Went for dinner on Saturday night and it was absolutely brilliant. Great food, great service and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend it and will be back

Great service "Libby" a special stand out just makes you smile with her friendly approach. Good excellent, I have been over in the UK traveling around as I live in the Far East and had numerous lunches out in the last 6 weeks. This stands out as the best by far price wise especially off the luncheon menu very reasonable, don't forget to spoil yourself with a desert.

Excellent Meals , fairly priced in a very nice atmosphere with attentive staff. Set in a nice location.

Ordered a mixed grill which came with a beautiful selection including sausage, gammon steak, lamb steak, kidney, liver, fried egg, onion rings chips and peas. Absolutely beautiful food and brilliant service. Outdoor seating was lovely with beautiful hanging baskets.

Para ser justos, el personal hizo bien su trabajo y fue atento, pero la comida estaba bien, estaba caliente, que era bueno, pero eso fue todo, las patatas definitivamente se ha vuelto a calentar. No volveremos ya que esperábamos más por el precio.

Always a firm favourite of mine for a nice pint in the countryside. A little while since I've eaten here, but when I have, the food has always been the highest quality. One hell of a place to visit.

No he estado en El Faisán durante muchos años, así que una visita estaba muy retrasada. Recibido por una señora en la parte delantera de la casa que nos ofreció una selección de mesas y dijo que ella estaría por encima con menús y para tomar nuestro pedido de bebidas. Su manera amable fue respaldada por un servicio excepcional. El menú era extenso y estaba apoyado por un menú más pequeño del día, así como tableros especiales. Nos ofrecieron una alternativa a las patatas fritas, es decir, asado, puré o patatas nuevas. La comida fue servida rápidamente y era excelente con porciones de tamaño decente. Esperamos volver a visitarlo pronto.

My new favourite place! Within the last month at least four visits made! I can recommend eating off the specials board, the main menu and the Sunday lunch! Whatever they are doing there please keep it up as you just have it! Don’t change a single thing!!

We booked in last minute with no issues. We had to wait around 35 minutes for our 2 meals and this was apparently due to a large group ordering just before us, it would have been better if someone had advised us of the delay rather than me having to ask how much longer was the wait. The food was faultless, served piping hot and very tasty. The run of the mill lager is very expensive at £5 a pint though, thats more like premium lager prices in our local, just something to keep in mind as our 3 drinks and 2 meals came to over £50.

Lovely country pub by the side of a stream, not been there for about 35 years , went last night with some friends and we weren't disappointed the food was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly, lovely evening certainly be going back again soon.

A beautiful country pub / restaurant. Great choice of food.. We all enjoyed a starter and main 4 clear plates. Polite friendly staff. We will be back.

Had a wonderful lunch there..home cooked ham two fried eggs exactly as I requested..very hot chips and peas..one of their many lunch time specials...very reasonably priced . This must be one of the best kept pubs in UK in a beautiful award winning village. Fresh carnations at every table..plants on all the window sills and although a traditional pub with oak beams and a fireplace . ...it was light ...airy ..lots of windows and the service was quick friendly and hospitable. The host was there when we were leaving and anxious to know if we enjoyed our meals. I seldom leave a review but always read them ..but wanted to let other readers know I and companion heartily recommend The Pheasant for ambience food and service.

Arrived. Sign outside (wrote in crayola *classy*) no hats. No vests. Odd. But ok. (I'm a rocker, we live in caps and band vests) Decided it was a silly rule. Kept my cap on. Got told immediately to remove it. Being a nice rocker. I did so after being told. However. How is it possible that 5 gippo looking chavs in tracksuits can wander in straight after. Shouting across tables and swigging beer be deemed more acceptable than my wearing a cap?! On top of that, the owner of the pub walks in towards the end of the meal. White shirt unbuttoned to the point his nipples are nearly out. Full on 80s Bush hanging out, gold chain (1970s peado lookalike vibes) handing out jars of sweets to kids eating meals. He wants it to be upend. How about making people comfortable. I'm less intimidating in a baseball cap and band shirt than 5 gobby chavs in trackies and a old man in a gold chain. Won't return

Been going here for years love the place. Bit old fashioned but god the food is great big portions. Highly recommend it honestly try Friday night little quieter

Lovely traditional pub with good atmosphere. Food average to good. Service was excellent.

Pricy and food was basic pub. Service was slow and landlord creeped us out.

This is our second visit and once more we weren't disappointed. The staff are attentive and helpful, the food superb including portion size, and the general atmosphere is friendly and inviting. We will definitely be calling again when in the area, one of our best 'accidental' finds... excellent all round.

This is a very good place to have any meal of the day. I have had lunch on several occasions, having different items from their extensive menu. No problem from any of the selections. The bill is always justified by the excellent quality of the food. I will be back again in the near future.

The staff were young and all very helpful. However, the food was frozen, reheated and tasteless. I would not recommend. Very poor experience for the money. The meals we had were fish pie, Sunday roast pork and stir fried beef and we all thought the same. We will not be returning.

