You pub brilliant use your venue twice and always there for food and sausage for theo my dog

Food wasn’t great: burger patties not freshly made; fish pie basic and over salted; cheesecake dry and bland. Quality just doesn’t meet the price, unfortunately. Fleet isn’t blessed with good pubs :(

Booked for Sunday tea time. Still doing their roasts but at £10 a head after 5:00pm. Great pink roast beef, loads of veg and roasties with a big Yorkshire pudding. Finished off sharing a ginger sponge. All good and great service throughout by CJ (Chloe).

Crap , the Bar Staff are Cold . No eye contact , don't greet you or make You feel welcome . You may have been standing at the bar waiting to be served for some time but they don't care . Poor customer service , won't be wasting money here again ! Rubbish !

Rubbish , go somewhere else , if you can find somewhere else !!

Iam a coeliac and need to adhere to a strict gf diet. The waitress gave me the IPad saying it was easier to use than the scanned allergy menu. She said everything ticked could be modified to gf. When I looked I queried this, as it was the absolute opposite. For pudding I opted to scan the menu. I ticked all the gf boxes but then couldn’t open the menu. I asked the waitress and she didn’t know how to do it. Therefore I simply chose a burger because she reassured me they could be made gf and berries and sorbet as I thought they were a safe option. I never saw a menu to know what I could actually have. I’ve eaten here many times before and I’ve always had a lot of confidence in you. This , I’m sure is just a blip but a potentially serious one .

Food was lovely, service very slow, more staff needed

We have been there a few times and service is always slow. We went for Sunday roast last time and my kid had a kids sausage and mash. The sausage was so dry and chewy and it was not even edible. When I told one of the staff, she said “ what do you want me to do?” So I asked her to make new one… and she took her plate back to the kitchen and my kid had to wait another 15mins or so. we had to ask for the food again as it was taking long time and we did not get any apology. They forgot her dessert, too so I had to ask again and waited another 10 mins just for ice cream. I understand Sunday is a busy time but it was very stressful as we had to chase for our food. We won't be going back.

Disappointing compared to previous visits, especially on a celebration day.

Sunday Lunch booked for a birthday celebration … The service was very slow … only 2 waitresses in a full restaurant …had to ask to get the table cleared of dirty dishes … Waiting a long time for the main course .. Didn’t have cauliflower cheese … ON A SUNDAY LUNCH … at 1pm ?? The Beef used to be lovely …before it’s not now… Cut into rectangular pieces and not pink as advertised … Very disappointed with overall experience .. The weekly menu never changes … It’s boring .. we visited the pub in the week … Had no chicken wings .. or Pie !!! My partner ordered chili .. so small and inadequate … had to send it BACK The menu needs a complete overhaul .. and change of chef … Would not recommend this pub to anyone .. it’s a shame as it has great potential to pull in lots of customers … We live 200yds away and eat out 2-3 times a week … but go elsewhere now … We visit for a drink although the drinks are expensive too

Visited for a late lunch on a Friday. The club sandwich was a good choice and the soup was fresh and tasty. Service was excellent.

The team were very efficient and got everything we asked for including allowing us to change tables and getting an ice pack for my very painful trapped nerves in my neck. I was very impressed with that.

I have twice been to a live band evening to dance. Both times I've appreciated the friendly atmosphere of both staff and other customers.

I always enjoy eating here. Service was a bit slower than usual but it was busy. Staff were lovely, as always, and the food was great.

Nice spacious parking. Great to sit outside on a sunny afternoon. Nice to take dogs.

We booked for 30 people for my Dad's birthday. Our experience at the De Haviland was really good - as always. The seating was setup so we could all sit together, food served promptly, really good menu - pre ordering was easy

Brilliant all round. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Welcomed into the dining room, comfortable and roomy. Time allowed to decide menu, and prompt service of both the meals and drinks. Definitely a place to enjoy good food with good friends. Another visit on the books.

