What a great experience with exceptional food and fantastic service and very family and dog friendly. Will definitely be coming back

Came in couple days it was really busy, food and service was great, me and my partner then came in a couple of days ago and again expectations where reached. This is a really lovely place to go for a quick meal and drinks.

Went with family. Told by barman as we hadn't reserved a table we would have to sit outside. We actually found two free tables inside and requested one of them. The menu were just in a bundle he just handed them as me as I was sitting and told to order at the bar. Which we did, meanwhile the female bar /waitress came to take our order at the table. Food was basic but adequate. Desserts were served by barman without clearing the main course plates. Poor service from barman but female bar/waitress was very good, attentive and professional.

The staff were very friendly and tentative. The food was fair what you'd expect from a pub chain. The only issue we had was with the cleanliness, the table we were sat at was sticky. Salt sprinkled over the table hadn't been cleaned off properly. Cutlery looked marked from washing. Maybe new rinseaid in the dishwasher needed. The cups that came out for our tea we had to clean off tea/coffee stains from outside. Not what you like to see. Looking around most tables looked like they needed a good clean. As I said staff lovely, food as expected, just some TLC and could have been a higher mark.

Came in for lunch on Thursday, we were sat down quickly and didn’t have to wait what so ever. A lovely young man called Alex took our drinks and food order, he was very professional and even helped my daughter with a bit colouring. The food came out and was amazing, couldn’t fault it one bit. Great service, friendly staff and great menu options. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent food and the service was exceptional. The menu is large and varied. The restaurant is very comfortable. We have been 3 times in the last 2 weeks and were extremely satisfied each time. Highly recommended.

Memories of an excellent dinner with family . Superb plates with incredible flavors. The burgers and katsu curry was exceptional and deserves just to dream of . A beautiful establishment where you immediately feel at home. The service was impeccable. I’m giving it 10 out of 10 ! Try it for a nice meal.

Rude boy working there and the man with a beard. The kids meal came with a dessert and because i didnt say at the time or ordering what my child wanted! they wouldnt give it to me and we paid £1.50 for our other child to have kids dessert too and they said we had to order at the time even though the man took the 2 dessert orders at the till. 1 dessert was seved to only 1 of our kids! They wanted to argue over a £1.50 dessert. 6 of us ate here. We paid for a dessert we havent got! Argumentative boy on the till and wont return. Such a shame as we also had our christmas party here last year……

We ate here on the first night of our visit to the area. We had a lovely family meal, staff very good, food excellent. Would definitely go back

We visited the Red Rover midweek as a larger party of nine. They were apprehensive to seat us as they only have a limited kitchen and waiting staff. When we arrived, despite the pub being virtually empty and a reserved sign on the table, there was a man sitting at our table on his laptop. He was quickly moved by the staff and the table cleaned for us. The food was delivered quite quickly and they catered well for the gluten free member of out party. They did have a couple of menu items out of stock which meant a couple of our party had to make quick changes to their orders which meant their food came out 5-8 minutes later than everyone elses. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was of good quality overall.

Had an amazing afternoon lunch with my boyfriend we order to 3 courses which were very delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and did make check backs on us to make sure we were happy with our Meals. Also loved that I could get a whole bottle of processo for under 20 pounds . We be back very soon .

Improvement needed as service not very good at all and this based on several visits in past month.No welcome, chat nor a goodbye and no sense of anyone being in charge of the showUsed the app x 2 but drinks never arrived.Has great potential and I know these tough times.I will try the Landford Poacher when next time in area.Hope The Rover can improve.

This pub is a hidden gem! I came here for food and drinks with friends. Our waitress Lucy was very attentive and prompt, bringing our drinks out very quickly. The pub was busy and lively with lovely staff. Would definitely recommend to a friend and I will be visiting again.

