Excellent quality chips. Chicken and mushroom pie is perfect. It’s not the most glamorous chippy but it’s all about the food which is 10/10

Best fish and chips I've ever had. Medium cod was huge - twice the size of the 'large' cod I got from Wolfie's a few weeks ago and MUCH nicer tasting.

This is the best chip shop in Brighton / Hove in my opinion. The food is always of a very high quality and the portion sizes are very good. The food is cooked fresh and you can tell. Highly recommended.

Batter is always soggy and tastes like rubber when you order online, and sausage tastes awful, like perfume. The chips are always ok, but it's 100% better to go in and order. It's always fresher and tastes much better.

Chips are great, everything cooked from fresh. Cod is great too.

Portions are very generous, the fish is very tasty and delivery is timely. Salt and vinegar has been forgotten once but easily remedied at home.

Tuna salad was prepared incorrectly. Asked for chilli sauce and got full fat mayo! It covered the entire salad, I couldn’t even scrape it off. Went in the bin

Seems like mostly a takeaway place, very limited seating inside. My wife and I stopped by for our first fish & chip experience in the UK. It was great! Unlike the places down on the beach in Brighton you couldn’t smell semi-rancid oil from a block away. Everything here was fresh and clean. Our fish was cooked to order and the portions were much larger that expected. We are in town for three weeks, and we will definitely return.

Excellent sausage and chips, excellent chicken nuggets and chips. Very hot as always. The delivery time was between 1700 and 17.30 they arrived at 17.15. Great service. Thanks.

We were lucky enough to go on a quiet Thursday evening and as a result, had our fish made after we ordered (rather than cooked ahead and kept in the warming racks). Fish was amazing, chips were okay but a little soggy. Fish (when freshly cooked) 10/10 Chips 6/10

Just bought a portion of chips from Seagull on way back from Archery shoot in Hove. Best chips I've had in years! And I was brought up in Yorkshire and Liverpool! Delicious lightly fried firm chips. And a very generous portion. Will come back for the fish as well v soon!

Ordered via deliveroo, order arrived hot and on time, first time ordering and was pleased that my order notes were read and I got exactly what I asked for. Only few downsides was my plaice and gravy I don't think that the plaice was fresh as it had a very fishy smell to it which was off putting so after a few bites I had to bin it. Also the gravy was quite lumpy, not well mixed through so some parts watery and others thick. Which was a real shame and waste of money. However everything else I had ordered was very nice. Thankyou for your response, however as far as I'm aware, fish should not smell "fishy" even when fresh it does not have a strong fish smell.

Was much longer wait for some reason, to do with waiting for delivery driver , arrived one hour after ordering and all stone cold. Such a shame Didn't enjoy the food was to cold and not nice reheated at all

We ordered via Uber Eats and the food arrived quickly and was still piping hot! The batter is thin, crispy and not greasy at all. All in all, great food at a great price.

Urgent message to all you fish and chips connoisseurs out there! After months of searching and bad experiences, I finally found this little gem of a place. If you want soggy batter and miserable staff, go to Bankers! Seagull is a must! Excellent food, big portions and the owner is a great guy!

The food was pretty mediocre unfortunately. Not really very flavoursome. The chicken nuggets were nice, although all food was cold when it arrived. Generally quite disappointed this time round :(

The food is good but the gherkins it's literally a hit or miss as sometimes they are really fresh and crunchy other times like today they tasted soft squishy and off! I couldn't eat any of them

Banging chicken burger! Got traditional chip shop chips and normal chips but didn’t notice the traditional chips till after eating the normal chips (which were still very nice) so only managed to eat a few of the quality chips, cod was also rather nice and the pickled eggs, well what can you say about a pickled egg, it was an egg that was pickled… all round good meal!!

Chip portions were very generous. Batter on the sausage was terrible the minute I touched it all the batter broke off. Called after the delivery had already said I got it 15 minutes before was told 10-15 minutes and got it 40 minutes later

Chips were either undercooked or scraps left over. Pukka Pie lid was dry and over done, the batter on the fish and sausage was thin flakey. The whole experience is extremely disappointing.

Really tasty chips and curry sauce, but fish was a bit too oily (both ended up taking the batter off and just eating the fish). Arrived hot and chips weren't soggy. Pretty good overall.

Chips lovely but the rest was disappointing. The sausages were cold and soggy and the batter was beyond crispy and slid right off as soon as we cut into it. The fish was dry. Our order was half an hour late to arrive so that may have contributed.

For an order that was to be delivered between 18-40 -19-00 it is now 19.30 and unable to call shop as no one answering phone. I am fuming with the lack of contact from shop and aggravation of trying to get through to a human to complain too.

The food tasted like it has been cooked in old oil. I’m a bit fussy about this so didn’t eat the chips which usually get scoffed in abundance. Very average but perhaps ordering after 8pm on a Monday wasn’t the best day of the week as likely not that busy. It was super hot though which was impressive given the distance from my house and the fish super crispy

Food was fine. Portion size fine. Delivery fine. But it arrived WITHOUT salt and vinegar. Without. They couldn’t even be bothered to pop some little sachets in the bag. No salt and vinegar is absolutely fine, as an OPTION (an option for utter psychopaths) But it should not be standard. Supplying it as standard suggests that’s what the majority want when this is patently untrue. I felt like throwing it against the wall rather than eating it. Luckily, the hotel I’m staying in was able to provide salt sachets so I was able to eat my dinner. Also, if you’re feeling frugal don’t get sucked in to the 15% discount when you spend £20 or whatever it is. By the time you’ve paid their delivery and the service charge you will have saved a pound only. One golden nugget. Hardly worth it when you could just order from somewhere that puts salt and flipping vinegar on their flipping chips

Being going here since they have opening fantastic quality food always hot and taste delicious even they burgers are to die for much better then a kebab shop burgers I would 100% recommend this fish and chip shop and also great service

Have ordered here 4 times now since the pandemic began. The only place we will order fish and chips. Every single time food is hot and delicious never overly greasy. Only on one occasion was there cheese missing from a burger but this is classed as a minor human error, not a big deal, just a slice of cheese, quite literally. Food timing is excellent. Food always piping. And packaging is great. Thank you for looking after us. I hope the community will Will continue to support this local business/takeaway as you deserve it.
