morning to tidy this area before the public arrives.

Came here a couple of weeks ago for a quick bite to eat after being away for the day, and it was great choice for menu and it was also buy one get one free. Great food and great service.

We have been many times, but today sadly was an experience that wasn’t very good. Always a nice environment and impressive menu. I ordered a special for £17:95. Wanted my steak medium, but was well done as tough as old boots. When the young waitress asked if all ok, I had a mouthful so couldn’t say anything. When I mentioned it when plates were cleared she said I should of said something when she asked. Payment was a problem issue too. The lad on the bar was nice, but manageress got him to relay the apology.

The venue was extremely busy when we arrived on a beautiful sunny evening. On entering we were greeted by a lovely waitress who seated us where we wished. The service was impeccable, The food was excellent and much better than I was expecting.

Food was very good and the atmosphere was very nice. What I most liked about the Restaurant was how obliging and helpful Andrew was, it is rare that you come across such nice staff and credit is defiantly due to this individual as he obviously cares about the restaurant. Highly recommended.

We have now visited The cock on several occasions and we are very impressed with the consistently excellent friendly helpful service . Nothing is to much trouble and they always manage to find us a quiet area to manage our baby twins . The food is excellent value for money always hot and very tasty .

On the outskirts of the city of Hereford, they offer real value for money and great offers of two meals for the price of one.With these sorts of offers, the choice is normally limited but in this case, there's a wonderfully wide and varied choice of dishes to choose from and without a doubt something to suit everyone's taste. Coupled with this is excellent service and really good Banks' bitter. Excellent value for money!

We visited today for a family meal to celebrate Fathers Day what a disappointment !!!! Cold and burnt food including frozen Yorkshire pudding. No cutlery or serviettes despite asking twice for them. The person asked to remedy this was in fact the manager. He was completely unhelpful, uncooperative and downright rude. In fairness the junior staff were excellent in their attempts to try and provide a good service despite the deplorable example of the manager. As well as his diabolical attitude his appearance was totally unacceptable not to say downright scruffy !!!! Needless to say we shall not be returning as long as he remains !!!!!

As a recent newcomer to the Tupsley area of Hereford this is about close enough to be called my local.

You always have a sense of dread when you walk into a chain pub but the cock of tupsley surely chained my opinion on them. We arrived as a table for 9 not having booked and we expected a long wait being sat , we were sat with drinks within 10 minutes. Service was fantastic and so was the food my ribeye was one of the best steaks I've had in years.All in all a fantastic meal and family party and when the bill came just added to the smiles. Keep up the good work.

We arrived and were seated quickly and a waiter came and took our drinks order which arrived quickly , however it went down hill from here. After 20 minutes of waiting I had to go and find a waiter and ask them to come and take our order .the starters arrived cheesy nachos with no cheese and prawn cocktails with no bread. This was corrected and the manager did come and apologize. Then came the main there was food missing off plates , mixed grill over cooked to the point it was inedible. rare steaks instead of medium, no salad with one meal .this was a birthday meal which left everyone feeling disappointed. I have had lovely meals here in the past but would not go back again

Been coming here for 4 years, we have seen lots of changes and we have to say it has improved hugely and we find ourselves coming more often, due to the quality of the food, the price and the friendliness of the staff

Decided to give this place another chance, after receiving a gift voucher for the venue. A previous visit had not been a good experience, so was a little apprehensive at giving it another chance, however, so glad i did, as today's visit was much improved. A menu with plenty of choices plus daily specials, sadly they did not have my first choice of meal, but waitress was very apologetic. Meal arrived promptly & was a good sized portion & tasted good, also had a dessert which was also very nice. Will definitely return

I last ate here over a year ago for a family meal & it was very uninspiring. We went again last weekend & found a huge improvement. Very efficient service - friendly and attentive & the meal was good quality & excellent value with a wide selection of 2-1 main courses. My other bugbear over the years here has been a poor choice in ales but this has also improved now. My first choice wasn't available (!) - but, there were at least two other good options, so all in all a much improved experience now & will definitely go again.

We had a lovely meal last night the staff were very friendly and were happy for us to eat outside. The portions were good plenty for me and my husband went for the mega mixed grill and nearly finished it. There’s a great play area perfect for children.

Called into the pub for lunch after being out all morning visiting family as it was my partners birthday. Upon entering the car park we could see it was busy, then we both realised it was also bank holiday weekend.......

Went for a meal a few days ago to the cock of Tupsley with my partner and was welcomed very well by Georgia! She made sure we had what we needed, she seemed like she wasn’t there for the money, that she was actually there too help the customers, and she did. Will definitely be coming again!

Excellent meal as always and fantastic service. Georgia was superb and attentive as always, we are always lucky enough to get Georgia as our waitress and she always makes it a fantastic experience.

Georgia served us and was so helpful and happy. Our daughters have celiac disease and needed gluten free options. She talked us through all the options and the girls had a lovely dinner. There was an offer on for children eat free and the cost was very reasonable.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to treat ourselves to a night out.

Went to lunch with a friend and sat outside which was lovely our waitress was Julie who was just lovely, couldn’t be more helpful and really made us laugh. We both had the Blue Burger it was delicious, it came with chips onion rings and coleslaw. As it is buy one get one free our bill was so cheap which was a great thumbs up.

Came today 18-4-19, just as a random lunch out. We were very much welcomed into the pub by the lovely waitresses Cait and Julie.

I came in today and had two amazing 16oz rump steaks and asked the waitress to thank the chefs who she said were called sam and kyle. her name was natalie and her service was outstanding she was confident and friendly and made us feel comfortable, we will definitely be returning again.

Attended for a meal this evening with my family, we were made to feel very welcome the outside well presented with a playarea outside for little ones. We were served by a lovely lady called Georgia who was very informative about the menu and upgrades. Since i last visited they have upgraded their menus including more for vegetarians and vegans which is more accomedating. Only let down was coleslaw... Wasn't very appetizing however the rest of the food was good value for money with the 2 for 1 offer. Compliments to the chefs.

Visited the Cock of tupsley yesterday ,food is amazing think the waitresses said the chef’s was called jo and Sam , will be coming back soon
