Served by Jonny at the Carvery, he was friendly and engaging with good customer service skills, food was well cooked, and good value for money.

We love this place and often meet friends here for a meal. However today things were not as good as normal, sausages on breakfast were hard and tasteless, they were sent back, as breakfast was mostly eaten we refused replacements. Hunters chicken was dry and slightly over cooked. Carvery was not as good as we normally find, Yorkshire puds were dark brown and looked like they had been out a long time, the rost potatoes looked nice but were hard, difficult to cut. It all seemed as if many things had been overcooked and been left around for to long. We will be returning as we love going here and it seems like today was an off day for some reason.

The state of the ladies toilets are disgusting,broken seat on one loo ,no working flush handle on second loo.The floor and walls and doors have dirty splash marks all over them.The state of these toilets as just got worse it puts me off eating here again..

It's on the nicer side of pubs i guess but not my favorite, which is ok.

Had a meal yesterday with family very fast service food was fantastic would recommend this pub

They didn't have enough ingredients for vegan tacos. Vegan nachos were really disappointing and tasteless. The vegan burger was nice and tasty. The burger had vegan mayo in it, but the staff said they didn't have vegan mayo, but were going to check. The waiter never came back. It was cheap and okay, but we won't go back.

Reasonably priced good food. Dealt with a table of 12.

Food was nice, just not enough for the price.

Chicken and bacon salad was disappointing: Croutons were overcooked and the sauce was too strong. The carvery portion was big but all the veggies were overcooked and tasted bland. Having said this, the apple pie was delicious and the waiters were nice although there weren’t many of them. Right by the river, the pub location is great and there were lots of people so I hope we were just unlucky on our food choice.

Been to the waterside this evening as I normally do at least once a month, normal thing, NO ABBOTT ALE Service was diabolical Had a mixed grill and was asked how I wanted my steak cooked and I asked for it to be done medium well, came out rare Will NEVER go back again

Carvery food well cooked and presented. Bar service slow. Mid week lunchtime so not much atmosphere.

As expected, good atmosphere, reasonably priced

Had a small and large carvery plate however the portion of meat served was very disappointing. The small carvery consisted of no more than 3 mouthfuls of turkey and maybe 3 of beef . Requested an another slice and was refused. The Yorkshire pudding were like flat discs. Definitely not value for money !! There is definitely more superior places in rugby to get a Sunday roast so we won’t be visiting Waterside again

This is a Very popular Venue. You will really enjoy your Time Which ever day you go.They r open for food 7 days a week. Go online and book ur seats. From a table for 3 or even 40 Fantastic Venue. Keep up the good work. Kris Reeve

The landlord was so helpful pointing out the best deals on non alcoholic drinks deals. Food was amazing too

Not fine dining, but excellent value for money. Food was well cooked (especially the burger) and portions were moe than adequate. and the waitress Becca was lovely. It was a bit noisy (not where I would go for a romantic candlelit dinner) but there is not a lot the Waterside could do about that. good food, excellent service, great value. FIve stars for the value and the service.

I came for a carvery on a very busy Sunday! I was greeted at host by Becca who was very polite and helpful. She then took us to our table. I was then served at the bar by Alex , who was very polite. And served a fresh carvery, Patryk then checked up on our food and made sure everything was great. Definitely recommend and will be coming again

Great service. Becca Sat us and looked after us during our stay and recommended us to have the apple pie for dessert.

We pre booked a table, but still had to queue to order, then we had to queue to get food with staff constantly trying to get through the line as clearly the layout of the queues need rethink so as not to be in the way of the paths of the staff, we ended up sitting down with our food 40 minutes later, and it wasn't worth the wait. Food was not nice, some veg was under cooked and the rest over cooked. Not a nice meal at all. The whole place was disorganised, and needs an update in management, and to train their staff to AT LEAST be kind to customers.

Don't order a pudding so small kiddies portions

Come here for a Sunday roast, not the best manged to book a table so that was a good thing had no gammon at like 6:30 or couldn’t be bothered to do anymore food was stale like it had been out all day. The Yorkshire puddings where no edible like rock hard burnt not very nice what so ever. After finishing dinner we where sat for about 45 mins (not busy at this point) one waiter kept walking past knowing full well we where finished and just couldn’t be bothered to clear our table! Had desert probably the only good thing about it, later did we relise we had food poisoning me and my partner the next day won’t be retuning again used to really like this pub few years back shame it’s gone down hill!!

