Great little costa coffee shop tucked away in the heart of Haywards Heath. Exceptional service and the staff is always warm and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere and to it all off, the flat white is always on point:))

The place was unkept and run down, in need of a good clean throughout. Didn’t stop for food as it was so dirty. Such a shame as it could be a lovely pub with some TLC

I turned up with my mum, son in a push chair, and dog for breakfast. I wasn't very hungry but my mum was catered with and the dog was given the biggest tank of water (normally he finishes several refills).

Came yesterday evening for food at one of our favourite spots on a sunny day. The terrace is lovely and great for a drink. Food has really gone downhill. Had three roast dinners which were poor - not hot, overcooked, odd gravy and cauliflower cheese. Sea bream was over cooked, and vegetarian burger was very bland and dry. Beautiful terrace but only go for a drink.

The Ferryboat Inn is beautifully-situated beside the sea at the westernmost extremity of Hayling Island, where a narrow tidal channel separates it from nearby Portsea Island, upon which the "Great Waterfront City of Portsmouth" stands. Most people who visit the Ferryboat Inn will come by motor car as there is a large, paid car park adjacent to the pub. It's also possible to get there by cycling, or walking, along the disused Hayling Billy line from Havant. There is a frequent road 'bus service from Havant to Hayling seafront but the nearest stop is a fifteen-minute walk from the pub. Alternatively, the No. 25 'bus service from the Hard Interchange in Portsmouth sets down at Eastney Lifeboat Station, from where it's possible to catch the hourly ferry sailing (Adult Single ticket GBP 3:50) to Hayling Island. The Ferryboat Inn, part of the Stonegate pub chain, gets very busy during Summer weekends as it's convenient for those who wish to walk or swim at Hayling beach, It's also very popular with watersports enthusiasts, and those who patronise the nearby Golf Course. The wait for food, if you wanted to eat at a table inside, was about an hour when I arrived on Saturday lunchtime so I bought a large, fried Cod and Chips from the pub's takeaway chippy and ate it at an outside table overlooking the entrance to Langstone Harbour. If it's a windy day and you wish to eat inside, a plate of hearty Sausage and Mash will set you back GBP 14:50 whilst a Lamb Shank costs GBP 17:50. There is a good range of food and drink on offer with a 175ml glass of red or white house wine coming in at well under a fiver. Food is served from 12:00-21:00 on Saturdays and from 12:00-19:00 on Sundays.

The staff is unwelcoming and unhelpful. I asked a waitress for help to order. I was told I needed to order via app and at the same time move tables. Might as well asked me to leave. Disservice is what you get. Very unpleasant way to start the day. Her demeanor was careless to say the least.

Myself and my wife were feeling slightly hungry so decided to pop in and have a fish and chip lunch. When it arrived it was pretty poor. I ordered a small cod & chips and small it definitely was….and very greasy. I expected better quality at £14.25 per person. Wouldn’t waste my money here again.

I wish I had read the reviews before we choose to eat here as we are not locals but I didn't! My husband ordered the fish & chips & I ordered the days special - carb & crayfish tail linguine with a tomato sauce. My hubby said the fish was good but the chips won't great & the portion size was small seeing as this was an evening meal not a lunch. My linguine was tasteless. No crab taste, crayfish tails were chewy & over cooked. The tomato sauce was just like water in the bottom of the bowl & not coating the pasta. A staff member did ask if everything was ok, I mentioned about the pasta dish & he said he would tell the kitchen, nothing more! While we were eating the staff continually moved tables & chairs around us to get ready for a quiz later that evening so, not a quiet, relaxing experience. We were left with our plate/bowl in front of us, nobody asked if we wanted more drinks or a sweet - which we wouldn't of had because of the poor quality mains but never the less it should have been done. We were very disappointed & will not be returning to eat here.

I went here with my son and ordered food and drinks, including a banana milkshake. They served a strawberry milkshake. Instead of acknowledging their error, they wanted me to pay for a replacement. I declined and ultimately ended up getting the food refunded and going elsewhere. Quite why they didn’t just wear the cost price of probably 50p and change the milkshake I don’t know.

I've used Istanbul Grill for years, but today was my last visit. The standards have really declined. The last four or five deliveries we've received have been cold to the point that we've had to microwave them to heat them up. The pita is rock hard and inedible, and the meat looks anemic. The prices have skyrocketed, which would be acceptable if we were getting what we paid for. I'm very disappointed as customer.

Very disappointing. They may have full table service but it’s not a restaurant. Their floors are not just dirty but filthy, their service is very poor (very slow (on a number of occasions I had to go and look for someone), incompetent, clueless) and as if that wasn’t bad enough, their prices are exorbitant. They’re a little ridiculous, caught between a very nice restaurant’s prices but yet a typical pub's decor and “feel”. The combination simply does not justify the prices. The portion sizes aren't even that good either. Pretty on the outside with the nice flowers and all but there are a number of nicer (proper) restaurants I’d rather go to (that, to be honest, would probably cost less) before I’d go to the Brigadier Gerard again. Sorry, but I simply cannot recommend this pub in good conscience.