Friendly staff, nice food but a little dated

had a lovely capuccino sitting by the brook to break up my bike ride through some lovely villages. Staff were really pleasant and delicious drink ... although for £2.75 I missed the biscuit to go with it.

Great pub calm and collective to bring mother in. Whenever we go for walks up the common she always asks if we can have tea here.

Lovely country pub/restaurant, owner and staff were very friendly and attentive, they do have some rules regarding attire as in no baseball caps ,sleeveless tops ( on men for some reason) etc. But food was delicious, no complaints here.

This is our favourite local eating place and never fails to disappoint. The service is always efficient and friendly and the chefs clearly take great pride in what they do as the food is always excellent. Look forward to our next visit .

We went to the pheasant on Sunday day for my uncles 70th birthday seven of us . The waitresses and serving staff were very friendly and helpful however the owner was very rude wandering around not really doing anything other than making the staff feel uncomfortable. He came to our table once and that was to tell my uncle that he couldn't wear a cap in his restaurant. This was done in front of the whole restaurant instead of quietly and discreetly telling my uncle privately and professionally. The manager needs to learn some manners it was quite ironic that all his staff wore smart uniform snd he was telling people what they couldn't wear as he was the scruffiest person in the whole pub dirty heads scruffy polo shirt hanging out at the back and dirty trainers. What a disgrace for someone who had just humiliated a customer who incidentally was to go on and pay his staff over £200 for our bill. Which leads me on to some pretty standard food . The owner would be better off getting rid of his microwaves I'm kitchen and getting in there and cooking some properly cooked food . All the veg was undercooked the desserts are microwaved the meat on Sunday lunch is processed packet slices . Not one person in this establishment came and asked if everything was OK not once an owner wandering around criticising caps wow! The rudist owner I have ever met don't go here rude overpriced microwaved rubbish !!

Mixed grill was average, liver and kidney poor. Lamb chop tasteless, should cut down quantity and improve quality.

First visit to this bird, we thoroughly enjoyed our food, both had a super steak, service and staff I found really good and friendly. Enjoyed my visit that much I had pudding for the first time in 10years, custard was warm and yellow. Great.

We had to change plans at the last minute for a farewell dinner for a visiting guest, so we phoned the Pheasant up a couple of hours before to book a table for 6 & they could accommodate us which was good. There is a good size car park, on entering we received a warm welcome & we’re shown to our table & everywhere looked clean & tidy & there were a few people eating even though it was only 6:30. A waitress then came & took our drinks order from us which she then delivered followed by taking our food order, the menu hasn’t changed much over the years & is traditional English pub grub. The food arrived after a suitable time & was well presented & good size portions, the only negative point was I asked for mine without peas & salad but it came with it. They also checked on us during the meal for drinks & if the food was good. All the party I was with enjoyed their meals & the hospitality we were given there. On leaving the owner thanked us for coming & the staff all said goodbye to us which was nice.

Superb traditional family run Pub. Very wholesome meals, a varied menu, great beer and a lovely setting. Service is outstanding and very child friendly. 👏

It was almost 12 months ago that we last visited when 7 of us visited for my 80th. Yesterday there just 4 of us for a small anniversary celebration & our experience was just as good. Although there was a lunch special option plus a specials board we were surprised that the full menu was available. 2 had sea bass 1 had steak & 1 chicken. How was the food? It was very tasteful with generous portions. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Prices may have risen a bit but we all face that on our shopping bill plus the heating was on all the time, yet another expense. We sat in the bar area this time so I was able to view the comprehensive choice of real ales & our choice & quality did not disappoint. I have rambled on a bit but thankyou again to a member of staff who rang to warn that the main road into the village was temporarily closed so we were able to plan our diversion

Excellent Sunday afternoon lunch with the family.

Food, Briiliant. Nice portions, tasty and hot. Staff very attentive. Only fault: The tables are way too close together. It's difficult not to look at others on another table. It's not really child friendly due to the tables being too close together. Not enough space I would say for a highchair. Let too smashed personally. The staff were struggling to serve between the tables which must be a bit uncomfortable for them also. We won't be returning for that reason. I felt too squashed.

Very friendly and helpful staff, always. Food is always amazing, homecooked, fresh and large portions, which I can never finish. Doggy bag in tow! It doesn't bother me, as I am confident, and it's no reflection on the staff, but every time I looked up somebody (as in other guests, and it varied from table to table) was staring at our table, and some of my party found it uncomfortable. We obviously all looked like aliens!?!?!?

This was our first visit. I was nearly put off by some bad reviews on here,but so glad we gave it a try.Personally,we are sick of having meals out ruined by young kids whose parents don't teach them any good manners,so those reviews actually swung it for us! The surroundings are very cosy and traditional.The staff were friendly and efficient.The range of veggie/vegan options is exceptional.It is so nice not finding just standard veggie burgers on offer. Also,getting home cooked meals complete with fresh vegetables is a treat these days.All 3 of us really loved our food.Generous portions,flavoursome and hot. Do leave room for a pudding,they are lovely.

