Had a fabulous well priced Sunday lunch today.wine prices good staff excellent Easy to park nice clientele service perfect. Very busy but no pressure

I went here with my wife to celebrate my birthday and to support this establishment which had been devastated by the winter floods and had recently reopened after being refurbished.We were welcomed by the lovely staff who were very attentive and efficient. Our starters and main course were excellent and freshly cooked to perfection.We took advantage of the two for one main course and were extremely pleased with the bill which was excellent value.We will definitely be going back soon and plan to do so regularly.

We have eaten here many times in the past and were happy to find that they had re-opened recently. Everywhere looked smart and we had excellent food brought to us by pleasant staff. Unbeatable value for money, we will be returning soon.

The service and quality of our meal was first class. It was excellent value for money. We will definitely be back soon. In fact it will be next Friday.

Have been going to the Royal Oak for years ,and have always had great service. The food is cooked to a very high standard and we always have the 2 4 1 so it's a very reasonable price.

After a last minute change of plans it was great that the Royal Oak could fit in a group of 14. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. The menu is varied with lots to chose from. The staff informed us that the wait maybe a little longer than normal due to the size of the party and the last minute booking. However as a group we felt the waiting time was more than acceptable and if anything surprisingly quick, all things considered. However the starters was disappointing. Paying £6.50 for three callimari rings is unacceptable and a joke. I understand sea food isn't the cheapest of foods, but paying over £2.16 per ring is a rip off. The staff did discount the bill and acknowledged the small portions but only after being challenged. meaning they was originally more than happy to charge us the full price knowing it was substandard. The rest of the meal was lovely, with everyone clearing there plates. In essence we all said we would eat here again. The Royal Oak catered for a large group at very short notice and on the whole it was very nice. Just watch the portion sizes

We booked very last minute and the staff were really accommodating and so lovely and friendly. We had a steak sharer and it was great, we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

We came here with my mum for lunch, we ate off the 241 menu and expected the portions to be small but we were genuinely surprised when they came out. All the food was tasty and hot. The staff were very friendly and smiley which I love, in lots of eateries the waiting staff do not smile very much. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Had a great Christmas lunch, but the draught beer was not so good.

What was a delightful country pub is now a restaurant really. Great shame. Having said that the food is ok.

Booked a table here for an early evening meal prior to going to the lights at Coombe Abbey . The pub was busy when we arrived but our table was reserved and ready for us . They accommodated our two young grand children well with a high chair and crayons and puzzles . The service was great they can took our drinks order and gave us time to choose our mains . Plenty of variety on the menu and a 2-4-1 offer as well . I chose the burger which was a little dry but came with accompanying mayo etc so all was ok . I plumbed for the sticky toffee pudding as sweet which was super . Try the place it’s only 11mins from Coombe Abbey and with an open fire is just right for these dark nights .

Have just got home from a great Christmas lunch at The Royal Oak with my team. The meal was pretty much perfect, the turkey was succulent and there was a great serving of veg. I had the pate starter and crème brûlée dessert and they were great. Service was excellent, we were well looked after despite the pub being busy. All agreed that food and service were great. Great to see as I have a soft spot for this pub, it was a student haunt of mine 40 years ago. Well done to the team, especially the kitchen. We look forward to visiting again.

I went with a group of friends for the Christmas meal. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The food was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and came out hot. There was plenty on the plate too and it left you very full. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We picked this place as a venue in the middle of all travelling parties. No one had been before but the team here absolutely delivered. It was a wonderful meal. A very warm and welcoming pub with a hard working team of staff who were very accommodating. I wish it was my local.

I come here quite often and always have a great experience. It's very cosy and all the staff are great and friendly, I've only ever ate the oak chicken here because I love it so much I haven't tried anything else. The oak chicken is legendary! The ice-creams are delicious! And the brownie desert.

My husband and I visited this pub on a Saturday evening whilst staying at a near by hotel.The staff were very welcoming and friendly and they couldn’t help us enough.The young waiting staff were very attentive and efficient and delivered a very quick service with a smile.They were very helpful when asked questions and very polite and a credit to the establishment.Our starters (prawn cocktail and Leek and potato soup)were lovely and well presented.My husband is very particular with his soup and said it was amazing. Our mains were equally as lovely and good value.I had their Italian pancake and it was delicious.my husband had steak ale and mushroom pie and couldn’t fault it,one of the best he’s had.service was very efficient and I would definitely return if in the area again and highly recommend.

