Steph and AJ have done a great job taking over the pub! Really friendly and they serve great pint of guinness. We had the Sunday carvery which was delicious and there was so much of it! The atmosphere in the pub is spot on!

I am totally disgusted by the new landlady, she has a foul mouth and her behaviour is not welcoming like the previous owners. I will never set foot in this place while Brenda is running it.

This pub does NOT do food! Although I was able to make an online reservation for lunch, on arrival a very frustrated current owner had to tell my group and another couple that the pub has not provided any type of food since he took over as landlord. The online booking system has been left open by the previous owner and is, apparently, happy to let unsuspecting customers book a table for food that doesn't exist.

I've visited this place today with my friend lured by pictures of nice food on Google. We sat down at the table and started to look for a menu online. Shortly a staff member came to us, to let us know they stopped doing food 3 years ago and we shouldn't believe that's out there on Google. I understand they stopped doing food service, but he was rude and we didn't feel welcome at all. Toilets were stinky..

We went out for a spot of lunch on a Saturday afternoon we went to our normal go to pub but found this was closed so googled the area and came up with this so thought we would give it a go we drove into the car park which wasn't the busiest but thought we would give it a try as we were there, as soon as we entered there were a few people in the bar and we were met with a very warm welcome from the bar staff we were seated and ordered food , we ordered wings and creamed mushrooms for start then gammon egg and pineapple for main , to say the least the portions were good gammon massive and the chips top notch. Overall a very pleasant experience and great value, thank you 👍

I booked a party to celebrate my daughter's baptism at Blacksmith Arms. From the moment I enquired, until we left the pub after the event, all I received was a fantastic five star service! Ian, the pub manager, let me set up the room the night before - which ensured everything was how I would like it for the day. Additionally, he catered to all of my needs and requests for food, ensuring there was an excellent spread and variety of food that met the needs of anyone with allergies also. Ian and Chris' idea of a buffet ensures that no guest will go hungry! He truly does put on an excellent buffet. Chris Seale, the chef, is absolutely fabulous. He is so professional and his food is excellent. The guests raved about his chicken bites, wedges and sausage rolls in particular but it was all so lovely. People even wanted to take some of the left over food home for their families it was that good! Chris went above and beyond to help me on the day and the night before - when he helped me set up the room. I cannot thank him enough. Simon, who was there on the day, was so friendly, polite and hardworking. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He put myself and all the guests at ease. Agian, thank you Simon. The staff even did a raffle where the money raised went to my daughter. How special and kind that thought was and something I could never forget. Whether you are after a quick drink, some food or an event, I would not hesitate to recommend you use the Blacksmith Arms. A truly five star experience!

I was one of the forty guests at the buffet to celebrate the christening of my great great niece. I am not from Rugby area and had never been to this Pub before. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. There were ample staff - so no waiting to be served. The buffet food had an excellent selection of hot and cold food. There was sufficient variety to suit all tastes. It is a comfortable, friendly place to eat and socialise. Thank you to the staff for their .

There is obviously new management here since our last visit a couple of years ago. We dropped in today and was amazed at the difference. From first contact with the lovely lady behind the bar and throughout our visit, the service was friendly, welcoming and very attentive. Hats off to Ian, who seemed to be rushing around, doing the job of many, he smashed it with a constant smile. Courses ran smoothly, no long wait in between. Can't fault the food, service or location. Very pleasant experience all round.

Fantastic Sunday dinner. Large portion for the price! Really friendly landlord, genuinely welcoming atmosphere. First visit here won't be our last!

Met up with my parents for the first time here last night. The Blacksmiths is about halfway between our two homes. My partner loved the Ham egg and Chips. Best pub food he’s had in a long time and I agree. The fish and chips were yummy. Ian was a great host and gave us a table for 4 in a small area of the pub where we had the room to ourselves. Definitely will be coming back as we all enjoyed our meals and the friendly service. Highly Recommend.

Visited the Blacksmiths Arms at Ryton for the first time today. Pub was lovely and cosy with fires burning and very busy. Had booked a table and had a little while to wait for our food to arrive as there was a large party ahead of us, When the food came it was well worth the wait. The three of us had beef with all the trimmings including pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. The food was piping hot and the staff who served us were very attentive and really welcoming. Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch and we will definitely return!

Skál!! We had the pleasure of accepting the hospitality of this gods blessed innkeep on our scouting excursion to Coventry for supplies. Weary and in need of sustenance we stumbled into this little haven from the elements (it was drizzly). Expecting a welcome of sheer surprise, instead we received such warmth and welcome from all the staff, especially the manager who was amazingly attentive to our needs. We drank, we broke bread, we drank some more and then interacted with a few of the locals. Our stay was briefer than we would like but was truly an excellent, highly recommended place to repast! This was a really only pub with great staff, a pod selection of drinks and a friendly atmosphere. My only alight gripe was there wasn't many vegetarian options for food, but the burger I had was really tasty!

