Great food and service we all had a bit of everything, including pizza , ultimate chicken burger and rib and chicken platter it was all excellent and filling. Staff were very polite and welcoming definitely be back.

Not a great experience at all! My wife ordered our food at the bar and I ordered the drinks off their app to take advantage of the 10% discount. Their app is awful. Takes so long to load between clicks (presumably to get you to give up and go to the bar and order drinks and miss out on the promoted discount). Got there in the end but not a good experience. Having said that at least it was better than the food! Wife ordered 2 x Americano steaks for her and I and a normal steak for our 7 year old daughter. Food wait wasn’t too bad but when it did arrive, they missed off my wife’s meal! The meals were not read back to her so she had just paid and naturally assumed all was well! They did cook another meal for her but it arrived after both our daughter and I had finished. Not exactly a family meal! Also quality of the food wasn’t great either. Our steaks were dry, supposed to be medium but certainly not! Luke warm food too as obviously served onto cold plates. They did not charge my wife in the end for her meal and also gave my daughter a complimentary desert but this is likely short change to a pub of this stature. We have been a number of times to this pub before and has mostly been good. Hope it’s just a one off but it has left a sour taste in the mouth and certainly does not encourage a repeat visit!

El servicio y el ambiente era brillante todo el mundo estaba contento y la comida sonriente era deliciosa y rápida y los tamaños eran una gran relación calidad-precio. No hemos estado fuera en el Día de las Madres durante muchos años, ya que puede ser demasiado ocupado y desorganizado, pero hoy fue relajado sin problemas y simplemente un viaje encantador. Gracias por hacer que sea un día tan encantador chicos sigan haciendo lo que están haciendo volveremos pronto

Reservamos una mesa para 2 para el almuerzo del domingo y tanto mi esposa y yo pensamos que nuestras comidas eran muy buenas. Mi esposa optó por la tarta de espinacas y yo tuve un asado de pavo (grande) y el chef Rav no nos decepcionó. El personal del bar es siempre acogedor y amable, así que este es ahora nuestro ir al pub. También puedo recomendar la hamburguesa de vaquero, que he probado en un par de ocasiones.

Vine aquí para el cumpleaños de mi amigo y qué desastre fue. Reservamos en línea para 7 personas, luego llamamos para ver si podíamos cambiar a 9 personas, a lo que nos dijeron que estaba bien. Llegamos, decimos nuestra reserva y comienzan a caminar por el lugar poniendo mesas y sillas extrañas juntas para nosotros. Esto fue unos 10 minutos después de que habíamos llegado. Esta mesa era lo suficientemente grande para sentar a 6 personas. Nos quejamos y luego comienzan a echar a la gente de las mesas y preguntar si tienen reservas para tratar de acomodarnos a lo que estábamos absolutamente angustiados, ya que la gente ya estaba sentada. Finalmente nos sentamos y no nos dieron ninguna disculpa en absoluto! La comida era genial

Fui hoy por mi cumpleaños con mi marido. Pedí una pinta de Guinness, pero me dijeron que no tenían nada de Guinness en borrador solo 0% alcohol en latas. Luego le pregunté qué ventas tenían ella dijo que estaban cambiando el barreI. Pregunté cuánto tiempo pasaría. Preguntó a otra chica, pero dijo que no sabía que mi marido tenía el 0% Guinness del que disfrutaba. Durante la comida pedimos otro 0 % Guinness y una botella de procceco, pero luego se habían quedado sin 0 % latas Guinness. Pregunté si las cervezas de barril estaban de vuelta, pero no lo estaban. ¡Desafortunadamente tuve que sentarme y beber solo, ya que mi marido no bebe más y le ofrecieron un vaso de agua! ¿Cuánto tiempo se tarda en cambiar un barril? Estuvimos allí por 1 pm y nos fuimos a las 2 . 15 pm y las cervezas de barril todavía no estaba encendido. Lástima como la comida era buena y el personal era educado, pero estropeó nuestra experiencia gastronómica.

