Great pub along with a good choice on the menu, worth a visit and good value. Table service very good and always receive a friendly smile in this establishment

My burger was really nice which I've had twice , it was a double burger and that Patties were really thick and tasted amazing but I'd visited about 3 weeks earlier and had a much tastier meal, the chips on that visit were amazing , they were skin on and really tasty however they have gone back to basic pub chips which were really bland . Refillable drinks are good , lots of flavours however each time quite a few of the flavours were all gone.

Visited last night with family. Waiter Chris was helpful very efficient and friendly. I was very impressed with service. Food was very good too especially the starter and desert.

We've been to this pub 2 Saturdays running, the previous week was nothing to write home about but this weeks experience was really good. I understand that this was following a change of management. The food was on time, excellant quality, and hot. The drinks selection and quality were good but more importantly, the the service compared to the previous week was excellant. Sam, who looked after us was very good. I hope that it continues to go from strength to strength.

We went to the Hollybush last night for the first time in absolutely ages. We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable. We were attended to by Sam, the Manager who was extremely welcoming and friendly. She took our order and engaged with us which meant we felt we were valued customers. The food was served promptly and was excellent and is certainly good value for money. We can recommend the Cod & Crispy Bacon Rarebit and the Chicken, Leek and Cider pie. The whole place is clean and tidy and the staff are efficient and friendly. Thank you Sam, and we will definitely be making a return visit.

Just had dinner at the Hollybush, under new management meals are nice and hot on delivery also the portions are large well done 👍👍

its our local and we go quite often... well we did... its slowly been going downhill...on our last visit we were told there was an hour wait for food... not a problem, except the place was half empty. I ordered drinks and food, the barman didn't have a clue what he was doing... I felt sorry for the guy, what happened to his training?the starters came, eventually, but they looked like they had been under the lights for ages, skin on the sauces...eventually the meal came... it was not what I ordered... but it was something i liked, so no problem... except that it was dire... the other meal left a lot to be desired...this is pub grub, surely they can at lease get the consistency right?The whole place seems to be chaotically run.

Popped in on Saturday and both decided on the salad, my husband steak and me chicken and bacon. The steak was cold, the salad was soggy and seemed to have been prepped by a 3 year old, huge chunks of browning red onion, soggy leaves v expensive for what it was even if it had been edible!!

Came for lunch, 4 adults and a child. Only 3 adults ordered and the young child. The bar seemed very quite, no more than 30 people in, I got a little concerned when the table next to us asked where there order was. After what seemed an age our meals began to arrive, to be fair mine was ok, my wife's salad was suffering and had to be sent back, the child that was with us had to be stopped from touching the plate as it was nuclear hot on one side, the plate got sent back anyway as it was missing the peas, the lady serving asked us about a bowl of chips which no one had ordered, the 3rd adult was forgotten about. When questioned the serving staff stated the chef had forgotten it of the ticket and the meal would be no more than 10 minutes, which begged the question as to why meals were taking so long to come out of the kitchen!We did get 1 meal and the child meal comped to the staffs credit.The soft drinks were flat, and the ice was non existent. Sorry to say but probably won't return.

Just called in on the off chance for a meal. Had heard a few people say it had gone down hill abit. Only speak has we find moment we arrived staff so pleasant made our experience first class. Meals were spot on choice plenty full. Would highly recommend to all. Thanks to the staff for a lovely evening.

We were regulars in this pub.This evening the service and food was as it normally is.. BUT when the bill came it had 4 alcoholic drinks on it we didn't order. We were on soft drinks.Highly suspicious since the male waiter who seated us and took our soft drinks order also brought us the bill.Check your bill...

Visited here with family for my lads birthday . It’s wheelchair accessible and spacious inside . The food was great and once we ordered it came promptly . The steak was delicious and everybody happy with the quality and value . The only niggle was the bar only had 2 staff working on it so it took ages to get served , otherwise great thank you

I've visited a number of times and each time I go I find the standard dropping. The food isn't the quality and tastiest as it was previously. The server was friendly and attentive.

