I was sent a half birthday discount voucher which is always good to miss. Booked a table for a Friday night, as I know the place can get really busy. Our reserved table was in a nice area in the pub Ava our food was excellent. Staff very friendly and a nice atmosphere.

Food really good. Service we couldn't fault, the guy who served us remembered our drinks order, which was appreciated. Food arrived in a timely manner. Kofta kebabs to start, good, but would have liked a piece of bread with it. Prawns lovely. Seabass main very good, tandori chicken good, but made a mistake if having sauce on the fries. Unfortunately the ladies toilet hadn't been checked, paper everywhere.

Had the lasagne which tasted like minced beef in gravy with a little pasta on top. Go quite regularly to this pub and usually very happy with the food. Really disappointed.

Came here for the first time as it was half way between us and some friends The service was fantastic, really friendly! Food was great and very reasonably priced Drinks were amazing, we tried half the cocktail menu as there is an offer on, 2 for £12.50 Will be here again! Special mention to JJ and Michaela, they went above and beyond.

Visited today for a treat mothers day meal. Table booked online. Confirmed the booking at the bar and was pointed to the table where we would be seated so went and sat down. Went to the bar to order drinks to be asked if we had a table booked and asked numerous times if we’d paid a deposit for said table which we hadn’t. Once settled with drinks the manager came over to ask if we’d booked and been seated as the reserve sign was still on the table. Advised again yes we have booked and was told to sit where we sat. I felt as good communication and organisation the manager could have asked his team members first before coming over to ask us had we booked, it felt assumed we’d walked in off the street and sat down at a reserved table. The manager seems a little abrupt and we pointed out this was the third time within 5 minutes we’d been asked if we had a booking. Food was nice but communication and organisation seemed lacking considering it’s Mother’s Day. The lesson here is not to judge a book by its cover !

First time meal & drinks with my girlfriend, very friendly efficient service from the bar staff & waitresses, didn’t have to wait long for food or drinks, I had the pie & my girlfriend had the fish & chips…. Both meals were lovely!!! ☺️ nice atmosphere without being too noisy, will definitely visit again 👍🏻🙂

I came here with my mum last evening week and she was very disappointed with the shepherd’s pie, not enough mince and too many peas. We mentioned this to the waitress and the manager came over to apologise, but my mum was happy she had told her and didn’t want anything to compensate. During the following week, I received an email with a 40% discount code. I’m not sure if this was because of what has happened or it was a genuine sales pitch. So we decided to give it another go. The place was rammed, the code probably was marketing but we chose something different and my mum was pleased. She does like the Burnt Post and it seemed a shame that I she was unhappy with one of her meals. All is good and we will return.

Very poor meal. I ordered bangers and mash, probably my go to dish. Was very shocked at the amount that was in my bowl. You could have put the sausages and mash in the palm of your hand! 3 sausages (average amount in most places) but no veg and only a couple of spoons of potatoes! Literally! 3 small onion rings on the side. To pay over £10.00 I have to say it was a rip off. Callum behind the bar was very friendly and courteous. He’s a definite keeper for you.

Unfortunately on our last visit, both meals were awful. However, this is not the norm so we tried it again today. Absolutely lovely. Was served by a very friendly dark haired lady and the two mixed grills we had were delicious. Piping hot and the steak on both were perfectly cooked despite 2 different tastes. Will be back.

Busy place but didn’t wait long for drinks or food. Good food for what you pay and the beer ain’t bad overall better than a sizzler

Absolutely awful starter 40 mins late burnt tough prawns chicken black when mains came mixed grill sausage very pink on one side black on the other where was the steak the mushroom was bigger over cooked l was told by the manager what do you expect its christmas l replied what you are joking he then came no apology slammed slammed a full payment on the table and walked off l sat there in tears and was told he had to go and take a break absolutely disgusting How a company should allow employees to treat customers in this way never again will l go to this public house stay clear .

Went to the Burnt Post last night for xmas meal. There were 18 of us and the pub was really busy, but that did not affect the great meal, service and food. The Landlord was very attentive and staff quick and friendly. I would definitely recommended this pub and will go again. Happy Christmas Maddie RSPCA Allelsey

Disappointing as I'd heard good reviews. Be careful of the offers - the meals are 'from'. Staff seem distracted, apart from our waitress who tried to make up for the others. Asked for a 'well done' steak. There was blood on the plate when the food was delivered. Any decent chef would realise that it was going to be pink inside when it's oozing blood. Very much doubt I will be visiting again anytime soon.

