The best restaurants serving British food in South East

We're booked at the hotel on a spa break and dinner was part of the package. Have just finished a really lovely meal at Genevieve's restaurant. Food was great - had the lamb shoulder and my daughter had the beef rendang, both were delicious, and really generous portions. We were served by Amy R, who did an excellent job and was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.

You know it's been hanging around when an ultimate breakfast appears after 2 minutes. 1 Sausage and mushroom missing and beans stone cold. told bring it back and we'll microwave it. How about fresh food?

We came down for our wedding anniversary, it truly was exceptional. We stayed in the cannon room, the bed was one of the softest beds I’ve slept on and I travel with work. The shower is powerful and the towels soft. We ate there and had chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection. The breakfast was equally as nice. It was the small touches like knowing it was our anniversary and making that extra effort. We will be returning and I will be making sure my friends and colleagues hear about this hotel.

Me and my boyfriend went out for lunch and we were served by Ocean. She was lovely and the food came out very quickly and was delicious. The view was also spectacular, overlooking the river. We will be coming again!

On Saturday afternoon I tried to book Sunday lunch for 4 via their website but there was no availability shown except a message saying "enquire" . I completed an application but received an email saying "we will be back to you in 48 hours"!!! No response has been received. I tried to phone them but was answered by an automated voice and was eventually passed to a member of staff who said the first availability for lunch was 4.30pm! I am pleased they are busy but what a way to run a business!

I went in today for the first time, and I bought two large seabass and some salt salmon for tomorrow ! I have got to say tonight Seabass was the best I have ever had. I shall definitely be going back. Louise

This is a great pub with lovely food! All the staff were very friendly and a great menu! Also a fantastic size garden for the summer!

This now has to be Gravesend's best pub !! Popped in The Prince Of Orange for the first time this weekend & WOW !! . The decor inside and out flawless, atmosphere amazing vibe & to top it off the food and drinks were great. Also a warm welcome from the bar staff. The landlord & landlady really have created something very special with this pub. 5 Stars all the way

I booked a family lunch this week based on my local experience the over many years. I was most disappointed ( appalled ) at what we found. Just one person doing all front of house , running the bar and serving the outside tables. Result after the first course we waited for follow-up service - which never came- so we left halfway through the meal. As for the food - well the 'daily specials' consisted of Burger type stuff - proper food listed on the printed menu. my pie was obviously a commercial product- not very good- and all the veg were just lukewarm. Other choices similarly not great. Barn like room not very warm. Family party not happy- me ashamed.

Sports Bar with a great atmosphere and remarkably good pizza. At first look, it's not obvious that it offers food and, whilst it's not a large menu, the quality of the food is excellent. We had a great Friday night - thank you to the team!

I was looking forward to a nice Sunday roast lunch out. If your looking for warm white wine, cold dinner, cremated roast potatoes and burn’t Yorkshire's than this is the place to go. When asked at the end of the lunch if everything was ok we complained about the food and we’re then presented with £100 bill with £3.60 discount. Insulted wasn’t the word. I’m not one to worry about what the bill is usually, but the way the manager/owner Mateo dealt with it was disgusting and I’m surprised he is in business at all. Pubs are going out of business everyday and we try to support our locals whenever we can. As a businessman myself customer service is key. I never give bad reviews usually and am not one to complain but this has really wound me up. It’s just unacceptable the way they dealt with our complaint. I won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

We meet up with another couple for a meal every 6 months. We have had 6 visits over 3 years. Good place to have a meal.