Booked for a large family event. Over 30 guests. The food was lovely and all of our meals came out within minutes of each other. Nothing was too much trouble and in particular the staff member who took care of us - Tia - was amazing. All staff were pleasant and polite. We will definitely be going back.

Tuvimos un tiempo fantástico y el personal y la dirección eran muy acogedores, estaba muy ocupado especialmente para un lunes y estaba preocupado de que no podíamos estar sentados. Todo el personal era muy encantador y considerado, especialmente Shannon cuando le dijeron que mi shandy era de hecho refresco que estaba mortificado bendicela, pero pronto lo rectificó. La comida estaba caliente y tan deliciosa la primera vez que probamos las pizzas que son una necesidad. Un crédito al propio personal y a la dirección por el apoyo hacia su personal, evidentemente visible y eficiente en su forma de trabajar y de conducirse. Buen trabajo. As someone who has spend nearly a decade as a manager in customer service. . I can honestly say that the customer service was brilliant this evening! Our food and drinks were served promptly and could not fault anything. Maisie in particular was a delightful member of staff and even stayed an extra couple of minutes to quickly serve me at the bar when it looked like her shift had finished (she had her jacket on). She's a credit to the establishment alongside everyone else that engaged with me this evening. I look forward to visiting again in the near future. Would highly recommend for the 5 star quality of the establishment, the food & staff! Kind Regards Sachin

We attended this venue for a 2 course Christmas lunch, there were 35 of us, the majority of which were adults with learning difficulties. The whole team were fantastic, they decorated the tables beautifully, they were so very patient and kind towards our service users and literally could not do more for us. The food was beautiful, it came out piping hot (which never happens with large bookings). I can’t fault it at all, especially as we were a big group with some very challenging people. Thank you so very much for such a fantastic day….see you next year!

Went here today to celebrate my grand daughter’s 16th birthday. Lovely meal and staff. Thanks to Eva, Tia Lucy and Harman.

On walking up to the bar to order I was served by Lucy, who was professional, cheerful and bubbly. Ordering food and drink took no time and was soon brought to the table by Lucy, who proved to have good conversational skills. All in all, Lucy is a credit to the pub and Marstons. My festive burger with fries was absolutely delicious and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her cheddar, leek and potato pie. We will definately return in the near future, as this pub offers really good value.

Where to begin……. I ordered the classic chicken burger with added jalapeños, fried onions and fries egg. Then added nacho cheese sauce on the side for my fries. The chefs made it spectacular. It was moist, piping hot and the presentation was inviting. Overall, the perfect chicken burger meal dish. Everyone must come here. You will not be disappointed but leaving full and happy. Thankyou Chefs, you’ve made me a full fan of the food and certainly will returning every week.

Went for sunday lunch, booked on advance. Confirmed we could order sunday lunch before we sat down, ordered drinks and went to place the order to be told no Sunday Lunch available!!! Wasted time and money and no apology offered. The staff couldn't give a monkey's!!! Don't go!!!

My wife and I have been dining at the Hollybush on and off for years. We had our wedding reception there in 2008 and have loved the place since then. The service [with a smile] has always been very good, the staff are always very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Today's visit was a just as good as previous ones and the food is better than ever.

Love this pub always good hot food and a real friendly service. Highly reccomended. Great atmosphere and the staff are always polite.

This Pub is amazing, truly eye catching. I came in for a spot of lunch with the family and was greeted by a lovely team member Leo. Leo told us to take a seat on a clean, spacious table. We were then served by the amazing barry, who told us about the special deals on at the time. He put through our food quite easily. The food came promptly, it was piping hot and tasted fantastic. I would definitely recommend to come here and try the food. Amazing spot.