First time coming back since the refurbishment of the bar and kitchen. We opted for a 3 course meal. Mushroom soup for starter soup was lovely although not warm enough did tell the waiter this when he collected bowls and next time I saw a soup coming out steam was coming from it mixed grill for myself all cooked to how I asked and Sunday lunches for the parents. Overall the food was lovely service was a bit slower than normal but nothing to complain about unless ur pushed for time.

I can here with my family and had ana amazing time and felt very at home , service was incredible and the manager was very nice and made us feel at home and the food was incredible be sure to get a booking here ASAP !!! The waitresses were kind and jokey absolutely amazing service will definitely be back here soon

Have been here a few times before but standard has dropped. Drinks order went in as we sat down, 20 mins later I had to go to the bar and give them a reminder. Meals came out, we ordered gammon. VERY salty, ordered cheese sauce too..... no cheese taste! We did inform the staff who gave us complimentary desserts. Standard needs improvement.

TERRIBLE service and the slowest I’ve ever experienced! There were hardly any customers in the restaurant and more than enough staff to make for quicker, friendlier service! Food was below average for the wait. Will not be returning and will certainly not recommend this establishment again!!

Cannot fault the staff, food nor the setting. We had an amazing time. Food was fantastic and so filling. I will be recommending to my friends and family too.

We booked The Hollybush for a friends surprise 50h birthday celebration and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all! A lovely large area was reserved for us and staff were very accommodating for us to decorate it.

Went on a very quiet Tuesday night when it was not clear if it was open or not.

We have just celebrated our sons 18th here and I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and service they have extended us. Nothing was too much.

We went to the Hollybush pub for dinner on a Monday early evening. The food was preety average. A couple of dishes had things missing off them. I had a burger which was well overcooked. Some of the meals were ok. We had to wait over 25 minutes for the kids deserts which were just ice cream or jelly, so not the best on that front. We have had a lot better meals there previously.

Made the mistake of giving this pub the benefit of the doubt after terrible service last time. This time, we stood waiting to be served for over 15minutes, during which, different members of staff looked at us...and walked past. No apology, no ‘sorry we’ll be with you in a minute’ or any acknowledgement at all. Me and my family were just left to stand there, while 1 blonde, female staff member in particular continued to walk past us at regular intervals rolling her eyes, speaking to anyone else that came her away except for us. Left feeling extremely upset and annoyed.

Part of a large group. Tables not put together, two meals served incorrectly, and one overlooked completely. Although not charged for that one when complained.

Group of 5,drinks order wrong,one meal short,steaks cremated so changed to chicken,would have been 40 minutes for another steak,jacket potatoes burnt.Then the waiter asked was everything alright.What a joke this outing had become.Never again.5 customers lost.

Visited today for food, arrived quite late but was given a choice of seats. They didn’t have the drink that I wanted but the food made up for that. It came out hot and was full of flavour. The deserts were just as nice as the main course. Will be going back, very impressed.

Went Sunday lunchtime, ordered pub food had a booth with TV, service was nice, pie meal and steak was good. Desserts were nice and reasonably priced for pub food. Can't complain at all.

Stopped for a meal before a conference I had a Gannon cooked to perfection and my colleague had a well made and cooked pizza. Great food and friendly staff

We used to visit the hollybush regularly. Since its remake it has gone downhill, with the experience feeling a lot worse than before. I don't expect fresh handcooked everything from a chain, but the portions were poor (£3 for a side of chips which was no more than a large handful of oven chips), and the quality wasn't good. My wife ordered a lasagne with a salad, which consisted of browning lettuce and some other bits. Pointed this out to a waitress, and got no apology or anything. I always find that if noone comes to ask if everything is OK with your meal it's because they already know its not, which is a shame. Won't be rushing back.

Been here twice first time staff were rude and ignorant but we put it off as a one off. Second time We arrived at this establishment only to be completely ignored by the staff whilst we stood at reception waiting to be seated for 10-15 minutes. Staff just looked over at us and continued doing whatever they were doing not even a word of well Be with you shortly so we walked out. Full of chavs and a dump . Avoid! The recent refurb is like lipstick on a pig, pointless.