Second visit in the last few months, both times excellent - always enjoyable good food, and great service too so happy to put another commendation comment in. So nice to have a really nice place to eat that is nearby.

We used to live in Fleet for 20 years and this place used to be good. Chicken and Bacon salad should have been breadcrumb and bacon salad, the chicken was very difficult to spot and cut into baby sized mouthfuls . No-one asked if the food was ok (which in good places they do ). Did not want honey and mustard dressing so was offered ketchup or mayo . Overall very disappointing and below average

Booked here for a family lunch. Good range of Beers and nice layout of tables around a nice warm fire. Ordered food from the main menu and Sarnie section. Sandwiches were excellent and good value. Service was good as well.

Delicious dinner at the De Hav last night and excellent friendly service. Enjoyed the nachos to share to star followed by fish and chips with fab crunchy batter and the rest had the flat iron steaks all cooked correctly as ordered and to finish the chocolate pudding. Great value for money approx £100 for 4 including drinks thank you

Visited on a Sunday evening, had a beautiful roast, food was excellent, service very attentive, overall we had a lovely time. Hopefully, I'll see you all soon.

Great atmosphere, warm and Christmas decorations up, a great place for a Sunday roast. They were out of Turkey unfortunately, but it was the first weekend in December and busy. We were actually running a bit late for our booking so rang and they moved it back 15 minutes which was nice of them. The waitresses and bar staff are really helpful.

Dreadful service, incorrect dishes, long wait to correct. We will not visit again.

Went for evening drinks with a friend but was extremely disturbed by the amount of people vaping inside which was awful as everyone had to suffer the horrendous smell of vapes and not to mention to unknown dangers of the chemicals they contain. Very disappointed that they allow vaping inside.

Just had the worst fish & chip i've ever had, i would advise others to stay well away. The fish was actually chewy! Who' ever had chewy fish, so thin you could see through it

October 23 Mens toilets smelled disgusting. I appreciate you use a waterless system but many places use this but I could not stay in there and chose to go home and use mine rather than stay for another drink after dinner. My girlfriend told me that in the ladies toilet there was no toilet roll. Shame, service and food were excellent. January 23 Visited today at lunchtime following my usual Sunday lunch pub was fully booked and I was quite honestly overwhelmed with how this pubs food and service has improved since my last review I left 4 years ago! I booked the table over the telephone with George who was friendly and helpful and was knowledgeable about a couple of food queries that I had. Upon arrival the beers were served upon quickly and with a welcoming smile. Just fyi, almost £6 a pint. Was seated by Gorge the guy I had booked with and was surprised he had remembered the food I had discussed with him earlier. I had the aged beef roast which came with unlimited Yorkshire puddings at £14.95 The food that was served was lovely and plentiful and for me quite honestly one of the best roasts I have had! My girlfriend who had had the steak and ale pie, also at £14.95 said that hers was lovely too. Brilliant news that this place has improved its food offering over the years as its quite local to me and I will certainly be eating here more in the future!

Lovely vibe, great choice of food and drinks

Had a bad meal here before but visiting again i am sure this was a one off and a consequence of being busy with the rugby. In Fairness, the management sorted this issue and apologised. My second time visiting here was great, the roast was cooked to perfection and staff were very attentive. Having a restaurant that puts things right is invaluable and I hope to come again!

Myself and my partner recently had what we both described as the best pub roast we’d had in a very long time! The food is always incredible, staff are all lovely and very welcoming, there’s always a great atmosphere.

Fantastic place to visit to meet friends, welcome always warm and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff. I would be happy to visit on my own, which as I’m sure most people would know can be a rarity these days. Coffee good, accompanied by biscuits.