Visited with family on a thursday evening and, despite the nice staff and fast service we were underwhelmed. Unexpectedly it was steak night, so two of us opted for fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. The sauce was good, but the steaks whilst very charred on the outside were still bloody inside ( so definitely not ‘well done’ as we had requested).The pub were out of buns, (!) but instead of offering a side salad for example, the adult recipient just agreed to the offer of more chips. It is not easy for a customer to think of an alternative when trying to order multiple meals, so perhaps it would be an idea for staff to pre-warn customers of shortages, or to have a sign, or a note in the menus, and to offer a choice of substitutions. Childrens burger was also bun-less, so sweetcorn was substituted.Childrens sausages very well done – precooked? They were only eaten after the very hard coating was peeled off by an adult. Would have been better if the child could actually have cut through the skin.All the adults declined a dessert, but the children opted for a ice cream and a chocolate brownie. Not sure why ice cream wasn’t an option/ available, but frozen yoghurt was served which initially looked impressive, but it was very runny and is honestly the first dessert I have ever seen the child NOT eat. Tried one spoonful and left it all. (The chocolate brownie however was loved). Service was fast, but after serving, no one cared to ask if everything was ok. Due to the charred/ under cooked steak, the lack of buns, the rock hard outer on the sausages, and the yoghurt dessert I cannot honestly recommend the food. Whilst my husband feels we should at least try it once more, I will not be rushing back.

Me and a couple friends went in for drinks last night and was suprisedwith a band singing, amazing atmosphere throughout last night. Dana shelby and ellen were amazing and so efficient.

Off the back of my last review of this pub, I had a call from Greene King. I was assured things would get better.There is no evidence that this is the case. Seat covers are split. Windows are falling apart. Only one cask ale is on.The pub is not full on a Sunday afternoon.Very disappointing.

We visited as a group for a 12.00noon luncheon there were 11 of us this was pre booked and also our full menu requirement was submitted the the pub the week before ,as requested .We got our drinks fairly quickly but it took an hour before we got our main meals and even then one of the hunters chicken was missing so one of our group got her meal after we had finished our mains ,the other two hunter chickens were so hard it was difficult to get into them ,we then waited a further hour to get desserts sent out and one of those was wrong it should have been apple crumble but they sent apple pie ,by this time we were all pass caring so we got on with it ,it was so bad we were given a £44 voucher at the end of the meal as compensation ,I will not be going back .the excuse was only one chef .

Welcoming place to go and eat. Good choices of food but dont recommend the curry as you can buy better from a super market although i did like the mango chutney. The salmon and prawn dish was extremely good. Prices are good to.

Great service and really good vegetarian/vegan options. Its really hard to find a place with a range of vegetarian options, this place had a good range and the food was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful

We stopped for dinner at this pub, it was our first time in there. Nice and friendly environment, with candle lights and we were allowed to choose a table My Duo seafood was excellent, the Korean Chicken Burguer for my daughter was yummy and my husband's BBQ Burger was also nice and juicy. Lucy, the waitress who served us, was a friendly, attending young lady, Quite happy with our first experience at The Red Rover, definitely we'll stop again if we pass through. Thanks to all of you ♡

A warm greeting and order quickly taken. The front of house staff were friendly and helpful. When our order arrived part of it was missing which we had to draw attention to. That was resolved within 10 minutes. We had also added an additional side more than ten minutes before our order came to the table and didn't expect the extra order to arrive at exactly the same time but we didn't expect to wait for almost an hour from ordering to having it arrive at the table. Nachos side was very disappointing - cold and soggy with a bit of melted cheese at the bottom of the dish. Waitress apologised for the delay. I wondered if it had been sitting on the side somewhere for half an hour. Not at all as good as it has been in the past.. The dessert choice was limited so we opted to miss that as it had already taken 1.5 hours to get a sharing platter and a bowl of nachos. I can only wonder how long it would have taken if the pub had been busy. Table was sticky. There was no light in one of the ladies toilets so was plunged into darkness when door closed making it unusable. No toilet paper in that toilet either. It's a shame as this is a lovely pub and we've had pretty good meals here before despite slow service and missing food items. Not sure if we will try again or not.

