We recently visited the Harvester Pub and had an absolutely fantastic time! As a group from the Doncaster Restraint Museum, we were thrilled by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were not only professional but also incredibly fun and engaging. They were open to playing around with handcuffs, which added a unique and entertaining twist to our visit. A special shoutout to Teagan, who provided amazing service throughout our time there. Her friendly demeanor and attention to detail made our experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend the Harvester Pub for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a memorable time!

Very disappointed they have taken away the meal deals, this made our meal very expensive for what we had, my scampi was average and my wife's nachos poor. The restaurant was really quiet probably because you can get better value elsewhere.

Had a great time. Amazing food, and enjoyed the recently introduced honey drizzled cornbread. Our server, Joan’s, was very helpful and helped us with the harvester app, and suggestions on what to choose. She was very friendly and engaging. Can’t wait for the next visit when we can try the new menu. Some interesting choices on there.

We frequent the bell & barge 3-4 times a week usually. If you visit ensure that you have downloaded the harvester app where there are offers on such as 25% off your first visit & then collect stamps for at each visit & you can earn £20 off a £40 spend or a free main course after 2 & 6 visits which drastically reduces the bill, we hardly ever pay full price these days. There is a good size car park there also which does get busy as it's shared with the adjacent premier but you can normally find a space to park somewhere. Being regulars there it is often very busy most evenings so you need to book which is easy on the app or phone, you can just turn up but often people are turned away or offered to go into the bar due to the restaurant being fully booked. There is a good selection of food on the menu to choose from & also some set menus which are worthwhile looking at if you are having more than one course. The food is generally good & nothing too fancy, they will happily swap any of the sides out on your dishes for equivalent ones to suit your tastes better & most meals are of a good size. As an added bonus with every main course they will give you a bowl to help yourself to the unlimited salad cart where there are 12 or so items that you can help yourself too along with sauces & bread rolls so this acts as our starter which you can return as many times that you want. The desserts are very good I can recommend the treacle sponge but it must be with custard & the sundaes are also good. There is a good range of drinks also including some soft drinks such as Pepsi which have free refills which you do yourself in the restaurant which is a popular choice. If you are into your real ales however it may not be the place for you but Nikki, Sophie, Kenzie & others will offer you a good service in the bar. There is a table service if you are eating in the restaurant which is good but can encounter a short wait for your drinks to arrive to your table. You receive some of the world's best service from the girls there such as Jo, Justice, little Lou, Louisa, Teagan, Joana, Rita, Lily, Gus, Sarah, J, Tracey & El to name a few who are really friendly & like to chat with all of their customers & not just us regulars, they will check on all of their customers & seem to enjoy their work there. If you have any allergies, they will go through in detail what you can have & not have which is one of Harvesters key priorities. They also get to keep their tips which is good, the waitresses look after one of the four sections of the restaurant so you are mainly served by them for the evening which is good. In the summer you can also go & sit out in the beer garden to have your food & drink which overlooks the canal & is in various levels which can get busy on the rare occasions that it's not raining & your dog is also welcome out there. We generally spend around one hour there just having the main course which is good & time flies while your eating your salad anyway so the wait for food doesn't seem that long then. We often see the same faces of customers there so it's not just me that rates this establishment but others also. If you live in the Rugby area or visiting this is a place worthwhile visiting if you want a good meal out with friends & families or even on a business trip by yourself as they can cater for parties of 1-20 people in various sections of the restaurant & bar, it may not be the best place for a romantic meal for two however or to impress someone.

We were her for a Sunday celebration. Our waiter, Ethan was very attentive and explained the menus to us. He came into his own, when the steak in my wife's meal was very chewy. No problem, he took it away, explained that there would be a small delay and then brought a fresh plate for her. This time her meat was perfect. The nice thing about this restaurant is that it is slightly out of town, adjacent to a canal. The view of trees and nature makes for a mindful meal experience.

Awful food and a long wait for it. Party of 7 family members and everyone found their food overpriced and very disappointing. The so called "Rump steak" was once again like the sole of a shoe. Impossible to chew through let alone swallow. It was terribly embarrassing having to spit out every attempted mouthful! - Too harsh? Not in the least, please waste £12.50 of your own money and see for yourself what poor quality garbage this "Harvester" attempts to pass off as "steak".My meal was the very least expensive ordered by our group of 7 - everyone was unhappy with the quality of the food received (from fish to the usual dry chicken they serve).A total and utter waste of around £150 - shocking food and never ever again will we risk it. Don't take my word for it - try it for yourself - it is the worst food you could waste your hard earned cash on...

