Delicious, mouth watering food; and attentive, friendly service. Bijoux, clean and pretty - do go on an empty stomach and enjoy. With good parking nearby.

The fish and chips didn't taste good and they were way too expensive.

Thoroughly enjoyed mid-week carvery. Well presented meat and veg options - fairly priced and of good quality. The food is kept hot under heat lamps that actually work!! We enjoyed lunch so much that we returned the next week for the breakfast buffet which too was of good quality, variety and value. Both occasions were reasonably quiet with no queuing. We will return with "great expectations". Thanks to all in The Alma.

I've been visiting Combe Haven and Mash and Barrel for many years, and I always look forward to being served by Chris. His consistent high-quality service is unmatched. The masala fish was to die for and was very tasty and spicy. Also there was great hospitality as the worker greeted me as I entered and as I left as well and the chips are nice and crispy. Would recommend!

I personally think cats should be allowed in pubs. It stares at you when you’re eating and has even jumped on the table before. It’s digesting and unhygienic.

Awful in every respect. Service, atmosphere, menu, all bad. Food was swimming in grease. Staff didn’t care. They just didn’t want to be there. Never going back.

Lady working there 23.8 at night is a nightmare. Is lack of people to work that bad? She is just acting like it was a punishment to work there.

Average service, good location, highly overpriced drinks and average atmosphere. This place used to be very good, but we definitely won’t be returning.

Great pub and the food is amazing

Very nice breakfast and service from the lovely Emma. Food was tasty and coffee was great. Emma is very accommodating and took care of us very well.

Good food and good service, we had classic chicken New Yorkers and garlic bread, followed by 2 brownies and they were all good and the guys gave service with a smile

Somehow the regular booking for our large group had gone astray and it looked as if we’d miss out on our meal. But Ken, the manager, found us somewhere to sit and arranged for us to be fed and watered in what was already a busy restaurant.

First time, It was good experience, could be better. Manager standing welcome table told us no available until 7:30pm. Full house. It wasn’t that busy, we left. While in car park we checked online, there go 5min later we got booking.. Back again, she was very upset Lokking:)) Most table were free, I think she didn’t want us or she doesn’t want business. Then we had table, our server penny very helpful and lovely lady.. We had roast, was good big portion. All good, except lady in charge (manager) bit miserable.

Food very good, service absolutely abysmal. We were not made welcome. Would not recommend. When I asked for two glasses of wine after the meal I was told to go to the bar.