Having been coming to this pub for some years and having lovely food, I was very disappointed this evening, I am not one to complain so I didn't which I know I should have, I had steak and ale pie which wasn't hot and the chips weren't that hot, having nearly eaten half my meal I found a long black hair on my plate, I don't normally have desert but as I was upset about my meal I chose apple crumble and custard, which very much like the pie wasn't that hot. Disappointed tonight..shame really the pub was quite busy but no excuse..

Our primary reason for visiting the Hollybush was to watch the US Masters Golf Tournament on Sky TV. As we entered the pub, it was very welcoming and is well laid out. The standard of fitments is high. We found a table, ordered a drink and settled down to watch the golf. All good so far. As we were to make an evening of it, we ordered food and on checking about the golf coverage, were informed by a barman that they would be switching over to football later. However, we were told that the barman would leave 2 screens with the golf on. After a good meal, the football appeared on the numerous screens around the pub. The barman said that he had made a mistake and only football was to be shown. The pub manager said that there were 2 football games being screened and that the golf would not be shown. Both apologised. The manager informed me that it was primarily a football pub. On leaving the pub shortly after, we noticed that only 1 football match was being shown. There is also no sound on the screens. A loud quiz was also starting. It was a disappointing end to the evening, especially as I had checked that the golf would be shown via Facebook.

I have eaten here twice in the last month. I am celiac so order off the gluten free menu and inform the staff of my allergy. Both times now I have been ill with gluten symptoms afterwards. I have ordered cheeseburger and chips both times. I am not sure what issue is, I suspect either the chips/fries are not gluten free, some fries are coated in flour to crisp them up, or the fryer used is cross contaminated, or the preparation of gluten free food is not understood or not treated seriously. Whatever it is it needs sorting. Both times I have not eaten anywhere else so the likelihood that I was glutenned at this restaurant is 100%. If they can't deal with serving food allergy free then they should just not offer it.

I had booked in, when we arrived there was no one to greet us, it was quite busy. We went through to the bar and told we were in the wrong place and got moved to the restaurant. This was not clear. When we were eventually seen too there was a confusion with our table placement. When we got placed there were no condiments or menus on the table. We had to go find some from another table. No staff were available, they were all quite busy. We tried to order from the app but there was no place to enter the voucher. We ended up having to go to the bar. The sticky toffee pudding was not on the app but was available when we went to the bar. When we sat down our desserts came out first. We had to send them back as we did not have our mains. We waited a while for our food, which were good portions and warm. We were given a salt shaker which was empty. Everyone else was asked if they wanted to participate in the quiz, our table was missed. Once we finished our food we had to ask for desserts. There was a quiz and football match going on in the background. My friends dessert arrived and I was told mine would be out shortly. The apple crumble was not cooked properly. I appreciate it was busy but it was not a good visit on this occasion. On another note, the refurb looked nice.

A very disappointing meal today. The value when compared with another establishment yesterday was very poor. We ordered two light meals, scampi and fish. We both have very small appetites but we’ve come away hungry. Yesterday we were unable to complete our meal. The price was not competitive. The table was not clean. The service however was good.

Okay so booked a table for our visit on arriving it appeared our table was given to someone else as our reserved card was on bar, so we where sat in another part of the pub where the kids normally play, food and drinks where ordered, we found the room very cold and spoke to a manger who very quickly moved us to the main area which was warmer and pleasant. Food came very fast, kids enjoyed their food as did my wife and mother in law, my food was perfectly cooked the steak was cooked to my exact liking the food was hot and well presented. They even got my kids food spot on as they don’t like this or that lol 😂 Only negative and it’s a minor one but a point to note for all bluelight members you can’t use it at weekends to get discount on meals.

Table of 12 booked for Sunday lunch and when you eventually took our order we were told you ran out of Sunday roasts which is majorly disappointing and when we ordered food it took 100 minutes to get a burger and fries!!! Terrible service, super slow on all levels average pub food so I would not recommend going here to anyone.