We went for something to eat after booking in our B and B and they were not doing food. So we went to the Red rover we were welcomed warmly and Emily couldn’t do enough for us . Thank you guys wonderful lunch

We decided to stop off at this pub on the way back through from holiday and we are glad we did. Despite being told at the door that there was a problem in the kitchen which meant several of the dishes were off, we were able to find some more than suitable meals for us on the menu. The drinks order was taken quickly and we had our food in quick time too. The service throughout by Tom and Lucy was brilliant, we thoroughly recommend

We popped in for a meal last night with some friends and the service was great all throghout our time in the pub. Our waiter Tom was really helpful the whole evening, always making sure that everything was all good for us and we had enough drinks and if he could get us anything else. He made our expierence that all the more special and we will be back soon thanks to his level of service.

We had our first meal out in several weeks yesterday and it was a great expeirence. With it being the first day of the restrictions losening, we were worried it may be busy but it wasn't too bad which allowed for us to have an enjoyable time. Our waiter Tom was very efficent and helpful all throughout our visit, checking we had enough drinks and that our food was all how we wanted it and making sure everything was all okay. He was extremley attentive and made our visit very pleasant. Highly recommend.

Had amazing girl night out in the Red rover garden . We use the green king app which really help us get our drinks quickly and there no hassle about spiltting the bill . Had loads of amazing gins and bottle ciders . I felt very safe outside as all staff were wearing face masks and had lots of sanitizer around . Me and the girls will definitely be going again soon x

Party of 30 pre booked ordered food by 11 07.21 and only half meals bought out pregnant woman given frozen fish in middle .children and adults waited hour for drinks hotest day of year. One guest had to go to another place to eat as diabetic and was feeling ill. And still half the guest had no food after nearly 3 hours even when we kept asking .poor excuse of a pub

It was the first time for years that I had gone to the red rover for a family gathering.And it would be the last there was a large group of us.We had been asked to re order prior to attending this was done.There was a few changes added.But they said it was fine.We waited and waited for our food it came out a few at a time only half had there's.Then people started complaining where was there foodThe server was very rude.Apparently all the pre order food had been cooked and brought out but, I had seen the list and only half had come out.When this was brought to her attention she said more turned up then had booked ridiculous.It was then asked if anyone else would get the food they had already pre orderedShe suggested she took thoses orders and send them to the kitchen.It would be a possible hr to come out.But at least we could eat.Even then only a few came out, two tables hadn't still eaten now we had been there three hrs.Family were leaving .Then mine came out the gammon wasn't cooked the chips were dry the only good thing was the peas the pineapple looked as though they had been dipped in dirty fat, my husband had pre ordered fish and chips with peas nothing else on the menu he could eat due to a medical condition.But he was served the signature fishers and chips and scampi that he doesnt like.So he never got what he pre ordered.There was a hr and half wait between my side salad coming out and my main meal being gammon that I couldn't eat it was rawOther people's food was still frozen in the centreNow those that was still waiting was getting quite frustrated.There was meals coming out no one ordered sausage and mash was one .When no one claimed them the server then accused us of wasting food.That was the final straw.The lady running it was called for all she could do was apologise and the food that wasn't cooked they would charge for.She was genuinely sorry for the treatment we had received.But even when we were leaving the looks we were getting was terrible from the staff they messed up big time.Nothing to do with any of us.If they couldn't serve a large group all sitting at separate tables then they shouldn't of agreeded to take the party.At one point we were told the chef was having issues.The puddings that were pre ordered never appeared either.We were also told it was table service in all that time I had only two cups of tea .We never got a chance to order any more drinks even though it was a very hot day.Never ever again !!!!!!

Came in yesterday with a few friends for the first time in years, What can I say it was 100% worth it. Friendly staff , knowledgeable & actually willing to chat whilst taking orders etc. The food was presented superbly and was absolutely delicious!! The kitchen is a credit to your team!!