I would like to leave a review of your food and drink however we were never seated. We waited for 10 mins during which time several members of staff looked at us and carried on walking. The waitress with the blonde ponytail was exceptionally rude. She was happy to speak to 3 other customers but continued to ignore us.

First of all, the best thing about the HollyBush for me would be the atmosphere and quality of food. We came as a group of nine and was instantly sucked in by the incredible decor and friendly atmosphere. We did wait for a little longer than usual for our food. However it didn't really bother me as I knew the venue was pretty busy! They have a great menu for vegan food and I was extremely impressed by their B12 Burger and Spicy Cauliflower Wings. The service overall was OK, with the waiter understandably not getting too friendly which was also due to how busy he must have been - but he was not rude or impatient. Brilliant experience overall and would definitely visit again.

The food was lukewarm, the carrots were rock hard, potatoes under cooked and I won't mention the gravy.

We booked to go to the hollybush for Christmas dinner as a last minute decision, however what a mistake we made.

Went to the hollybush for Christmas dinner last year and we enjoyed it so we all went back this year and we wished we add not gone back as the dinner was poor for the money we payed as the dinner was cold and there was not a enough gravy on it so we will not be going back next year

Called for early tea around 5ish and was very surprised by how quiet it was and was even more surprised at being seated away from the bar area into a cold corner which we moved from.We eat off the two for £10menu and both had pie chips and peas which came with gravy.My pastry on my pie was very hard with not much filling my daughter had the chicken and leek pie which she said was ok.To be honest with you we where glad to get out and in the car for a warm.It will be along time before we return

We visited this week for grandads birthday with a group of 25 guests. We booked a table in advance and the restaurant were happy to create more spaces if required. We were all seated straight away and looked through the menu. The restaurant have a range of foods of choice and had an offer for a free pudding with every grill (we are all big meat eaters) so we were happy with this. We did wait a long time for our starters but this was expected with such a large party. All foods were what we ordered all cooked to a great standard. Oils not fault the waitress that looked after us. Would definitely recommend and will be returning!

Although we go here a fair bit, you can always guarentee the same sort of pub food, ping ping meals at its finest, best bit of it it's quick food if your in a hurry, drinks nearly as much as the food bill, but as you'd expect from a restaurant chain, food is tasty and a good price, so can't really say any other.. As I've said food for the busy customer..

This is a very nice pub with friendly staff.... but the food last night was awful.the prawn cocktail was like chewing on rubber,as for the turkey dinner...the three small roast potatoes were very good,and the little sausage tasty,however the rest was very poor ,tasteless turkey,uncooked carrots a few mediocre peas,dried out Yorkshire pud,and as for the gravy......I'm speechless!!!! The chocolate pudding and ice cream was tasteless.And expensive prosseco !!! Wouldn't ever recommend it.

I think I would rather had a mouthful of cockroaches that the Christmas dinner at the HollyBush Inn.

First time with family at the holybush and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, prices were reasonable staff were friendly and the place was nice and clean, child friendly it’s defo worth a try. 👍

My wife and I returning from a trip to Stourbridge called in at the Hollybush for some lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food abnd the attentive ness of the staff.

popped in there spontaneously for lunch with my son. ordered starter of breaded mushrooms. got plate full of over-fried bread crumb balls with barely any mushrooms found inside. impossible to stab with the fork or even bite in. left all plate full. nobody cared about our experience.

Ordered the four cheese pizza here, it was vile. It looked as though the chef had just sliced away at a block of mature cheddar cheese and piled loads of rectangular slices on top of each other, didnt even look like a pizza would normally look. Never tasted anything like it. Had two bites and took it to the bar to complain to the Manageress who I found to be argumentative and patronising, she could definately do with some customer service training. WILL NOT BE VISITING AGAIN!!

Really poor planning with regards to the kids Halloween party. Lots of disappointed children left outside and not able to get in. I had tried to book a table weeks ago, to be told it wasn't necessary and to just turn up. Clearly this was not the case. Big thumbs down from me

Often visit here on the way to a match on Saturdays. Food is always good, staff are pretty good too. Sometimes it feels more like a children's playground than a restaurant, depends what time you visit though I suspect.