No puedo ir demasiado. freír aunque mal profundo.

We went to the Bell and Barge for lunch today .We used to like Harvester restaurants but following a disastrous breakfast there some time ago, ( Harvester ignored my letter ), we have been avoiding Harvester.Today we decided to give them another chance it the experience was below standard and the management need a tightener.!On arrival we discovered the car park area to be litter strewn and untidy. It's not been like this before with abandoned ceramic coffee mug, sweet wrappers and empty pop bottles. ( A 5 minute litter pick? )The time was 11-50 and we were directed to a seat. We always have a dish called Simply Chicken but this has gone from the menu now but there is a similar (more costly dish ) that we both ordered.Simply Chicken used to include a baked potato but the new dish didn't.We had to order the baked potato as an extra but the waitress explained that due to a " miscommunication " in the kitchen , no one had put the potatoes on and they would be an hour.I expressed my disappointment and the waitress explained that the garlic mash was very nice. She explained that the salad bar wasn't ready yet.We ordered bitter shandy which soon arrived and we waited for the salad bar to receive its bread rolls and serving spoons. Seemed a bit slack as they open st 11-30?The bitter shandy tasted like a soft sweet drink and it looked cloudy and unappetising. The salad bar proved better than we remembered .The service of our main was quick and efficient. When the bill came it included £6 for one and a half pints of bitter shandy.I explained about the drink being awful and advised the waitress to see her manager about the bill. She took the drinks away and came back explaining " they said the bitter was off last night , but no one told anyone " I remarked that it usually meant that they needed to clean out their pipes. The deducted the £6 from the bill. The restaurant opens ar 8-00 for breakfast .The toilets were disgusting with litter , spent toilet paper etc strewn around. The toilet bowls were dirty and the place needed a good blitzing. The waitress was friendly , caring and polite .The manager needs to run a tighter ship!!I will not write again to Harvester as they lack the customer care or manners to reply.Shall we use Harvester again ? Would you?

Have just had my first Christmas dinner of the season and it was delicious. There was so much on the plate I thought I would fail in my mission to empty it - but I managed - just!Spit roast chicken with stuffing and 5 veg with thick gravy and cranberry sauce - lovely. My wife had had a flat iron steak which she also raved about - so good she wouldn't let me even have a taster. Of course an added bonus with Harvesters is the unlimited visits to the brilliant salad bar which has probably 2 dozen different options to choose from. The Restaurant area has a very pleasant and interesting lay-out which seems to go on and on. Tables are arranged in both open areas and more secluded alcoves and bays. There is no overcrowding of the tables making your dinning experience very pleasant. There are some tables set into the window bays giving and outlook onto the canal that passes by outside. There is plenty of parking as an added bonus. We were seated immediately and our drinks and food orders were taken very quickly. There was no undue delay with our food being served so all in all it was a good meal.

Guys, The Bell & Barge is part of the Harvester Chain. The establishment had excellent decor, spacious seating with views over the the Oxford Canal. My friend and I were met at the door by a waitress named Tibia, she was well dressed in a clean and tidy uniform, she bid us both a warm welcome and directed us to a table. After I collected two coffee's from a nearby table, Tibia kindly ran through all the items we could choose to eat from the breakfast menu. Believe me it was endless. We were then greeted by Tanneth who made us both welcome. We both had 2 sausage, 3 bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, hash browns and as much toast as you could eat. Guys it was tremendous, well presented and absolutely delicious. What did it cost, a mere £4.99 each, it was for nothing. There is an extra charge for your drink, I believe it was £1.50, but your drinks were endless, help yourself, this included fruit juice. The whole experience was excellent, a great feed, with a breakfast cooked to order and as you would like it. Definitely value for money. Highly recommended.PGH 731

Order was correct. Bill was correct and arrived promptly. Would give this visit and our young blonde waitress (sorry I did not get her name) a 5* rating.Midweek visit - WHAT a difference in service. Drinks order wrong. Meal wrong. No-one came near us during the meal for drinks or see if we were happy and had all we needed, bill took an AGE to ask for (no-one looking after us) and then took an AGE to be presented - and was wrong. Think the waitress was a granny that was suffering from amnesia. that's why I have given 3 stars. Food is OK harvester style - but service is a gamble.

