This is a nice restaurant, food was tasty. We had a party of 24 for a special event, we did have some things added to the bill that weren't ordered on the pre order. All was corrected though. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely outside with the water and ducks, the pub even provided free duck food and dog treats!

First time eating out since coeliacs diagnosis and was very anxious about it. The staff were happy to answer my questions on the phone before we visited and on the day were all wonderful. As a party of sixteen they were amazing at getting the meals out as quickly together as possible and the gluten free fish and chips was amazing. Also love that it's a dog friendly pub and really enjoyed feeding the swans with the special food provided by the pub.

We went here for Sunday lunch. Food was very nice and actually a bit too much for most of us. Service was very good but the salient feature of this place has to be the mill house itself. Sadly, the mill is not working to produce electricity, but it is displayed nicely through a glass wall as is flowing water from the river. On top of that, the building has various rooms, one of which is galleried and with a superb, tall bay window that allowed in plenty of light. There are also a few footpaths nearby to walk off lunch. We'll definitely be returning.

Discovered by chance while going to Cardiff this weekend for Wales-France with my sons, it is a very beautiful place and nicely decorated. We were very well received by Hervé, the cuisine is of high quality and the service is up to par. Well done everyone and we may come back but not by chance.

We ordered a Roast Shoulder of Lamb, Deep Fried Cod in Beer Batter, and a Steak Burger. We love these dishes, particularly the Deep Fried Cod in Beer Batter, it was very crunchy and juicy. However, the Roast Shoulder of Lamb was a bit cold. The prices are somewhat high. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxing, despite it raining outside.

Had a Sunday roast here today. Haven’t been here for years. The food was amazing as was the service. Such a beautiful venue and I am definitely returning.

The food here is fantastic! Really friendly service and cosy atmosphere.

Love this place. Outdoors is perfect in the summer and indoors cosy in the winter. Best of all is they are dog friendly.

Historic pub with an incredible water mill downstairs which is encased in a glass viewing area. Great selection of local ales and lovely food. Well decorated and beautifully maintained. Lovely gardens Great food but a little pricey.

Just had one of the tastiest gluten-free fish and chips in batter ever! My partner had the lamb which she rated as superb also. Food was great, service was excellent and the characterful building/location is amazing. What more do you want.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at the Mill House today. Staff were really lovely, friendly and helpful. The establishment itself is beautiful inside with glasses off access to see the old water wheel and river flowing through. The food was delicious, well presented and fairly priced. The location is beautiful. We went for a walk along the canal in the sunshine before lunch, this is the Mill House, Butterwood and Basingstoke canal circular walk, you can Google directions for this amd it starts at the pub 😁

Good pub. Really nice food. There was a big group of us and we all enjoyed our food. We hadn't seen each other in a while so we were at the table a few hours. But we weren't hurried along. Good service. Lovely setting.

I've been here a couple of times in the last. Once for a busy pre-Christmas lunch and the other for a mid week when things were quieter. In both cases, the staff were brilliant. Service was leisurely, friendly, and effective. Good selection of starters, mains, and puddings. All dishes were very well presented and delicious.

A delightful and beautiful pub with a fascinating history and delightful staff. Food and atmosphere are great, decent sized carpark, and beautiful surroundings. Accessibility could be a little better, but my disabled partner managed ok.

Lovely location, excellent service. Sea bass was very nice, burgers were ok, not special, steak not available which was disappointing. Small dessert and coffee option is an excellent idea. Pot of tea was great. Cappuccino was ok.

We meet each year in January, a group varying in size from 8-12. Many travelling great distances. Very disappointed last Jan 2023. The service was sooo slow, an hour+ to get first course but the worst thing .... it was freezing cold. I sat in my coat! Are you getting more staff, will the heating be on? I will not join the meet in 10 days, its not worth the effort to travel.

What a truly brilliant evening we had on New Year's Eve. The restaurant looked so festive, the staff were amazing, always on hand to look after us and the food was delicious. I would like to especially thank Georgia who was just a complete star all evening

There were 7 of us, seated at a table drinking chatting at 1.30. Expected to be served. That's a lot of money the pub has declined by not serving us a meal each.

Been to this place for dinner , very good place for dining great atmosphere and location. The food is great but service is not very great to many errors made not to just us but also to surroundings customers , we ordered a hallouimi as a starter but they send us chips and when challenged he didn’t brought it until we finished our dinner. Also they charge for water and the guy said it’s for charity they charge . Dessert was nice . Just few hick ups but rest all ok.

Stunning old mill pub. Always too busy unless you book!

Had our group Christmas Dinner there. We were placed in the room to the right of the bar, this was full of atmosphere as it had old beams, wood stove and tasteful Christmas decorations. This made for a great dinner, with lovely food.