Had a lovely meal there. It’s reasonably priced with friendly staff. Prefer to go when it’s a bit quieter as it can get quite loud in there with the children’s area.

We used to visit couple of times a month before the refurb, however things went downhill fast.

We had a pleasant lunch this Saturday with my fiance and her mother, the meal was very nice and the service was friendly and prompt. The pub was however very quiet while we were in there, which was a bit concerning, but there was nothing to worry about and the gammon, chicken and mustard pie was very nice even if the peas were not good.

Nice family meal. Good for kids. Ok food reasonable price. Desserts and kids menu perfect and great price.

Love it hear! I come a lot with friends and the food and desserts are always nice. It’s a friendly atmosphere and staff are great!

Went mid afternoon in the week, Friendly greeting , good menu decent prices for meals a bit more expensive for drinks, we had the vegetarian Jalfrezi which came with Rice poppadom and a nan bread so good value there lovely jalfrezi will be back again , plenty of parking plenty of room inside and its sort of divided but not claustrophobic ,

Had a lovely meal, decided on spec to eat out. Well priced. Staff are smiley and friendly. Nice seating area outside.

We wondered where we could go for Sunday Lunch (12 August) so the Wife searched the local "eateries" and came up with this establishment as it had had a few good reviews. We had the 2 Roasts for £12 and added the cauliflower cheese which we were asked "would you like to order" by our server, and was a little disappointed as it was more cheese than the vegetable itself which consisted of very small pieces.

14 of us went for early afternoon dinner and drinks after a wedding the day before . We chose various meals but we were all satisfied with the meals , drinks and service . No complaints .

Myself, and my family which included my 2yr old grand daughter attended the pub today for lunch we arrived and the lady at the front of house told us where our table was followed by you will be finished by 6.30 as the table is rebooked for another party great first impression, ordered food waited an hour and the pub wasn't too full, my daughter in law took my granddaughter into the baby changing facility (key access only) the floor was dirty the nappy bin was full and smelt really bad of poo in the nappy bin we informed the staff who did nothing to rectify it. Floors dirty cutlery still got food from previous serving on a fork and knife, my granddaughter wanted ice cream from ice cream factory and was given a dirty dish try to get it changed and got a deep sigh from the young lad working there ( So all in all wonderful experience ) costing £67

As always, service was polite and quick. Food fresh and delicious. Always enjoy when we eat here. Can't fault the place. Lovely atmosphere, just very quiet due to lovely sunny weather.

Came here on spur of the moment as me & my husband used to live closer & used to come nearly every week. When we arrived we looked at the menu & realised it wasn’t 2 for 1 anymore and menu was totally different. Anyway we ordered our food a rump steak & a tikka masala, when the food came I was pleasantly surprised as quite large portions my husband polished his steak off & said it was the best steak he had had in a while even better than Miller & Carter. The tikka masala however I wouldn’t recommend as it was very bland & had no taste to it I was surprised as I’ve had this here before & it was ok. All in all I have given it a 3 star rating for the service & the steak.

Did not book as last minute decision to try the Hollybush, on arrival we were shown to our table by friendly person, after waiting a few minutes staff came to take our drinks order after about 10 minutes had to ask where drinks order was, apparently had not received it at bar. The three of use decided to have starters and main course, all meals arrived at decent times. Each meal was presented well and was enjoyed by all. Could not fault the food just the drinks service, which is probably a little petty, but overall staff were apologetic.

Visited tonight with family, been using this marstons pub for meals for several years and have always had good meals at value cost down to be a 2 for 1 place

This used to be the best pub in the area. The two for one menu was really good value & they had a wide selection.

Pleasant family pub with lovely surroundings and gardens staff are quite friendly and the prices reasonable.