Having been before and enjoyed the food, we were very disappointed today. I had the chicken and ham pie the only thing good to say was the puff pastry was nice. It looked like chicken thigh was used and the pieces were in chunks with gristly chewy bits. The ham was chewy the vegetables were hard and all swimming in gravy which also wasn't great. Such poor quality food. When asked we told them what we thought but no apology or offer of an alternative. In fact we were told no one else had complained which I find hard to believe. On a positive note the beer and wine were good. Sadly we won't be going back.

My partner and I had been having Sunday lunch here for about three years. There had been a couple of occasions beforehand when the manager had spoken rudely to us, but the last time was absolutely appalling. I had ordered a chicken curry. When it came it did not look at all appetising and when I attempted to eat it, I found it diabolical. The curry had big lumps of carrots and whole mushrooms, etc in it, with strips of"rubber" chicken. It looked like a stew and tasted awful. Frozen peas had been scattered over the plate, only the chips were edible. The manager was exceedingly RUDE when we pointed out how bad the food was, there was no apology, no offer of a replacement and certainly no reimbursement. And, to add insult to injury, one of the managers cronies accosted me on the way.out and told me that I "must have a delicate pallette" because there was "nothing wrong with Derek's food". He informed me that he had "been coming here for Derek's food for twenty years" which I found surprising because the current owner has only been there for 14/15 years. The whole experience was totally humiliating and DISTRESSING..... My advice.... don't go there!!!

we enjoyed delicious meals with friends last night.we all enjoyed our meals all the staff were very friendly the manager was very welcoming and very nice the restaurant is lovely and everything spotless .we had a very pleasant evening and look forward to our next visit.

We arrived for a Sunday meal, had a nice tasting but woefully presented starter of Camembert and torpedo King prawns. One of our mains were delivered to the wrong table, where the innocent guest had already seasoned and started to cut the food up. The wait staff felt it was appropriate to take take that meal off the wrong lady, walk out of sight for 2 seconds and bring it back. When I challenged her, knowing A) my partner doesn't like pepper and B) shw doesn't like paying for food other people have started to eat she admitted what she had done. It was then taken back and a new one made which in all truth we should have just left and gone elsewhere. The food was all bought in, heated up fare, nothing tasted homemade. The meat felt/tasted like boil in the bag beef/turkey. The roast potatoes & Yorkies were 100% frozen ones with the gravy thin and tasteless. The manager spent most of our time there sat on a stool chewing on his fingers, then bringing out food. Won't be going back.

I would give it no stars but it wont let you, the staff lovely but the owner well that's a different matter, I had a lamb shank which was really hard and inedible ,i complained nicely but was told that's how a lamb shank is cooked, I have had a few lamb shanks which i enjoy but was told he measured what was left(what)and there was nothing wrong with it, so he said nock a £5 off it, what an owner, shame as the staff were nice,what a shame

I visited this restaurant with my mum, we were lucky enough to win a meal for two that the pub had kindly donated to a fundraiser. We visited on a Friday lunchtime and the service was excellent. Portions were very generous, we had ham hock terrine starter followed by blade of beef. I can’t really express how incredible the blade of beef was, I’m still reminiscing about it 2 weeks later. I will definitely be back.

I had to leave the meal earlier than expected as I felt extremely uncomfortable with how the owner was speaking to some of our family members.. such a shame as we have never experienced anything like this before.

Only giving 2 stars because the staff were very polite, the owner was so rude to everyone especially the children. We said we were hungry and asked how long the food would be, to be told that it was our fault that the food was taking so long as we didn’t order in the time frame he wanted. We spent nearly £500 to have constant snarky comments about two toddlers making the slightest bit of noise. Food was completely average also and overpriced for the standard it was, we won’t be returning any time soon.

Had not visited for a long time, used to go regularly years ago and enjoyed the food and sitting outside with a drink. Really dissapointing meal this time, my sons meal was inedible due to the gravy which he poured over his whole meal without tasting it first. it was awful, I have no idea what is was but it wasn't real meat gravy and I've never tasted an instant gravy like that before. My wife's duck rolls were tiny and bland, the sort of thing you get at Iceland. For the relatively high prices I would expect better quality, maybe we picked the wrong dishes as other diners seemed happy. Also what's with all the 'rules' on printed sheets both outside and inside, it doesn't create a welcoming impression and gave me a negative vibe as soon as I entered.

Mediocre food and obnoxious owner.

Extremely rude behaviour from the manager regarding trying to put down an umbrella down in the garden as we wanted the last bit of sun. Was lectured about how much they cost but more to the point the long loud sigh and tut was not acceptable!! Will we come back absolutely not!!

Has to be one of the best restaurants within a 20 mile radius of Coventry. The food is excellent, service is great and the staff and owner really friendly and make you feel welcome.
