Costa Coffee in Mid Sussex

Great little costa coffee shop tucked away in the heart of Haywards Heath. Exceptional service and the staff is always warm and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere and to it all off, the flat white is always on point:))

There was utter filth in this shop and the service was so slow that the first coffee they made was cold by the time the 3rd one arrived. So dirty and staff had no ideas how to run that shop.

This Costa is a weird. Like it’s got this indescribable quality. Considering how close it is to the station, it’s always so incredibly quiet. At times, I’ve sat in this Costa for hours and barely seen anyone else come in. I also have a theory that this Costa is used to train staff because the staff keep changing, like every few weeks it’s a brand new member of staff behind the counter. Either that or they treat their staff so badly that there’s ridiculous levels of staff turnover(?) It’s Costa, so you can’t expect much from the food. Plus there’s no plug sockets in this Costa so you can’t work from here for very long. Maybe that’s a good thing though because if I worked there all day I wouldn’t eat. Usually when I work from here I hyperfocus for a few hours and then when my laptop dies I’m forced to go home and feed myself. I'm still gonna give this costa my usual four stars though because it's perfectly pleasant, you can almost always get the best seat, and semi regularly there’s a group of people who hang out here playing Scrabble. When they’re there then the vibes are significantly better.

Staff had back to us for ages did not acknowledge we were even there. There is always something not available including coffee last week. Not sure I'll bother coming back it really is a poor experience

As a costa barista myself, i’m disappointed. i asked for a WHITE hot chocolate with a shot of coffee. Instead i got a normal hot chocolate that was so pale with barely any chocolate powder in it, with a ridiculous amount of bubbles and froth, along with the milk being terribly burnt. It wasn’t even filled to the top. My friend got a coffee frappe which was done well but the whipped cream tasted off and it was lumpy. The girl who served me had an attitude , no smile or politeness whatsoever. won’t be coming back

Poorly staffed. Dirty and badly organised

Quiet place,similar ro all "Costa" coffees, the staff is always new guys not very experienced and lots of them are now learning. But they try hard. There is parking on the street but it's not especially for "Costa" so it's difficult to park your car there. The place is clean ,the music is not very loud so it's perfect for reading or working on your computer.

Refused to give me my change in pound coins, not because they lacked pound coins, but as a policy to deter people coming in from the launderette opposite. I was very surprised. But it turns out you can get a nicer coffee in a nicer environment (and change in pound coins, should you desire this) from "Peckish" 20m away.

Quiet Costa but a great large cappuccino and fresh cinnamon bun. Nice seating currently relaxing in a gorgeous leather sofa.

Well you don’t go to Costa fir a decent coffee. You go because it’s the only place open. You know they will serve a poor coffee, and that’s exactly what they do My review is not for that, it’s for the most appalling service, curt, disinterested and just off hand Please buy a coffee anywhere else

Nice costa not such a busy store other than at lunchtime. Just be cautious here because staff don’t make drinks right - I live locally and there’s been times I’ve got home taken the lid off and marched straight back there for them to re make the drink. Always short staffed slow service.

This is the worst Costa I've been to, always under staffe so you're waiting for ages. Always looks like it needs a clean & got my order wrong 3 out of 4 times I've been.

Nice quiet location, but great staff and quickly served. Nice to find a Costa that isn't too busy and near to the station so a bonus.

No Wi-Fi. No interest in my request for it. Almost a surprise I asked for it. Told by waitress that she’d get help which never arrived. Indifferent. I’m probably being prissy expecting it, but I planned my day around an early start with a couple of hours on-line before a big day. Some of these cafe owners miss a huge trick and cause incredible negativity among customers who assume when they advertise with Wi-Fi then can’t deliver it? Packing up now having spent money on breakfast to find an alternative with an hour lost.

Popped in for a coffee and cake whilst waiting for someone. The place smelt damp, the windows were steamed up and as I walked to place my order the young lad behind the counter walked away. Took awhile to return. My take away latte was barely warm but I was just glad to get out of the place. I will not be returning

Says open till 19:00 but now closes at 18:30, but apparently the times are on the door on a scrap piece of card with some poor hand writing on it. So 18:10 is too late to order. Went elsewhere where they were open at the published times.

My god, how long does it take to make 2cups of coffee!! 15 minutes. Almond croissant was dry. Never again!

Fast service with great drinks. The staff were great and kept the place tidy.

