The shop was immaculately clean. The gluten free option was the best my wife has ever had. I had the grilled cod which was perfectly cooked. The gravy was delicious and the portions a perfect size. Well done team Ramsbottom!

On the few occasions I've eaten at Ramsbottoms the fish has still been cold or frozen in the middle.

I went in to day with my mum , I asked for a kids meal for my mum . Because she is a small eater . She is 88 and don’t eat much . I was going to have an adult meal and she was going to have a kids meal the lady said under 12 only. I think is so wrong that old people can not have a kids meal in the shop .

Popped in for a quick lunch. Best fish and chips I have had in Brighton by far and probably Sussex for that matter. Incredibly fresh fish and perfect chips, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere with relaxing classical music. What more could you ask for!

Good old-fashioned chippy. Ramsbottoms has been on Blatchington Road forever. Freshly cooked chips, fish, etc. Nice and clean. Lots of seats inside to dine-in. Not much more to say, really.

Good fish , but curry sauce is disappointing

Without a doubt the best fish and chips on the South coast. Staff are friendly and the fish is amazing. If you want proper fish and chips honestly Ramsbottom is the one and only.

Went to the restaurant as it was highly recommended. Very pleasant staff but it was a cold winter day. We decided to sit in thinking it would be warm. Unfortunately they did not have a single radiator on in the building. It was absolutely freezing. What a shame it let the whole restaurant down. How can you enjoy a meal in the freezing cold? As I said the food was good. Staff were nice. Restaurant freezing would not recommend going there in the winter months.

Best fish and chips I've had for years and years and I grew up in Blackpool by the coast. Very high quality fish and chips. Faultless. Dry crisp fresh not oily..perfecto.

I should be angry with this place because I now can not get Fish and Chips from anywhere else as this is by far the best Fish and Chip shop I have ever eaten in. And I am a Hove boy of 61 years. Lovely friendly helpful couple and the restaurant is very clean. Roll on January 2nd.

Just had lunch here and can say it was the best fish and chips we have had in a long time, Service was great and it was defiently value for money.

Best Fish and Chip shop in Sussex, been going here for over 6 years, won’t go anywhere else, family run restaurant and takeaway, good selection of fish and other battered products, good range of sides too. The owners are friendly and polite. I have worked in this industry for many years and had the privilege of working in some of the top Fish and chip shops in the country and this place is up there with them. They know how to cook! The batter is crispy and the chips are always cooked to perfection. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. Highly recommended.

Chips are good and gluten free but they don’t offer gluten free vinegar. Bit frustrating because they had bottles of gluten free vinegar behind the counter but you had to buy a whole bottle for £1.50. I offered to buy one for them to use now And then keep behind the counter for other gf people and he said he wouldn’t offer it to anyone so I walked away with average chips with no vinegar. Clearly doesn’t understand good manners to anyone gf!

This fish and chips restaurant is the best in Hove and actually the best i’ve ever had in my life! i went for the small cod and chips which was £9.30 with a can of coke and wow it came in a box and when things come in a boxes it’s going to be something special, the fish was so fresh and not an ounce of grease light crispy batter and the chips are out of this world, Top friendly staff and owner is a lovely person, would recommend to anyone and have told all my family and friends to go there to try it for themselves.. thanks for the delicious tasty food and can’t wait to try out all the other items on the menu. ;)

We've actually found a chippy that both fish/sausages AND chips are not greasy and so tasty! A fab treat after a shopping trip. Love to sit outside with a cuppa before are food is brought out to us piping hot. Most definitely a must try!

Beautiful chips, piping hot. Steak and kidney pie was very hot and lovely. My partners veggie burger and chips were excellent as well. Very friendly staff and clean. Definitely recommend.

Great service from this place, the portions are of a good size and the wait from ordering to picking up wasn’t long at all. Price wise this is in the middle (not cheap but not expensive) but you do get a lot for what you pay for. Reasonably large inside so you can eat in, there is also some outdoor seating which, in good weather, would be good to use.

Consistently the best chips in Hove over many years. Can't say how much I appreciate the chips being properly gluten free. Have lost count of the amount of times I've been here but can confirm I've never had a soggy or old chip. Hurrah!

Just had a Deliveroo from Ramsbottom, delicious and fresh fish and chips enjoyed by the whole family. My son loved the burger too. Great options for gluten free batter, and grilled fish for a healthier option. Will definitely order from here again. Far better than Wolfies in my opinion!

This is an excellent..LOCAL CHIPPY COME RESTAURANT, its in Blatchington Road Hove ,its not on the tourist map , but very well attended by us locals. Run by a husband and his wife ,who always are friendly and welcoming, the fish is always fresh and good size portions and a wide variety of types of seafood. In the restaurant (best to book ) a good menu plus a selection of wines and drinks...a children's menu is.also available It's highly recommended..Edo

This must be best fish and chip shop in the Brighton and Hove area, light crispy batter over an extremely large fluffy white piece of cod, the chips were soft and not fatty at all, struggled to finish the portion. There is a seating area once this nasty virus is over so probably get a slice of bread and butter and cup of tea with my dinner, looking forward to that.... just like the old days....

For my wife and me, this is the must go to fish and chip restaurant. The food is excellent, and Zoe and Marcio, the restaurant's proprietors, make every meal a delightful experience.

Delicious chips & gluten free batter for the halloumi sticks was fantastic

The fish was definitely fresh and cooked all the through. The golden crispy batter was so great you'll eat the skin and leave nothing behind. The chips are fried from actual cut potatoes and not that frozen stuff you buy off Iceland. Worth every penny.

I ordered Jumbo sausage and Cheesy chips and a portion of cheesy chips and the hole food was Extremely greasy the cheese was on this paper thing and wasn’t really on the chips. I would like a refund on this because it has made me upset that I have had a bad experience with the food.
