We've ate here 2x and both times the food and service were excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and the grounds are fantastic!

Another excellent dining experience

Had a bad pint, told the bar staff who did nothing, still left the beer on sale, for some other poor guy to have the same experience.

beautiful pub family friendly booking advisable as they were a bit grumpy because we had not booked,plus they get very busy ,one star less because bread was not toasted with pate and only two tiny pieces and no butter every one else's lunch was fine.and prices are high .

Seriously how did I find this place. Driving back from Odiham we needed to stop as traffic was terrible. Saw the sign pulled in and that's it. Great food and service done!

Wow! What a find this was! A pub full of history and character. We travelled nearly an hour to visit this pub from a recommendation from a family member, and we were not disappointed! From the mill running through the pub, to the amazing decor, I’d highly recommend this to anyone! Service was 10/10 and the same can be said for the food, keep up the great work!

We had a lovely meal here at the weekend, with it being a beautiful setting and pub/restaurant. The experience we had though was although awful, being new parents we arrived with the pram to a set of stairs with no other direction/guidance on how to enter the building should you have a pram, wheelchair or mobility difficulties. After asking a member of staff if this was the entrance and being told yes, we then proceeded to carry the pram up the stairs (with baby in my husbands arms) with us clearly struggling two members of staff walked past and neither offered assistance or an alternative route in, it was also pouring down. Okay we thought, we then get in the building and try to catch the attention of staff to be shown to our pre booked table, multiple staff walked past us and none acknowledged us, even though we were clearly waiting. Finally after my husband had to go out of his way, we grabbed a member of staff going on her break. We were then told we were seated down stairs and had to go back out of the building (down the stairs) and through a back door (fire exit) and then down more stairs to our table- again with no help and baby still in our arms. This experience was quite unpleasant for us and because of this we won’t be visiting again nor will we recommend it. I also wouldn’t recommend to anyone with prams, wheelchairs or mobility difficulties, which is such a shame.

This was the second time we have travelled to come here having really enjoyed it the first time. Unfortunately my slow cooked braised lamb was red and pink in the middle. I asked for it to be cooked further but the response back was it’s cooked through etc!!!! Sadly just like a steak it’s personal choice if you want it rare, medium or well done. I cook a lot at home including braised lamb and it’s tasty and not red or pink. I was offered a different meal but I chose to eat only the meat I thought was cooked to my liking. Such a shame that the chef thinks it’s his way or not at all !!!! Won’t be rushing back

Came here as a half way point between us and our friends. None of us had been before. Was a very busy day on a bank holiday weekend but despite that, we found the service to be great and the food too. Really liked how they had put out an additional bar and kitchen in the garden, which was fantastic and avoiding long queues. Food was great and prices were completely in line with other venues in the area. Place appeared to be very well maintained and had beautiful grounds. We spent most of our time outdoors but inside was very cozy looking and would be great for winter. I especially loved the windows looking over the old Mill Race that runs through the building. Dogs were very much welcome with staff members fussing over them and water bowls being provided in several locations. The only negative is that this venue has quite a small car considering how many people it can seat. It is in a small village with no nearby public parking, so it is not like many people are able to walk in to visit. Hopefully this can be improved on one day. Would definitely go again.

No.1 pub in the area just ticks every box for what a pub should be! Last time I was here the service wasnt as good as it has been and the burger was a bit over done.

Being coeliac I love the choice of gluten free food. The staff are always cheerful, courteous and professional and the interior is full of character and very comfortable. All this lends itself to a delightful dining experience.

We visit you every year on our way from our annual holiday in Dorset. This time we visited with my parents who we had given a voucher for Christmas.I have never seen The Mill so busy, absolutely packed in fact, but the service we received was second to none and we all enjoyed the meal, and the visit in general. If we lived nearer we would visit more often.Your staff are all so friendly and engaging. We love The Mill and are so pleased we stumbled across you several years ago.

Absolutely first class from start to finish, highly recommended, excellent food brilliant staff ,big thank you to David who was brilliant and so courteous, nothing was to much trouble.

The building & setting is 5 star. Beautiful place. Would like to go there on a summer's warm evening & sit by the river. A must visit for the building. Mon veg meals were good, but not the vegetarian food,which was less than mediocre. The soup was good.

A really pretty setting, delicious food and a lovely lunch experience.

Very nice eatery and pub, near the M3 and gorgeous pond and mill stream through the building. Wheelchair access a little tricky though.

Awesome place, lovely old mill which we stopped at for a sunday lunch. Very accomodating friendly staff, great food.

It is set in a beautiful location, and the restaurant is large and has additional features of the stream and some of the mill workings running in through it. We sat outside, there were plenty of seats. We had to get the printed menu sheets from the bar then order. Unfortunately the quality off the food wasn't great. We were sitting outside but the food was warm, literally the mash was cold. We couldn't be bothered to tell them to take the food away and reheat it. No body asked us if the food was ok, if they did we would have told them it wasn't. I had sausage and mash. It consisted of three sausages, cold mash and gravy and tough cabbage, not good value at £15.95.

Beautiful grounds. Beautiful inside too. Food is just lovely and piping hot. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. We decided to opt for lots of starters like tapas yesterday, Bank Holiday Monday and it was so nice to have so many choices in front of us. Considering there was a duck race and the grounds were packed, our food came out quickly and very hot. I would highly recommend you try The Mill House, Nr Hook. 5*

So very disappointed. Lovely looking venue and helpful young staf BUT the food was a real let down from the so called French onion soup without sour dough. A real meagre and slightly tough helping of calamari and then a linguine 4 mini clams 4 prawns no sign of the samphire or fennel Certainly not value for money

Nice pub but really pretty poor food. The steak burger is just a beef burger; there's no steak anywhere to be seen. Dessert (chocolate fondant) was very good though. Also really pricey.