Arrived at 12:00 the doors were being unlocked one couple in front of us shown to our table pre booked .Placed our drink and food order by 12:10 all good you would think drinks arrived watched others arriving as near the door . Food was being delivered to other tables we sat till 12:30 and asked our waiter if our food order had gone through he returned with no explanation other than he had Made sure our order was at the front of service to be cooked where had it been in between time ??!!.By 12:50 still no sign of our food arriving no communication as to when it might appear we gave up and as we had an appointment elsewhere I told our waiter to cancel our order and asked for the bill for the drinks he said they were on him that’s no consolation for having no food as a result I would not recommend eating here and we certainly won’t be returning .There are plenty of places to go and it’s just a shame we chose this venue .

Hidden gem! Such a nice warm and friendly atmosphere!! Greated with smiles and made to feel welcome by all staff!! Great service attended to our every need and went above and beyond to make our visit as enjoyable as possible… food was fantastic great service and really tasty! Would highly recommend!! Just a side note. Emma your manager I think her name was is absolutely fantastic and it was a pleasure to meet her you can tell she cares deeply about her job and the pub keep up the great work we will definitely return

The food was lovely. We were served by Emily and Lucy, who were very friendly and efficient. They were collectively assisting every customer in the pub with their food and drink orders. In fact I don't think they stopped, but everything seemed so flawlessly efficient. We haven't been to this pub for at least two years, owing mostly to COVID, but we were very glad we went back and we will definitely visit again soon. We've never left feeling disappointed with the food or the service. I wish that I had room for dessert, but unfortunately my trousers don't stretch enough. And the dessert menu looked so good too!

I stopped in to the Red Rover as a passing coincidence and to be cheeky and use the WiFi to do some work on my way through.The brunch burger was really nice, and the waitress was very attentive. Everyone was following covid guidelines which out my mind at ease in these difficult times. All in all, a pleasant visit and I'll be stopping here again on my next journey south.

Visited The Red Rover on route to my father's house out west for lunch and felt compelled to leave a review. Staff are fantastic, very happy, welcoming and always wear a smile. Restaurant is clean and very relaxing. I ordered a 8oz rump steak and im usually quite fussy with these, frankly I'd disagree with anyone who eats a steak cooked past medium. I like a rare steak.Kitchen delivered what I thought was an excellent steak first time with no drama, I really couldn't fault the food, even if I wanted.Regarding the covid rules, the entrance and exit are clearly signed posted. The one way system is clear and moving around the restaurant was easy.Left with a fully belly and in a good mood, looking forward to seeing my dad for the first time in a long time.Would highly recommend The Red Rover and will certainly visit again.

Came in with my girlfriend in the afternoon for a few rounds of drinks. There was a large variety of spirits which I loved. Dana knew all about the different gins and vodkas available. We will both be back for another visit!

I recently went to the Red Rover and had a delightful experience. One of the staff members, Emily, was very attentive and served me and my friends efficiently. The food was very tasty and well portioned as I had plenty of beans on my plate. Will be going again.

Had dinner with boyfriend and the dog. COVID measures were on point and all staff wearing correct PPE Samantha was our waitress and can not fault her. She was efficient and friendly. Went out of her way to accommodate all our needs. The pub is dog friendly and when I asked for some fish fingers for the dog the chef offered to do fish and added rice sweetcorn potatoes and carrot. She enjoyed her meal as much as we did! Highly recommend

Lovely meal out with my family, just what we needed after Lockdown 2.0! Me and the husband enjoyed the Turkey Festive Burgers which are amazing! Excellent covid rules in place to keep everyone safe. Christmas colouring to keep the children entertained. Thank you Team Rover!

A rare day off for the other halfs bday, I dragged him to Southampton Xmas shopping with the promise we will find a pub so he can enjoy his first pint since the lockdown! We stumbled across this place on the way home to be nearer the kids school for time ect! We were greeted by Kat who was so lovely & explained all the Covid rules ect and showed us to our table! She picked my other half for the daily advent calendar as she was aware it was his birthday....winning us a free pudding, such a lovely touch! We were a little cold by the fire exit door so moved to the area with the open fire which was amazing & felt so cosy! Our meals came out and oh my god iv never seen a meal like it, they were huge! We opted for the fish and chips & I honestly haven't seen fish like it! We will definitely be back! Kat & Shelby are a credit to this establishment!!

