The best restaurants serving British food in South East

The food was delicious with generous portions. There was also a good range of choices. We had efficient and thoughtful service from James.

Wow i am glad they are back open now in the mornings and evening. They do an amazing breakfast as it cooked to order . And the staff are amazing and always helpful

I stayed here back in July, had a nice time paid my bill and left, 5 weeks later they bill my credit card for the same stay again stating orginal payment didn't go through. Confirmed with them I paid in full and forwarded my bank statement proving I had paid on checking in and monies had been successfully removed from my account. However they refuse to refund my second payment stating they refund 4 weeks ago, again contacted bank who confirmed no refund received. Hotel refuses to refund my money leaving me no option other than to take them to the small claims court. Do not leave you card details with this company they will rob you blind.

Lovely village pub in Brighstone serving great food with a smile Good size portions and great tasting food ,especially the sausage and mash and the sticky toffee pudding Well worth a visit , see you again next year😀

Could not book any table for December on the website as ever day was greyed out! Tried for 45 mins to book a table over the phone but no one answered and there was no answer phone.....this was at 18:30.

I have been coming here for years great food, lovely staff. I had my husband's wake here in 2020. Hannah & the team were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Farewell Brewyers. I will miss you

Lovely meal out with Nan, lovely friendly servers. Excellent quality of food. Never disappointed when come here. Thankyou again was lovely. Really really enjoyed our meals. Cooked fresh and presented professionally

Wer in einen der Wetherspoon-Pubs geht, weiß, was ihn erwartet. Aber das "Jack Fairman" in Horley ist wirklich einer der besseren Wetherspoon Pubs. In einer alten Garage (also Werkstatt) des ehemaligen Rennfahrers Jack Fairman, hat man erstaunlich viel von der Originalausstattung sichtbar gelassen und zeigt so, dass dieser Ort Rennfahrergeschichte hat. Das Essen, welches ich hatte war typisch Wetherspoon. Günstig und eben das, was man in England "value for money" nennt.

I have visited Costa last week but i have been very disappointed,i have a Costa reward 1 free coffee but they take my reward and also charge me for the coffee ,so what is the point of having beans if it's been taken away!

We went to The Ship last Saturday for a girls night out. There was an 80th Birthday Party going on & we enjoyed the atmosphere! Nev & Alicia made sure we had a great night even though they were very busy with the party 😜 Food was fresh & nicely presented 😍 Drinks were reasonably priced 🥂 Would recommend for a good night out with great friends 😀😀😀

lovely staff, nice atmosphere and cosy. Food is great and drink choices are good. I recommend to go here to have a nice drink with friends and family and nice garden area!!!

Excellent staff and very helpful. While staying in the area we thought we would call in for a drink, which ended up us having a meal. My husband had a mixed grill and I had a curry, both meals were very good. If we are in the area again, we would definitely return to the Penny Black.

Needed lunch on a trip and had seen this pub many times. What a friendly vibrant pub with a large menu. Had a very fresh delicious lunch of salmon , potatoes with salad and veggies.