Went for lunch and ordered the egg & cress sandwich - well ! No egg just mayonnaise and rocket no cress either so I complained and was told it would take at least 10/15 minutes to boil another egg ! Considering there was no egg in the first sandwich and wow 15 minutes to boil an egg - the manager blamed the chef and offered me something else so ordered a club sandwich which took 15 minutes! By which time my son had finished his lunch. We did get the whole meal for free but I didn’t eat the club sandwich as it wasn’t what I wanted and didn’t fancy eating on my own. And oh in the car park when we left was the food delivery van! They obviously had no eggs or cress so why not just say before we ordered. Ruined what could have been a great lunch with my son so not going back!

Great friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely pub but drinks service dreadful. People queuing out the door to get drinks from the bar. Our friends gave up waiting as people were jumping the que. Another friend queued for over 20 mins.

£9.95 for double cheesburger and chips (~£5 off all burgers) on Wednesdays - a nice surprise. Lovely sunny day, sat in rear garden. Peaceful. Pint of draught Fursty Ferret, too!

Very good service and friendly and atmosphere

Very nice atmosphere, with a massive outside area. Had a good lunch on our way for a weekend.

I was sharing a meal with a group of family members and I did not want to make a fuss. My Chicken and bacon salad actually lacked bacon and the chicken was minutely chopped and I suspect it was the same type of breaded fillet my husband had in his burger. I did not want a breaded bit of chicken or the pile of crutons. So just disappointing. I have usually had better meals at this pub.

Popped in for a drink after work with a friend, was a quiz night, atmosphere was very nice and inviting.

Living locally, we decided to book for 6 people whom we had not seen for some time. We have not been to the pub for quite a few years but previous visits have been OK. 2 of the dishes we ordered were off the menu so we had to re-order but that's not a huge issue. We ordered 2 sharer plates of Nachos and Chicken Wings. The chicken wings came with onion or squid rings which were undercooked. We raised this at the time. The Nachos looked like Doritos with a very scant dusting of cheese. Disappointing for the price. We ordered 3 x Burgers, 1 Steak and 1 Chilli. The Burgers and Steak came with chips and no other vegetable. The Chilli considering the price was very small and looked like it had come out of a freezer packet. Very disappointing considering the price. I should have complained about it at the time but did not want a dispute in front of friends. A mistake on my part. The pub should really consider the size and quality of food its serving to retain eating clients.

The staff were lovely 😊 but the food was not, I never usually put negative comments anywhere but a simple chicken and bacon salad was awful, and Tuna melt was thrown together! Ver disappointed apart from the girls on service.

Unfortunately we have had low quality meals on 2 separate occasions at the De Havilland, and will not be returning. Food is overpriced for what you get, and on both occasions has been dry and over cooked. Since the management has changed, they are more focused on cost savings and budget.

Very dusty pub, got served eventually no one else at the bar. Pretty busy pub mainly outside till it started to drizzle.

Will never go again, after one and a half hour wait the food arrived over cooked and greasy, i was very uncomfortable that night unable to sleep and felt so rough the next day. What a waste. of hard earned money

The pub atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and make us laugh. They were very friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Would recommend!

Really happy to have been able to edit this review. We chanced the De Hav again after previous disappointment.. And they came up trumps. First class and I mean first class Sunday Roast. Big time improvement in food. No longer trading on all the regs

Living locally, we decided to book for 6 people for a re-union meal after not seeing relatives for a number of years. We booked a table in a quiet area as we had some catching up to do. We ordered 2 x fish and chips, 1 x Steak pie, 1 x cumberland sausage and 1 x Chilli. Both fish meals were overcooked and dry and the majority was left by our guests. The Cumberland sausage was with mashed potato-no gravy. The steak pie was dry and just on a bed of red cabbage-nothing else-no gravy. The Chilli was JUST "OK"! I would normally have complained at the time but as I did not wish to have a dispute in the company of elderly relatives, regrettably I bit my lip-a mistake on reflection.

Five of us ate here last night and four meals were disappointing. Two fish and chips had overcooked fish which were dry and a bit hard. The sausage and mash had no vegetables as did the steak pie. The chilli con carne was fine and the desserts were very nice. The service was polite and efficient.