After going out for xmas gift we visited for a quick lunch . The festive atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were so king and friendly and helpful with the new covid regulations. We had mince pies and festive hot chocolates . What a brilliant pub we will be back next year

microwaved cheesy garlic bread... cold chips, eggy pints, birds flying around inside the pub. Steaks overcooked, no pepper sauce. Don’t recommend at all unless you have zero tastebuds.

Great value for money, Great service, Sam our server was brilliant. Food came out on time, hot and tasty. The children's meals came out as soon as they were ready and they were Great value. Overall we couldn't fault it.

Apareció para una comida familiar de última hora. Me complació tener una muy cálida bienvenida, la mesera explicó las nuevas reglas con respecto a COVID - 19 y nos pidió que desinfectamos nuestras manos en la entrada. Las mesas estaban bien espaciadas. Pedí un entrante para compartir y un poco de pan de ajo para los niños, que no tardó en salir. Poco después nos preguntaron si estábamos listos para nuestro plato principal, que era. Una vez más, no tomó mucho tiempo. La comida era excelente, porciones de buen tamaño para lo que pagas. A los niños se les dio algo de colorear para hacer mientras esperaban, lo que los mantuvo entretenidos para que la esposa y yo pudiéramos charlar entre nosotros.Sin duda volveremos en un futuro próximo.

Initially just planned on a couple of drinks with friends. However, after seeing their new menu we all decided to eat. The food came out quick and was delicious and the service was amazing. will definitely be returning !

Visite para un almuerzo rápido y fue recibido con una muy cálida bienvenida.Este lugar es un pub que admite perros con un menú único para perros y camas cómodas para el perro, hago mi pedido y en unos momentos, llegaron los refrigerios y poco después de la comida. Llegó, todo estaba bien preparado y obtienes lo que pagar por el tamaño de la porción fue bueno y el precio justo lo recomendaría a cualquiera para un almuerzo encantador y un buen servicio. ¿También tengo el premio que vi por el mejor pub para perros en el Reino Unido? Puedo ver por qué todo el menú para perros y cosas para perros? Comería aquí de nuevo en cualquier momento, mantengan un buen trabajo chicos

Absolutamente impactante. El lugar estaba tranquilo y ahora sabemos por qué. No me malinterpretes, el personal fue educado pero no tenía ni idea de lo que estaban haciendo. Poner una botella de vino en una mesa que no tenía tapón de rosca, por lo que un miembro del personal requería abrirla con un abridor de botellas y dejarla. Luego, cuando pedimos que se abriera, el miembro del personal del bar tuvo que pedirle al gerente que lo abriera. Eso fue un poco impactante. Un miembro del personal del bar y ni siquiera podían usar un sacacorchos.Pedí fajitas de pollo y 10 minutos después, el camarero se acercó y dijo que no teníamos salsa ni aderezo para fajitas, ¿está bien? ? ? Uh no mate porque entonces eso no son fajitas de pollo es solo pollo y pimientos.Sin salsa de tomate. ¿Qué pub no tiene salsa de tomate? ? ?La pasta de tomate para niños era como cartón calentado en el microondas con un espetón de qué tipo de salsa de tomate se parecía.Fue un desastre tan pronto como entramos por la puerta. Es una pena que este pub fuera el lugar para estar como 10Hace años que.Definitivamente ya no recomiendo este lugar.

Terminé aquí como en cualquier otro lugar cercano completamente lleno. ¡Literalmente no tenían comida! Sin pasta, sin jamón, sin curry, sin fajitas, sin jugo de manzana, sin brotes de frutas, sin ensalada de frutas, sin queso para el pollo del cazador. Ridículo ! ¿Quién hace el pedido y el inventario de alimentos?