Nice pub, comfortable and very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and allows dogs which is super! Food is well priced, standard style pub food with a pizza menu and great pudding menu. However the service was very slow and needs improvement. The food was left under the lights too long and went dry. However will definitely be back and give it a few more goes with it being our local. They have a pub quiz which is great but they need to improve the sound quality to make it a more enjoyable experience as it's hard to hear the quiz master.

Absolutely wonderful place with the warmest of welcomes. The landlord and staff couldn't have done more. the food is absolutely delicious, amazing value for money and I just wish we lived closer to visit again! Definitely going to try to get back though! On of the best pubs we've been too!

Visited the pub for the first time with a party of nine. First thing which hits you is the friendly atmosphere the pub has as you walk in. A real mixture of locals and first timers. The pub area had a open fire and it appeared that dogs were allowed to sit in the bar area. We were allocated a large table to the rear of the premises. Between the nine of us we had a mixture of pizza, burgers and fish and chips. The manager accommodated us for items which weren't even on the menu, making a trip to the local co-op to assist us. I would have no problem recommending this pub for a dinner and a couple of pints, if I ever find myself back in Ryton I will most definitely be back.

This pub, tucked away in Ryton was a great find. The food was good pub grub excellently cooked. The burger was delicious as was the fish snd chips. We were a group of 10 and the staff and manager looked after us expertly. They were attentive without being intrusive. Having just spent two weeks in Ryton I'm sad I didn't find this place before. Arrived at 3pm, order taken at 3:05pm, food served at 4:30pm and the place was empty - god only knows what it would be like if it was busy. Our food was about to be served and was then told they'd run out of beef. Girl took the order in full when we arrived including orders for desserts. After we'd had our mains she came back asking if we wanted dessert.... Overheard staff in kitchen shouting about the cauliflower cheese sauce had run out, so saw staff running back into the kitchen with a sachet of colemans cheese sauce. Chef was bringing the food to the table so I guess they were short staffed as well. The owner is nice but cannot make up for dreadful service. Food was so so. Also not entirely the fault of the pub, but the conservatory doors are left open with people smoking cigarettes just outside the doors. So a lovely waft of cigarette smoke permeates into to the restaurant.

Sunday dinner yesterday at the blacksmiths arms Ryton on dunsmore nice little traditional pub. Mum had the traditional roast beef which was cooked perfect because the meat just fell apart And I had not a roast but a pizza which was made and cooked to perfection lovely thin base and a nice crunchy crust. And the staff were very friendly

Should have left when presented with the menu. There was more crossed out than available, ordered drinks. Prosecco came in an ice bucket, left on the table had to open it ourselves. Service was terrible, couple complaining at only other occupied table. Next table had not been cleared. Dog kept coming in from outside and sniffing around before someone shouting for it. We were hungry so ate the food that came and it was horrendous. Asked if something had happened to the management, obviously it must have changed since our previous visits. A good village pub that needs sorting out. Need to get indigestion medication. Young lad who took money, was polite. Will never go back

The food was really good and cooked by people who obviously cared. I’d encourage people to give this a try, cos on a Saturday night it was worryingly quiet and therefore being missed by loads of people. Prices were fair and staff friendly.

Staff argument. Really loud music 3 times because someone in the kitchen wanted to listen to it. Husband turned it down the last time and whole place cheered cold food, warm champagne. Long long long waits between everything ie ordering a drink and getting one. Daughter has onion allergy asked for hot dog without onions came with, didn't charge us. Kids meal chicken tenders so spicy. Didn't charge. Staff friendly especially boss.

Wonderful village pub with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Part of the community with a great marquee for footie fans and very generous American influenced food. Huge pizzas, burgers and fried chicken strips followed by waffles or crepes... very good value!

When the covid guidelines were lifted and we were allowed to go back but eat/drink outside, we went for a birthday meal and were extremely happy with both the food and service. Lovely village pub and enjoyed our first meal out for 12 months.

Tried our local pub for the first time. Due to Covid had the delivery service ordered off there own website. Gentleman who delivered the food was a very nice friendly guy. A great meal with entertainment provided by the Chefs mum who served us; she was a good laugh from the minute we walked until we left. The scotch egg starter was superb as was the mixed berries soaked in red wine and ice cream desert....

Took my family to the black Smith's arms for Sunday lunch and i was not disappointed! Food was great and the service was really good also. Great prices and portions are generous, i will be coming back for sure.