I decided to leave the M1 before Rugby to have a break or meal before the long M6 journey ahead and came aacross this place by chance as I was heading towards joining the M6.It was a surprise and the overall visit was very good. The meals, basic were good, and the selection of drinks although I couldn't drink much. The staff were friendly too and there wasn't too much noise around so it was a nice break before another few hours of delays on the M6.

I went with my Husband, Daughter and 1 year old Grandson for breakfast on Sunday morning. We all chose the Continental with unlimited hot drinks. We also had Porridge and Juice as add ons, it was all very nice although there were no crumpets, which my little grandson enjoys but there was plenty of everything else. We were shown to a table straightaway and a high chair was there too. The Waitress, Hollie, was extremely pleasant and efficient, she ensured that we were happy with everything, even to the point of bringing out the Red Bush tea bags for me and my Daughter and making decaf coffee for my Husband. We had a really lovely experience, it was a good start to our day. The Bell & Barge should be proud of Hollie and the great job that she does.

Long wait, poor service and absolutely diabolical food, given a free sweet to make up for inedible steak. Then charged for the sweet !, then they could not remove the charge as the "till would not allow".The place is dirty and while we where " discussing " our poor experience they had 4 more complaints. If you are lucky it will be shut, otherwise drive round to Tescos and buy a sandwich. It is as bad as it gets, oh and 2 in our party had a funny tummy the next day.

Pleasent summer evening me and my husband fancied a meal out hoping it would not take too long. We waited nearly an hour and a half for our food having only ordered main courses. When the food arrived it was average quality. I knew there was a reason we hadn't eaten here in years. Don't think we will be coming back for food again. We sat outside for our meal. The whole time we were here (over 2.5 hours after waiting so long for the food) the table next to us was filthy. The customers that had been on that table must have left well before we arrived but all the plates, left over food and glasses were just left there. Given the hot weather it attracted so many flies. It was disgusting. Many waiters/waitresses walked past the table but just looked at it and left it there. Take some pride in the place you work at.

Went here yesterday for the first time with my 2 children age 5 and 8.Taking in mind i have not visited a harvester for around 7 years. On first impressions the outside was clean tidy and well presented. The inside is also very similar. The staff were helpful and did everything asked of them. Pushing the extras very well with every customer. The disappointing part is the food is still very average. Yes the menu had changed since my last visit but the quality was still the same.Saying this its not the worst restaurant i have visited but very avaerage. I would pop in for a quick meal again but i would never take a new partner there unless i was on a budget.

My meal was not very inspiring and I felt the chef could have done a much better job, the chips were obviously old and should not have been sent out, the fish was mainly batter, not the chefs fault as it is bought in ready battered and frozen, the tartae sauce was very thin and the mushy peas lacked any real taste, I would not visit again. However the lady that served me was fantastic and a delight, the name Kelly is on the receipt, so if Kelly served me, you are great and deserve better service from your company, your smiled melted a thousand ice creams.

You know what to expect in a Harvester but this was on the better side. Busy, and that's a good sign. Free refills on soft drinks is a bonus, especially if you are taking kids. Food was as expected. Steak was a little overdone and the chips do need looking at but that is not the pubs fault.

Visited for the first time since theyre refurb and its great. The decor is very nice. Lovely bird house pics, some hanging, the theme being countryside and canals. The toilets are kept very clean and fresh. The meal was wonderful. The lemon drizzle dessert was too die for - yum yum. After the meal we went into the lounge for drinks and it was so relaxing. We now hope to visit on a warmer day so that we can maybe sit outside on the decking area or the grass area below as it looked so inviting. Very reasonable price food and drinks. We will definitely be back :-)

I'm a big fan of this pub/restaurant.Meals are normally good. There's the salad bar and fizzy pop dispenser you can go back and refill for free. It's disappointing they've changed to some cheaper type of chips. No point in having a plate full of them if they're not what you like.Waiting time will vary, but the bigger your party the more chance someone will come in after you and take seats. It should be less of a problem now they've had the refit.Meals are normally a short wait for these to arrive at your table.

