A really nice place to have a coffee and some delicious food. If you're walking around the park, stop here, you won't be disappointed. 🙂

Popular place for locals and walk

Only three people in front of me, all with very straightforward orders & I waited almost half an hour for two lattes. The girl was making ONE drink at a time - order in front of me was for two flat whites and she made them one by one. Asked her colleague if she was training and he responded 'no she has been here for a while!' Finally handed my lattes and one was literally overflowing my takeaway cup. Had to politely ask her to tip a tiny bit away & she rolled her eyes! VERY awkward experience and her colleague, who was very nice, was seemingly apologising on her behalf to everyone in the queue. The slowest coffee order of my life & at 3pm on a Sunday when there was barely anyone about!

The food was delicious , the staff were polite and friendly , definitely worth a visit. We had lunch on the Saturday and roast dinner on the Sunday.

Every time I come to Thame I go here, always amazed at how friendly the staff is. Not to mention a nice flat white. Plenty of seats and right on the Main Street.

Very pleasant social experience. The prices ere reasonable and the staff very friendly and efficient.

I usually have a fortnightly meet with friends at Bonitos in town, but one of the members lives nearer to this hostelry, so suggested we meet there instead. We are a group of ‘average diners’, a Sunday meet up and brunch and drinks. Only it was past 12pm so I couldn’t order off the breakfast menu.. but one of our group had ham and eggs, so not sure what the difference is. I had a smaller portion of a main meal (as I was not ready for a full lunch, having a roast dinner waiting at home for later…) Burger and chips.. Frozen, tasteless burger, no butter, nada in the bun, no salad garnish etc.. £9 for a plate of cr*p. Will not be ordering again. Nearly £3 for half a pint of tap cola (so water and syrup mixer…) Shocking! Again, this place will only be getting another visit from me if I miss the group meet ups. Would prefer to go to Bonitos alone .. PS The noise in the front room bar area got increasingly louder as the lunchtime wore on and the ‘men’ were guffawing and shouting at each other the more they drank. We could not hear ourselves talking just 2-foot distance over the table.. And I was told this was a ‘quiet’ Sunday! The staff were polite and as good as they could be. However, I was shocked by the grubby areas around the place. I.e. in Ladies the door (inside and out) was black with grime around the fingerplates.. NB I have not taken photos as I would hope ‘if’ I ever visited again the cleaning issue would have been sorted. (I think most places close down over Xmas/New year for a break for the staff and I would hope that the very basic of deep cleaning and a bit of freshen up on paintwork would be on the list.)

Unfortunately our experience was rather disappointing. The young man that served us was pleasant and attentive - but the food was extremely disappointing. A party of 3 - 2 had the Seafood salad starter (light eaters) and 1 had the Seafood starter but as a main. The lack of seafood in both the starter portions (£13) and the main (£20) was disappointing. The starters had 4-5 prawns and a similar number of mussels and the main had an additional one or 2 of each - but we all thought we had not received any crab meat. On closer inspection we could see extremely small crumbs of crab meat scattered throughout the lettuce leaves but so little as to give no discernible taste. The pudding was nice and the pub itself was pleasant - maybe we were just unfortunate in our choice of dish.

After getting my coffee every morning for more than 2 months , I decided to drop this feedback due to extremely poor quality of services and coffee too. Apologies, but that's not coffee, taste as the water that comes after the coffee machine got cleaned up😔. Paying nearly £5 for nothing 😑

Open on Christmas Day... Nicely busy with cheerful staff. We go there a lot. But the Banstead store is looking tired and could do with a refresh, if only a coat of paint and a permanent fix for the temporary....at least 2 years...bit of wood under the counter. Always get a good coffee with super friendly service.

The staff are so rude I was standing there waiting for my drink today and the lady behind the counter was moaning about living here and saying the water and the food are terrible. Quite loudly - how rude. If she doesn’t want to live and work I t his country perhaps she could give the job to my son who lives locally and would like a job. Disgusting behaviour Costa!!!!!

Very bad service. Took very long to prepare

Myself and a group of friends decided to do a circular walk starting in this pretty village and ending with a pub lunch. Unusually we had not read the pub reviews in advance. What a wonderful surprise! Although we had not booked were were immediately made very welcome and accommodated in the atmospheric dining part of the pub. The very extensive menu including all the favourites alongside many specials made it difficult to choose but we were all very happy with the quality and portions of our varying options . Of particular note were the home made nachos . The pudding choice was also great ,. Huge portions , good prices and home made. The meringue and the banana waffle were the favourites. The fantastic food was surpassed by the wonderful service. Nothing was too much trouble. we were addressed by name and really put at our ease. Furthermore we mentioned we were celebrating a friends birthday and a beautiful home made mini Victoria spinge complete with candle was presented Thank you all sooo much for a really exceptional experience all round Jacqui carol ( birthday girl), David, Rob judy , Ann and Julia

Pretty quiet town sort of pub quite clean staff seemed ok drinks ok

Nice pub & friendly staff but the Xmas meal was poor for £28. Hardly any turkey, loads of spuds & a few veg but very lack lustre meal. Would not recommend.
