My wife was charged £6 for one round of cheap supermarket bread toasted.Hmm.!! My sausage bap was average at best. We had to endure sitting close to 3 loud/sweary blokes, who were old enough to know better than to swear in front of women. You can rip us off once, you won't get another chance

Whilst visiting the New forest myself and my family thought we would watch the 1st half of the football. It was 5pm in the afternoon, we were told children weren't welcome and had the barman known we had children he wouldn't have served us. My children are very well behaved and sat in a quiet corner or the pub.. the Bar manager made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome that we left our drinks and left... One word for this man ' JOBS WORTH'

Visit with friend Just came in for a random drink on the way home from Framptons (which is a lovely venue with lovely kind staff) and came here with nothing but joy and happiness to share. Started off okay and were welcomed by ‘some locals’ but after half hour we were told to leave by the manager with no reason why. We can only presume it’s because we don’t have a bus pass or draw a pension yet. Very disappointed with how we were treated and will not go back.

The team naturally makes you feel part of the regular pub family whilst maintaining an exceptional standard of service. Personal touches like making my kids feel so welcome today celebrating my daughter’s birthday is the icing on the cake. Food is fantastic, sports coverage is brilliant and the atmosphere is special. From big matches to regular nights at the bar I highly recommend a visit. Fantastic! Thank you, I’ll be in again very soon

Rang and booked a table at short notice and the person I spoke to was very polite. We arrived and all three of us decided to order the Sunday roast. It came in good time and was very well presented but the beef was very tough, so we asked if it could be changed for Lamb and they kindly replaced it. The Lamb was better, but still a bit tough. Me and my partner had the chicken that was nice. The veg consisted of a small portion of broccoli and cabbage and quite a lot of diced sweet. We all struggled to cut the roast potatoes and the large half of carrot that came on the plate. About half way through the meal I asked everyone what they thought and we all agreed overall it wasn’t good. I then decided to approach the manager to discuss. He didn’t seem very happy with my views and said the pub is busy, which I didn’t it was, and he said nobody else has complained. He then said to me leave it with me and I will see what I can do. He never came back to us so I went up to the bar to pay and he said is 20% off okay with me and I said okay and shook he’s hand, then he remarked back it isn’t really good for him, which I thought was a bit rude and he told me he had checked some roast potatoes and in his opinion they were fine and it must have been bad batch. I then paid the bill and on going back to my table I seen a guy struggling to cut his roast potato, so I said to him are you having trouble and his reply was I’m not sure if it’s the knife isn’t sharp enough or the potato is too hard. As I left the pub, I mentioned this to the manager with a smile on my face.

First of all reading all the previous one star reviews and the response from the inn on the furlong I already know they will bite my head off for this one and they seem not to be able to deal criticism and can’t provide a sorry for you experience with their response. I’ve popped into the pub a couple of times I’m not a local but when I’m in need for a quick drink and I’m in the area I will go in. But my experience each time is no one has been rude to me but as an observing customer it seems to me that the staff are constantly unsettled and quiet nervous as it always seems they are being told off by someone for doing something wrong, the landlord and the manger seem very intense and intimidating it can be a very unsettling environment. The pints are always good and the food looks like it’s okay. But a piece of advice without a harsh response maybe be friendly and compassionate you will make your business thrive.

Considering the general cost of eating out for lunch or brunch, The Furlong pub is reasonably priced & has a varied menu. In good weather it's pleasant sitting outside in the courtyard. It's usually best booking ahead for weekend meals to avoid disappointment. Bubble & Squeak with poached egg & bacon is a welcome option on the menu when out for brunch. A small Roast Beef with veggies & a small Yorkshire Pudding suits me when we have had an occasional Sunday lunch out. It's good to know that there are two plate sizes available.

Popped In here for a pint and some food on the way to London, and must say I can’t recommend. I did check its reviews before I came in and was wary because at times the owner responses to some of these seem quite harsh and dated - but you can see them here for yourself, and I’ve never been one to take words as gospel so gave it a go. My pint was ok, nothing really that would stand out, the food tasted good, and was cooked well, but the lady behind the bar seemed miserable. Tried to make conversation and have a chat, fell totally flat. There was a man who seemed to be an authority there who was rude and seemed to be putting poor lady through her paces- no wonder she looked so sad. I am such a lover of pubs but I can’t say I felt welcome or compelled to come back, do wonder if he would treat a male member of staff like that. Either way as an equalist and customer it made me very uncomfortable. Wish I had trusted the reviews. I did however find a really nice grocers next door where, like you’d hope a village would have. the guys are absolutely lovely! Give this pub a skip and go see them!