Had a meal there mid Jan 23 , had some issues with "special offer" deal charges rang to complain and sent email. I spoke with manager and was promised reply and vouchers to compensate (Ian & George) still waiting ..... after 4 weeks. Poor customer service.

Fantatsic from start to finish! The Manager, Ian and his team, could'nt do enough to make sure our large group were made to feel very welcome and have a wonderful Xmas luncheon. No request was too much trouble for the Manager. Kind, caring, thoughtful, organised and all done with a smile. Thank you for making the occassion so memorable and doing such an excellent job. We will be back.

A cracking pub that’s got a lot of character. It’s not very old but they’ve made it feel like it is, very cosy inside with it’s varying areas and authentic features. Child and dog friendly too, which is nice. Seemed a little pricey but I guess that’s just the cost of drinking out nowadays unfortunately.

Great local pub & good hearty food. Open, airy, clean & tidy. Nice furniture, large chairs & tables. It does have a cover seating outside too.

Selection of draught beers was not brilliant at the time of visiting but nice atmosphere and welcoming staff.

The second trip in recent weeks where the service has just been unacceptably slow. Food was great except my first two mains choices were not available. Last night saw: mains cleared, no offer of dessert, all staff disappeared, eventually asked for bill after 40 mins...

Lovely friendly staff, a roaring log fire and great coffee with fudge on the side - what's not to like! I'll be back!

Friendly staff, good food and a great atmosphere Summer 2022 update New manager is grumpy. Poor at communicating too. The owning group are still operating a card only system, so a pocket full of cash is no good. It may have been a Sunday evening, but no atmosphere at all. October 2022 update. A rare Friday night. Heard there was a new menu, so thought, why not! Ro ked up with no booking and was told that it was busy as its Friday, pay day and half term, so would have to wait. Waited about 20 mins amd got a table to find it wasn't even very busy. Waited ages for our order to be taken. To he fair, the food came quickly and was nice. My other half (driving) ordered an Alcohol free cider, which had been advertised on their Facebook page, to be told they had sold out (very poor planning by management). Moving on, finished our mains and tried to order pudding, but they did not have our selection in stock. So summary, made to feel bad for not booking, then didn't have the staff or stock to serve us. Alex C was our waiter and he was the only good that came from our visit. A very decent and courteous chap. Come on De Hav, you need to get better.

Books table on a Friday evening asked for a quiet one on booking. Was met by friendly restaurant manager and shown to a quiet area. Being a bit of a pie connoisseur I ordered the pie which was excellent. My wife had vegetarian pasta which was also good. Can't fault the service from a young girl who was duly tipped at the end. Will be definitely coming back.

A really nice pub, location and perfectly friendly and pleasant staff. Love the local brew ‘The De Hav’ and selection of bar snacks. But this whole ‘no cash’ situation is atrocious, this can NEVER be maintained, the worst is Covid is over, get back to normal business please 💷 💷 💷

Lovely community pub, great place to meet friends for lunxh. Very friendly staff who helped me with allergy advice and modified my fish finger cob to be dairy free. Delicious and generous portions

Cosy pub, friendly staff, good food

Really great place. Stayed at the Four Seasons but the food was significantly better here! Good vegan options, staff very friendly. My son has autism and they were very accommodating. The chocolate and orange torte was particularly impressive.

The food was lovely, but the service terrible. Our booked party arrived in two groups and were sat at different tables. Luckily we found each other. The first group (one person) ordered a drink which never arrived. We ordered food quickly, as we had to get away fast. We were not warned of slow service, but it took 40 minutes to arrive, even after chasing multiple times. The man behind the bar was extremely rude when we asked for the third time. The diabetic in the party had injected insulin expecting the meal in a reasonable time, the spent the rest of the night trying to rebalance blood sugars Update. Following this review we were invited for free main dishes for four. The food was again very pleasant, and the staff very attentive, clearly aware that we had serious complaints about our previous visit. A much better experience.
