We have thoroughly enjoyed several Sunday Lunch visits to 'The Tavern on The Tye' (the new name for MOONRAKERS). Good to see that the rear outdoor seating area overlooking The Tye is at long last being properly used again. Our lunches were delicious and the beers etc well presented.A very friendly venue and deserves to get a lot of local support. A very cosy special leather bench corner-seat has been brought in to part of the seating area for dining.

My wife and I had fish and chips on Friday night outside in the garden overlooking the lovely church. Beautiful setting. Fish and chips was about £9 and was lovely. Nice staff too.

I visited Moonraker yesterday, on a perfect English May afternoon in the sunshine. My boyfriend and I sat out in the tiny garden under a sunshade, looking out on the sweet village green with the old parish church and Tudor buildings in the background-it was very sweet. The food was freshly made-just a simple menu, but put together with care. They also made a proper cup of tea that actually looked and tasted of tea, which is very rare. It’s very heartening to find a place like this that doesn’t just think that being in a very pretty place is all it takes-it actually puts a lot of effort into making their customers happy.

Excellent food and service - as always! This is the best Stonehouse restaurant I have visited by far! Prices are good as well - even for drinks! Highly recommended!!

We moved to Pevensey recently and The Red Lion is our new “local”. It’s warm and inviting, the staff are lovely and the food is always brilliant, portion sizes are good and quality of food is on point. Prosecco deals would be amazing as it does put us off slightly the price of a bottle compared to Tesco next door but if you want a night out then it is what it is! We are regulars and enjoy our time here. Music on a Friday/Saturday night would be great instead of Sundays but that’s just us im sure others like it on a Sunday.

I have already reviewed this in the main hotel site. The drawing rooms are lovely, comfortable chairs, beautiful view, BUT the food and wine by the glass were truly awful. Very poor quality and very expensive. Never again.