Have been here twice in the last month and very impressed with the new decoration. I use Harvester a lot as it's excellent value for money while being good quality too. Some of them however are better than others and this one is certainly very good! The staff were very friendly and welcoming but could have been a bit quicker to acknowledge our arrival, just a quick "someone will be with you in a tick" would solve this small oversight. I love the food, the standard fish and chips now lists they use pollock which has always been the case but I'm glad to see they're not ashamed to admit it as it's delicious and certainly better than cod but perhaps not haddock. What does often spoil my enjoyment of the food is the behaviour of some other guests who are incredibly rude and demanding and are probably the same people who have left unfair negative reviews on here. Parents keep your children quiet and don't tell them to run around, it's not a playground and it's probably best to supervise young children around the salad cart and drinks machine. Don't forget you're dining at Harvester, not the Ritz and have some degree of consideration for others! You might think your children are the most wonderful things in the world and can do whatever they like while you rudely take that REALLY important phonecall that everyone else in the restaurant has to listen to. Harvester is a value meal not 5 star dining so if you don't like it please go somewhere else, I certainly won't mind!! Oh and if you do eat, do the polite thing and leave a small tip before whizzing off with your pretentious offspring in your executive drone mobile... Your waitress probably earns a small fraction of your salary but works twice as hard, treat them as you'd like to be treated. Staff great, decor much improved, quality value food and drink but *some* very rude customers clearly angling for a freebie.

The food here is very average, exactly what you'd expect in a harvester. However, the staff do not always look completely presentable. It's very odd that many chains allow the maitre d to wear non-uniform, which I think looks rather unprofessional and a tad elitist that once you get a promotion you change attire. Some of the staff could also do with a bit more training on the new technology after the refurb.

We were surprised how busy it was and had to wait for a table but that was fine, we had a drink in the bar. Recently refurbished , more tables I think, same amount of staff. The menu whilst new offered very little change from the usual, the salad cart much the same. Fine dining this isn't but if you want a cheap burger and eat loads of salad then this is it. The staff were very pleasant but rushed off their feet, it would suggest looking at other reviews that they need to employ some more people.

I'm sad to report this visit with a group of close friends was a bit of a let down which is a shame as the place itself is very nice. The lady who showed us to our seats was very polite and courteous I thought we'd be in for a nice evening meal sadly our waitress was not at all. Completely disinterested looking an absolute state (I'm not picky but trust me this woman looked like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards) and coupled with the fact we had to ask multiple times before she sorted out even a simple request for a glass for the refillable drinks. The wait for the food was horrendously long but I can forgive a long wait for good food unfoturnely on this occasion the food left alot to be desired I had chicken which was bone dry and lukewarm (obviously been waiting on a hot plate for a while) as was my friend's rump steak. On top of this the exit between courses was huge. The only saving grace is I know this restaurant fairly well and know this is a one off and usually the service here is way better. A shame as this was the first time we'd been since the refurbishment.

We have eaten here previously and the food has always been unpredictable, sometimes good and sometimes bad. This particular visit was even worse. When my chicken fajita wrap arrived, the chicken was cold and uncooked. I sent it back and had it replaced but by then the damage was done. I started vomiting that evening and since I had eaten nothing that morning and nothing since lunch, there was no doubt what had caused it. Despite an email to Harvester, where I explained what had happened, I received a very rude email back stating it couldn't have been the food I ate at Harvester as "other people had eaten the same dish and there were no other complaints!" Bad customer service and food poisoning has made my mind up I won't be eating here again

The bell and Barge has just had a brand new makeover. The place has a more fun and exciting atmosphere now. Even the toilets have been redone. The salad bar is brilliant and you can visit it as much as you like when you buy a main meal. I particularly loved the mexican beans and the pasta. You could also get fresh bread rolls. There is also a section for croutons and sauces for your salad. They now have a choice of 30 drinks!, The drinks machine is so easy to use, it's like a tablet. You can get unlimited drinks so you can try out all the different flavours. The staff are easy to recognize now in smart jeans and very distinctive shirts and very friendly. The food was brilliant. I had the original combo and everything was cooked perfectly. My dad had a loaded burger and really enjoyed it. It was presented really nice too. I had a voucher for a free rocky road ice cream (sign up for email updates on the Harvester website. They are always sending money off vouchers and special treats) and we had the pancakes with banana aswell. Really tasty! It's so nice to see the staff so proud of the new made-over Harvester, and so they should be. I'm Really looking forward to my next meal there! Will definitely go back and I am very pleased to have this in Rugby!

