Very impressive set up the food was exceptional and the service was the same we will be back

I really liked this pub on previous visits but the food this time was below the usual standard. The chicken pie had to be sent back as it was still cold inside all though the dish and the pastry was extremely hot. The replacement was so hot the gravy was bubbling. The rice on another dish was hard and in lumps. Obviously over cooked. The manager was very good about it and gave a discount on the full meal. I would say it was not the usual chef. Going again in a few weeks so watch this space.

Came here in August and had a 10/10 Sunday roast , Came today and had one of the worst I've had in a longtime , new chef spells disaster unless something gets done unfortunately. Cannot fault the apologetic staff and full refund from the owner, the beer was great. Hoping they can turn this around as I always enjoyed eating here previously.

We had a lovely family meal in a private dining area. Staff were very attentive with good wholesome pub food. Vegetables were great.

My first visit to the Green man was a pleasant experience , after being told about it by a family member so thought I would try it for myself , 5 of us visited on a friday evening including the family member that had recommended it , despite the restaurant being busy , always a good indication of how good a restaurant is in my books , the service was impeccable very attentive and the food arrived promptly soon after we had ordered , which was all cooked perfectly , highly recommend the mixed grill which I had , no complaints from any of our party , and very reasonably priced also each of us paying around £26 each this included a pint each and a bottle of wine with the two steak meals deal ,will definitely be returning in the near future , all in all a very pleasant evening at the Green man .

The food was pretty good, however the service was rather slow. Also, unfortunately for us, there were some rowdy folk in while we were trying to enjoy our Sunday lunch - but this was tolerated by the staff and perhaps was normal behaviour for the Green Man? The prices were pitched too high for this type of place.

People had told us this was a pub to visit. We went for an evening meal. The food was OK, normal pub menu, no specials. Quite busy no set aside actual restaurant I could see so we were seated next to the bar. Service was quite quick. A bit of a disappointment really although there was nothing wrong with the food.

Went for sunday lunch,first time visiting the pub. Staff,service & food was very good,definately be going back.

We were a large party so had to be on 2 tables but the food looked great and tasted delicious. Lovely prawn cocktail and massive plate of venison casserole with perfect mash.

Was visiting from London. Atmosphere was lovely. Food was really nice and was quite cheap. Would definitely go back

I haven’t visited for a long time but they have a new chef or new ownership or something so we went. It was excellent the food was freshly cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and kind. Car parking was easy.

Been out for lunch few days ago. I had a chicken tikka ciabatta served witch amazing home made chips and coleslaw. There was loads of filling in a sandwich. I struggle to finish it😂 My other half had a chicken and leek pie which was delicious and portion was big too. We will go back soon. Highly recommend the place

We had a brilliant festive time at the Green Man yesterday for our family Christmas meal. We were a large party of 8 adults, 3 children and a dog. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and it was lovely to have the back room all to ourselves as we can get quite noisy when we all get together. The room was lovely with its decorations and Christmas tree, and the table looked really Christmassy with candles, table decorations and crackers. Everyone said how delicious the food was and how much there was of it. It was piping hot and came with all the trimmings. The desserts didn't disappoint either - big portions and delicious. To finish off we were served with mince pies! Thank you to everyone at the Green Man for making it a very special occasion for me and my family - we'll be back!

Great food, reasonable prices and generous portions. Large car park too and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I visited for lunch with friends and we have decided to use this place every time we meet up. Lots of locals use this place too which is always a good sign. Also very dog friendly (in the car) with even some dog treats provided.

Just had a lovely evening celebrating the start of Christmas with 11 friends at the green Man food was a fantastic.

Lovely little pub. Been twice this month as the steak was so lovely. Me and hubby had the steak and wine deal, 2 steaks and a bottle of wine £ 36. Steak was lovely, stilton sauce as an extra was lovely. Would highly recommend. Staff very friendly. My only one complaint was the choice of puddings......4 x chocolate choices not a big chocolate pudding fan, a nice lemon or cherry option would have been good. In the end so full up we didn't do a pudding anyway.....just a bit of constructive criticism.

Honestly one of the best Sunday Roasts going around Rugby to date! Partners burger was amazing too! It's been a good handful of years since I last went here but definitely going to be back!

