The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Been to the college farm twice last week food was great and Joe was very helpful thank you I will definitely come again We had the festive burger which was amazing. This should be added to the menu. Drinks selection was very extensive

When on the coast, or anywhere else for that matter, it's always a nice treat to have some fish and chips. My daughter who's twenty two, wasn't that hungry, so the proprietor suggested she had a child's portion, and it wasn't that small! My favourite fish is Huss (rock salmon) and it's rare to get a good one nowadays for two reasons: It's a fish that turns to ammonia quite quickly if not fresh and cooked, and it's also not that popular, so it tends to get left in a tub going off. Not so here, these guys knew about that and I had the freshest Huss I've ever eaten. A real delight of a place and will always go there for fish and chips in future. Also despite being on the sea front, was not crazy money. Deffo eating there again

On the way to France I ordered latte. About once a week have a latte from Costa and I really like it, but that day I was very very disappointed with the taste of the drink. It was the first time in my life I have to return it as I could not stand that taste. It was very very unusual taste. I do not understand why it was so different, but it looks like there were number of factors from quality of the milk to settings of the machine. The fist time I started asking myself if the Costa really provide same quality drinks in different locations? Why I have so different experience over there?

Over charged us on beer pint . Only one toilet per gender which is very inconvenient when the place has few people

Terrible …. Filthy and only one member of staff Tables not been cleaned and the high chair was filthy Toilets were disgraceful absolutely disgusting

Food is nice but the reason why I rated it a 1star Is because hygiene rated 1/5 so me personally I'm NEVER having it Again SO DONT HAVE IT!!!!!

Lovely visit this week for refreshments. Tempted by fruit scones. Have to say they were the best scones I have had for a very long time - I remarked they were equal to the scones I had at the Ritz!! Lovely cafe and garden - well worth a visit!

While the food appears to be good value for money. It was spoilt by the fact that it was served onto a cold plate and the vegetables were not hot either

Been here couple times. Friendly smiles, fragrant, batter-free spicy well-cooked masala fish and good chips. Eat in if you wish.

We booked into Mash and Barrel at 4.30pm yesterday while staying at Haven. We were seated straight away and also the kids were given some crayons and some drawing activities. Within 5mins we were asked if we wanted some drinks and were also ready to order food so that was all done quickly and effortlessly. The food arrived around 15mins later. We honestly couldn't fault it. Came out well presented and hot. I had a double burger and chips my partner and the mixed grill and the kids had pizza with sides. And was enjoyed. £60 for 6 of us I didn't think was bad at all. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Overall a good experience with no problems. Thanks guys. 👍

Sunday roast. Excellent service,staff friendly, huge portions, very tasty. Cannot fault. Will definitely return again.

Awful in every respect. Service, atmosphere, menu, all bad. Food was swimming in grease. Staff didn’t care. They just didn’t want to be there. Never going back.

Average service, good location, highly overpriced drinks and average atmosphere. This place used to be very good, but we definitely won’t be returning.

Another great visit to the wig. Fish and chips was amazing and my wife loved her burger. Good range of beers and great service. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed, the place inside and out is deteriorating rapidly. Loose wires hanging, the paintwork needs totally updating and overall gloomy. I had a new burger meal, and l know quality when l eat it. There were 4 burgers in the bun that looked like something from HMP. My partner ordered a salad as the main and was given the standard small bowl. Shame as l have used this place quite a bit.