Perfectly happy! Turned up on bank holiday, not pre-booked, were told on arrival there would be a slight delay with food as 2 larger parties were in. Good Covid measures in place. Staff explained everything very well and were excellent throughout. It’s pub grub, so you get what you expect to get, nothing fancy. Food didn’t take long at all, probably no longer than you would expect somewhere that hadn’t warned there would be a delay!! Perfectly happy with the food, all good. And all with the benefit of the last day of ‘eat out to help out’ so 50% off. Bargain!!

Having been second choice after another local establishment which was fully booked, this lived up to a Greene King pub in as much as you get what you pay for. Having said that, all food was clearly freshly cooked and tasty. The staff were very clued up on covid-19 measures and all very safe and clean.

Popped into the red rover with a few friends after a walk in the new forest and was completely blown away by how professional and well organised the staff aswell the pub was, at the door we were made to sanitise our hands and given lots of information about how the pub runs now after corona virus, and the lovely door host even offered us table service. Well done the red rover for amazing food and even better customer service

Went to The Red Rover for a evening meal with my friends, absolutely amazing! I was so impressed with the layout of the pub and the system of social distancing. Highly recommended, very good food and value for price. Will be returning!

I came into the red rover, west wellow yesterday. The establishment was very clean, and I felt very safe coming to this pub. The staff were amazing, they were informative and pointed out everything I needed to know. The one way system was implemented extremely well, although they had ran out of a few items, they had other things that were available. The garden is beautiful and big, with loads of room for dogs. I will be bringing my dog in to try the dog menu, I was happy to know they are a very dog friendly pub.

Lovely visit with friends for drinks. We were nervous about returning after COVID but the systems They had in place made us feel very safe. The staff looked after us and the table service was a lovely touch. Very friendly. Will be popping back for a meal soon. Also very dog friendly so will be bringing our boxer for a visit soon.

Popped in with my husband and children for a last minute meal out, excellent service and a very warm welcoming! Pub was very clean and extra care taken during these uncertain times. Drinks brought over from the bar promptly and as we had a tab running even asked us as the table if we could like and top up drinks! Food was perfect, love the fact it’s dog friendly and will definitely be returning with my two furry friends to check out the new doggy menu!

haven't been to this pub for a few years popped in on the off chance, staff very pleasant pub very clean food excellent and very dog friendly. In these uncertain times could not fault them in any way EXCELLENT WELL DONE

Today we visited the Red Rover with our dog and what a place! Dog friendly is an understatement more like dog haven, the staff were warm welcoming and understanding.We met a lovely lady and her other dogs, the atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed.Dogs are allowed anywhere in the pub and the doggy menu was fantastic lots of choice for our pooch. The food was amazing, freshly prepared and the presentation was great. We will definitely be visiting again thank you to all of the staff for making it such a brilliantly comfortable place to be out with your dog.

Family get-together and we found a really nice place to have our meal. The pub itself is very nice but the first great thing was the lovely young lady taking our order - someone with genuine friendliness plus being totally professional. Made absolutely sure we were getting exactly what we asked for plus the extras we didn't know were included!The menu is really comprehensive and the 2 meals for £10.99 was a real bonus. When the meals arrived we were all a-taken back by the size of them which was totally matched by the quality.As it was my daughters birthday a dessert was a must (not for me unfortunately, as I couldn't manage anything else). Just as well by the size of the helpings and everyone else agreed they were absolutely delicious. This order was taken by a young man this time and again, could not have been more pleasant.Would most certainly return when in the area and would highly recommend on all counts.

I visited this pub with a group of people Thursday for the first time again since last April (which was not a good experience as the table we sat at had dog poo all over the floor) The first thing that hits you is an odd smell in the pub, maybe its because its so dog friendly! It was dirty, toilets smell so bad, only 1 ladies toilet had toilet roll in! The mens toilet and dissabled toilet had no toilet roll at all in them. We were served drinks in hot glasses (straight out the dishwasher!) the diet coke and coke zero were warm and they ran out of some bottled beer. Only one member of staff was friendly (taller lady) the others were not friendly or welcoming at all. The pub didn't have a good atmosphere at all. I would never ever eat in this pub...never! It’s ok if you want to have a drink in a warm glass, be stared at my 1 member off staff, eat food with them only having level 2 hygiene rating and i hear if you want to stiff cocaine up your nose (i was told thats a regular thing for many in there!) its the place to be!5 out of the group had sickness diarrhoea the following day probably caught in the pub as its such a dirty place. AVOID THIS PLACE......