Busy little pub in Dunchurch with a great atmosphere - I particularly like the beer garden which is situated behind the pub in a large area with lots of tables. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the village.

Only went in for a drink but felt at home great atmosphere great service loved the beer garden 👌.

Fabulous food! Now my preferred place to eat in Dunchurch. Pub needs a bit of tlc but with more customers that's possible one day I'm sure. We'll definitely be back!

An impromptu lunch, we had chicken and leek pie served with chips and nicely cooked carrots and peas. Quite filling and satisfying, would happily have the same meal on another visit.

Horrendous room! It was so damp and musty- the carpet, the bedding. Water seeped out when you stood on the bathroom tiles. The smell was awful due to how damp the room was.

Awful Sunday dinner for 7. Meat horrendously chewy -inedible for at least one of us. Yorkshire puddings overdone with an aftertaste of old cooking oil. Cauliflower cheese was like it had been blended. Just awful. Never again. Would not recommend.

Awful basically sums up the meal we had today. Table of 7 for Sunday lunch. The presentation was ok and the kitchen had done their best to make it look ‘cheffy’ Beef was awfully tough and hard to eat (some of us couldn’t). Yorkshires over done and tasted of a hint of old cooking oil. I’m not sure how I could explain the balls of stuffing. I’ve not seen or tasted anything like them before. The cauliflower cheese was the worst I’ve ever had - it was like it had been put in a blender. My 80 year old Mother told the staff it was the worst meal she had ever experienced. Hopefully this was a one off for the pub but we won’t be going back.

Family visit for Sunday lunch and not disappointed. The prawn cocktail starters were amongst the best we have ever had. Good size prawns with fresh crunchy salad and a pleasant dressing. Ended up sharing one! Then came the roasts, some 2 meat rib of beef and chicken, some just beef or chicken. Gammon also available. Beautifully presented, large portions topped with parsnip strips, with roast and new potatoes, cabbage laced with bacon, fresh mashed swede, cheesed cauliflower and of course a large yorkshire! Nice touch of extra gravy jug with each plate. Wow took some eating and delicious. Service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. Good selection of beers on tap. Clean fresh gents! Plenty of on site parking. Lacking a little in ambience but a great pub with obviously an excellent chef, we will revisit.

Booked in for lunch after reviewing on line menu. Pub is a good traditional pub and was warm and inviting. Food was freshly cooked with a good selection to chose from! Prices were very good compared to most pubs these days! Bar staff were all welcoming and quick to serve! Will be back!

Wedding complain because didn't want to cause a scene.. but it was the worst food I have ever been served in a pub.. definitely enjoy be returning.

Went here to celebrate a couple of birthdays, hadn't been in years, it's still really friendly and good beer and food. Had the two steaks and a bottle of wine (for for £30 I think)

We like this place ... very much. Been several times recently - friendly, helpful, obliging staff - makes such a difference. Log fire burning creates a lovely atmosphere to sit and chat with friends over a drink before our food is served on HOT plates and always piping hot - what's not to rave about. Service with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. If there's something included in your choice which you can't eat ... no problem - we've always been offered something else to replace whatever is removed. Bonus for ladies with a small appetite - order a 'small plate'. Told so many friends and have visited with so many friends ... all say the same. Whether eating off their main menu or their Sunday lunch you won't be disappointed.

I have dined at The Green Man several times and never disserpointed. Jack is the talented chef, producing freshly cooked home made dishes. Since the new owner came Jack has more of a free reighn and promotes weekly specials on Facebook. I enjoyed chicken supreme this week. Jucey chicken full of flavour sided with roast sweet carrots and an amazing Dauphinoise & stunning home made gravy. . An added pleasure of coming here is the team. Extremly proffessional headed by Jo the manager. Always welcoming and a joy to chat to. The owner must look after these guys as a good team is hard and rare to get. Maybe a percentage bonus scheme on profit! Sunday lunches are THE best with the most delicious home made gravy. Definately you must go.