This review and score is not so much for the coffee and cake (worth 4 stars, especially the cake) but more for the servers who are easily worth 6 stars. I stopped here for a caffine top-up today during a long ride. A women in front of me was berating the young servers because they declined to make her a special (i.e. not on the menu) and at the price she decided she wanted to pay! They were polite and accomodating; she was agressive, rude, entitled and in the wrong. Well done to the two servers, who are a credit to their generation and make me ashamed of some of the people in mine.

Awful service from the woman working with Adam on Sunday. He looked totally embarrassed while she argued trying to give me £5 for a £4.20 refund. Not his fault she can't read a till. Then the attitude as I left, audibly talking about me in front of other customers. Refused to give her name. Disgusting

Fine for chatting to a friend over coffee.

I tried to buy a coffee at the age of 15 and they told me that they would have to make it decaf. If you google what the legal age to drink coffee is, you will find that the age is 12+. Why am I being denied a coffee when there is no rule stating that I cannot have caffeine from coffees.

Good and as usual like all Costa coffee shops. Got good seating. Place was clean. Staff were okay. You can buy some sandwiches or wraps as well.

Website states the store is open at 06:30. Stood outside waiting till after 7am, still wasn't open, went to a competitor. Get the basics I.e. opening times correct Costa. Staff just hid in the back room and didn't acknowledge a growing queue outside.

Usual dull interior with air con blowing cold . Too chilly to hang around for a 2nd cup

I visit this costa most mornings on way home from work. Nora and the team are excellent. The coffee shop is always clean. The service even at there busiest times is always of the highest standard. The team are always happy to help and we'll the coffee is just the best. Thank you Nora and the team for making my last coffee of the day special and keep up the good work.

This branch of Costa is my local when I am at work. Nora is the Manager and she is brilliant, so are her staff. She is very helpful and knowledgeable let's me know what infers they have on and goes out of her way to help. Today their coffee machine was not working. She said she would call me to let my colleagues and I know when it was back up and running again. Which she did! Thank you

I go this this costa 5 days a week I always receive excellent service from the staff.

Always had different experience from this costa, sometimes the coffees spot on and sometimes there’s too much syrup in the coffee, i always get the same, but different ending every time, the staff are nice & friendly and cafes always clean

I did like going here, there is or was someone by the name of harry and I think Liam, that i did like talking with at this Costa Coffee last year, before I was made homeless by a support care home, in the words of the services I am intentionally homeless, am not, I am unintentionally homeless, the services word that as intentionally for their own interests just did not want to be in a flat on my own, definitely not a mental health hospital

Costa Coffee - Sydney Road: Untrained, uncaring staff. We used to love Costa but the service and drink standard has gone severely down hill. Short measures, luke warm drinks, served caffeinated coffee instead of de-caffeinated when had been ordered, consistent lack of stock including semi-skimmed milk, charged a fortune for non dairy milk options, dirty floors, one day the chocolate powder was even dispensed from one of their brown paper take away bags? The coffee machine and the area surrounding it is chaotic and dirty. Young, rude discourteous staff who just don’t care about what they are serving or how to speak to customers politely. Avoid at all costs. There are plenty of other decent coffee shops in Haywards Heath. AVOID

It's your typical everyday Costa, but it's the staff that steals the five stars. They are super friendly and helpful. Today for example, one girl who was alone behind the counter rushed to the front door to help me get my pushchair in. Thank you!

It's my local Costa to work, so I visit it semi regularly... i'd say all the staff know what they are doing and mostly happy and chatty. There have been a few faces in my time going (6 or 7 months) and they've all picked up the role well so there is no one there you worry about getting served by. i'd agree with one of the earlier reviews it can be a bit quiet, though I tend not to go to coffee bar's for the atmosphere so I wouldn't count that as a negative and it does mean a nice quick service - all in all a good coffee shop, nice and clean, good range of coffee and snacks and a decent staff - what more do you need for a 5 out of 5. **edit It's now picking up the pace and it can be very busy, however the manager and staff all seem to be pretty good! you get served and most of the staff seem happy and cheery! it's a regular weekly lunchtime treat and will remain that way!

Good coffee, great place to meet friends for a catch up

Quieter than the town centre coffee shops, this Costa is well worth trying. The atmosphere is more relaxed, the queue is shorter and the coffee is the usual Costa quality. There are a few parking spaces directly outside.

It's fine, quite a cozy setting, but just like any other Costa! Waited quite a while for my drink, which is usual for Costa. Staff quite friendly. Bonfire spiced latte was delicious! They didn't seem to charge extra for decaf.