Been before several times generally pretty good. Food is general generic green king fair but well priced and well portioned!Went for lunch cracking pint of IPA, but the steaks were poor quality full of fat and gristle! Robbed for the price,But what was really an issue was the arrogant tall young lad behind bar!! Really terrible arrogant attitude, when I changed order halfway through he tutted and moaned, really needs to learn hospitality, just looked miffed and nasty!However there was a lovely young lady who served the food.Will think seriously about looking elsewhere next tine spoiled for choice in that area.

I have passed this place many times but this is my first and am sorry to say my last visit to this establishment. I had such good hopes for it too. I walked in and thought I have walked in to a frat house with the rowdy youths and all the swearing and boisterous people. I got to the bar and I should have known when I was greated with "Yes mate" so order my drink twice as he forgot as he was distracted by his "Bros" but got a luke warm glass of wine and he just pointed to the card reader! The music is so very powerful and loud it's not pleasant I asked if it could be turned down and was told no. Then I took a seat next to what I can best describe as a sample that doctor would like just lest on the seat! Will not be returning.

Boasts it is dog friendly which I'm sure appeals to many but the overwhelming smell of damp dog as we entered put me off having dinner there! Lots of the menu was off when we visited too as there had been a delivery problem. Shame as it's a well presented pub in a lovely location. Great for those with dogs I'm sure!

The food was brilliant the potions were good and the value for money was fantastic the pub was not too busy as the weather was terrible but the staff made it a cosy time and they were really friendly and excellent service

New to the area, I took my wife and 4 children to The Rover during half term as we fancied something nicer than the usual fast food takeaway! Food was great! Staff were very welcoming and great to know they also accept dogs! Will visit again soon.

Popped in for a drink with the hubby and ended up staying for a meal. Staff were friendly and very helpful! Food was cooked perfect and great value for money. Will definitely be returning!

We went out tonight 6 of us... no pizzas, chicken, steak, fish on offer. No delivery apparently . Ordered other meals but not good, items missing from them, Told the waitress we weren’t happy with them but not offered any drinks or anything to compensate .we won’t be going back. Shame as always had good meals before.

Arrived just to have a quick drink and a dessert and landed up staying a few hours.

On passing through Salisbury we decided to visit The Red Rover. It looked very inviting and were pleasantly surprised that the interior was just as inviting and warm. The team welcomed us and we decided to stay for a bite to eat. The food was delicious! We were made to feel very welcome and will pop in again if we’re ever passing.

The red rover is located just outside of the new forest a306 . Stopped off to meet friends who lived Southampton for drinks and catch up. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpfuland infomative about drink deals . The pub was clean tidy and had service with smile

Myself and my partner came to the red rover for a nice evening meal together, we had a very warm welcome upon arrival and our night just got better with staff always on hand to help as well two excellent chefs who in fact exceeded mine and my partners expectations, food came out within 15 minutes and was hot as-well as super tasty, loved our evening so much we’ve booked valentines night at the red rover. Thank you red rover team

Today we Had a large family meal at this pub and we were greeted on arrival and shown to our table the food and service was at a outstanding level due to the size of party and different meal orders the chef had everything ready and it all came out together and with it hot and presented well on the plates thank you to all the Red Rover staff and the Chef

Went to the Red Rover because the Rockingham Arms was closed. The pub itself is ok. We ordered Sirloin Steak, potatoes, seasonal veg, peppercorn sauce and mushrooms. I have to say I have never had such a bad sirloin steak as I did at this place. Both myself and my partner felt that it failed on all counts. Find a chef who knows what a decent steak looks like.