Visited since the recent refurb and the looks and ambience are much improved. Visited on a busy Friday night and had a short wait in the new bar area. Food was good as usual nothing outstanding, but nevertheless nothing to complain about. Service was very friendly bordering on over friendly..... But our order was taken quickly and we were recommended some dishes which was a refreshing change from the disinterested grunts you get from staff at similar establishments occasionally. We did have a wait of around 40 minutes for our main, but as I said it was very busy. We will return again as food and drink are very reasonably priced and to a good standard. It's not going to win any awards but not a bad place for a fuss free meal and it is one of the better Harvesters I have visited. Good food and looks much better since the refurb

Eleven of us attended to celebrate the birthday of an elderly relative.Service was excellent. In fact arguably the best service I have had for one considerable time. Polite, not obtrusive but there when you needed it. Full marks . Well done.I had the Stilton mushrooms which were very good and hot. I enjoyed them. This was a Harvester, so expect the expected. Salad bar....very good " Christmas dinner"was with chicken rather than turkey . The beef dinner was very good in that the beef was cooked very well.My turkey and pulled pork burger was a poor choice. Turkey was dry and the bun was dry too. I left most of it but ate the chips. I was asked the usual question about my meal but I declined to complain. I simply picked at it and left it.Puddings were big . Overall puddings were very good if you like to "go large" so to speak. So when did "the ship hit the rocks" ?As usual something seemingly minor but a lack of attention to detail that simply takes the shine off the whole evening.View the scene.....ding ding ...last orders ladies and gentleman. My partner decides that a coffee might be a rather nice way to round off the evenings festivities. " could I have a white coffee please ?", reply..... " sorry we can't do coffees as the coffee machine has been turned off "Amazingly you could order any spirit, any lager, any beer, any wine, any soft drink......but not a coffee !Amazing isn't it ? In this country we can get alcohol but we can't get a coffee when we want one. If Americans were told this they would roll around laughing. Yup the coffee machine gets turned off for last orders ladies and gentlemen. We had just spent £270 odd and the place can't drum up (one) coffee. No kettle ?, water shortage ? Coffee weevil ?, can't be bothered ? Too much trouble ?, rules ?, initiative?.......or simply an exhibition of the British malaise of "can't do" rather than "can do". We were very content to pay the going rate for the elusive cup but no it was simply an impossibility. We laughed, got in the car went home shook our heads and had a free one.

Been here not long ago for a dinner with a friend, and wasn't overly impressed. However, saw the 'unlimited' breakfast deal and thought, 'how bad can that be?' Went here with my step-son on Saturday 9th August, as for £4.99 it looked very good value and we had to go shopping straight after. This also included the Continental options too (that we didn't have, as we preferred cooked), and for an extra £2.25 each, could also have 'unlimited' drinks, such as juices, tea, coffee and milk.Got there at 10.40am. As we thought we'd be served fairly quickly, we decided that we'd just order a modest amount of food to begin with and then if we were still hungry we could order some more, taking advantage of the 'unlimited' offer. Unfortunately, that's not how it worked out.At 11.30am we got served our breakfasts, a 50 minute wait time is unacceptable. There were people all around us getting increasingly annoyed, in fact the table behind us had been waiting over an hour, and people were going over to the hot-plate counter to complain. This was bad enough, but the coffee and juices were constantly running out and being replaced very rarely. The staff were very harassed and to be fair, they were very apologetic about the food situation and I felt bad for them, as it was obvious that the management had completely miscalculated the staffing levels required, whoever runs that place needs a boot up the backside. A shame, as when the food did eventually come it was ok...not fantastic but ok, even though they'd forgotten my step-son's tomato. Trouble is, by then not only was it practically the 'lunch-time' shift , with the juices about to be cleared away to make room, but we also didn't want to wait nearly another hour for any more food, which sort of nullifies the 'unlimited' deal along with the drinks. If they can get the staff in place, then it could be alright, but until then, with the wait time taken into account it actually becomes poor value for money, £14.48 for two average size breakfasts is not great, been better off going to a greasy spoon cafe.

