The best restaurants in South East

Decent Fish and Chips - probably one of the best that I have tried in London. Fish is usually cooked to order, however if you visit within 30 mins of when they are due to close, their food may not be quite as fresh. Between 5pm and 6pm seems to be the busiest time I have visited. By 6.30pm it quietens down a little in my experience.

My Christmas treat. Chorizo scotch eggs to start for both my friend and I. Mains, beef skewer and vension loin. Cheese to follow. Asked no nuts, but the cheese board covered with them. They had to replace but was apologetic. They serve local produce and beverages. It's not cheap but a lovely night out. Can get quite noisy as it's a small restaurant and a bar. All freshly cooked to order.

Solid Japanese restaurant serving a variety of dishes. Sushi is really good and I'd recommend trying some of the more unusual dishes out as well.

Been coming here for years but will sadly not be returning after 2 wasted journeys. Firstly, turned up at 17.30 on a Sunday only to be told the pub now closes at 18.00 on Sundays! No other pub I know does this - is this a pub or a restaurant? The second time, stopped in on Saturday as usual at 17.00 after walking the dog, to be turned away as they have a new rule of no dogs after 17.00. There were empty tables so to turn away customers like this seems ridiculous and poor business sense. Given that a lot of people who work office hours walk their dogs after work, this rule alienates a whole demographic. Time to give other venues a go - with more amenable opening times and fewer 'rules'.

First time to the peking inn in Cookham. From walking in the front door to leavening was an amazing experience. The restaurant and staff amazing. Food was out of this world. Price very good. And Pam the owner. A very lovely lady. Made us feel at home and spent time with us. My wife and I absolutely love it. And talking about it Sunday morning. Thank you guys and girls.👏👏👏

We are very lucky to get a table for three on Friday night without prior reservation. We are very impressed by the foods we ordered, everything is so delicious! I particularly love the seafood and chicken paella we ordered, the meat is generous, good amount for three people to share, so tasty!Also, the service is fairly attentive and quick, every staff is wearing a smile on their face. I haven’t enjoyed dining in a restaurant so much as today. Highly recommended!

The waitress who served us had a bad attitude after i made a small complaint about my food.

This place focuses heavily on selling fish-based dishes. We went with friends and frankly I have to say that the fish dishes were a bit disappointing, while the meat was really good. We consider the prices to be average, while the wine has a decidedly high cost, this disappointed us a bit. We will try to return once again, I am curious to taste their prawns and make a further evaluation.

Superb set-menu lunch after we'd walked from Deal to Dover. Humus and borek followed by shish main course. Everything fresh, delicious and healthy. Extremely good value.

The best pub in Epsom. I love the Fuzzchat stout, but the whole range of drinks is impressive. The food is great - home cooked and tasty. A real fire and genuinely friendly staff. Can't ask for more.

The best Bao Buns in Brighton. Can highly recommend the Pond chips too. Really fast service too on a busy Saturday evening. Yummmmmm!

Food was great, service was lovely, atmosphere was buzzing (perhaps a little loud for my old ears!), overall a really good find.
