Lovely helpful staff, great food and lovely atmosphere. Perfect to spend mums birthday lunch there and able to take our dog in too! Perfect!

Good relaxing atmosphere, not too busy/loud and good food. Friendly staff and especially accommodating with my food allergies without any prior notice. The waitresses/kitchen staff were more than happy to alter/substitute the menu to suit my dietary needs at no extra fuss or cost! Would definetly go again, especially when the menu changes.

Visited with friends this past weekend and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Everyone left happy and full. Excellent service and a great selection of food and drink.

Lovely meal on Saturday night with friends. All varied meals and all looked good! I had the Toad in the Hole on the special menu. The Sirloin steak looked fantastic as well.

What a fantastic restaurant! The staff were amazing, they literally bent over backwards to serve us what we wanted! I had my eye on a lunch dish that only came as a modified starter on the dinner menu & when I asked the friendly waitress if I could have it, they said yes. I also wanted the peach crumble but unfortunately, it was sold out. The chef said he could do apple crumble which I thought was great, but I wanted it with hot custard (something not on the menu) & they willingly obliged! Incidentally, the apple crumble was perfect... plenty of apple & no stodgy dough! Thank you Waterwitch for your hospitality, we had a super dinner!

Again this week we revisited another of our favourite pubs and that was the Waterwitch in Odiham. From the low beams, and the history, to the wonderful beers, and excellent food. The staff are exceptional and very friendly, and it's a great place to spend a couple of hours in. We send our thanks to you all once again. Me and my sister always meet to walk our dogs along the canal. This pub has always been where we finish off with a nice refreshing drink for us and the pups. The staff are always friendly, there are plenty of tables to sit in the garden, and the dogs are made to feel very welcome. On this visit we was made to feel awkward by another customer who just glared at my sister. We changed tables to move further away and it looked like she was leaving but she got a new glass of wine and moved closer to us and continued to glare at my sister in a intimidating way. We was going to stay for something to eat but this made us feel very uneasy. Has anyone else experienced this before, this is the first time for us and we have been visiting for years, but it's put us of going again. We left feeling very on edge, even our dogs barked at her and they love everyone! It was unusual behaviour and made us and our dogs uncomfortable. This was about 2 weeks ago and my sister did message the pub on facebook with a description of the lady and how she was, she has not had a reply still. We tried to make the staff aware on the day but they was very busy. We was worried something bad would happen. The pub itself is really great.

Lovely location but unfortunately the food and service is much to be desired. They didn’t come and take the order, when we went and placed it at the bar they then didn’t bring drinks as they said they would then it took an absolute age to get the main courses. The steak was one of the worst I have had in a restaurant, grissly/chewy, tiniest portion of chips and tasteless sauce. Mixed grill was average steak overcooked and the whole thing under whelming. Very disappointed with the visit and would not recommend

What a disappointment, recommend to dine here. Full day out at the zoo so everyone hungry. I ordered adult burger with cheese and bacon. I received a tiny meal and had to play hunt the bacon. Very disappointing. At bill time I was asked if I had vouchers! I didn’t. But is that the reason for the tiny portion? Vouchers for discounts so we customers paying full prices get discount portions? Really! Honestly, go elsewhere, there are far better places to eat. Dessert was ok!

Sarah and her team are absolutely wonderful and always make you feel welcome. They go above and beyond and are very attentive. There is a wide range of food and drink and it’s always excellent. Can’t wait until the summer when we can utilise the beautiful garden. Keep up the great work!

Lovely setting. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Clean toilets. Reasonably priced.. Extensive menu. We had fish and chips, steak pie, burger, and pork loin. All nicely cooked and presented. Service was very slow despite few customers, staff seemed to be chatting to each other and ignoring customers.

Another great evening was supplied by the most amazing attentive team! Tried the new supper club menu excellent choice and really good value for money. Amazing drink's selection and always a fantastic atmosphere! Thank you to the Team :)

We have been here previously and had some decent meals Today Bottle of red wine bought to the table with enough dust on it to prove it’s been stuck around for years which I get if it’s decent however at least dust it down and clean the glasses of lipstick before hand Such simple stuff who the hell is watching over there staff here

Was brought to this place and had a cheeky Madri with the BBQ Chicken. Service from Izzy was outstanding. I came on a quiet day but the environment was warm nonetheless.

Been visiting with friends regularly for a good few years now. Plenty of gluten free options for myself; very allergen aware. Never had a bad meal or bad service!

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a fantastic food menu with plenty of options for those with dietary requirements.