First of all I'll start by saying I've eaten here a number of times over the years - usually for Birthdays, special occasions etc - and the food has always been fantastic, but the service hasn't always been 100%. That's going back a while though, and more recently the service has been great. On this visit I felt it necessary to leave a review or some feedback for the staff at the Harvester to show my appreciation. It was very busy when we entered, and were informed of a 35 minute wait to be seated - not too much of a problem, we didn't mind waiting. The actual wait was nearly double that before we were seated. We ordered immediately as we were seated because I didn't want to wait too long for our food after the long wait to be seated. While waiting for our food, the waiter came over and apologised for the wait on our food and informed us that there were 1 or 2 checks to come out of the kitchen, and then ours. I appreciated the update. Our food came a short while after and was excellent as always. Shortly after finishing our meals, we asked for the bill, and our waiter returned afterwards and informed us, to our surprise, that the management had told him that our meals were complimentary to make up for the long wait for seating + food. He apologised again for the wait, and told us that the service we had today was not of their usual standard and hope that we return in the future. We definitely will, and would recommend the Bell & Barge to anyone, the price for the food is very reasonable, great atmosphere, and the food is brilliant. The Steaks are reasonably priced and we saw that there are plenty of offers from a set menu, for those on a budget. Salad Bar is always well stocked even when busy, and although we had to wait today, the food was well worth it. I was a bit grumbly about having to wait so long, but didn't complain as I could see the staff were really busy - just goes to show how much they guys at Harvester appreciate your custom if they are to completely wipe a bill for people that didn't even complain. We really appreciated it - it's easy to go un-noticed in a restaurant that busy. We were totally surprised! Thanks! x

Went for a meal with a mate last Friday evening. I'll keep it a fairly short review so:Pros:Was handed a pager upon entry and we were seated within 20 minutes.Service was quick & friendly, at least in the restaurant part.Food was quite cheap.Salad bar was reasonably well stocked. Cons: My friend had a starter of prawn cocktail and I had the crispy king prawns. He found his prawns 'rubbery', as did I once I'd managed to pierce the armour-like outside of the fried coating. And the definition of 'King' prawn concerning size at Harvester is obviously different to my understanding.Mains for both were fairly large, but tasteless. I guess that's what you get for paying cheap?Drinks were expensive and they had no malt whiskies. We settled for Jamesons as the whisky from the huge choice of that or Bells (also used for cleaning baths, I believe ), but even that tasted strangely watery.Went up to bar to order 2nd drink, only me at the bar. 2 waitresses in front of me , both in conversation. So I stood & waited....about 4 minutes later one of them was good enough to serve me. Thanks.I think it's fair to say that I won't be returning in a hurry. Sure, I don't expect gourmet food in a place like this, but I do expect SOME sort of freshness and taste , not to mention better service in some areas.

This Harvester restaurant is particularly popular on Sunday evening. Service can be a hectic sprint rather than a relaxing stroll. Because we arrived late without a booking we naturally had to wait for a free table to be vacant. We were given a pager to notify us when a table was available (Good Idea!). This gave us enough time for a drink & a proper look at the menu in the bar area. However, the majority of the bar tables were sadly unclean, food & spilt drink stained the tables. I had to ask the bar lady for a damp cloth to clean down my own table. Looking around you could see a similar untidy mess. Still, things got better once a restaurant table was available. We were shown to our table by a friendly waitress & she took our drink order. The main food we ordered arrived promptly & was serve hot. The Salad bar was fairly well supplied for the late sitting, but not overally stocked. Certain salad dishes had run short & some were empty. What was served was fresh & very edible. The waitresses were all very polite & hard working. I've marked this restaurant down to average, mainly because of the initial bar mess & the missing fresh salad bar food & the slight error in the waitresses order towards one of our served meals. On the whole the meal was pretty good. If you don't mind fast non fancy food, this is your place.