Mid afternoon booking for Sunday lunch. Managed to get a table on the patio, which is on a first come basis. Staff are young and enthusiastic in the main. BBQ menu was on in addition to standard fare, lots of choice, decent quality. Parking a big issue when busy, and it was. Toilet facilities totally inadequate for the number of diners/ drinkers, needs to be expanded.

The building and the grounds are very attractive with lots of outside tables with comfy chairs and umbrellas. The young staff are very friendly. We arrived at about 3.45 for a late lunch but were told kitchen was shut until 5 because of the heat which we could understand so we ordered drinks and crisps and waited till 5 to order. As I wanted something light I ordered haloumi fries and caesar salad. The haloumi was lovely but the caesar salad was unpleasant. There was very little salad, anchovies which I had not expected and the whole thing was drowned in a not very nice caesar dressing which certainly did not contain lemon or any of the usual ingredients and I could not eat it. I did mention this to two members of staff who were not bothered, even a bowl of fresh lettuce as a gesture of goodwill would have been something. Would also mention that my husband said the gents toilet really smelt and I noticed bits of paper trailing on the floor in the passage outside the toilets. This was a birthday treat for my husband and previous visits have been enjoyable but I think this will be the last. Jean

Always a great place to visit. Good food, some really fantastic staff. Especially Sid and Marcus(although not seen him for a little while), great to have such young men greet you with a smile, curtious and very helpful. Always nice to visit and be remembered by the staff, adds such a personal touch to our visits. Which are pretty regular recently.

Lovely place , staff were great and food was good too though I only had a starter plate so can't comment on the mains but friend had the brownie and said it was good too. As it was so hot after lunch we took our drinks + wandered round to the shady trees behind the lake it was beautiful!

Very disappointing. Had to park 300 yards up the road as it was so busy. Fish and chips was very poor. Batter was rock hard and it felt like the chips were left overs. Got charged for a drink which never arrived. Service was slow but our waitress was very pleasant.

Had a lovely lunch then lingered by the pond drinking coffee for ages. A most enjoyable visit

One of the most beautiful settings of any pub in the Southern area. We dined here for a birthday meal, the food was excellent, the service not quite so. The first waitress had a hint of arrogance and disinterest, the others who attended to us were great however.

A lovely find in our homeward Journey. Beautiful gardens lovely water that features all around the grounds (deep in places) Very interesting pub many different levels so you can look over as you dine to main restaurant below . Lots of interesting windows made in walls and floor to see water going under pub. We didn't eat as we had a huge breakfast but it looked lovely And very popular people sitting in lovely grounds as well as inside ..totally will revisit.

A beautiful place with very tasty food however we had to wait ages for our food to arrive and it didn’t come together. Two of our party had almost finished when the other two were served and we then had to chase the side order. The pud’s were not very inspiring so two of us went without. This place could be amazing but is seriously let down by the staff who were very polite but ineffective.

Quite frankly SUPERB!!! It’s been a rather long time since I’ve eaten a meal in which all dishes were a WOW factor. Impeccable service in a delectable ambiance.

Oh my god what a beautiful place! The river / lake is absolutely stunning with ducks bobbing about. The food was delicious serving up a real treat for my wife who was recently diagnosed as coeliac- they are a fully accredited pub for coeliacs, the perfect place for her to eat. I didn’t get the chance to photograph the dishes as they were gobbled up in no time. We live an hour away but was informed by the staff member they are a chain and one is located near to us. To be honest we are happy to travel the hour to this place to enjoy food in this setting anyway. Inside was beautiful timber beams and a window you can see the original water wheel. All excellent- we will return soon

First visit, lovely atmosphere, beautiful surroundings. Food was lovely and quick, I had the chicken and ham pie. Only let down was I didn't see one member of staff outside smile!

Amazing find! We stumbled across this wonderful pub on our way home from the beach and could not have had a better experience. The setting is stunning, the staff could not have been more helpful and the food was delicious 😋 thank you so much we will definitely be coming back.

Went for a meal with relatives a June 12 2024. We are from Canada. 4 persons I had fish & chips. One piece of fish on top of approx 10 chips, container of tartar sauce and peas mashed. 17.45 pounds. Expensive! Asked for cappuccino with cinnamon on top. Did not have. My wife had Basil gnocchi. 15.95 pounds. Not worth it, sorry. One of the worst she ever had. And no bread offered! Atmosphere was very nice. Service sketchy girl forgot my order the first time. Over priced food. Will not recommend. Thanks

A wonderful location came for a Sunday dinner the service was very fast and the food was amazing. Our waitress Georgia was fantastic and a credit to the location. There is a wonderful outdoor space which I hope to use when the weather is better. We will be back Dog friendly

Lovely waterside garden with outdoor bar. Had a lovely cold cider on a hot afternoon. Friendly staff kept us very well supplied with water as we were very thirsty.

Great little English pub. Staff were so friendly, the food was delicious, and dog friendly on the top floor. The restaurant sits on a beautiful, clear water river that you can see under a glass window in the pub. The interior design is set in old English design. The food was super fresh, homemade, and a good selection for both adults and children.

Lovely setting, nice food. We had to wait 1.5hrs for our mains to arrive and one (for the heavily pregnant member of our group) was missed. Unfortunately this put a downer on an otherwise very positive experience. Staff didn't make any attempt to rectify the shortcoming, for example by reducing the bill for the particularly late main. Disappointing.

Welcoming to our young children, and family members who brought their dog. Price is on the expensive side but for the quality and atmosphere it felt a nice treat. Top quality local ales on tap