Had a take away today delivered by uber. I ordered hunters chicken which I have had before as a take away and have always been satisfied .Tiday though it was dreadful. Stale chips tough chicken and inedible onion rings . Luke warm despite living within a few minutes of Burnt post. Wont order a take away from here again

We had my dad's send off here last week. It had been his local and is ours, as well as many of his friends. The food and general organisation was fantastic. Dan was really helpful and kind to me and mum when discussing food and beverages which were all spot on. We changed a couple of things in the 2 weeks leading up to the event and nothing was too much trouble. We had a large turn out with a free bar and the dedicated bar staff attending to our group were amazing. Always on top of the tab and keeping us informed along the way. We chose the Gold buffet package and the food was very good with it being filtered out in waves rather than all at the same time with some to take home...... Highly recommended this great pub and lovely staff and thank you Burnt Post for giving my dad the send off he deserved.

Love this place so glad it’s our local! Great choice of food and desserts and also cocktails. Child friendly and always a warm welcome. Great pub quiz on a Sunday too. I can highly recommend the chargrilled veg linguini! It’s advisable to book if it’s a Friday or Saturday though as it can get really busy. Nice atmosphere.

I was here as part of a pre booked group of thirty people who had provided the restaurant with a list of starters mains and puddings well in advance of our arrival. The meal was booked for 12.30 and we were advised to arrived at about 12.15 so that we could be seated at our allocated tables ahead of the lunch. Shockingly although the booking was for 12.30 nothing arrived until 13.30 and it was very piecemeal with each choice being delivered separately. I can understand it can take time however I had finished my main course before the people who had ordered fish and chips had their meal delivered. Then the plates were left and left before the diners started putting them together in the vain hope that they would be collected.It wasn’t until the staff came out to determine who was having what as a pudding that they were prompted to clear the plates. Again the puddings arrived piecemeal with a long lag between each choice. Even though they had asked when determining what puddings people were having there was again a delay in providing the custard or ice cream to add to the pudding. Once again clearing away took an interminable time and indeed one guest who had a doctors appointment had to leave quickly even though we had been joking about how much time she had in hand at 12.30. I have to be frank and say that my heart sank when the organisers told me the venue was The Burnt Post as a few years ago I had an equally chaotic dinner service when we were there with our Rotary club. On that occasion I was prepared to cut them some slack as the meals were not pre selected but clearly there are still organisational issues with the operation of the food service and given that it’s an Ember Inn which is set up to provide food I am deeply disappointed.

This review is based on my first and last visit to this pub. The Inside and garden were really nice,The food was awful and the friendliness of the staff were not far behind. Here goes! Chicken wings sent back as over cooked and ready hard. No apology just a miserable scowl from the waitress Mediterranean linguine - sauce out of a jar, no vegetables except one thin slice of courgette, two cherry tomatoes cut in half and four small revolting pieces of something that doesn't even taste like cheese. Ham egg and chips - two over cooked eggs, cheap round piece of ham off colour. Puddings were actually OK. My nhs discount was declined as we ordered off a set menu. I've not had an issue anywhere else before. In hindsight I regret not complaining but I really don't think they would be bothered. I put it down to a bad experience and left, leaving most of our food uneaten. We went because the reviews looked good. I've now looked back on them, it's obvious a lot of these are set up. Some have made reviews three or four times some have never reviewed anywhere else. There is a trend of people only making one review, guess what! They have also not made any more reviews for other places. I would not recommend The Burnt Post to anyone and I will definitely not be returning

We had a sirloin steak and chicken wings. Steak cooked to perfection. Beef dripping gravy is lovely. Staff warm and friendly. So glad it's my local.

Great pub, with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Run by an awesome team. We love our local! Even if there isn't a burnt post.

I went to the Burnt Post last night with 5 friends, one of whom was a coeliac. I ca honestly say, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, checking what was gluten free and even putting together a special pudding for the coeliac birthday girl. Friendly staff, good food, nice venue. Couldn't fault it.

Came here for bite to eat and the live music. Service and standards were second to none. Food was fantastic, I recommend the tikka skewers even though they are vegan. Atmosphere was lively and welcoming great pub. 100% recommend to everyone.