Went for lunch today, 4 of us altogether. Sat at table 1. As always the food was excellent, and so was the service. However, we arrived at 12.00 midday. So the place should have been cleaned before opening. But the floor beneath our table was disgusting, mud, grass and other rubbish (which i did take photos of). It was brought to the attention of one of the serving staff, who dismissed it, and said the cleaning staff were rubbish, and needed replacing!

We arrived without reservation but that was no problem we were sat within minutes just told that the table was required in an hour or so not a problem.. portion of meat was of a good size and there was a good choice of veg and gravy .. will visit again when we are ever in that area again

Great place for a Sunday roast. Three types of meat are included in the meal. Very busy on Sundays. Carvery is available every day.

During my visit I opted for the Chicken Mix. I was greeted upon my arrival and felt extremely welcome from the moment I was seated to the moment I reluctantly left. My waiter Patryk was amazing and ensured I had everything I desired, despite looking a Young lad he was extremely professional throughout my time there. Despite looking extremely busy he made time with myself and my family to engage in conversations to really up my experience. I cannot wait to return again and I hope my server gets the credit her deserves! Thank you!!!

I had the opportunity to visit the city and this bar. The food was super good but the important thing is that I forgot my bag at their place. The next day I came back and they returned my bag with all my things in it. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. I will definitely come back, and I recommend this place to everyone.

Fantastic carvery, good service. Very busy at lunchtime on a weekday; they are clearly doing something right.

We regularly visit this cafe as we walk round Draycote Water regularly for exercise. We usually call in for coffee and cake or a bowl of their lovely home made soup. (The scones, jam and cream are to die for). Today we had the 3 course Xmas lunch which we had booked a few weeks ago. They do several sittings in the run up to Xmas, some are carol concert dinners, others music from the musicals, jazz dinners etc. We had ham hock terrine, turkey with all the trimmings and black forest trifle (the latter was amazing, laced with Kirsch and full of cherries and chocolate) delicious! Service, as always was prompt and courteous. Can highly recommend this cafe all year round, the Xmas meal was excellent and great value too.

Just had a Sunday carvery in this place, and by far the worst carvery ever, if you can’t microwave frozen veg there has got to be a problem

Food was mostly great though the gravy on the turkey and stuffing bap gravy was not gravy! Roasties were amazing and absouloutly divine!!!! Service was great although they charged wrong for the puddings it was still great !

My husband and I regularly visit the Waterside restaurant as a couple or with friends . We usually visit in the mornings for a cuppa , or for brunch. The staff are wonderful .They work so hard and often have to deal with a very busy restaurant and some rude customers . Well done to them all 👏👏

Today we went for a festive meal,,i would just like to say,we had a fantastic meal, we booked as a party of 4, Every part of that 3 course meal was excellent, i think we will book again before christmas, Fantastic value. There was a live entertainer who just made a great atmosphere, all the music from the right decades lol. I would highly recommend to all my friends and family.

I would advise against going to this, not a child friendly place. I was in tears after my visit to the cafe today thanks to discriminatory behaviour from staff. I am toilet training my 2 year old currently and when he shows signs I have to be very quick getting him on the potty otherwise he will have an accident. I put him on the potty before going into the cafe however half way through our visit here I suddenly started showing signs, to get to the children’s toilet I would have needed to walk through the cafe (very long room) and down some flights of stairs and I knew by this time he would have wet himself and so to save spillage on the floor I discretely put him on the travel potty that I had in a corner, angling my body in front of him to hide this from view. He did a small wee in the potty with no odour and I immediately shut the potty which seals completely. However I was then told my staff there that there had been a complaint about this and that I should use the toilets downstairs. I was absolutely mortified and I felt like the worse mum ever. Should I have let my child wet himself and cause spillage on the floor? I’d needed to get out of the house for an hour for my own mental health but I left mortified. How can the cafe hold things aimed at toddlers and children and then not be supportive of mums? Disgusting.

Always the same here- you make a booking and they don’t read the notes. Front of house was so interested in showing us to our table that we ended up loosing her as she wasn’t prepared to wait for my elderly parents. Deserts arrived when people were still eating their main course which we asked them to send back while we finished our meal

Downloading app was the worst thing - once the food and drink arrived all was very good

The food and drink were fine, but I would hate to eat here on a busy night. Not enough staff and not really interested. That may not be their fault since I don’t know the management or background situation, but the net effect was I stood at the bar and telephoned the place as if outside to get someone to serve us! I will not be rushing back.