After 15 years of my custom here I shall not be returning. My friend and I visited yesterday evening as she has recently moved to the area so it was a good chance to catch up and for her to check out somewhere local and family friendly to eat. We were shown to a table quickly and our main course was served in good time. We ordered from the "meal deal" menu, (which was thrown down on our table and not explained). Our food was good and hot so no issues there, although a long wait for desert. When we came to pay, we waited over half an hour. The salad bar was cleared and lights turned down and still no-one came. In the end we had to ask the waitress if we could pay, as she had walked past us at least 3 times without asking us if we needed anything. There were about 3 other full tables at this point so it was very quiet. The bill was incorrect and when I queried that we had been overcharged the waitress simply said oh it was 'X' who served you and the computer system generates the bill and I'm only dealing with the bill not the meals so there's nothing I can do. We were obviously disgruntled and explained to her how we felt we were overcharged and she abruptly and rudely said there's nothing I can do, that's the bill! If we knew we were going to be charged in full then we wouldn't have restricted ourselves to the limited deal menu. The waitress said if it was her serving me she would have explained our issue but it wasn't her it was 'x' so again nothing she could do now. We paid the bill in full. The waitress went away with my card for payment and when she brought it back with the receipt she abruptly put it down on the table, turned and walked away...not a word, not even a thank you. So needless to say my friend has already said she will not be taking her family there. Luckily there are a few family friendly chains in this area so it won't stop us eating out still. Just not here! Sorry to write a public review Harvester, however after reviewing on your own site privately a message popped up saying that no-one can get back to me, after me taking the time to review after a disappointing evening out. The staff have always been friendly and helpful before and quickly and fairly resolved issues if they arose. But now it appears that a little work on your customer service wouldn't go amiss!

The drinks at over £8 for a wine/soda & pint were not cheap; but were delivered to the table.Overall £32 was a fair price for the meal. The restaurant was originally meant to look rustic, but given the high volume of customers, the public areas are now looking & feeling shabby, tired and due for a refurb given the local competition. We had to wait a while for a table - it was incredibly busy but the staff were calm. A bit of a mix up with what arrived at the table and our waiter was v apologetic.... as I said to him you only deliver it not cook the orders. It wasn't the end of the world and blimey we were offered free puds. I guess i do look horribly severe because i have white hair and wrinkles. Ermm I don't mean to be frightening For someone who has only worked in this environment for two weeks he was brilliant - Harry has excellent customer facing skills WD Harry. The lovely Sara was there and I love her to bits in real life and she is a marvel to watch at work. So Harry and Ms Stallard - u are real assets to the company.PS Sara Crutch boy was shattered when we got home and that was a 2 hour outing!!!

Thank God that I didn't read the reviews on here before I went otherwise I would have gone elsewhere. Some people need to get out more.Myself & the Veggie went here on a busy Saturday night. We have never been here before despite living in Rugby but we only came to the area two years ago.Parking was ample. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.I asked for a table for two at the bat and the old lady behind the bar pointed to a table and said you need to wait down there and get a pager? WFT?? I have not been here before so not use to their system I was a bit puzzled.I went to the waiting area and was handed a buzzer thingy.Walked back to the bar and the lady had finished pouring my drink. I opened a tab using my card and I was quickly shown to a table. I just don't get the buzzer thing sorry. It wasn't until we sat down that we actually realised how busy the place was. The pleasant and helpful young waitress soon came and explained everything to us.I had two trips up to the salad bar before my mixed grill arrived. The salad was nice and fresh and the dips and sauces were very tasty. The Veggie had a veggie burger and she had no complaints. We finished off the night with a chocolate ice cream that was massive and so big we had to share it. Yummy. We didn't have to wait that long for the mains despite not having a starter.I love to watch people when I go out and I noticed how hard these members of staff worked. They were quickly serving meals, getting drinks, sorting out bills and preparing tables ready for the next person. They have their work cut out as some people allow their kids to eat like animals and let them drop food all over the place. They had to sweep the carpet after one family had left. I imagine that incidents like that extend waiting times and have a knock on effect throughout. It's not the Ritz so don't expect anymore than a good old British traditional food chain type restaurant that is inexpensive and popular with locals as well as Premier Inn guests. The Veggie & I gave a honest 8/10 and will return. We had drinks with our meal and the bill was £29 for the two of us. Not bad.See you again.

pre-booked table for 5 using set Boxing Day Menu.took ages for someone to come and ask us if we wanted drinksrequested one chicken roast with no gravy, and got it with gravyrequested extra vegetarian gravy for the veggie option and didn't get it (described in menu as "lashings of gravy" yet had an expresso cup sized jug)deep fried prawn found posing as a roast potato on my wife's dinner. "i'm sorry" is all that was said to us - (good job my wife doesn't have a major food allergy)vegetables not cooked, just shown boiling waterall in all, very poor and overpriced for what it was. Service was absymal. didn't seem to be enough staff on. going downhill fast this place.

Take Notice.. Burgers were possibly smaller than McDonald's, thin and tasted plain. Handful of chips. Coffee, tried all types and all tasted horrid. Never again. Will return for beer but not food..