Nice restaurant, nice staff, and constantly good food!

Make sure you wear a coat. It was freezing in there! The menu was all 2for1 with no choice of paying for better despite a better menu being displayed on their website. Unfortunately the price charged was reflected in the quality of the food. The staff were a young team who did a great job. Very good service but that was the best bit. Won't be returning 😒.

Very disappointed with the Sunday roast roast potatoes finished of in a deep fat fryer could taste all the other food cooked in the fryer a flat Yorkshire pudding doughie had wightbate starter use to be served on a board with a generous portion I got 8 little fish on a plater £6 in no the cost of living may of gone up . But wow also gravy on the Sunday roast very greasey

First time there. Ample free parking. Sat outside on a sunny afternoon, passing trains were a surprise distraction but not off putting. Food was very, very good, we ordered the surf'n turf and the lasagne, both cooked perfectly, and the 2 for 1 (limited days/times) was a pleasant surprise to the wallet. Even without the prices are reasonable. Service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back to sample the interior ambience. Thanks.

Nice country pub food generally very good and tasty although disappointed at the Sunday lunch today presentation not good half a roast chicken on the plate soggy skin undercooked and difficult to cut with a blunt knife shall not be returning on Sundays

Pleasant sit with a drink in the front patio area in the sunshine before we went in for our booked table Starters of chicken soup x2 and nachos followed by Pie and chips, salmon salad and faggots and mash for our table which were all good Not as busy as expected and service was quick and friendly

This is a great pub/restaurant which has a good menu choice. Good food and good service. Also has plenty of parking available too.

Having stumbled across The Royal Oak whilst in the area, we now travel here regularly to dine. We find the value outstanding, the service excellent, with very friendly and accommodating staff, and the 241 dining exceptional value for money. We pub is always busy but there's always a table even though we have booked, higher recommended, we certainly recommend to others. Visit you won't be disappointed 👍

The food and the time it took to be served was great, but we could hear them making fun of our order behind the bar 😭 Was a good experience outside of that, and food was delicious. Good value if you go at a lunch time too, they do a two for one deal.

Things have gone downhill at The Royal Oak. Poor service from inexperienced staff, puff pastry that was 99% puff, tepid water, ice cream with indeterminate lumps in it and wrinkly peas. Oh dear!

Had a lovely roast lunch for my Aunties party. We all enjoyed it

Went for lunch on a Sunday, service was very prompt and lunch was on the table within 5min of ordering, making it feel a bit rushed. Vegan selection was ok main meal wise, but only sorbet available for dessert, which meant no one bothered having a pudding. Generally a nice pub with good service and pleasent atmosphere.

Quality of food was good and at reasonable prices. Service wasn’t great with members of staff hiding in the room behind the bar upstairs chatting and on their mobile phones. You missed out on us having an additional round of drinks due to a lack of attentiveness.

Very nice pub. Food was great, no complaints. The service was a little slow on a not particularly busy afternoon, but the food was cooked fresh.

Arrived and our online reservation wasn't on the system. Maybe it was my mistake....I don't know. Waited 30 mins for a table and enjoyed a good point, then ordered. Sunday roast was bland and swimming in packet gravy. Burger was good and the fish tasted old and dry, chips good though. Crumble had a pastry base and crumble sprinkled on top. Novel but nice. Pleasant but won't be rushing back.

Just 1 tip . Fish and chips in beer batter . It would be nice to receive 1 peace of fish instead of 2 little bits . Little bit to Creasey. Can taste the beer . Has I say 3 star .

Very popular Brandon restaurant/pub with great pub grub. Extensive menu with specials and 2for1 deals. Friendly service.

My wife and I popped in for a beer and a little snack. There was a nice selection of ales to try. I had the Wadsworth 6X. Very nice. The place was quite full with people enjoying the two for one menu. The food menu looked interesting with several vegetarian options. We will come back sometime soon.