Staff where friendly as normal, just not many of them. Queue to order meal a bit slow as only 1 member of staff serving. Carvery was not up to normal standard, meat, potatoes and gravy was good but all the vegetables were very undercooked and not pleasant so that was a shame. May use again but not for a while.

Great food, Chef Sam is excellent with his meat and it always comes with a special sauce. JJ the manager has great banter, always generous to his regulars. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Always happy to help.

Meals are very good except for the Brussels they are never cooked always very hard.

Went for meal to celebrate husbands 80th Birthday carvery was good but fish n chips not so. Chips luke warm fish cooked in old oil two of us had bad tummies later.

Great carvery now only £7 every day. Always wondered why they charged more on weekends glad they've changed it. Couldn't manage to carry drinks so they brought them over for me. Lovely staff

Carvery ok, just wish there was a microwave at the end of carvery to warm it up! Carvery always cold when go to eat it!

Carvery is good, however this is probably the worst service you will ever receive in any restaurant. Arrived around 5 on a weekday, there’s a few customers but not busy at all. Waited at the reception, multiple waitresses walked pass nobody bother to stop. Finally managed to stop one, rudely said, just grab yourself a table, while all the nearby tables got reserved sign on them? Needed to find a second waitress and again rudely point at far corner, there! Finally found a table, ready to order, grabbed someone and been told just pay at bar, nobody told me that? Waitresses at this restaurant all seem to have attitude problems.

Decent pricing and vegan main options tasty. Dessert menu is confusing - it appears that the apple pie can be made vegan by selecting the vegan ice cream accompaniment instead of the custard. But it transpires the pie is not itself, vegan. So I'm not sure why the vegan ice cream option is there complete the VG symbol? I'd imagine more than a few people have selected this and eaten something they wouldn't normally have, had the menu been clearer.

Had fish and chips here. Good food and nice location.

Quite busy, which isn't a bad thing. At the time of booking, wheelchair access was requested, but it may have been overlooked. The staff resolved it by moving 2 tables to accommodate 8 guests. To be honest, it's a bit tight for 2 wheelchair users to move around, and there are steps to different levels, so the choices of eating areas are quite restricted. Food ordering is QR code and smart app. The carvery was simple and tasty, reasonably good choice of vegetables. Desserts were good, and the table service was fine. The accessibility for the toilet (singular) wasn't the best. The wheelchair had to be left in the hallway because there was no room for the chair and user to be in there at the same time. Pricing was about average. Might be a while before I go back, but I probably will at some point in the future.

Lovely food, good prices, really lovely cheery staff. Lovely bright sunny room. The only thing that lets this down is carparking is very expensive £3.50 for two hours. It just rules it out as a nice place to pop for coffee and cake as just makes it an expensive visit. I just want to bring older relatives for coffee and not walk! It was very quiet when we came in and I wonder if the car park charges are the reason?

Me and my wife had the £7 Sunday Carvery, what, a complete letdown, everything on the plate was tasteless, the vegetables were under cooked. The Potatoes. were not fresh. The stuffing tasted dry, and the meat was cold. Can not describe the taste of the gravy because it is not something i have tasted before. Well. as the saying goes. you get what you pay for when you use cheap frozen food. Horrible after taste. Willl not be going back. The beginning of the end ? Should have read the feedback before going.

Very reasonable price for a carvery, selection of vegetables was good although some were mediocre, only two meats were out and we kept asking for the gammon but after quite a wait we gave up, the turkey was good the beef not so. Overall well worth the money but could be better with a bit of attention here and there. Popular and busy on a Saturday 2pm

My great grandsons burger was raw he already ate half then didnt bring his food back out for at least 45 minutes , also another lady said here pie was frozen in the middle ( great grandson noticed it being raw in middle ) slight coincidence. If my great grandson gets food poisoning then we will be filing a complaint . Also my partners roast dinner was cold also great grandsons mums roast dinner was cold (Other times this place has been really good but we always book a table at around 4 but today we came at 6 so do not come later on ) .

Food staff etc were absolutely fantastic. Definitely will come again.

I took ten of my friends to eat at 8pm the food was fresh, service was excellent and prices were very good, will return!