Staff were very attentive and seemed on the ball to check if we needed anything We were too full up for dessert, but did see some coming out the kitchen and they looked very tasty. All in all a very cosy chilled out pub

I just want to thank the staff in the pub today who were so kind today! I had a spot of lunch here and enjoyed it so much, alongside my friends. Everyone said how delicious the meals were. However, I will respond to the ladies comment below.. I witnessed her walk into the pub and start complaining that the music in the back garden was on loudly. I will say, that I, was thankful for this. Nothing against the lady below, but when I’m eating I really just would like some peace and quiet, not to be listening to busking for a few hours. Alongside this, I will comment on the fact that I saw her approach the bar manager, I did not see any aggression from his part. However he was honest and stated that people did not want to hear it, I wish now that I had stated the facts that this was what myself and my friends also thought. Don’t take the negativity from peoples bad experience effect your view of this beautiful pub, the staff are so friendly and the food is absolutely delicious.

Nice free-house with a good selection of ales, lagers & ciders including the famous ales from the local Ringwood Brewery. Plenty of outside seating, some of which is covered, means smokers have a place to go in the rain and some outside areas are non-smoking for those who like al fresco drinking or dining without the smoke. The English breakfasts are excellent quality and value. Came here for a friend's birthday in August. We had been in the New Forest and were very hungry. No food was available. We were a large group and bought a fair few drinks. The drinks service was very slow and the cocktails were low standard, mojitios with far too much sugar. We had some food from outside which we tried to eat in the garden without a fuss. Didn't see it as an issue as the pub sold no food and we were spending money. From here on, my girlfriend was completely ostracised by the staff. They made up stories about how she made the guests uncomfortable, she was told not to take her drink to the toilet (for a girl this can be very unsafe leaving a drink in a pub you don't know). And was generally bullied by the staff to the point she was in tears wondering what she had done. Our entire group ended up leaving and finding somewhere more welcoming.

We go for lunch at the Inn On The Furlong in Ringwood every couple of weeks. We share a delicious 3 egg omelette with extra chips. It's getting so popular, it's a good idea to book a table. It has a good menu with many dishes at very affordable prices. And the food is tasty and delivered quickly. It's full of locals and we see many of the same faces every time. They allow dogs and there's usual a few there every time we go.

Decided to check out all pubs in Ringwood. This was my first one. Very happy to find they served Summer Lightening from the Hopback Brewey.. so already gained extra points for that. Pleasant pub, good service and great beer. Didn’t eat so can not comment...

Only had breakfast but was a good varied menu on offer. Quick friendly service and very good prices. Food was lovely and tasty. I had the bubble and squeak option which you don't find that much on menus. Well done to all the staff

Have not been to this place for about 6.years and it wasn't great then either. We all choose of the festive menu pre oredered. Turned up to be told one of the starters was not available, fair enough ordered something else, however when thw food started coming out what was on the menu was definitely not what was served on the plate in fact it was less but they still had the nerve to charge a supplement for things that where not there. How this place is still running is beyond me. I will not be returning for a meal!

This was my first visit here and I was pleasantly surprised on arrival at the spacious car park. The building is very interesting and the bar steward was able to tell us all about it’s history. The bar is in the entrance hall with little seating available. The Library and Billiard Room are nearby with ample comfy seating, but for those who like to drink at the bar, it is not ideal. The building itself is very interesting. It is from a past era with extensive wood panelling and some very spectacular high ceilings decorated with intricate plaster work. The men’s toilettes were pristine and very well appointed. Sadly, it was very cold in both the bar area and in the dining room. The manager/server sat at a table in the dining room working on his lap top and taking a series of phone calls. Even when we were seated in the dining room he continued his activities at times rather loudly. We had to attract his attention to take our orders. The menu offers a wide range of choices. Our starters were good and enjoyable. My falafel salad was very tasty and looked very attractive on the plate. Our server was friendly and helpful and the food arrived promptly and hot. Our main courses were received with mixed reviews. The fish pie was shallow and with little fish. The chicken dish was rather bland and greasy. The two burger eaters left empty plates and enjoyed the burgers and the fries. We did not stay for desert but did do justice to two bottles of a very tasty Chateau Neuf du Pape. Was the evening value for money? The atmosphere was stark, it being cold and devoid of background music. The service could have been better, but it was a Wednesday night with few customers and only two front of house staff on duty. Some main courses were underwhelming and so overall I did not feel that the evening was good value for money. The location has so much potential to become a really great place to eat but perhaps I’ll try again in a year or so.

I'm not a member but I booked in with Royal Lymington Yacht Club to do RYA Level 3 Dinghy sailing course after doing levels 1 & 2 on the river Thames. The club is very nice with great views and Richard, the instructor leading the course was great and gave the choice of additional things to learn.. I had a great time out on the water and sailing on the solent felt like a real achievment. Proud to be able to say I trained at Royal Lymington Yacht Club and am looking forward to doing RYA First Aid Course in December .