Came in with a few friends for a lunchtime meal PERFECT. Perfect food, Perfect service. Wonderful pub :)

Greeted by friendly and welcoming staff, food arrived quickly was warm and lovely! Recommend to anyone.

Popped in yesterday for Sunday lunch. Won’t be doing that again anytime soon...

Let’s go for a dog walk, and on to the Red Rover?

Tuesday is curry night on the menu with a free pint, sounds good until you go to order “sorry sir not doing curry on Tuesday night”.

We visited on a Friday evening for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks. Food was awful. Partner had macaroni cheese and we're convinced it was stuff out of a tin. I had hunters chicken. Not too bad except being a little dry. On the menu it said it came with onion rings, it did.. two! I suspect it was the minimum amount just say they could say 'onion rings' rather than 'onion ring'

Pub was very busy upon arrival, however staff were waiting to offer a helping hand straight away. We went for my son's birthday with a few family memebers and were blown away by the oustanding service, not only is the pub super friendly its amazing for dogs with all its lovely dog blankets bowls and treats will be back very soon.

Cuando llegamos allí nos saludaron con una sonrisa y nos dijeron que nos sentáramos en cualquier lugar del restaurante, al ordenar en el bar nos dijeron una selección de cervezas y refrescos. Regresamos a nuestra mesa al lado del fuego que estaba encendido. Ambos pedimos el pollo tikka como lo recomendó uno de los miembros del personal. Cuando llegó estaba muy caliente. ¡La mejor comida que he probado en mucho tiempo! Volveremos de nuevo. Un enorme aprobación de mi esposa y yo

Al pasar por un viaje a Southampton, llamamos para el almuerzo del domingo. En primer lugar, varios elementos del menú no estaban disponibles (por ejemplo, pierna de cordero en el menú asado del domingo) y, considerando que era alrededor de 1. 30 pm, no puedo pensar que se habrían agotado para entonces. Luego nos dijeron que habría una media hora de espera, aceptable siempre que todo lo demás estuviera bien. Pero, cuando llegó la comida, no solo había porciones diminutas (p. Ej. De papas fritas), ¡era PIEDRA FRÍA! La carne de res (anunciada como ligeramente rosa en la imagen) estaba bien recocida y negra en los bordes. Enviamos 2 comidas y recibimos las mismas después de haber sido cocinadas en el microondas, por lo que la carne estaba aún más seca. Explicamos que esto no era aceptable y nos prometieron comidas frescas. Sin embargo, tuvimos que esperar otros 10 minutos mientras el personal servía otras mesas. Cuando finalmente llegaron las comidas, ambos estaban calientes, ¡pero el bistec gammon de la segunda comida estaba casi crudo! Totalmente incomible y probablemente bastante peligroso. Pedimos y recuperamos nuestro dinero, pero perdimos más de una hora de nuestro viaje y no terminamos con los almuerzos que necesitábamos. Además de eso, las mesas estaban pegajosas, los vasos estaban sucios y los baños estaban sucios.

Vinimos al Red Rover este último domingo debido a que vimos en el periódico que acababan de ganar el pub para perros más amigable de los Estados Unidos.

La reputación del Red Rover ha sufrido en los últimos tiempos con mala comida y servicio. Sin embargo, ahora está bajo una nueva administración y se ha cambiado.

A great welcoming pub with friendly, happy staff , really good if you are looking cheap eats! Will defo go back!

Pasé por un trago y una comida durante una caminata de perros, ¡y me sorprendió gratamente lo bien que atienden a los perros! Tenían golosinas, tazones e incluso un menú especial para perros, no podríamos habernos sentido más bienvenidos.

Visita dominical, un almuerzo realmente encantador con la familia. Este pub se encuentra en el nuevo bosque y es una verdadera joya. Acogedor y cálido con un personal encantador que se desviven por hacerte sentir bienvenido. La comida era excelente y se sirve muy caliente y muy sabrosa. Acompañado con una buena pinta de cerveza, tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio. El pub también admite perros, lo cual es genial después de un paseo por el bosque. Volveremos pronto.