Firstly the table we had reserved someone had sat in, a kind gentleman moved and we had a booth opposite the bar, kids running around unsupervised, I appreciate it was half term and we chose a family pub but keep your children under control or staff ask the families to be respectful of other diners, the table behind us the language was disgusting F and C words, staff were friendly enough but oblivious to what was around them, food and drunk were OK well presented and hot, paid the bill then forgot ww had bluelight card, we were told it would be a hassle to refund and then take the discount off, the kitchen would need to be informed raised eyebrows to much trouble so we said forgot it. If you want a decent meal with kids running around climbing on the back of your seat shouting and screaming this is your place.

We had booked a table at the Hollybush Inn recently hoping to enjoy a nice meal out. Unfortunately upon arrival and despite Covid still being present our table of 4 was to be placed directly next to another occupied table when so many other tables were free.. Why would you do this? We hadn't even sat down and then told the number of items that wasn't available along with the decor of the pub which to be honest is not great in all honesty so decided not to stay to eat. Not a great first impression given that we have visited this pub a few years back and not impressed to be honest with the new look. We will not be visiting again based on this experience.

So I decided to take my family for a meal at the Holly Bush Penn Rd. I ordered a medium rare 10oz aged rump steak and my kids had a pepperoni pizza.The steak was presented dry and charred, it looked like it's been languishing at the bottom of a freezer for years, then microwaved and finished off on a grill.My steak had no flavour, smelt foul and really was the worst steak I've eaten in 40 years. The peppercorn sauce was curdled, thin and nasty.My kids pizza was full size with 5 silces of pepperoni, need I say more. Won't be eating here again, I would strongly reccomend you go elsewhere before wasting your money.Reading some of the other reviews I can't believe anyone has been happy with the food.

Great welcome from Becky on our visit to the Holly Bush Inn this week. Personal service, good food & value for money.

Prior to our arrival, I compiled a menu list for the family of over twenty members including children. On arrival, our area was ready and spacious, and the staff was very accommodating. The food was hot, lovely and very well presented, and we didn't have to wait too long for the next course. I would like to thank the staff for being very professional and helpful. Our family stated they would happily go back again for the next family event.

Food not up to much,one of the meals was that poor quality of food, this was changed for another meal that was just as bad, they thought they were doing us a favour by not charging us for those two, but honestly why would they expect to be paid for something not was not eaten due to the poor quality of the food. The other meals were also very underwhelming poor quality and tasteless, putting it on a big plate it was lost, for the life of me why anyone would put thin paper under fish and chips is ridiculous, you have to eat while trying not to eat paper which didn't happen, and to top it all off we were charged £1 70 for a glass of squash made up of warm tap water and ice, would definitely not recommend this place, having a new menu should be for the better unfortunately not in this case

We had a lovely time on Sunday and our waitress Mollie was delightful, we had lovely seats and puddings were an added nice treat to the day.

Was visiting family locally with the easing of Covid restrictions on today so decided to eat out, chose the Hollybush due to easy even after looking at other reviews but must say we glad we did, from the warm smiley welcome from Rach and being made to feel comfortable and safe even with the Covid lifting. We where Seated to our table and our drinks where served within 5 mins.Then we Order our food and I’m not going lie I’m very fussy with how my steak is cooked but it was cooked to perfection and the rest of our tables food all looked delicious and everyone said how lovely it was, hot and tasty. Beth then convinced us to have desserts which we did and those where just as delicious. Staff and food credit to your pub and to MarstonsThank you.