The food at The Mill House is always amazing and today was no exception. Service was friendly and polite, though we had a little bit of a wait before we could get hold of the bill and pay at the end.

Superb long lunch with friends. First time at the Mill House & came here after visiting other B&P pubs.Your staff are super, welcoming, friendly, chatty & professional. The food was excellent. The pub itself is very comfortable, ample parking & dining areas & the refurbishment is very much aligned to the buildings history which makes it an interesting place to dine out in. We all will visit again very soon.

Our first visit to this restaurant and we would be happy to return. Being Xmas it was very busy for a lunch time and the place did seem packed. The car park certainly was as there were no spaces left! There is a good varied menu and the food was tasteful. Not huge portions but just right. The veal and bacon suet pie I had was delicious and recommended. Service was very good and efficient to the point we were told our food maybe late being brought to the the table due to the numbers in restaurant and Xmas party groups. In the end it was not too late arriving. Overall a good experience

Lovely surroundings but the general service wasn't that brilliant or efficient although the girls attending were very nice and polite. The meals were a long time coming as well but they were beautifully cooked and delicious . I suffer with severe COPD and become breathless even after a handful of steps walking and absolutely gobsmacked to be told the toilets, including the disabled toilet was downstairs. From where I was sitting it meant walking the whole length of the restaurant, downstairs and walk the whole length again to the toilets ( They are basically directly underneath where we were sitting! How would someone in a wheelchair be able to use the disabled toilet??? A beautiful pub with plenty of unique features to see including a glass floor and beautiful garden space. The food was delicious and varied - not your typical pub grub, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. They offer lots of options for different dietary needs, and take allergies very seriously. There is a great walking route they recommend that starts and ends at the pub.

Popped in for a quick beer with a friend after a walk. Lovely place to sit and relax with a really chilled atmosphere.

We've been to The Mill House before and will be back! Food, atmosphere and surroundings are excellent, the only very minor slip was that I had to ask for the "Christmas Envelopes". It's dog friendly and in warm, dry weather there is a big garden by the mill pond.

Fabulous pub, great selection of wines, beers and very friendly staff. They also host a dog walk on the 3rd Saturday of each month in aid of DogsnHomes Rescue.

This is a really old building, and has so much character that when I first saw it , it thought I was n a film set, the inside has bands of character. I think it was at one point a real mill house as the millpond is still there and it looks like one of the original water wheels is still installed in the building, i don’t know if it still works. The found we had was good I had fish and chips with mushy peas, it was a good serving, with the fish in a light beer batter. My companion had the boar pie and she said it was very good and would have it again. The pudding, well the pudding was to my and my companion better than the main course! We has the autumn fruits Eaton mess, it was very very good with everything that you expect in an Eaton mess, well worth it. I did not try the real ales as I was driving but they had a good selection from fff and hogs back brewery amongst others. I would strong recommend that you reserve a table as this place was busy when we went on wendsday lunch time. So worth a look especially he Eaton mess pudding.

Great cosy winter pub as well as a great summer pub. Loads of dining space but also a reasonable amount of drinking only seating. Charming building!

This pub/restaurant is in such a beautiful setting and must one day go on a lovely sunny day. We were in the large old room with all the paintings for dinner. Would really recommend for the lovely surroundings and the food is good pub style food. We have already booked our next visit in a few weeks time.

Wonderfull spot. Try it. You wont be disdapointed. Great food, friendly staff, clean bar and toilets. Outdoor seating area is exceptional. Inside has parts of the old mill behind glass panels. I recomend. A1+

Excellent setting, but service falls short. This restaurant boasts an exceptional location, featuring a captivating disused water wheel on the ground floor for your exploration. Unfortunately, our dining experience hit a snag when the starters arrived alongside the main courses, a letdown in timing. Additionally, we endured an extended wait for one of our ordered drinks, raising suspicions of a possible oversight. On a brighter note, the food delighted our taste buds, earning praise without reservation. While I'm inclined to believe they might have had an off day, I remain open to revisiting in the future.

Absolutely fabulous place. Food was fantastic, great selection of drinks as well. Really interesting layout and featured inside, landscaped beer garden is one of the best I've seen in a long time.

Lovely pub inside and out. Vast and pretty garden with pond, vintage tractor and swings is great for keeping kids entertained while you enjoy good local ales and nice nibbles. One of the better all-round pubs in the N. Hants area.

I have been a few times to eat here and loved it. Yesterday I brought some friends with me who weren't from the area. While two at the table go their meals, myself and my friend waited an hour later to get ours after we had to go inside to complain about how long the food was taking. When the food arrived there was no apology and there was no offer of anything for our disrupted evening. Considering we were spending a fair amount of money there, a free drink or dessert would've gone a long way.
