As a local, I visit here fairly regularly. But really only because it is 'handy' and visitors want to try it. Last visit on Easter Saturday evening was appalling. Really busy (which is good) but only 1 guy serving at the bar, so was constant queueing. Had a table booked to eat, but was sharply told we had missed it- apparently it was an hour earlier and they couldn't now accommodate us! I wouldn't mind, but had already spoken to the bar guy about it and said I'd be back nearer our booking time. And then we had been sitting under his nose, trying to pass the time until our table booking. Horrible service and won't be back any time soon.

Horrific service, the waitress greeted us terribly and we had booked a table for 5pm and were told we had 45 minutes to eat, which was fine for us, but the manager kept on telling us we must eat quickly. We felt unwelcome and the staff were unpleasant, the drinks were very nice but we didn’t stay to eat, as we were made to feel like burdens to the staff, it was a very disappointing end to a wonderful family day out walking on the cliffs.

Great food, disappointing service… The fish and chips and beer were amazing, but the waiting time was too long and the waitress was very rude. We kindly asked for them to check for the food since it has been a while. At first, the waitress reacted as “we are very busy” and then when she was back with the food she was aggressively telling us that “it has only been 24 minutes”. Total mood killer after our lovely walk at Seven Sisters and vibe killer for this lovely place with tasty food!

Unwelcoming staff. We were told that we had to order food & drinks at the bar. Other tables in the restaurant had very attentive table service, so we were unsure why we were treated differently. A member of our family party had someone else’s fish dinner spilt down his back. This obviously stank & was very uncomfortable for him. The staff member disagreed that it touched his back and said it landed on the floor. This wasn’t the case, as other diners saw exactly what happened. We had to ask for an apology, which was given, although very reluctantly. We waited an extremely long time for our food, even though it wasn’t a particularly busy night. The desserts were wrong and we were told that we hadn’t ordered the ones we’d asked for. We were made to feel like we were in the wrong. Tiger Inn - you have lost some loyal customers. It has ruined our evening.

Bed super comfortable. Shower lovely. In the morning had complimentary breakfast which was the best cooked breakfast I’ve had in years During the week long holiday in which I stayed at the tiger inn, it stood out above all others due to not only being in a great location and being tidy and well maintained but it also had tonnes of character making it not only a nice place to stay but also a memorable experience at the same time.

This is a really lovely pub with very friendly locals, unfortunately I found the South quite grumpy and I've never had such a small piece of fish and so few chips when I've ordered fish and chips in a pub. The £17 I think they could have put a decent portion of chips on the plate an a normal sized piece of cod. This was half a fillet, all about a third of that which you would expect in a fish and chip shop. Have to say my score is sadly and simply average and that’s being generous, just over a year ago it would most certainly been higher, the food is not as I expected or known in previous visits, to be honest the price if reflective to quality would be below the standard of bypass catering van. So what has happened to this to change so dramatically costs have risen, the quality of food supplies have been compromised it really isn’t value for money, but on the positive side staff were efficient, the Long Man beer as always a good pint, but if the group ownership has put profit before people’s expectations of proper wholesome quality, its fails to impress, lovely setting but disappointing, please take heed and return to the old standards that make a landmark old fashioned public house a memory to cherish.

We were staying at the Tiger Inn, so the logical place to eat on the first evening was there. Even though we were staying and it wasn't a Friday or Saturday, it was advisable to book, so we did, which was just as well, as it soon became obvious just how popular the place is! Nice selection of starters, mains and desserts, so we opted for the home made steak and blue cheese pie and the breaded white fish with chips - both of which were well prepared and quick to arrive. Pie crust very crispy - which makes a nice change, as so many are soggy! Washed down with a glass of cider and large red wine. Tasty and reasonably priced. Pity we weren't staying longer to have tried some of the other menu choices.

Incredibly beautiful pub, however the staff, two I ordered from were brusque/curt. Left me with the feeling that they don't like tourists or perhaps people they don't know. Long man brewery bitter was good. Ordered main meal and got 2 small bits of undercooked broccoli. Half a roast or baked carrot literally cut in half lengthways. Bit of mash and a jus that was most underwhelming, and a lamb shank that was also just a bit less than OK, peas were... peas. We went to different restaurant 2 hours later to eat properly as main meal didn't fill us. Could of just given more veg at the tiger to achieve that. Beer and location good, service and food I can't say the same.

Unfortunately, this dinner was a disappointment from start to finish. I would strongly recommend that the restaurant implement a staff training day, as the service was shocking, especially given the price point. For £17.95, I was served an elderflower fizz that was reminiscent of a Wetherspoons cocktail—no garnish, too much sugar syrup, served in a gin bowl with excessive ice and just a straw and stirrer. It took ages to arrive after we had to order at the bar, due to a lack of staff taking orders at the table. The barman who appeared to be working solo was clearly flustered and evidently required either help or supervision, as the drink quality, presentation, and wait time was just not good enough for the price. This was just the start of a series of disappointments. My partner and I were then shown to our table, which was in an empty second room. Whilst this may seem romantic, we found it rather strange, especially considering the other room was nearly full. It seemed like the seating should have been split more evenly. We were greeted by another waitress who seemed pleasant but was unfortunately uninterested and lacked knowledge of the dishes. When we asked for recommendations, she responded with, "I don’t know. It depends on your palate." Typically, I would have expected more enthusiasm and knowledge about the menu, but this was not the case. After selecting our dishes and a bottle of red wine, we waited. The food arrived fairly quickly, but the wine was nowhere to be seen. It’s standard for drinks to be served before the food, so this felt odd. When our starter was cleared, we reminded the waitress about the wine. She looked at us blankly before bringing over the wine list and asking which bottle we had ordered, as she had forgotten. When our main courses arrived, the wine still hadn’t come. Despite having pointed out the Cabernet Sauvignon twice, we were then informed it was out of stock and asked to choose another. I would have expected the waitress to know about the shortage, but we accepted the mistake and asked for two glasses of Pinot Noir, as we were already onto the main course. Having worked in hospitality myself, it is common knowledge that if an issue arises it must be rectified with a matter of urgency. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case here. It wasn’t until we had finished our main courses that the wine finally arrived—without an apology or explanation. Throughout the meal, we were also not checked up on - another standard practice of hospitality, which made it even more difficult to address the issue of the wine. When the bill came, I asked the manager to remove the wine charges. Whilst he agreed, I would have expected him to be aware of the situation and offer compensation without me having to request it. As for the food, it was fine but nothing memorable. I had the linguine, and my partner had the lamb. Both were enjoyable enough, but given the £30-40 price point for the main courses, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations. We didn’t bother staying for dessert due to our frustration with the service. What was meant to be a special, romantic meal ended up being a major letdown and waste of money.