Comes highly recommended,pre booked a table,was met by some lovely staff.we had some fantastic food and plenty of drinks whilst watching England play in the final.we felt really comfortable as the place was very observant of the covid rules. Be back soon 👍

Popped in with the family for an evening watching England play in their final game,we pre ordered a table which was right in front of a big TV ,staff met n greeted us at the door and showed us to our table,we all had a meal when we first arrived,hit our table within 15 minutes,was piping hot and there was plenty on the plate,every one of us cleared our plates and even decided to have a sweet lol. we had plenty to drink including nearly every cocktail they had on their drinks menu .staff were superd and very helpful.thank you for a wonderful evening ❤️

Can’t rate this so highly, staff attentive, Covid secure, Food was delicious best visit for food to a pub since being able to reopen and all this in a Saturday night. All the staff where happy in there work and atmosphere was good. Cocktails where outstanding also

So I took the kids for dinner. Although the service was adequate the food was poor. The pizza was a joke. My son’s nachos were so spicy he had to ask for a glass of milk. The onion rings were obviously frozen. The two so called sirloin steaks were more like rump. As for the deserts. My sticky toffee pudding was more like a chocolate pudding from a tin. We were sat next to the staff entrance and toilets. I have been in the hospitality industry for over 30 years and this experience ranks up there as one of the most disappointing. After the tip I left you wouldn’t get much change out of a hundred pounds.

Fantastic meal again, worth the wait during these trying times. Will be back. Thank you to all the great staff who work here

It was so nice to meet with friends after the year we have all had.We decided to come hear and reserved a table. We arrived and after completing the Track & Trace we were shown our table. The pub was quite empty, so we were able to get our meals quickly.The good has improved here especially the presentation.Staff was very attentive and friendly. Visited several times very unacomadating on arrival staff not helpful and abrupt. They seem to say that they are fully booked and 70% of tables empty. we walk 200meters to roebuck and we have no problems at all very pleasent staff.

Popped in for a quick pint after work. Very friendly staff. Just what I needed after a long day. It was nice to be surrounded by a great atmosphere in the garden.

Popped up Tuesday afternoon as I just fancied a nice cold pint as i hadn’t had a one for what seemed like years lol. staff seemed well trained up for these strange Covid-19 rules and dealt with me and my friend very professional. You could tell since the last time I visited the place had had plenty of TLC under lockdown and it looked very homely . Highly recommended

Myself and my partner decided to try out the breakfast which the Hollybush was advertising,I must say I’m hard to please so when I say their breakfast was worth it I meen it,food was nice and hot and everything was really tasty,their social distancing comforted me as everything was in place,staff were ver6 helpful and the place was nice and clean.

Welcomed safely, lovely food and really helpful staff. The lady that served us was Keiran sorry if apt it wrong. One way system. Plenty of room between us and other diners. Come here if you want good food and looking after well. Even just after lockdown, got vegan ice-cream!!

My wife's food was appalling, sent the 1st dish back, 2nd wasn't much better, but we had given up by then. Desert was still frozen. Very poor meal. Visited this resturaunt many times before, usually a lot better than this. Highly disappointed. Only reason it didn't get 1* is that our children's meals were edible.

Popped in to the Hollybush for something to eat ,nice to see how relaxed they made us feel when we first arrived,they found us a nice table with plenty of space and the food wasn’t long before it arrived on our table,nice n hot and plenty to get stuck into.would recommend especially for families . Would easily recommend the Hollybush,staff went above n beyond to assure myself and my family were very safe whilst visiting there.we didn't have to wait long before our food arrived,was popping hot and for for the price there was plenty on the plates .we all had before burgers which were superb and the taste was pure quality.many thanks to Marstins for trying to give us some normality in these tender times .

went to have a belated birthday meal. Greeted by Jon fantastic guy, put us completly at ease and showed us to our table. Brilliant idea with the menus. Son ordered burger and i ordered fish and chips. The food was outstanding, i cleared my plate which is unusual for me. My son loved his burger. All the staff were so friendly can not wait to go back

Came to hollybush first time since lock down in March to have a meal and chat with some my friends. Had turkey roast it was nice yummy thick gravy how I like it and rest was nice also. Had a lovely waitress who was our host never catch her name but she has glasses and face mask on sorry always willing to help any always check if we need top up on drinks etc keep it up the hard work definitely be back but think have some cheeky drinks next time how it's been awhile

First meal after lockdown, and what a meal it was! We were greeted by very friendly staff who accompanied us to our table while abiding to government guidelines. Our Waitress for the night was Hannah, who was really lovely and very nice to talk with. She was attentive and always asked whether we needed anymore drinks and how our food was. She gave great recommendations and was overall an amazing waitress and made our night!