We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening. The service was slow to the tables, we waited until our food arrived to receive our drinks. The toilets were disappointing with toilet roll in only one of the cubicles. The portions of food were good and hot! There was plenty to choose from on the menu.

The big thing going for this pub is the large garden set next to the Basingstoke canal, so a nice place to while away a couple of hours with a beer and some food. The staff are friendly and the food is good for a chain pub, with top marks for pudding! You sort of know what you are getting and letting yourself in for, so comforting from that point. Definitely a place to visit when the sun is out.

We came to the Waterwitch today for Boxing Day for their festive menu, 8 of us in total and we were blown away. The waiting staff were incredible and went above and beyond. The food was unbelievable and portion sizes so generous none of us could finish it all. Such a great atmosphere and so cosy. We will be back next year for Boxing Day again. Thank you Waterwitch

We went for a meal early evening tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff attentive and our order of drinks and food were served swiftly. The food was tasty and hot. Great atmosphere. We have been coming here for many years and love the country setting. Well done to the chef and staff! We will be back soon.

On entering the door we were greeted by a sign saying something about “No Chef. Short staffed, and meals only for those who had bookings. We had a booking made days before so no problem and we were shown to a table, given menus and told various items (which we were going to order) were not available. After a long wait we were asked what drinks we would like and we ordered a bottle of wine and after another wait we were told this was not available either. Whilst all this was going on some strange chap in an orange hi visibility jacket was wandering around the bar and restaurant area going to tables, pulling out a chair, sitting down and then jumping up going to another table and doing the same thing over and over again whilst looking around him furtively. At this point we got up and left.

Sorry,but only average or below.No Pinot with meal,service slow,staff not over friendly. They had a special on menu for Bread + butter pudding,but I,d like to know what the chef thinks the ingredients are for this dish? Cherry compote( few strawbs included ) with a slice of brioche over the top cut into triangles,not a baked dessert at all .asked for custard , didn't come ,so asked again ,then brought a small jug for two of us .Really? Then charged £ 15 -58 Not good value at all !!!

So bad it's was not true . Most of the menu was off.Some of the ales off.I think the selection of food on the menu was there because nobody wanted it. You can't blame chef and brewer for not delivering, someone manages that pub it's down to them. The fish was all batter , the chips tasted strange , limp carrots . Have you a chef or just microwave wave the food .No mash , even I can do that . I'm being polite with 2 stars , there must be a reason for such terrible service. The reason I write this now is my friend recommended coming there and I didn't want to embarress them on the day. Please get things right , my friends like the place , my refusal to come there will cause offence

Can’t recommend this one place highly enough. Service was phenomenal Atmosphere was great And best of all the food was outstanding !! Even with my self and a couple of friends being picky the staff had all the time in the world for us. And was really helpful with suggestion !! Will definitely be back. Also very refreshing seeing the manager checking on other tables and ourselves to make sure our experience was exceptional wish there was a 10 star option !!! Well done guys !

Starter was delicious. Roast was appalling except for yorkshire pudding and very late coming ! Shrivelled carrots over seasoned with way too much pepper. Rock hard broccoli, fatty tough roast beef, odd tasting roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese. No where near enough gravy. Took 45 minutes from our starter being cleared to our mains being bought out and had to ask, other customers who ordered after us, had had and eaten their meals before we had ours.

Had a great meal with friends last night. 6 of us enjoyed a mix of starters and mains, wine and beer. Food was tasty and filling and good value. Service was good. Will definitely be back for more!

The food was sometimes cold and the service was slow, they were out of my first and second choice starters which was frustrating and seemed to be quite disorganised. The only thing saving this place was the onion rings which came with the burger and could be ordered separately as a side They were tasty and the CORE (church of the onion ring enjoyers) must approve the crispy onion rings, however a lack of seasoning

Nice location by the river. The service was very slow and the staff were huffing and puffing about serving at the bar! Only one flavour of crisps on offer and they refused to fill up a water bowl for the dog. This place could be really nice but the service lets it down!

This historic pub has a fabulous location overlooking the Basingstoke Canal. There is a huge beer garden which would be great to use in warm weather. The pub is part of the Chef and Brewer chain and so has quite a dull menu. There is something to suit vegetarians. The main draw of this place is the location.

Definitely a good doggy pub. Made very welcome on a first visit in many years and not disappointed. Beautiful village and venue, easy to find location and ample car park. A good selection of food and drink and don’t miss the specials. Decor could use some TLC and would have given 5 stars but in some places it’s looking tatty - call it character.