We phoned at short notice for a table of 8 and we're accommodated very well and with no fuss which was great. Unfortunately that was the best bit of the experience. We were celebrating two family birthdays so it was a special occasion. A confusing start as we were sat for quite a while and no one came to the table so we assumed it was bar service just as we were about to go up someone came over. The children's sausages and burger were dry and burnt, the beans had a skin. The shawarma pizza was meant to come with shredded roast chicken, kebab meat, chickpeas and rocket, none of these were on the pizza instead there were three lumps of watery curried chicken on the pizza, when we bought it up they said the kebab meat is blended in the sauce, however I also had a pizza and the sauce on both tasted exactly the same, and who blends kebab meat, plus it doesn't say anywhere in the description on the menu it's blended into the sauce, I believe this was a cover up. The whole pizza tasted completely bland even the few chilli's on top tasted of nothing and there wasn't a rocket leaf in sight. The chicken stack was a dry, unseasoned, sauceless plate of chicken, the buttermilk chicken was just fried chicken the same as we had in a starter. The children's brownie was so dry the boys didn't finish it (which is insane as they've never tuned down anything chocolate in their life) when we bought up the pizza we were offered another meal but it was too late at this point and our guest was put off the food, they did take it off the bill as she hadn't eaten any but only after we indicated that this was the fair resolution. Waitress and service was very lack lustre and the manager never came to see the table and apologise for the dissapointment. Overall it ruined a special occaision and the food was really tasteless and a poor effort. We wish we hadn't given it a try and wouldn't return. The children enjoyed the play area though and the interior is clean and nice.

Came here today with a couple of friends. The inside looks really nice but the food is vile I had a burger and the bun was burnt black and the chips was burnt too. Don’t even get me started on the staff, they are all young teenagers working there and you get asked every minute by the same people “have you ordered?” “How’s your good?” “Have you had any drinks?” Obviously it’s nice of them to ask but if it’s every few minutes it gets very annoying. Will not be returning. If you like burnt food this is your place.

We visited here to have lunch. We were shown to a table that was quickly pulled together to accommodate our party of five. The waiter took our drinks order which was quickly brought over even though the pub was pretty full. We ordered our food with a few changes to how it was displayed on the menu. When the food was brought out one of the plates had different vegetables to what had been ordered, straight away the waitress said she would sort it. No rolling of the eyes or body language to say we were causing her more work. Both the waiter Charlie and waitress Lily were excellent and were so polite and bent over backwards to make our visit fantastic! The food was great, hot and full of flavour! We'll be back.

We visited for food and drink. It was reasonably priced and tasty. Service was very good. There isn't much of an ale selection which my boyfriend was a bit disappointed at. However we had a good night and we'll be back!

The side doors (that you HAVE to pass from the carpark, this is a destination pub too) were locked and when I asked if they could be open, I got "no, we only open them when it's hot". The whole reason we went there was to enjoy a drink and something to eat in the sun. But we couldn't as the only seating easily accessible was the on the main road, a busy road. So we're forced to sit inside because the staff are too lazy to open the side doors. The real dumb thing about this is that these are the doors onto the beer garden and you have to pass them to get to the main entrance anyway! Seriously dumb.

Popped in after shopping for a meal. The restaurant side was full so we sat round the other side. It was so cold we didn't take our coats off. After asking a member of staff we were told the heating was on automatic so we changed seats and turned the 'automatic' radiator on ourselves! We waited for a good 40 minutes for food and when it arrived the chicken was warm and very dry. We won't be returning to or recommending this pub.

This was our first visit to the Holly Bush Inn and I must say that its a lovely looking, very smart family pub. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly young lady who promptly showed us to our table. At the bar I ordered drinks but was refused a beer for my son although he is almost 20 years old. The barman who was a quite miserable said he needed to see his I.D even though I pointed out that I am the one making the purchase and that he is 19 years old.

Won’t be returning anymore been going there for years , no wonder we got a table and a parking space so easily.. Beef Sunday dinner was the sort of beef you get from Aldi to put on your sarnies for work on Monday..Plus it works out expensive as the 2 or 1 has stopped .. I don’t mind paying for good food if it’s good..!! gonna go to the Round Oak in Wombourne not 2 for 1 but great quality food.. try it folks you won’t be disappointed..