Waited soooo long for a decent pint,popped into the Hollybush and my first pint didn’t touch the sides lol. Must say was nice to see all the COVID-19 restrictions in place and fair play to marstons as it wasn’t over constricted where you felt like a robot .THANK YOU FOR OPPENING

Been going here for a while. Varied menu. Lovely food. We really like the Pepsi Max with syrup machine. Been a bit disappointed that the machine isn't working quite often. Just mentioned that to Jon and he said wait a moment it might just need refilling and went and did it immediately. Added to our enjoyment a lot. Thank you Jon.

Popped in the the family for some food, as always greeted by some proper decent staff, nice to see nowadays.food came quickly and it was fantastic value for money, kids enjoyed there treats too. Wonderful experience at Holly Bush! Staff friendly especially Hannah she just makes you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble, always smiling, working hard and brings nothing but great atmosphere for the pub! Not yet had one bad dish, foods just amazing for basic pub food! Hannah keeps drawing us back...

Wonderful experience at the Hollybush!! Drinks were reasonably priced and a lovely chilled and friendly atmosphere. Pizza was bostin!!!! Staff friendly especially Hannah she just makes you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble the pub has a diamond there!!!!

Visited on the 7th March.Food was good so was the service.Hannah served us and was very friendly, pleasant and helpful.

We love to visit the Hollybush and weren’t disappointed this time. We were greeted by Hannah when we arrived and she always has a smile and a hug for our daughter. Hannah is always welcoming and keeps us coming back time and time again. We found a perfect table in the children’s section and the meal was spectacular, we had the meal deal option and were very impressed. Highly recommend Hannah and the Hollybush ❤️

1st time trying this place today and we will be back. Walked in got sat at a table straight away, staff was very polite and was a warm welcome.Got served at the bar straight away for drinks and food. Food was out within 15 mins and was cooked to perfection and hot! We chose the holly bush because we didnt have alot of money but WOW it really was value. 6 people fed and watered for 50 quid! Clean, warm and comfortable place and great for kids too as they have a play area. Special thanks to kate for the service and the chef jodi. The management have done a fantastic job here. 5 stars from me and my family. Thank you and see you soon. Matthew

Visited over the weekend for a family meal, lovely food and great service particularly from Hannah who was very friendly and helpful

Lovely atmosphere. Pleasant and very friendly staff. Staff were so accommodating with charitable events. The food was absolutely delicious. Grilled fish and chips was a lovely healthy option. Great choice of vegetarian, vegan and desserts. My friends loved the new layout and we all really enjoyed our meals and the night. Children’s play area looked great too. We come here every year and will continue to do so. Dan and John are fantastic and welcoming managers. Would highly recommend this pub to all.

Food and drink was very nice and the service was very pleasant. All of the starters and mains were promptly delivered. The service by Hannah was wonderful.

lovely atmosphere, great place. The food was piping hot and tasted great me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed and will be returning, man on the bar in a white shirt sadly didnt catch his name was very polite and helpful.

Very nice staff much better than the last management also food was really nice and didn't wait too long either so we will be coming again 👌

Visited this week with my family and were really impressed with the food and with the politeness and knowledge of staff member John, he helped us with suitable food for my daughter who has allergies.

Just had a fantastic meal here, big shout out to jonathon super friendly guy and a great help with food recommendations, really knows his food. Lovely atmosphere will definatley be going back as great service and value for money. Thank you all for a great time
