just tried it here.perfectly fine.good value for money.the small chips was a decent size.fishcakes fine.dont always just listen to negative reviews.

Said shut at 8, went in half hour before. Told no chips. Wjy say shut at 8 when you don't. Have used them alot but after this never again!

Best chips I've ever had and really good value for money

The chips are OK. Could of done with a couple more mins or hotter oil as they were a bit too soggy. The battered items aren poor. The battered sausage didn't taste like a proper one, cheaper than cheap sausage. And it tasted old, like it had been sat there for 24 hours. Curry sauce was pretty meh. The place is pretty old and tired and the people serving were pretty irritable and cold. That said, it's probably the cheapest chippy around and the portion was good. 2.80 for a large!

Chips very under cooked and greasy . Very disappointed

Always delicious. A lot of these reviews are quite old. It's always quite busy and I think that says it all.

Dry, overcooked fish. Greasy batter. Good chips. Freshly cooked so why was the fish dried out?

Why people accept this I don't know, I had small cod and chips, The fish was so small and very thin, greasy and no flavour. The chips were not good either, half cooked and greasy too. Here is a pic of homemade fish & chips I made my wife.

Absolutely disgusting chips, looks like they were heated up from yesterday. I wish I could add a photo so you could see how awful they are. Really really horrible. !!!!!!!!!!

One of the best fish and chip shops in pompey.... Great service and fresh products.

I live 2 minutes away from this place and I won’t buy anything for them. The problem is that one day it will be good and the next it will be stale and old. I gave them one more try tonight and the fish tasted like it was cooked last week. I went back in to return it and the female owner was rude and virtually threw the money back at me. All I wanted was to talk to her about the inconsistency. I hope they see this review and take note because I would love a local chippy with great food. 👎

Not the best! The chips were burnt as was the sausage in batter I had and it wasn't particularly warm either, I'll be giving this place a miss for a while that's for sure!

Worst chip shop i have ecperienced. Arogant/ histilewomen served us with a burnt fish curry sauce that was tastless. Not supprised there was no queue to be served never again.

Nice chips shame about the customer service won't go again because of it they take your money then give you your chips then your change have to put chips down that means losing a few chips in the process.Did have a polite word just got shouted at by the woman only asked next time give people the chips after they have put their purse away.Go out of shop with stains on clothes last time it was bad grease stain this time not so bad vinegar.