We did go there on a regular basis and have had many good meals there but after tonight we will not be going back because on entering the pub we were told it was going to be 40 minutes till we could get a table then when we did eventually sit down and ordered our meals it was another hour before we got our food also the food was terrible. My wife had the ribeye steak and it was all grisle asked for the steak to be medium but it came out well done. I had the mixed grill which I asked for medium and that was well done as well. They have also stopped doing the two for one menu so you are paying double the price for crap food. All in all I will not be going back and will certainly not be recomending to family and friends .

Date night with my hubby. Starters of prawn cocktail and pate... birth were nice. Mixed grill MR and chilli salmon. steak over cooked sides forgotten. Broccoli with salmon soggy and salmon burnt on the bottom. Waitresses tried to put things right by going to the kitchen for our sides but we had finished by the time they came.won't be recommending or eating here again. will just stick to having a drink.

Haven't been here for years but was a suitable location for 8 of us to meet so thought we'd give it a go! It has been done out since the last time we went and is much improved! Expected to have to order at the bar but we had waiter service which was nice. There were a couple of things on the menu (typically the one i wanted) that they didnt have but we were told this is because the menu is about to change. I am always wary of having steak in a 'pub' as you tend to get what you pay for so it was a risk but too good to miss the Thursday deal of '2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £20'. I must say i was really impressed! All the food came out at the same time and was hot and well presented. The steak was really nice and cooked how i like it, i had mine with jacket pot and it came with a little pie with a bit of peppercorn sauce in it which i have never had anywhere else before. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too - a couple had cajun salmon, fish and chips, chicken and the veg curry (this was the poorest meal, it was a lot of sauce and not much veg). Staff were friendly and service was quick. Toilets aren't very nice they could do with being done up but apart from that we were pleasantly surprised, thankyou :-)

staff are nice and friendly, food was amazing but has a few downfalls. the menu is very confusing and is not clear.they forgot my dessert but it was very busy. i asked for a straw and they had none but its not a big problem , for me its a little pricey but you get what u pay for great food.. i loved the arcade and play area for kids

40 minute wait for table then 40minute wait for food. Starter Arrived burnt to high heveab!!! We had no no steak knifes no condiments salt vinegar offered had to go find it myself.mains Steak was so chewy gave myself jaw ache and my child nearly chocked on it..... my friends nachos were dry sent ha k k to get a colder version back! Waitress took it off bill but over all was vile cold chewy and waste money time and energy. Would not eat here again avoid avoid avoid!!!!!!!!!!! Got home all had dodgy tummies too

Granted its 2 for 1 but if I ordered a burger not on the deal id be paying 15quid for summat that was the cheapest burger Ive had in a long time. The meat was vile like the sort youd pay 1quid and get 10 burgers in the freezer shop. The chicken on the burger was nice but calling the beef part 'steak' burger and serving takes the mick a bit. Wont be returning!

Not even busy, staff are very slow. Kids play area is good, but it’s tucked away so you can’t see the children play. The food was microwaved and stodgy and we waited forever for it to arrive. It’s never been good here, but today was particularly bad. Staff definitely need customer service training.

Great welcome from Lynn. Busy due to half-term but staff very attentive. Fillet steak was just right and well presented. No room for deserts-next time.

Just awful. Woefully poor food availability , There were only 4 of the 8 of us that had our first choice available. Really slow service , food was cold and had to be sent back , after finally waiting for my food to be rewarmed I then had to wait 5 min for accompanying condiments by which time food was going cold again . I decided to track down my missing condiments to find a waitress holding them in her hand but she was far too busy chatting to a colleague to bring it over to our table . Staff unapologetic and management uninterested in feedback.

Such a shame how this place has gone down hill. Children running everywhere & very noisy. We used to be able to sit away from the play area but thats not an option any more. The food is good & reasonably priced. The staff are lovely. It's a shame the food & staff are let down by a poor layout of seating.

My son had a birthday last week-end and it was decided we would try the Hollybush on the Penn Road. It was on a Saturday so we booked the table for the twelve people invited, when we got there (around 7-50) it was quite full, it seemed to me the staff behind the bar could only just cope with the volume of people wanting a drink, they were also quite curt, not very friendly, probably due to the work load they had, the food was served, my soup was just about warm and the bread roll not warm at all, the main meals were all good, so was the sweets, the food staff were very pleasant and efficient. The meal value was very good if there were even numbers as most of the main meals were 2 for 1 deals.