Absolutely lovely place ...was Travelling from Leeds to Coventry, and stopped at this lovely local place for some Lunch, Great atmosphere, very cosy and homely! Lovely staff and food was amazing Not forgetting the 2 for 1 deal. THANKYOU we will be popping in again in the future.

Friday night and was so empty, closed at 10.00pm, food was good and the staff were really great. But the place lacked atmosphere and the car park was not lit when we left, the lamps were turned off. Felt hurried to leave, what a shame.

I have been here a few times. This week we sat down stairs. It was a bad idea. It took ages to get menus, then ages to get our food. I didn't get what l ordered but they did put it right. At first the young girl who served us was surly and not in the least bit friendly. They did not have many staff. The 2 for one meals at lunch time make the pub popular. There is plenty of parking. There is an outside eating area.

This food was okay, but not as good as I remember from a previous visit. They had a very low stock of white wine and could only offer Chardonnay. I understand it might be in the process of changing hands, so might be worth another try in a few weeks?

Nice place on a trip out that way from Nottingham our 3rd time in there and again it was lovely I recommend it

Great food at a great price. Also at least 4 real cask condition ales to choose from. UPDATE Just returned from probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. Ordered a medium rump steak and chips at a price of £18.50 which turned out to be inedible. Blood running over the plate and extremely chewy. Only managed to eat 30% and when asked by the waitress if everything was ok I pointed out the problems and was told she would let the chef know. No apology or offer of reduced bill. My family and I will not be returning any time soon.

Traditional style pub, food was great, and generous portions. They do a 2for1 price menu with a good range of options, so useful money saver as visited on a work team lunch outing. Didn't try the beers on this occasion.

Friends used to own this pub years ago, I've not visited in ages. Popped in for a coffee, looked much like I remember it.

If I could put zero stars I would. Messed up my booking to start with. Tried to blame it on me when my booking says the right time. Told me I amended it at a time in the morning when I was definitely asleep. Asked me to prove my booking and I did. Poor attitude. Said they would fit us in (even though it wasn’t my error, no matter how much you try and make out it was). And when we arrived, made us (with an 84 year old woman) wait outside in the cold because we thought we’d be a little early to not inconvenience you more seeing as it seems we did just by booking in to start with. I don’t care about the replies you give us to this review. Your place is shocking and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone !! Never coming back. We phoned up Golden Lion in Easenhall to accommodate us (8 people) last minute, and they were more than happy to oblige. They were super polite and the food was delicious. Highly recommend going there instead of this dive.

Sunday lunch for family of 8. Food average. Service was bad. No starters that 2 had ordered. They bought their mains out by mistake. No dinner plates cleared when desserts were served. Always had lovely meals and service over the years normally.

The Royal Oak was found to be a good be be venue for a weekday lunch. Having a two for one menu it be seems to be very popular with locals or people in the know who are looking for good quality pub grub at a reasonable price. Portion sizes were very good, and something on the menu to suit everybody's tastes. Good efficient & polite service, all means we would visit again. Highly recommend a visit.

Place has gone down hill dramatically, food wasn’t the best and portions were small, food had a hair in which was disgusting and once complained the staff were rude and no apology was made just rude remarks and excuses. Staff unhygienic and cleanliness not up to standard at all. Won’t be returning.

Excellent meal with great service. 2-4-1 weekday lunchtimes makes it great value. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately we were seated and then forgotten about. So we couldn't order any drinks, people came in after us had their drinks order and food. Still nobody came over I stopped someone and asked if anyone was serving, they acknowledged but disappeared downstairs. At that point we decided to leave and I don't think anybody noticed until I spoke to the person on leaving that was still stood doing nothing and obviously not bothered. First time visit and clearly the last.

We’ve been visiting over the last few years and the food and service has slowly declined. Unfortunately we had terrible service on a previous visit, but decided to give them another chance last night. Food was totally mediocre…chicken was tough, batter on fish was chewy and I got a mouthful of sediment from the bottle of red I was drinking. Service however was much better this visit. I did email feedback privately last time (was requested) and thought it was disappointing it was not acknowledged. Im afraid we wouldn’t visit again.