It has a relatively cosy indoors and ample size outdoor in the garden. Food was ok from what I remember but it has been a while since I've eaten there. The play area could do with a revamp however overall generally is a decent pub to visit even with the family

Had Sunday lunch here as a family of 8. Food proportions were generous with ample meat, veg and gravy. I had beef and gammon: gammon succulent but beef a little chewy - would have benefited from being sliced a bit thinner. Service friendly if a little slow at times. Good selection of beers and other drinks. Sat outside in their large and pleasant garden area. Overall good value for money and we shall return. Return visit June '22. Food again very good but service still on the slow side. They'll get 5* when that improves! Excellent choice of real ales.

This is place by far is the best in this town for food...we have visited the green man now at least five times for evening meals and Sunday lunch...simply under new ownership it has raised its profile in my opinion ..the bar staff are fantastic and really polite and always happy and have a warm smile when you enter ...Steve has done a excellent job bringing a great crew together...and the young chef is.well.what can I say always on point with his food ..great future for him ..thanks again guy's..I don't need to travel far now to get the same quality...all the best steve 👍... and shaz..👏👏👏👏

Oh dear. 50 quid gets you the following - Cracked mirror, wall plaster cracked, room stank of mold/damp combined with the lungs of someone who smokes 80 a day, single dangling bulb for a light, non-mixer taps in the bog (hello 80's) Nasty soiled chair, springy coil mattress (ouch) lethal shower (incredibly slippery bathrub) bathroom vent blocked with filth/dust, worn out and tired decor, grubby, filthy sash window, 20+ year old pillows, paper thin walls, loud drunken noise / music and cig smoke wafts right into the room from the bar/door below through the drafty window till 11.30, a loud earthquake sounding compressor that runs for 5 minutes 3-4 times an hour (bring ear plugs) breakfast is not included (website misleading about this) Overall cheap, mean, nasty, noisy, unwelcoming. Just don't - I've made the £100 mistake so you don't have to.

Four of us had steaks. One rump, one sirloin, two fillets. All overcooked. Will have to think hard before going back. Always ok before.

Nice pub caters for sports fans with big TV'S accepts well behaved dogs. Family friendly. Only an average selection of beers though but I have only limited experience in this pub. They may have more choice in winter.

Was not sure what to expect from The Green Man but now cannot wait to go back for more food!The carbonara is beautiful, and such a good size portion. Ordered a side of chips/cheesy chips but we were so full (even the sides of chips are huge portions)!Pie looked great and the burger looked really impressive Tables thoroughly cleaned between guests and servers were knowledgeable and friendly! All had a great meal and can't wait to go back!

Excellent food experience, two quality steak dinners AND bottle of wine. Cooked exactly as requested in good time. Lovely atmosphere and garden. Served during COVID restrictions expertly by William and Anna. Most definitely will go back.

Saturday night steak deal was fantastic..

A great bar to visit if you're looking for a place to watch sports whilst you have a good quality beer. The food here is reasonably priced with friendly bar staff and a great atmosphere. One negative point is that the drainage smells at times when sitting outside.

Went here for lunch, wasn’t sure if had to book due to Covid so messages them and said just drop in, and wow what a pleasant surprise I had! Absolutely gorgeous roast for a bargain price I would of paid more for it to be honest staff very attentive, Covid measures in place lovely friendly atmosphere will be back in the future, very impressed

Fabulous. Lovely, small pub in the centre of a pretty village. We chose the pub purely at random; we needed food, it was open. Place was very busy for a Thursday night, with almost all tables in use. Staff quickly came and took a drinks order and returned with one of the best pints of beer I've had in a very long time. The pub was (is?) doing a terrific deal on steak meals so we ordered two sirloin and chips meals, one rare, one medium rare. They arrived and were perfect. Normally, we receive identical steaks, either both rare or both pretty overcooked but these really were bang on the money. And they came with triple cooked chips. It really is one of the best meals we've had in a pub. It's Saturday morning as I write this and I'm salivating at the thought of the food. Nice service, good beer and excellent food. What's not to like?

Have been here a few times for a meal now. They do a deal for 2 steak meals and a bottle of wine for between £20-£25 depending on choice of steak. Due to the really cheap price, I wasn't expecting much to be honest.However, I was very pleasantly surprised, the steak was really good quality and cooked to perfection. It came with chips, onion rings, salad and mushrooms, again very good quality, and portions so large I couldn't eat it all. The wine was actually very drrinkable too.If you want a good quality steak meal at a bargin price, I would definitely recommend the Green Man.