An early evening meal with 10 friends. Table booked several weeks ago, to accommodate all of us being free for the meal. Advised to book to avoid long wait for a table. Basically the place "does what it says on the tin". A decent menu, of limited scope". We ate pizza or burgers. The place was very busy and after ordering we had to wait 50mins for our food. It was worth the wait, excellent pizza's and succulent burgers. Bar well staffed. The nice surprise was the bill,just £10 each, when the bill arrived we were informed that we qualified for the 2 for 1 offer!!!! great value.

Since changing to a grill and pizza eatery, standard have dropped. Pizza is of no flavour and did not contain toppings mentioned in menu. Staff did not feel to mention this to us. Chips where covered in oil. Service was poor, felt as though I was chasing them. 3 times just to pay the bill

went for lunch today with the family we had 2 chicken tikka//hunters chicken/and chicken gammon and mustard pie all food was spot on hot and did not look like it was out of a microwave staff very helpful the place it self was of a good clean standard decor was very good did like the different lights some bulbs needed replacing but over all a good 8/10 and yes i do look for any problems with all pub restaurants

Came today for lunch with a friend. Ordered steak which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Also had Brie and bacon dough balls which are amazing. We left well fed and happy. Service from Mandy was fantastic. Thank you. Will be back soon

Came for lunch as we have never tried it before the food was lovely and arrived in very good time!! The service from Mandy was friendly and quick!! Will definitely be returning

We were told we couldn’t eat here tonight because the mains “probably wouldn’t get out in time” it was just after 8:30pm and the opening times state open until 10:30pm. I understood they’re last orders were 9pm but they obviously wanted an earlier night and turned us away offering no solution or attempt. This is a Shame as we had wanted to try eating there for a while and work late nights in the week. Definitely won’t be trying here again.

We have been here on a number of occasions. On this visit eleven of us met up for a pre Christmas family get together. The staff were lovely and very efficient, as always. Our food arrived promptly and was all good. The two for one offer always makes a trip here good value for money.

Booked a table for 6 people and when we arrived there seemed to be some confusion about our booking, we where left standing in the doorway for a short while with no real explanation from the young lady on the desk as to what the problem was, when we where eventually shown to our table i ordered for myself a fillet steak and asked for it well done again this created another problem i was told the kitchen staff could not do steak more than medium so i could not have my food cooked how i wanted it, i suggest marstons send these people on customer service training courses, the price of the steak would have been £23, it's only another £2 down the road at miller and carter so i wont be visiting the hollybush again anytime soon, oh the other members of the party had there version of hunters chicken and all said the same chicken very dry, one more thing before i finish, i would like an answer to my question of why i could not have my steak cooked as i wanted it, no one could answer on the day not very good service at all, and i know its christmas and some people don't want to be at work well i would tell these people to find jobs in another sector and let someone pleasant do there jobs!! You call yourself grill and pizza i don't think you use a grill at all i think you use a george foreman and a microwave thats why you can't do food as ordered.

Booked in advance Christmas Day table of 8 for 2.30 finally shown to our table at 4.30 with no real apologies. Starters were all cold apart from one which had already had a bite taken from it . 5 turkey dinners and 3 steaks. side orders of cheesy potatoes,pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese most orders came with food missing everything under cooked pigs in blankets raw .

Booked in advance a table for 5 for Christmas day. £42 each for a 4 course meal. And we were not disappointed,starters were tomato soup with croutons and a roll was hot and creamy. I had the pate with brown toast and chutney very tasty. 5 Turkey Christmas dinners with roast potatoes carrots sprouts peas parsnips stuffing and pigs in blankets .we ordered extra pigs in blankets cauliflower cheese and cheesy roast potatoes. Puddings were Christmas pudding with ice cream ,chocolate torte with ice cream ,butterscotch and ginger pudding with custard cheese and biscuits and lemon meringue with procesco. We were meant to have coffee and a Christmas cake slice each for the fourth course but we were too stuffed to eat any more. Well worth the money .try it next year you wont be disappointed.
